You could always try and make the Japanese emperor as a sort of Christian King of Japan, strong arm him into stepping down from being a god to being appointed by God as king with the popes blessing.

Could be done,but...why? Japan Emperor as puppet is useful ONLY as descendents of gods.
It would be better,if SI become King and be done with it.
