That's a flimsy point. It's the job of an author to convey those things to their audience. Who cares if the characters in-setting feel awe? I could write a sentence where a guy shits himself and say every character felt awe at this. That doesn't make it amazing to the readers, lmao. That's just disgusting.

And that's my point. There's a disconnect between what the author thinks is 'aura'/cool and what actually is.

I've read aura farming fics where the farming is from the protagonist's POV and have thought "That's fucking awesome."

Not once here.

...ngl I kind of thought that was the point? MC is a dumbass tag is there for a reason. Taka's pretty lame to me, but he would probably be objectively impressive in universe- gotta remember, raw power makes up for a lot of eccentricity.

The dumbass tag doesn't help much either. You can be a total dumbass and do some pretty cool stuff. I've seen it done before. I just think it might be a pacing/description problem for me.
