On a Pale Horse (Umamusume/Youjo Senki)

With the jokes about Shirogane picking up her jockey if they fall off, I can totally see her as an Uma, picking up a racer who was in front of her that fell and just running with them on her shoulder over the finish line.
Like what Lightning McQueen did in Cars but with umas instead?

Wasn't Haru Urara trained to race safely over anything else and is thus why she was in so many races in comparison to others? So I'm not sure it would happen to Urara at all.
Essentially part of her "charm" was her determination to keep going after so many losses.

Her winning a race could break the spell and thus people's interest in her. But also yes both trainer and jockey respectively trained and raced her for safety, given how she was a missed race away from death and her popularity came from her losses.

Haru Urara could probably have won some races, but that would be counterproductive for all parties involved so they didn't really try.

Well, would you look at that, Umamusume is adding in Kawasaki Racecourse into the game. Looks like Forever Young make a big enough splash that they put more dirt races in the game.

Now I will be able to better visualize it when Steady Distance goes for it, lol.

Dirt, huh...?

*Haru Urara's eyes begin glowing red.*

I'm fairly certain it has nothing to do with Forever Young and everything to do with Copano Rickey's upcoming release on Global, given that the Kashiwa Kinen is one of her goal races.

This made me imagine a dirt track race Shirogane is trying, but she is there with Haru. Shiro already Infamous at That point, all the other umas tremble. Except Haru. SHE is Just excited.

Shiro and Haru share 2 place. Their Battle Was LEGENDARY

(it represented amongst the videos in the game - it grants ninja costume for Haru)

It would be extremely funny if Haru Urara is known for always coming in last or close to it... except specifically when she is racing with Shiro, because she's about the only honse completely unphased by Shiro's intimidating pressure. Which ends up making Haru look like just as much of a terminator as Shiro for the duration of the race, as whoever is actually in front of them feels twice the pressure compared to Shiro's normal, both her and Haru giving off that real "have you ever umapyoied with your life on the line" energy. XD

It sorta makes sense in a allegorical way.

Haru Urara, as a horse, never really was racing the other horses, she was racing to stay alive. Always safely, joyfully, consistently. She was metaphorically racing death in each race, and given that real horse has passed on...It makes sense for Haru to not hold any fear towards Shirogane both from her personality and on the spiritual/metaphorical lense.

Exactly!

I can imagine this scene in the anime with some heavy METAL Soundtrack... Or! I am now influenced by my YouTube feed. Imagined a potential scene for anime.

Somewhat long dirt track. The heroic protagonist pace chaser Uma with Heroic music in the background struggle to overcome her fear. She have a bold Plan to overcome the Menacing White Phantom - Shirogane.
The race enters second half and cunning Plan of heroine is enacted. She start to accelerate a little earlier with carefully calculated vectors in her mind on which she worked with her trainer and friends. Soon there is only one Uma before her,the rest are too intimidated to close the distance.
She is focusing on the pale figure before her. She is hopefull. She can do it with power of Friendship! And her wits! She can win!
Suddenly, music stops. The silence is so heavy what it became sound of it's own. The heroine hears her own breath and nervously glances back. There is a Shadow there. It is tinted pink. It have Blazing Red Eyes. And Bright wide wild smile with all the teeth!
The music slowly picks up. It was not silence, the first notes of New OST Was Just quiet.
(New OST https://youtube.com/watch?v=sCxtqZ5KfpE&si=vmQCwta65o6P5lHx)

The mouth of Haru Urara doesn't move, but the message this smile convey is crystal clearto the heroine. And we as viewers can hear it. It is amazing work of her voice actrees! The normally excited bubble replaced with calm and collected voice. She says:
"You don't seem to understand. This dirt track is not yours to conquer."
Guitar rifts start as Haru Uraru accelerates. And the heroine what she Will be flattened by Haru Urara' strade if she continue to gawk in horror.
She forgets her Plan, she no longer glances back. She no longer feel her legs. All she can feel is the breath of the Monster on the back of her neck. She prays internally, there is no breath to scream externally. Her eyes vibrate in their orbits, she sees Just enough to make next step. Time stretches meaningles in the Wake of True fear.

Something changes. The heroine can not help herself. She glances back.

There is two of them there now. Two menacing Shadows right behind her. They are different, yet equally terrifying. They seemingly fill her entire view. She can can not help it. She screams.

And crosses the finish line

We hear announcers voice: "... And in unexpected turn of events Happy Meek wins her first major race! Wait a moment! YES, we have confirmation from photofinish crew! Srirogane Orzel and Haru Urara share the Second place..."
---
Performing her Victory dance on the stage with both Monsters, Happy Meek thanks Goddesses for her naturally subdued mimic. She can not let the Monsters, no! She can not let anyone learn what she won not because of her talents or support of her friends, but because of her fear. She makes a vow That day. So, after her interview she obtain reputation of fearlesness. She dons this deception and embraced Impostor syndrom. No one can ever know!
From That day The press and fans call her [title drop]!

P. S. I am not well verse in the lore, but when the game Just came out and I started to play Happy Meek was kinda final boss figure to me. However in this instance she is not the final boss yet. And, yes, I have read Caiaphas Cain fanfic story recently.

Here she can be replaced if more well versed in the lore people can point more suitable candidate.

Clearly, this actually didn't happen, she was so terrified. She imagine that shit. lol. Haru still a happy go lucky girl during the race. Still, the voice actor was impeccable here.
