This is also true of bad actors looking to empty your wallet which, due to lack of regulation, you have no recourse for. And this is one of dozens immense drawbacks to crypto.
No, if it accepted worldwide customers it'd be a lot more than that. Visa/MasterCard debanked anything that touches the Australian prostitution industry, for instance, causing major headaches.

They can take the money, sure, but if someone empties your bank account, at least in my country, banks are obligated to fix the mistake they made by letting someone access your account (Edit: additionally, trying to empty an account in the first place raises all sorts of red flags with a bank that usually cause them to delay any transfers until they can confirm its you). With crypto, the best you'll get is a polite go fuck yourself. So this response is reductive and inaccurate by way of ignoring context. But we're getting off topic.

If cryptocurrencies actually worked as they were advertised, and weren't in fact little more than a total scam designed to let whoever runs the coin to pull the rug out of everyone at a moment's notice, this suggestion would have merit. Unfortunately as has been shown time and time again, that's all that cryptocurrencies are, so this is a terrible idea.
Nobody is forcing you to use crypto if you dislike it.
I'd say it's gonna depend on how much start-up capital they have access to. If they don't have enough, their competitors might just try to bury them in legal costs until they go bankrupt. They could also run a smear campaign where they associate in people's minds the name of the new card with porn specifically, so that anyone who gets this card will be ashamed to let other people know he has one (specifically, wives will shame their husbands about it). Guys will still get the card, but it will be hard to generate widespread interest against this counter-signal of, "You only want that card so you can look at titties".
