Chapter 45 New
Time seemed to pass by quickly, around three hours later, having already leveled up and kept going, Alan quickly felt the speed of his levels start going down much faster than he had expected.

'The amount of exp doubles every time that I level up, I guess it makes sense for this dungeon to had different types of monsters inside of it or I'd be stuck here for years to reach level fifty.' Alan thought to himself as he looked around the alley quickly to see if anything was closeby to him before releasing a soft sigh and looking down at the spear in his hand.

He had already put the makeshift knife spear that he had crafted back inside his inventory and instead he had bought the spear that he had unlocked with the level two system shop.

Looking down at the basic steel combat spear, he felt a soft smile show on his lips.

The spear was long, longer than the one he had crafted himself, reaching a complete length of two meteres long. Thankfully, it wasn't made entirely just from steel, only the tip of it was, meanwhile the rest of the body was made from what appeared some kind of extremely elastic wood and even that part was covered in a layer of some kind of material that made it more grippy and less likely to slip from his hand.

The tip of the spear was a long arrow head that had a sharpened tip aswell as was sharpened on both sides so that it could slice and pierce at the same time whichever he choose to do in any kind of situation.

'It's most definitely higher durability… but that's not even the best part, its the damage.' Alan thought to himself as he used his observation skill on the spear as the holographic panel appeared before him in an instant, floating in the air right before him.

[ Observation Skill has been used! ]

[ Basic Combat Spear ] [ Level 2 ]

[ Attack Damage: 10 ]

[ Description: A basic combat ready spear, crafted out of hardened steel, Fraxinus wood aswell as leather. It was created by the system for the user by utilising mana to generate the materials and then granted to the User upon purchase. ]

'Fraxinus wood… I didn't even know that kind of wood existed, I knew of Oak, maple, birch and that kind of stuff, not some kind of mythical name or whatever that is.' Alan thought to himself as he almost felt like releasing a chuckle, he had been very excited when he had first bought the spear but that excitement had quickly faded once he continued having to fight thoe damned slimes that had attacked him numerous times by this point.

One had even managed to finally strike him in the back, the pain had been quite excruciating.

The slime tendril hadn't been able to devour through his armror easily atleast not the leather plates however a splash of it had managed to land on the base of his neck and on his hands, it had instantly given him burns in those spots, as if he had been scalded by a hot iron rod in an instant.

'Status Menu.' Alan thought as he brought up his stats, looking at the progress that he had made in the last few hours whilst fighting the Slimes.

Looking over at his status screen, Alan's eyes widened slightly as he finally showed his first true wide smile, excitement and dopamine instantly starting to rush all over his body at the sight that was before him.

'Finally! Fucking Finally, that damned strength stat, its finally going to reach four special, with that, I should be doing much better but then again this piece of shit dungeon doesn't even have a damned use for attack damage, you cant defeat the slimes no matter how much damage you do, the only way to actually defeat them is to launch a direct attack onto the glass core thats inside their bodies.' Alan thought, as the excitement dwindled slightly however he quickly shook his head to get the almost depressing thought out of his mind.

'Doesn't matter, currently my strength is limiting my agility by quite a bit, the higher it is, the better. I need atleast a base of five to fully use my agility so that's good.' Alan thought to himself as he turned and started walking back towards the main road, he had already gone a long ways inside the alley and it would take him a few hours until he returned.

'There, should be a few slimes that have respawned by now aswell and I also wanted to check out if they had a specific weakness that i think they might have. Their slime thing is extremely similar to a snails, and snails quickly die if you through salt at the because it absorbs the water properties that they have, would something like that work on these things? I dont just have to be strong and fast afterall… maybe I can defeat them using other stuff aswell.' Alan thought as he quickly brought out his system shop and headed inside the items subcategory and bought a one kilogram bag of salt for two bronze coins.

'This thing… why is it so expensive, thang god that I learned that I can convert one silver coin into five bronze coins or id be stuck going back to that dummy dungeon and I really dont want to.'

If you're not going to combine the small uploads can you at least fix the spacing please?

I don't understand why each block of text is separated by two empty lines, and each "gamer" segment is double spaced.

The game segments need to be compressed together to take up the last amount of space possible. Preferably even inside a collapsable drop-down, because the reality is literally nobody cares about the raw-stats. They're completely meaningless, and only used as a crutch to quantify some semblance of the MC's power.

There is no reason for each tiny segment of text to contain two spaces between each block. Feels like I have to go searching for the actual story not only because there's so little of it, but also because its so spread out for no reason. It really makes it a chore to read.

Chapter 46 New
Looking back at the unused stat points, Alan didn't hesitate even for a second longer as he instantly dumped all sixty of the new points he had gained into the strength stat.

[ Strength: 90/150 ] -> [ Strength: 150/150 ] [ Max ]

Instantly as soon as the normal stats were maxed, Alan instantly felt it, a subtle yet clear change in his body, a sudden rush of adrenaline and dopamine going through his body at the same time or atleast thats what it felt like, as his palms started sweating slightly whilst his pupils dilated for a brief second before all the changes finished and his body returned to its natural state once more.

'Allright… all that's left to do now is level up once so that I can breakthrough and after that… I just need one more upgrade to strength to get back to my baseline.' Alan thought to himself as he released a soft sigh of relief and continued on his way.

As he walked back towards the main road, he encountered six more green slimes, giving him a total of 300 experience points, not a lot in comparison to what he needed however it was still a sizeable amount.

Finally after what he felt like hours, he arrived back at the edge of the dark alley, the alley walls and ground had once more returned to the polished concrete and metalic slabs for the buildings instead of the moss, gravel and run down area he had been in whilst deep inside the alley.

'That part was honestly barely standing… still… I don't suppose that it would fall down… or maybe it could, I'm unsure what the dungeon will do at this point in time.' Alan thought as he looked around quickly once he arrived at the edge of the main street, finding no one around him, he opened his system dungeon menu.

Instantly the blue holographic panel appeared before him, floating there in the air.

[ System Dugeons ]

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 1 ] [ Join ]

[ Slime Dungeon ] [ Level 5 ] [ Leave ]

[ ??? Dungeon ] [ Level 50 ]

[ ??? Dungeon ] [ Level 100 ]

..

Lifting his hand, he quickly pressed on the leave button and then instantly proceed to click the confirmation.

Once more, his vision quickly dwindled into darkness as his senses were removed one after the other, starting with sight and finishing with touch.

For a brief moment, he was once more in that floating darkness, his thoughts were nonexistent at this point, he had gone through too much to give much attention or to care about the process, something like this wasn't even scary to him, not after what he had seen and experienced.

A mere second later, he once more found himself laid back on his bed inside his apartment.

The morning light hitting his profile from the small window to the side.

Slowly getting up whilst using his hands as support, Alan turned towards the left wall where a small run down wall clock was.

'Eight… seems like classes already started huh. Guess, I'll be late for the first one. Better hurry up, don't really want to deal with school bullshit aswell.' Alan thought to himself as he got up and quickly changed into another pair of clothes, even though he didn't have many, he didn't particularly fancy going to school for three days in a row with the very same outfit.

Putting on an old white turtleneck sweater, a black jacket that had a few cuts into it and a pair of black faded jeans aswell as a pair of black boots, he quickly finished dressing up whilst he simply threw his used clothes back onto the bed before turning and heading out of the small apartment.

Walking down the stairs and then heading into the street down below, Alan's eyes were narrowed, he was deeply in thought about everything that had happened to him in the last twenty four hours and then in the entirety of the three days.

'I got overconfident, i leveled up and I was growing stronger and I thought that I could do anything, I had a system afterall, I thought that everything would be going well. Well my ass, I got drugged like a dumbass, because I looked for the drugs myself as if I could do something against supernatural creatures, im part elf? Who the hell cares, all my physical abilities are just like a humans, heck I'm weaker than a regular human.' Alan thought as felt like punching himself.

Lifting his head slightly higher, he walked slightly faster as he gazed at the sky above him, the regular real sky with clouds covering most of it, so unlike the cloudless sky that he found in the dungeons.

'And then there's the second dungeon… just how did that crimson slime find a human body part? Is it possible that just like the artificial slimes and dummies and other monsters that ill find in the future that the system has the capabilities of making human npcs of sorts?' Alan thought to himself before shaking his head.

It was something that he had been repeating inside his own mind for a while now, however the more he thought about it, the more he realised just how useless those thoughts were. He couldn't know, not now atleast, with his current strength he couldn't even investigate let alone do anything about it.

'It's… let's just head to school and then head back home and continue on the leveling spree. I need to atleast get to level ten, upgrade my strength stat to four and then put some normal stat points into it before I try to head back and defeat the crimson slime.' Alan thought as he kept walking.

Around twenty minutes later, he finally saw the Forks Highschool in the distance. It looked normal, and it was. Yet Alan knew, the normality was fake, and he was sure of it. Atleast with all the events happening all around it.

'Why Forks?' Alan thought to himself.

Chapter 47 New
Walking towards the school whilst he looked around, his mind was still on an almost constant state of alert, no matter how much he tried calming himself down by taking long deep breaths and releasing them slowly as he walked, it wasnt having any effect that was worth mentioning.

'Can't seem to get my heart rate to go to normal either, its not beating super fast exactly but its most definitely faster than it should be normally.' Alan thought to himself as he placed two fingers on the pulse on his wrist before releasing a sigh and closing his eyes for a brief moment and then snapping them open almost instantly as he looked around before continued to walk inside the schools parking lot.

It was at that moment that he saw three people that he wasn't exactly hoping he would meet however he had acted as their friend, he had gone with them, he had laughed with them, he couldn't exactly pretend to not know them now, not when he had just gone to their place yesterday to get drugged up together.

Standing there near the front entrance of the Forks Highschool were the three people that Alan had made as friends.

Jennie, John and Adrian.

Something however clearly was wrong with them, something that Alan noticed almost instnatntly.

'Mana Perception.' Alan thought inside his mind as he activated the skill, as soon as he did, his eyes widened almost imperceptibly as he saw it, their entire bodies were covered in mana, from head to toe, and it wasn't the blue cozy mana that felt like water that he had seen in the baseball bat. No, this mana was a sickly yellow colour that semeed to almost constantly be in erratic motion around them.

In a certain way, it looked closer to vomit than it did to clear water.

'Thats… disgusting. Is that what the drug did to them?' Alan thought to himself as he looked closer at the three of them as he got closer.

Each of them had dark circles under their eyes, the blood in their sclera was bloodshot and their pupils were slightly diluted, they were standing in a way that clearly showed they were completely and utterly exhausted.

"Hey guys, y'all look like you got ran over by a truck. What happened after I left?" Alan asked, simply as he arrived to stand before them, giving them a short wave of his hand in greeting.

The moment he spoke, the three of the students seemed to get out of some kind of stupor as their eyes refocused and then turned to look at Alan.

As soon as they did, Alan felt a shiver run through his entire body. The movement, the moment of refocus, it would have been normal if it wasn't for the fact that all three of them had done it at the exact same time.

"Alan, hey!"

"Alan, hey!"

"Alan, hey!"

All three of them said at the exact same time, all three of them lifting their left arm up and waving back for a moment before lowering it, all three mouths then curling up into a smile that didn't exactly look like a real smile, it looked too forced, too stiff as if it was the smile someone had drawn onto a clay doll.

*Gulp*

'What… the fuck.' Alan thought inside his mind as he instinctively took a brief step back and brought his arms slightly forward in a more defensive position yet trying to not show it to the three of them.

'Observe'. Alan thought to himself as instantly three holographic panels appeared right before him, floating mid air.

[ Observe Skill has been Used. ]

[ John Miller ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level 12 ]

[ Status: Complete Possession ] [ Intelligence Stat: -4 ]

[ Jeannie Adams ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level 9 ]

[ Status: Complete Possession ] [ Intelligence Stat: -4 ]

[ Adrian Stone ]

[ Race: Human ] [ Level 11 ]

[ Status: Complete Possession ] [ Intelligence Stat: -4 ]

'Complete… possession? Its… not just possessed like last time… its complete possession… it could just mean that possession is at one hundred percent… but wouldn't the system just show me that instead then?' Alan thought as he gulped softly, taking another step back unconsciously as his hands turned into fists.

"So… Alan, you… want… to… come… with us… Palm Angels?"

"So… Alan, you… want… to… come… with us… Palm Angels?"

"So… Alan, you… want… to… come… with us… Palm Angels?"

All three of them asked at the same time once more, their fake smilies widening more as they gazed at Alan.

'Hell no, hell in the no no no. I don't fucking wanna.' Alan thought to himself inwardly as he opened his mouth to say something in return, to reject them somehow in someway however he didn't even have to speak as in the very next second, someone else spoke for him.

"I dont think Alan wants to. And besides, me and him have some plans, just the two of us. Maybe another time he can come with you."

The voice said from behind Alan, freezing him still for a moment in shock and even slight relief, even though he didn't even know the person who had spoken, he was thankful that he wasn't alone with these three 'things' infront of him.

Turning his head to look behind him and see who it had been that had helped him, Alans eyes widened as he saw who it had been.

It was someone that he knew, someone that he had exchanged numbers with recently, just yesterday actually.

It was Alice Cullen.

'What… she… is this better or worse… nevermind, it's much fucking better, I don't even know what she is, I don't even care, I havn't seen her possess someone's body before and neither have I seen her devour and digest a human leg. She is the far far far better option than the others, than everyone else. And shes a pretty girl. Save me Alicee!' Alan thought inside his mind as he quickly took a few steps towards her before slowing down.

'Fuck… can't actually be too excited, this is still like the ol saying, between a rock and a hard place.'

Chapter 48 New
Standing in between Alice Cullen and the three of his friends who had gone under possession, Alan felt like he was fighting a losing battle.

'Who do I, even chose in this kind of positon? One of them is something that I don't even know and the other is some kind of magical monster that's inside their mind. Still… they do have their intelligence lowered, I wonder if maybe that was also one of the reasons as to why the thing didn't act or do anything? It truly thought that I would follow it's lead and then head back and grab some of the drug for myself?' Alan thought to himself as he walked closer and stood next to Alice.

"Yeah, we did have plans didn't we?" Alan said out loud as he forced a cheery smile onto his expression whilst he gazed at her.

"Yeah, you promised me yesterday, didn't you?" Alice asked as her expression similarly turned into one of joy, though in comparison to the one that Alan was sporting, it clearly looked much more real, or maybe simply more practiced.

'I wonder though, is that expression real or is that just a practiced act? Doesn't matter… not now atleast.' Alan thought to himself as he turned towards Jeannie, Adrian and John and gave an obviously fake cough.

"Anyways, I'm heading with her, we got class together and then after, we goin to that place together. Until later guys, ya'll have my number if something comes up." Alan said as he grabbed Alice's arm as he started to walk.

For a brief second, or maybe even faster, it was like he was trying to move a tectonic plate, cold, hard and utterly immovable and then in the next second she started walking with him towards the schools front entrance.

Leaving the trio behind them.

"Alright Alan, We'll call you, We can go get the thing this weekend… together"

Alright Alan, We'll call you, We can go get the thing this weekend… together"

Alright Alan, We'll call you, We can go get the thing this weekend… together"

They all said at the exact same time, with the same tone of voice, the same slightly dull eyes.

Jeannie who had once more been affected the most out of the group was almost drooling at this point and another student who had been late and was passing through clearly avoided the group as much as he could from a distance.

They were the most well known bullies in the entire school and now they were similarly the most well known druggies around town as well, and it wouldn't even take long, rumors spread around really fast especially in a town as small as Forks and even in Forks, the greatest hub or rumors and gossip was the Forks Highschool. By the end of the night, everyone from the kids to the adults would learn of what the young student had seen.

Meanwhile, Alan and Alice had already walked inside the main school building and were walking down the hall.

As they walked, Alan turned his head towards Alice and released a soft sigh of relief.

"Hey… thanks about that back there… those guys seemed a bit weird today, I just wasn't feeling comfortable going with them. I even went with them yesterday to their place… and I just couldn't do it… like they were doing drugs and stuff… maybe its some kind of side effects." Alan muttered under his breath, his voice low as he spoke to Alice who was walking by his side down the school hallway.

"Hey, you don't have to mention it. You promised to be friends with me and all, of course I'd help you out." Alice replied with a giggle at first before her face fell as she donned on a much more serious expression than before.

"But you're right, they didn't really seem to be in their right mind, and the way they were talking was just downright creepy, it was like they had practiced that all night in the mirror or something. Maybe It's just a prank, I really hope so atleast but It didn't seem like it. You should stop associating with those guys, I don't think its a good idea to be around them. You just admitted didn't you? They're not the kind of friends that you'd want around you." Alice spoke, her voice serious for once, and quite lower than the usual cheery and giddy tone that she took whilst speaking to others.

It wasn't just the voice, if one were to look at her eyes, they weren't the regular amber color, they were much much darker than usual, almost nearing pitch black but the pupil and the iris still weren't fully the same colour.

'Ofcourse they're not fucking normal. Now your strong, your a high level, do something about those fucks before they actually start chasing me down or come to my apartment at night.' Alan thought inside his mind as he felt like banging his head onto the wall but he couldn't simply tell her straight up that he knew what was going on or that they were possessed, he could only hope that Alice herself would be suspicious and start investigating them by herself.

"Yeah, I really… I just didn't talk to a lot of people and like a few days ago, I talked to them and we became friends, they aren't… bad people though but I think they've just done something wrong this time and aren't really themselves, they didn't even sound like their usual selves… maybe we should call the police on them or something? Do a drug test and get them some kind of help?" Alan spoke to her as he kept walking down the hallway.

They weren't headed to any class in particular, classes had already started and they wouldn't be allowed to join in halfway through the lesson, instead they were just walking around whilst talking at least until they reached a more secluded corner of the highschool and stopped.

Chapter 49 New
Both of them stopped at the same time as they reached one of the darker corners of the school hallway, once there, they turned to face eachother once more.

As Alan gazed into those dark almost pitch black eyes, he felt a shiver slowly start from the base of his neck and start heading down until the base of his spine.

'Did I get her help… or did i just trade one horror for another?' Alan thought to himself, fear slowly starting to creep up on him before he tightened his hands into fists, his nails almost breaking into his palms as he used the pain to forcibly calm himself down, stomping down onto the emotion of fear as quickly as he could, as his eyes narrowed slightly.

"I'll talk with my father, He's a doctor and he should know what to do, but honestly Alan… maybe you should just leave the matter alone, if they bother you, you can always tell me y'know? I and my family could deter them from getting close to you, even though we dont talk much with the students around here, people still don't really mess with us. Actually I got a really great Idea." Alice said softly as her lips slowly but surely curled up into a smile, that to anyone else might have made her look utterly majestic, as if she was a small pixie from one of those fantasy stories.

And yet… to Alan it looked terrifying, It wasn't that Alice or the rest of the Cullens had even done anything to make him feel this fear, it was a sort of irrational fear that he felt whenever he was close to them, it was a fear that had always been there on the background even when he hadn't known what the Cullens were, it was the reason as to why no students messed with them or tried to bully them even considering their rather unique dating and family situation.

Anyone else in their position would have been relentlessly bullied, and yet no one dared even come close to touching any of them. All the students could do was whisper and gossip rumors about them and that was it.

It was at that moment as Alan was thinking, that he realised this fact aswell, as his mind stopped for a full moment before it reignited with even further fervor than before.

'An Irrational fear… almost like how humans know to fear snakes or other predators that can kill us. Is it similar?' Alan thought to himself before shaking his head.

Alice who was looking at him, at Alan who had still yet to respond to her question and was now looking like he was deep in his thoughts and shaking his head, she raised her hand and put her palm onto his shoulder and shook him lightly, a slightly worried expression on her face, softening the previous terrifying smile to a look of pensive worry that was infinitely softer than the pervious almost predator-like expression.

"Alan? Hey? Are you okay? You're not responding." Alice questioned softly, her voice lower and warmer than before, careful not to jolt him too harshly from his thoughts.

At the sound of her voice, Alan turned towards her and released an outward sigh before giving a soft slow nod of his head as he finally spoke up, escaping out of his mind.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I was just thinking about something. But joining you at your family table? I… that feels like too much, I'm not really used to just joining others at tables, and I'm pretty sure it would be really awkward, your family doesn't even know me and they likely don't want to be bothered during lunch y'know?" Alan said as he tried to softly reject the proposition about joining them at their table during lunch whilst trying to not offend her in any way or capacity.

'Join you? And your supernatural freak family that I just realised causes instinctual fear in humans? Yeah… don't really think I'll be doing that.' Alan thought to himself as he raised his arm and scratched the back of his head awkwardly whilst he looked away from her, feigning a sort of embarrassed look.

"Bother them? You won't be bothering anyone at all. They'll be so happy to meet you, after all you're like the first friend I've made in Forks after all this time." Alice replied quickler, her voice slightly higher pitch as she quickly tried to reassure him.

"Are you really sure about that? Really. Extremely one hundred percent sure that none of them will mind. Not one of them. Don't lie to me Alice." Alan replied back instantly, just as fast as she had reacted to his soft dismissal of the idea, his voice soft yet clearly firm on the no lying part.

For a moment Alice simply looked at him, her pupils seeming to almost turn thinner for a brief flash of a moment before they returned back to normal and she released a soft sigh of exhaustion as she shook her head.

"No… I can't say that. Rosalie will likely disagree with it, and Edward too though he isn't around at the moment." Alice said in reply to his question, her tone of voice defeated as her entire posture seemed to slump slightly at the fact that Alan clearly wouldn't be joining her at the Cullen table.

That sullen look however only seemed to last for a brief second before her face exploded into excitement once more.

"Then I'll just join you at your table. We can just sit together by ourselves. That's the best Idea." Alice said, her voice almost painfully excited, and hope clearly genuinely shining in her eyes.

For a moment, Alan was stumped as he gazed at her expression, at times like these, as much as the instinctual fear wanted to act up… it was simply impossible, how can one be afraid of a girl who clearly wanted to just sit with her friend and eat lunch together with him. It was utterly and completely disarming of all the alarms that had been ringing in his head as soon as she had mentioned the idea of him joining the Cullen table.

Chapter 50 New
'Fine… I guess that's not so bad, and Alice hasn't done anything wrong to me yet, in fact she's even helped me. Maybe just maybe I was judging the book by its cover too hard?' Alan thought to himself, though he was still holding back, he wasn't exactly excited about the idea, however he wasn't completely against it as he had been earlier.

Joining the entire Cullens felt like a deathtrap, he didn't even know the rest and neither had he talked to any of them, however joining just Alice at the table? That felt much safer than the other option.

"Alright… yeah that can work Alice. But yeah, as we were saying, definitely ask your dad about it, they're not a good bunch but they were still nice to me, heck, they even gave me this pair of prescription glasses since I lost mine. So, I guess I'm just sayin, I wish they could come back to normal and leave those drugs they're doin aside." Alan said as he gave a nod of his head, the tone of his voice was softer than usual, he was still hesitant about his decision and about even involving the Cullens into the magical mess that was going on with the three of his friends however he felt like he had no other choice.

'I can't risk it, I can't risk something like the possession thing happening to me again, and It's so easy, you just have to inhale the smoke from the enhanced weed and you get affected, what if the 'thing' manages to create an even more concentrated version or I just get trapped into a room with its smoke, there's dozens of ways that I can lose and lose control of my body and will. The annoying part is that I can't even just tell Alice about it, I don't trust her enough… damned.' Alan thought to himself as he almost felt like releasing his hundredth sigh of the day before stopping himself, maintaining his resigned yet calm facade on the outside.

"Really? Really?" Alice asked quickly, her voice once more regaining its giddy nature as her excitement finally boiled over, unable to hold it back, she started practically jumping on her feet in overzealous excitement at the mere idea of sitting together with Alan for lunch. Her eyes that had gone almost pitch black also slowly started to change colour once more, it was a slow change however Alan who had already caught it happening before was paying extra attention to the small details.

The difference between the colour of the iris and pupil slowly started growing and growing until the pitch black eyes turned back to those beautiful amber eyes, that seemed to shine like gems under light.

'They… they're really beautiful, heck. She is beautiful herself, all of her.' Alan thought to himself for a moment as he gazed at the woman before him before he turned his attention away, not wanting to keep staring at her in wonder as he lifted his hand to his mouth and fake coughed into it.

*Cough* *Cough*

"Anyways, how much more time until class is over and we can go to our next classes?" Alan asked her curiously as he took a few steps back and put his back against the wall of the hallway, leaning against it as he lifted his head to look back at Alice once more.
"Don't know, let me check." Alice said quickly as she took out her blackberry phone and turned it on quickly as she checked the time.

"Around five more minutes more or less. What class you got?" Alice asked curiously as she replied to his question, walking closer to him and leaning against the wall alongside him, one leg turned back and the foot onto the wall, standing only with one foot on the ground whilst her arms were crossed above her head.

Even with her arms in an upright position, she was still quite a bit smaller than Alan who was similarly leaning back next to her on the wall.

"English, It's boring but atleast I won't have to listen to the professor and can just slack off hopefully." Alan replied in an already bored tone at the mere thought of the oncoming classes, in comparison to the activities that he had been doing recently, and the events that were happening around him. Attending classes almost felt like a complete and utter waste of his time, yet he understood that if he wanted to keep going on his life, he needed to atleast complete this last year of highschool.

'I've worked way too hard on the last years for me to just give up the diploma on the last damn year just because some supernatural creep decided to start selling magical drugs to highschoolers. Couldn't he have atleast started selling to criminals or drug addicts, why'd he have to go for students.' Alan thought to himself before turning his head to look at Alice.

"What about you?" He asked curiously as he lifted an eyebrow in question.

"Arts. So I'm good." Alice replied with a giggle as she hid her smile behind the palm of her hand, her eyes seeming to glow with mirth at the difference between her slight excitement to the class and his complete and utter boredom about his.

"Yeah, yeah. Good for you." Alan said in turn with a chuckle of his own as he turned his head to face forwards once more.

For the next few minutes, the two made small talk, it wasn't really anything serious, ranging from the most confusing topics about daily student life, to the most random stuff like how they had seen that student come a month ago with purple hair because his little sister had decided to prank him by switching his shampoo.

Five minutes later, the bell signaling the end of the current classes rang, inside classrooms and on the top of the hallway walls around the school, a loud electronic bell ringing sound that carried throughout the entire Forks Highschool building.

As soon as it did, the sound of students talking much more loudly and chairs scraping on the ground quickly followed, almost instantly after.

"Alright, guess it's time to go, see you at lunch, Alice." Alan spoke as he turned to fully face her once more.

Chapter 51 New
Walking towards his next class, down the hallways that were quickly swarmed by students coming out of classrooms to head to their next classes, Alan was deeply in thought, it was something that he did unconsciously a lot more these days, it wasn't just the system at this point that he was thinking about, and neither was it the supernatural events.

Somehow in the span of barely a few days, Alice had managed to get much closer to him, at first it had been an irrational fear, a fear that he just recognised that he had held, and now after acknowledging that fact, he had somehow slowly started to trust her more, or rather it wasn't trust, it was more like he was opening up to her.

The human mind was a rather fascinating creation, it feared what it did not know and yet it longed to know the unknown at the same time. It was contradictory and yet it was one of the greatest engines in all of creation, it was what had led humanity to thrive in a world where they should have gone extinct long ago by other predators with much greater natural weapons and strengths than them.

And now, Alan had slowly started to become curious, curious about the Cullens, curious about Alice, about why they acted like they did, about what they were and most importantly about the reason as to why Alice seemed to want to befriend him so badly that it clearly showed to anyone watching.

The idea that she was romantically into him, didn't even cross his mind, to him, it was an impossibility and so he didn't even think of it. At most he thought it was some kind of plan for them to blend into society better or maybe just maybe to make a human friend.

'Though… I'm not even really human anymore am I?' Alan thought to himself as he stopped for a moment and turned, looking far down the hallway, Alices back could be seen as she walked away.

'Mana perception.' Alan thought to himself as the skill instantly activated at once.

[ Mana Perception has been activated! ]

As soon as it did, the world which was as bland as ever instantly gained mesermising supernatural colours.

Looking at her back, he instantly saw something that had previously been hidden out of sight for him, the colour of mana that he had previously seen on things like the three bullies, his friends, and then on the baseball bat and the items created by the system. It was surrounding Alice, and yet it wasn't the blue colour from the system and neither was it the sickly yellow of John, Jeannie and Adrian. It was a colour he had never seen before.

A very dark, almost bloody crimson aura that surrounded her, the movement of it was slower than the blue mana and much less erratic than the movements of the sickly yellow mana that came from those possessed. It looked as if a film of blood was surrounding her entire body and moving around slowly almost protectively around her body. And the other major difference that he could see clearly as day was the density and saturation of it. It was thicker, and much much denser than any other mana coating that he had seen before.

It looked so thick and clear that he was sure he could have noticed it even from hundreds of meters away.

'What is that? Why… is it that thick? Is it because of her strength or mana quantity or maybe the quality of it is just much higher? Does mana have quality ratings? And why is it that bloody dark crimson… its most definitely not… human thats for sure, or maybe it is? Maybe every person has a different colour to their mana?' Alan thought to himself before he turned away once more and continued walking down the hallway.

The next few classes passed by swiftly with Alan mostly dozing through them, his mind on a completely different plane. The more he figured out, the stronger he grew by using the system, the more questions he got. It seemed like the mysteries would never end, that he would never get all the answers to the questions he had.

'Stronger… the stronger I get, the more information I can gain. If i was strong enough, I could fight and protect myself, I could go and find the drug supplier and the thing that's possesing the three of them without having to worry, but alas, as my current self, the best I can do is hand the job over to Alice and the Cullens and hope that they deal with it themselves.' Alan thought as the bell signaling the end of the class rang out, students quickly getting up from their seats and heading out of the classroom towards the cafeteria hall for their lunch break.

Getting up from his seat and taking his books in hand, Alan walked out of the classroom and towards his locker.

As he walked, he saw something he hadn't expected, students were glancing at him not so subtly, as they talked with themselves. Straining himself whilst pretending to be occupied, he tried to listen in on the conversation.

"Isn't that the Alan kid that was hanging around with those guys? They were just bullies but now their druggies, you think he sold it to them?"

"Maybe? I mean, he always kept to himself and never talked, he's pretty weird."

"No, I actually think he didn't do it, Alan's never really bothered anyone, and the guy said that Alan rejected them when they asked him to come with them."

"Really?"

"Yeah"

A soft expression of surprise appeared on Alan's face as he tried to keep his gaze only on his locker as he shoved the books inside and closed the locker door softly.

'I obviously stayed with them a lot, and even skipped with them, I expected them to instantly put me on the same level as them… is it charisma?' Alan thought to himself curiously.

Ok so a bit of an update? I read like 10 chapters and the entire time MC does nothing but bitch and bitch and bitch and bitch some more. Most of it is his fault. Most of his thoughts makes me wanna punch him etc etc. A simple piece of advice from me would be to try and make your MC likeable. Feel free to ignore this if this advice makes you angry for some reason and forget about it.

Chapter 52 New
'It likely is, I just didn't expect for it to be this effective, all the rumors that should have spread about me, they're practically gone before they even had the chance to start, it's like people are more inclined to believe in my so called 'goodness' than the fact that I might have been the drug dealer or even really associated with them' Alan thought to himself as he closed his locker door and turned around, heading towards the cafeteria as he walked past students who kept gossiping around the events that had happened today.

Only one other student had seen the scene besides Alice and Alan and yet in less than an hour, the entire school seemed to know about it already.

'Man… highschool gossip really does spread fast.' Alan though as he gently shook his head and put his hands into his jean pockets as he arrived at the cafeteria, opening the double doors and heading inside, he quickly looked around, noticing the usual groups of students, the jocks, the nerds, the famous girl groups and the rest.

His eyes caught onto Bella Swan's image for a moment before he turned away, not thinking much about the brown haired girl, whilst sure she most definitely had something special about her, in comparison to the recent events, she had fallen far down below in the matter of things inside Alan's head, if he was being honest with himself, he had almost even forgot she existed for a while.

As he turned his gaze away from Bella and her group that she had already found herself in, consisting of Jessica, Angela, Eric and Mike, Alan found his gaze landing on an empty table that was way far into the back of the cafeteria. It was close to the Cullen table, and sitting right there, alone, by herself as promised was Alice Cullen, her hair as always in a pixie cut, her eyes shining a bright amber and a gentle yet clearly excited smile on her face.

'How does someone even manage to look both gentle and excited at the same time… perks of being beautiful or something?' Alan thought to himself in slight confusion at how his mind had come up with that conclusion about her combination of emotions from one simple glance.

Walking past the first few tables, Alan quickly arrived to stand before the table as he lifted his hand in a small shy wave.

"Hey Alice." He spoke, his voice lower than usual before he grabbed the chair opposite to her and sat down, not bothering to get any food from the cafeteria at all.

Alice meanwhile had already gotten herself a tray of food aswell as an apple, though it remained completely untouched right before her.

"Hey Alan, glad you came." Alice replied with a smile as she looked at him, for a moment she looked as if she was completely and utterly absorbed into gazing at Alan before the moment broke and she leaned slightly back.

Alan's eyes lowered to her tray before they slowly lifted back up to her face as he raised an eyebrow.

"Not going to eat?" Alan asked curiously as he crossed his arms over his chest comfortably and laid back more on his own chair.

"Not really hungry, I was for a bit but then decided I wasn't. Im kind of an impulsive person I guess." Alice replied with a giggle as she shook her head clearly indicating that no, she wasn't going to eat the food.

'Now that I think about it… have I ever seen the Cullens actually chew on something? Or eat anything at all?' Alan thought to himself as his mind went back to all the previous times he had seen the Cullens, his memory was good, and every since his intelligence stat had become a ten after the system, it had become freakishly good, and yet he couldn't find a single memory of them eating, not a single one.

'What… fuck, so they don't eat regular food? That… gives me more doubts about just what do they eat, a living organism can't survive on nothing and even the system can't create from nothing, it takes up mana… then what do these guys eat?' Alan thought whilst outwardly, he released a soft hum in agreement to her statement.

"I'm similar in a way, I kind of just go with the flow, not really the type of person to do impulsive things, but if something does happen accidentally, I just go with it. I guess I'm the middle ground between Impulsive and ordinary?" Alan replied to her with a shrug of his shoulders as his eyes swerved towards the Cullen table.

"Oh, see! We were made to be friends together, I do the impulsive things and you just go along with them, the best duo ever." Alice said instantly after Alan had spoken his piece about himself, her smile widening further and a slight gleam of teeth showing, her pupils almost seemingly becoming dazed for a moment.

Turning his gaze away from the Cullen table, Alan looked at her expression and almost felt a shiver run through him at the sight.

"Right, yeah best duo ever. Anyways, your fam didn't have any problems with you sitting here?" Alan asked curiously as he lifted an eyebrow.

Alan's question pierced through the slight daze that Alice had gone into as she frantically nodded her head a moment later.

"They didn't mind at all, infact Jasper and Emmet are happy that I'm socialising more." Alice replied with a giddy tone of voice as she leaned forward, closer to Alan.

"What about your sister?" Alan questioned, Rosalie was the one he knew would have a problem, he didn't think he had ever seen a person radiate more antisocial behaviour than her in his entire life.

"She doesn't matter." Alice replied, whilst still keeping that exact same smile on her face, her response instant.

"Riight…" Alan muttered in slight exasperation as he nodded his head at her whilst inwardly releasing a sigh of slight regret.

Chapter 53 New
'What did I expect from someone like her anyways.' Alan thought to himself as he had unconsciously turned his gaze back to the Cullens, and he saw all of them looking towards him, those eyes, the exact same colouring on each of them, fixed directly into his own pupils.

This time, the shiver than went through him wasn't something he could stop, it was like he was facing a group of lions in the middle of a jungle, every other sound seemed to become muted for a second, as Alan's pupils tightened visibly whilst his body grew rigid, just like a prey animal in front of it's natural predator.

This however only lasted for a brief second as all three pair of amber eyes quickly swerved away to gaze at each other instead of Alan.

For a brief moment, Alan was confused, before slowly his head turned until he was staring at his side where he found Alice, still there, still gazing at him and yet her amber eyes had changed dramatically from just a brief second before, they were dark, unfathomably darker than before.

'What just happened?' Alan thought to himself as the confusion in his mind deepened.

If one were to turn back time a mere few seconds ago, and have had a supernatural level of perception then they would have noticed what had happened.

"Alice… you are making the wrong move, he already suspects something, the question about the food and then him not responding for a bit, he was clearly thinking. This is a dangerous game for all of us that you are thrusting us into. Tell him to fuck off and come back here." Rosalie had spoken, her voice a mere hush said at supernatural speeds that carried and was heard to only three other people in the entire cafeteria, Alice Cullen, Jasper Hale and Emmet Cullen.

"Come on Rose, Carlisle let her do whatever she wanted with her mate, let's not do this here." Emmet spoke after, his voice and tone clearly trying to placate his own mate as he put a hand on her thigh.

"Shut up Emmet." Rosalie had hissed right back whilst Jasper who had been silent this entire time was constantly trying to calm the woman whilst using his gift however these days with the tensions growing higher, he was finding it harder and harder to do so, especially the emotions of Alice Cullen who was further away from them and as he sensed was currently like a volcano on the verge of eruption at the mere fact that Rosalie had told her to tell Alan to fuck off.

The fact that he was surrounded by so many humans who smelled like the greatest delicacy to someone of his kind wasn't helping the fact much if at all.

"Rose… stay in your lane." Alice spoke back from Alan's table, her head swerving towards Rosalie, her amber eyes instantly darkening to a pitch black colour, and her teeth almost fully showing.

The trio at the cullen table had turned to face her for a brief moment before their eyes had landed onto Alan and then they had turned away once more, this time at regular speeds.

Almost the entire situation had gone unnoticed by every single other person besides the family members, everything had occurred either with them talking at supernatural speeds or moving their gazes at speeds that the other humans hadn't even been able to see them move at.

Meanwhile Alan who still remained completely oblivious to the situation lifted his hand and grabbed the apple that Alice had gotten as part of her lunch tray.

"You don't mind if i take this apple right? Since you're clearly not eating it, or we could share if you want?" Alan said as he tried to show the confusing woman before him a smile, though it was clearly a struggling one.

Alice's eyes slowly moved down towards the apple before they lifted back up to Alan's own eyes and for a second she seemed to instantly want to reject it, at least until a moment later she released a sigh and nodded her head.

"Alright, just a little since you're offering." She relented as she released a soft sigh.

Alan's eyes widened for a moment as he stared at her before nodding as he took the small knife besides the tray and cut the apple in half before offering one side to her and taking one side himself, as he took a bite out of it and started chewing, his mind once more in slight disarray.

'So… she can eat? Was I wrong about that then? Maybe they can eat regular food but just don't need to?' Alan thought to himself, in slight confusion as Alice proved his previous theory about them not eating human foods or being incapable of it wrong as his eyes closely watched her take her half of the apple and bring it to those pale lips and take a bite out of it with a loud crunching sound.

'Just… what is she then? At first, I thought she was some kind of like ghoul who eats human flesh or something because of that crimson aura and the fact that she doesn't eat human food but that's clearly wrong.' Alan thought to himself, he still knew that she wasn't normal, there was no way she was, but now his slight theory about what she could have been was completely thwarted.

'So a creature that does eat human food… do I have to find some kind of monster encyclopedia or something?' Alan thought as he released a inward sigh, his head slumping slightly.

Meanwhile Alice who was chewing the apple turned her head at speeds beyond human limits as soon as Alan's eyes had turned slightly down and spat out the chewed apple bite far away to the corner before turning her head back instantly and pretending that she had swallowed.

"Ew… it's kinda gross, like I only did it for you y'know?" Alice said with a giggle as she put her half of the apple down onto the table once more.

Chapter 54 New
'Barely…. But rosalie… she was right in a way… this way, it'll at least stop him from thinking of anything that comes too close to home. Look however much you want for now Alan… I'm just a regular girl who's really really into you.' Alice thought to herself as she gazed into his eyes, her smile lifting up softly as the memory of the absolutely disgusting human food slowly flew away from her mind.

She had done one thing right, in a way she had indeed pulled Alan away from his thoughts of human eating monsters but she had completely failed to convince him that she was a human, afterall… he already knew at least that much simply from the system.

Minutes passed slowly as the two continued to almost dance around each other in the conversations, Alan making soft quips that he tried to use to gain more information on what she was, whilst Alice on the other hand kept trying to trick him into believing that she was just a regular girl with a crush.

It was almost painful to watch, if someone who knew both of them were to be next to them, their annoyance would likely cause a cholesterol problem.

Finally, half an hour later, the bell signaling the end of the lunch period rang as Alan slowly rose up from his seat and look down towards Alice.

"I'll get going them, also the part about going out after school was just a joke right? Because I don't really have much time to do it, maybe another day?" Alan said, his voice gentler than it had been before, and for the first time in a while when facing Alice, it was almost genuine.

"Oh I mean… I hoped it was real, but if your really busy, I guess I can't complain much. But I'll hold you to that 'another day', don't leave me next time alright?" Alice said back with a teasing voice as she slowly rose up from her own chair and walked to Alan before lightly bumping her shoulder with his.

The other students all around them were already out of the cafeteria by this point or already close to the exit and currently walking out. The rest of the Cullens as always had already long left and gone about their own ways, the last to enter the cafeteria at lunch and the first to leave it as usual.

"Alright, well then I'll get going. See you tomorrow then?" Alan asked with a raised eyebrow as he slightly turned his body away.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow Alan." Alice replied softly with a light sigh though her lips as they always were when facing Alan, were turned upwards, it was clear that she was seemingly enjoying every single moment, even this moment of temporary parting.

'Weirdo… but nice enough.' Alan thought to himself as he fully completed his turn and started walking away, step after step until he was out of the cafeteria and into the schools hallways, the students having already gone to their lockers and took out their books to head to their next classes.

Walking towards his own locker and opening it, Alan quickly looked at his schedule calendar.

'Today's Wednesday? Man… time really does fly by, I almost feel like I just got the system and it's monday. Yet at the same time, It feels so slow, so much stuff has happened and yet barely three days have passed. The first day, meeting the guys, the second day where i went to their place and then today and most of last night…' Alan thought to himself as he gently shook his head before releasing a slow tired sigh.

At this point, Alan almost felt like he would have already aged ten years had it not been for that small percentage elf that he had become.

'Alright, let's just go.' He thought as he took his books and turned, walking towards his next class, which happened to be spanish.

Heading inside the classroom, he walked towards his usual seat at the very back, next to the window and sat down, before completely turning off his brain as he dozed off, his mind flying away into the distance.

Time kept passing, slowly but surely, the hours changed, the classes changed and soon enough, the last bell signalling the end of classes for the day rang, its sound being heard all around the entire school building, in every hallway and classroom.

*Riiiiinnnnngg*

'Finally.' Alan thought as he lifted his hand, holding it to his mouth as he released a long tired yawn before getting up from his seat and walking towards the exit of the school.

It didn't take long for him to navigate through the hallways which for a certain Bella Swan had been quite confusing, thankfully she was usually always with atleast one of her new friends.

She was walking a few feet ahead of Alan, together with Angela Weber.

'Hum… that's Bella, this is the first time besides that one time in bio that we were this close.' Alan thought curiously though he didn't bother trying to start an interaction, he was sure that she was human however he didn't know what exact gift she had, but something told him, something that he suspected was his charisma told him that unlike Alice, Bella wasn't faking her expressions or moods, she really was a clumsy highschool girl.

Soon after, Alan and the rest of the students exited the main school building, once in the front parking lot, many of them headed to their own old beat up cars, just like Bella Swan headed to her old barely functional orange truck or they headed to their new shiny cars, though that was only the Cullens.

Alan meanwhile headed down the road on foot, he had neither a car, nor a motorcycle or even a simple bicycle.

'Someday, someday.' Alan thought as he walked down the road, humming slightly under his breath.

He had managed to at least somewhat forget what had happened, though it was still a thing he was thinking about, he had calmed down a lot about todays events, he expected the Cullens to deal with the problems.

At least until he arrived before his apartment building… He wasn't the only one there.

Although that elf "perk" was a complete scam anyway and gave him nothing.

Chapter 55 New
Arriving before his apartment, Alan gaze landed on three people that he had really really not expected to be there and neither had he wanted for them to be there either.

It was his three friends, the three bullies who he had befriended, and the three people that he had somewhat grown attached to even though only slightly, it was the three people that had quickly befriended him, helped him and treated him as one of their own almost instantly, so to say that he wasn't even slightly attached to them would be a lie.

Humans are social creatures afterall, and Alan had quickly grown used to them, their jokes and their humor, he had started to enjoy their presence. Atleast…when they were 'them'.

But the three people standing in front of him, standing before his apartment, weren't his friends, they were someone else, or rather 'something' else.

Instantly activating his mana perception, Alan quickly noticed that indeed, the same sickly yellow aura was still fully covering their bodies.

'God damned it.' Alan thought to himself as he instinctively took a step back before stopping as his lips curled up in a twitching smile, or at least he tried his best to do the best impression of a calm smile that he could.

"Alan… It's great that we saw you leaving alone… It's much better to come with us… your real friends rather than someone like her."

"Alan… It's great that we saw you leaving alone… It's much better to come with us… your real friends rather than someone like her."

"Alan… It's great that we saw you leaving alone… It's much better to come with us… your real friends rather than someone like her."

The three of them said at the same time as their lips curled up further and further until all three of them were giving wide toothy grins towards him, that wasn't the end of it however as they started walking towards Alan slowly, it wasn't just slow movement, or a slow walk, the way they were doing it… it was off, Jeannie looked like she was about to fall down after every step that she took, only for her to reposition her foot at the last second to stop the fall.

John meanwhile swayed as if he was completely drunk on his feet and Adrian, seemed to be the only one that had somewhat remained decently standing, if one wasn't looking at his arms that is, his arms were completely limp at his sides, as if he had lost all control over them.

The sight caused an image to instantly appear in Alan's mind. It was as if they were wooden marionette puppets being controlled by a clumsy puppeteer from above them.

"I don't think I can come with you today guys, how about we meet over the weekend, that was the plan anyways, wasn't it?" Alan said as he lifted one arm to scratch the back of his neck, a nervous tick when faced with the stressful situation before him.

"Weekend… too far away… we already ran out Alan, we need more… more… more." Jeannie said as she kept half walking, half almost falling towards Alan before she stopped right before him, John and Adrian flanking her on the sides.

"Ah… then can you just let me go get some stuff in my apartment and I can come back down and then we can go there, it's in port angeles anyways so we need to take the car and drive right?" Alan said as he looked past them towards the door of the apartment building.

'They don't have superhuman levels of strength or anything, the drug doesn't do that… infact theyr even slower and weaker whilst under this possession effect… so… as long as the real 'thing' doesn't appear here.' Alan thought as his gaze turned back down towards the three of them, his eyes narrowing slightly as logic cut through the almost paralyzing feeling of fear that he had been feeling.

He was indeed right, the current motor skills that the trio had shown were much much weaker than the skills of any other regular person, not to mention the fact that they were practically as dumb as rocks in their current state, this would mean that they likely didn't have any real plan in place.

"It… is fine." The thing controlling them said by using Jeannies mouth as the trio looked directly into Alan's pupils with their own dazed and slightly faded eyes.

'It's fine?' Alan thought slightly confused at the agreement, if they allowed him to go to his room, he could simply slip away by using the emergency stairs and find a hiding spot and continue living inside the dungeons until he grew strong enough, it would be an easy escape path for him.

As Alan started nodding his head, taking one step forwards to head past them, he stopped as the trio spoke once more, this time, all three of them speaking as they had earlier, in complete eerie synchronisation with eachother.

"They… are here. In Forks. No… need for Car. They are coming here… they should be near."

"They… are here. In Forks. No… need for Car. They are coming here… they should be near."

"They… are here. In Forks. No… need for Car. They are coming here… they should be near."

Alan froze, the words kept repeating inside his mind over and over again, like a sick mantra of doom, his pupils widening until they no longer could from shock as he instantly took a few steps back, his arms that had been at his sides lifting up slightly in a more reactive defensive posture, his hands shaking badly as his eyes moved left and right constantly, searching for someone, anything really, however he couldn't see anything but the regular street and buildings and the clearly irregular trio in front of him.

*Gulp*

Swallowing audibly, Alan concentrated his gaze back onto the three of them once more as his hands slowly tightened into fists, hard enough that his nails dug into the base of his palm and drew blood.

"They're… here?" Alan asked slowly, his mouth barely working at this point, the shock was slowly wearing off and being replaced by absolute terror, if the thing that had created those drugs was coming here… he needed to run, and he needed to run to the only place that he knew would be safe.

Chapter 56 New
For a moment, the trio, Jeannie, John and Adrian didn't respond, their eyes half lidded and dazed as they started at Alan, their smiles gone from their faces, their expressions a complete deadpan, giving nothing away.

Seconds passed slowly, they felt like hours to Alan who felt like he would be drugged, possessed or worse at any second by now.

It was at that moment, that a change occurred, the trio finally reacted to Alan's question as their lips slowly curled up once more, it wasn't a wide toothy smile this time, instead it was a small barely noticeably quirk of the ends of their lips, an almost gentle smile as their eyes widened and the dazed look, the faded pupils seemingly focusing for a brief second.

And then they spoke, in a perfect voice, their original voice, it was as if the previous clumsy control that the thing had over them had vastly improved in the span of a few seconds.

"I… am already here. Alan Walker."

"I… am already here. Alan Walker."

"I… am already here. Alan Walker."

Alan's eyes widened and he didn't hesitate even for a single second, as he instantly opened his system panel.

'System Dungeon, System fucking dungeon, open, open.' Alan screamed inside his own mind as the system holographic panel instantly appeared before him, floating infront of his face and blocking the eerie sight of his three friends for a moment.

[ System Dungeon ]

[ Dummy Dungeon ] [ Level 0 ] [ Join ]

[ Slime Dungeon ] [ Level 5 ] [ Join ]

[ ??? Dungeon ] [ Level 50 ]

[ ??? Dungeon ] [ Level 100 ]

..

'Join slime dungeon, join, yes confirm, just fucking join.' Alan thought almost instantly as soon as the holographic screen appeared before him.

"What… are you doing mister Alan?" Another voice asked, it wasn't a voice he recognised, it wasn't the voice of Jeannie, or the voice of John and neither was it the voice of Adrian.

It was soft, velvety and somewhat gave a posh accent feeling to the listener, but most importantly, it was coming from right in front of him.

Alan's eyes couldn't even widen any further than they already had, as his vision started darkening as the transmission to the dungeon started, and in those last moments before his vision fully darkened, he saw someone lean forwards from behind him, from over his left shoulder, putting their head before him as they turned and gazed directly at Alan.

It was a beautiful face, with dark hair and blue eyes that seemed to pierce right through into Alan's very soul, and they were close, they were right behind Alan, leaning over him, their head right next to his, he could practically feel their breath on his face cheek for a mere moment before the dungeon teleportation took that sense of his away.

A moment later, as his heart was beating at speeds that he felt like were loud enough that even someone on the other street block could hear, he saw all the surroundings disappear, as he arrived in that same senseless weightless space, for a brief second.

A moment later, his vision returned, there was no face next to his, there was no trio infront of him.

He was back into the Dungeons tokyo streets, back into the dungeon that had given him one of his traumas, and the place where he would have to reside for as long as he needed to grow strong enough.

Alan stood there, on the main road, not even bothering to look at the alleys, his eyes still widened, his body completely frozen, he had gone much further than any other time, he was too terrified to even tremble anymore, all he could do was take deep harsh quick breaths over and over as his heart felt like it was about to explode at any second.

This state of his continued for an amount of time that Alan wouldn't ever be able to tell anyone truly, he didn't even notice the passage of time, he only knew that for a while he was frozen and then suddenly he felt like he came out of the deepest waters of his mind that he had ever been in.

Slowly lifting his hand to his face, he put his entire palm over it as his breathing slowly started stabilising, his heart rate starting to slow down to regular levels slowly.

'That… that's the thing… it's… human… or atleast It looks like one, or it is one, I don't even know at this point… fuck, I didn't even use observe on It. I came here to hide and grow strong enough to be able to defeat or atleast survive that fucker but I don't even know how strong 'It' is. How do I know when I'm strong enough to defeat it?' Alan thought to himself, as he slowly felt a feeling of pure helplessness appear in him.

The thing had most definitely seen him teleport away to the dungeon, and now… now he had to defeat it if he wanted to keep his secret safe, and yet he wouldn't even know how much stronger or how long he had to spend here to get strong enough to do so.

Lifting his head up and removing the palm that he had placed over his head, Alan took one last deep breath before slowly releasing it in a sigh and looking around.

He was back in the dungeon, wearing his leather armor and holding the combat spear, he would be able to get enough coins to eat and drink as long as he wanted in here with the shop, so survival wasn't a problem, however…

'The mental toll that I'll take from living in a combat zone… I'll have to get used to it quickly, or I'll start making mistakes in fights and that… that could lead to my own end.' Alan thought as he gripped his combat spear tighter in his hand before taking a step forwards, and then another and another until he slowly approached the first dark alley on the long tokyo street.

Looks like Alan barely managed to get out in time. Though that does raise the question of what exactly is going on.

I originally just assumed vampire shenanigans, but now I'm not so sure.

Chapter 57 New
Slowly walking towards the first dark alley, Alan's mind was mostly overwhelmed, even with the fact that recently he had started adjusting, that now his mind worked and thought much more clearly than it had before the system, he still could barely hold a single long though string, there was simply too many things to think about and options that seemed good but at the same time not better than the others.

At the end, he was left feeling confused, not knowing how to proceed and so, as he had always done in positions like this, he did the things that he knew he had to do and left the options for later.

'Calling or not calling Alice, staying in here for long or short, escaping Forks or saying in Forks, and all the other options, none of them matter, at the moment… I need to get strong enough to defeat that thing either way, or atleast try to, It's the only thing that I know that I have to do for sure, I have to get stronger than I currently am.' Alan thought before releasing a slow sigh as he entered into the first Alley.

For the next four hours, he continued, thankfully the silver coins could be converted into bronze coins and he could use those to buy all his daily needs.

One single green slime kill turned into two and then three and then a dozen more, he didn't stop, there was no reason to do so, if he stopped, he felt like that face would appear over his shoulder and it would all be over.

Around five hours later, he walked out of the first alley and headed into the second one, the one where groups of green slimes appeared instead of simply one at a time, by this point he had gotten quite skillful at instantly breaking the glass core with a single thrust, ofcourse, It wasn't as if he didn't take any damage, It wasn't that the slimes were strong or fast, but it was simple human error, missing the core even once, meant that you would likely get hit especially when facing groups of enemies all at once.

Meanwhile, whilst Alan Walker was inside his system dungeon, in the real world, inside his apartment, four people could be seen, one of them sitting at Alan's desk chair whilst the three others were laid flat onto the ground, their eyelids open, showing eyes that looked utterly devoid of any light and life in them, they were the eyes of corpses or atleast humans so mentally damaged that they had no thoughts left, no thinking processes going on inside their brains.

But in this case… it unfortunately was the first, the three people laid on the ground were Jeannie, John and Adrian.

Their chests were no longer rising, the colour of their bodies had already faded and they were not just cold, utterly cold and dead bodies on Alan's apartment floor.

Meanwhile, the man who had been right behind Alan before he had gone into the dungeon was sitting at Alan's desk, his chin in his palm whilst he had one leg crossed over the other, humming a slight melodic tune as he was inside his own thoughts.

"I wonder… just where he went? He was quite interesting, It's the reason that I wanted to get him to be my precious doll so badly, he wasn't affected by the drug almost at all, he could still think almost fully rationally and even head home on his feet after being drugged…. I wonder Alan Walker… just how many more things are you hiding… being able to teleport away at once, living inside this random town… Ah… I can't wait to find out." The man muttered softly to himself as an excited expression slowly emerged onto his previously languid facade of an expression.

His eyes slowly lighting up, whilst his lips curled upwards further and further, at one point it reached a point where it looked like a combination of pure orgasmic pleasure and excitement merged into one, an expression that was completely unhinged from any other regular being, morphing the handsome face of the man into something eerie and utterly terrifying.

The night that had encroached upon Forks only caused the scene to appear even more otherworldly, as if it was a scene from a horror novel rather than one from reality.

Whilst the man was waiting for Alan patiently, on the other side of Forks, another person was thinking about the very same Alan.

Deep inside the forest surrounding Forks, surrounded by the large trees of the region, inside the expensive and modern Cullen mansion, on the second floor, Alice Cullen was inside her bedroom, laid on her bed, flat on her stomach and currently playing around with her phone whilst her thoughts were somewhere far far away.

'I wonder, maybe I can take him shopping? I could buy him so many new clothes, his are already old but I could see that he takes really good care of them, ahhh…. I can't wait.' Alice thought to herself, as she couldn't help but daydream about future dates, about Alan, about them going somewhere together, especially clothes shopping as she almost released a squeal at the idea.

Alice Cullen was giddy usually, and yet for the past few days It had gotten so bad that Jasper had simply asked her to go to his room, Jasper's supernatural gift was empathy and emotional control, he could feel someones emotions and also influence them at the same time, it was a great weapon usually however when the emotion the other person was feeling was too intense, it leaked into Jasper's own emotional pool aswell, and Alice, Alice had been a volcano of emotions recently.

'Maybe I should call him?' Alice thought to herself as the mere idea excited her, she wanted to hear his voice again so badly, she just wanted to talk to him, she wanted to be close to him, she wanted…

Chapter 58 New
'Calm down… I'm getting too dangerous for this.' Alice thought as she abruptly stopped her train of thought, it was something she had recently realised, maybe because she unlike the other didn't remember her time when she had been human, her reactions to her mate were… a lot more violent and much much darker in nature.

'If I don't start saying no to myself, I could do something really really bad. I need to… keep myself in check more. No calling him, no trying to go and spy on him whilst he sleeps again, none of that.' Alice thought to herself as she shook her head, she knew that she was weird, she knew that she wasn't remotely close to human in any real sense of the word, however Alan was, and she needed to do her best to understand that, even if she didn't truly know how.

And so, Alice Cullen… decided that she would not be visiting or calling Alan tonight, much to the unfortunate luck of a certain Alan Walker who was currently covered in splashes of slime goo all over his body after another fight with a group of four green slimes inside his system's dungeon.

As all of these events were taking place, at a certain pizzeria inside Forks, two people had gotten together and were currently having dinner together for the first time in a long time.

"So Bells… how've you found school?" Charlie Swan, the current chief of the Forks police asked his daughter with his usual gruff and utterly awkward tone of voice, the man hadn't truly interacted with his only daughter and child in so long and found it hard to reconnect the small girl that he had raised with the current person she had become, and yet he was trying, he had been trying his best to do so. He had bought her a truck as a welcome back gift, had tried to talk with her and make sure she had everything she wanted.

However unfortunately for Charlie, his daughter was simply his own copy atleast in demeanour, Bella Swan who was sitting before him, taking a slice of pizza, was just as equally awkward in small talk as he was.

"I… uh, I guess I've been good, made a few friends, Jessica, Mike, Eric and uh Angela." Bella said softly, her voice small and almost barely there, the words coming out slowly and almost as if her throat was slightly clogged up.

"Oh, I know those kids, they're good kids, I'm glad. Especially Angela, she's a good one, studies a lot too, and the Mike kid, his parents run the local sports shop, he helps them quite a bit during the summer." Charlie said with slight surprise as atleast a part of the awkwardness was removed, he now had a topic to talk about with his daughter, he could do this.

"Ah yeah…" Bella replied as she took the pizza slice…. And then she ate it.

And so the conversation came to an instant stop once more, no matter how much one wanted to make a conversation, it was usually a two sided thing, one couldn't talk with someone who was clearly not interested, the conversation would simply come to a lull.

It was at that moment however that Bella's eyes lit up slightly as he turned to fully face her father.

"So uh Charlie, what's up with the uhm Cullens." Bella asked curiously whilst trying to seem like she was just asking randomly though she was failing quite spectacularly as anyone with a decent pair of eyes could see that she was clearly very much interested in knowing about them.

Thankfully, Charlie Swan seemed to not have a decent pair.

"The Cullens? Oh, doctor Carlisle Cullen's family? They're all a very nice bunch Bella, they've never made any problems and have actually helped around quite a lot, especially doctor Carlisle, a doctor of his level could have gone to work into any of the big cities and yet he chose to come to Forks for a quiet life and so that he could raise his children right. I hope you didn't believe the rumors going on around them, frankly, they're one of the nicest families in Forks." Charlie replied quickly, clearly having had to deal with a lot of baseless rumors about the Cullens before.

"Ah no, I didn't believe any of the rumors, just asked randomly. One of the uh kids, Edward Cullen was givin me weird looks a few days ago that's all." Bella said shyly as she looked away towards the window on her left, showing the darkened streets of Forks outside of the pizzeria place.

"Ah Edward, yeah he's always been a bit of an introvert, I'm sure he just wanted to talk to you or something Bells, he likely didn't have anything against you, did you ask him? It could have just been a misunderstanding." Charlie said softly, trying to reassure his daughter whilst believing in the good of others, especially the good of the people who constantly seemed to be misjudged in his eyes by others around Forks.

"Ah, not yet, but yeah… It was likely just a misjudgement on my part… I'll just ask him when I, uh, see him at school." Bella replied as she shook her head, slowly inwardly starting to question herself if what she had really seen had been nothing more than just a misunderstanding on her part and yet her mind, as always like a curious cat simply couldn't believe that, whatever had happened on that day in biology class had indeed been just that, it was simply… too weird.

'What person, asks to change their entire class just because of a misunderstanding? And then starts missing school for days right after… something… just doesn't add up here.' Bella thought to herself as she saw droplets of rain start falling from the sky, faster and faster until a complete downpour began.

Chapter 59 New
Hours continued passing, in the real world, and just the same they similarly passed in the dungeon, inside of which, a certain young man could be seen currently sitting down at the edge of an alley, in the main tokyo road, crosslegged whilst he ate a small nutritional bar and drank from a half used water bottle.

He didn't know how much time exactly had passed, that had blurred after the first few hours, he knew however… that it had been quite a while since he had come inside this place.

'Do I try it?' Alan thought to himself as he looked in the distance, past the current alley that he was in front of and towards one that was further down the main dungeon road.

There it was, the unassuming alley that he had entered with so much confidence once and then proceeded to promptly run out of, terrified of his wits after having witnessed a special crimson slime devouring and digesting human body parts in the darkness of the alley.

'Damned… just thinking about it causes my hands to shake, how do those movie protagonists just jump into danger without a second thought… this shit is so fucking scary. Im afraid, im fucking terrified, I wanna go back home, I wanna lay down and cover myself in a damned blanket and just… just sleep.' Alan thought to himself as his mood slowly dropped further and further until he finally shook his head.

'Stop… I can't think like that, It's not like I have the option and neither do I have the time to be fantasising about what I want. Its time that I do what I need to do.' Alan thought before releasing a soft sigh, a sigh that showed his fear, his exhaustion and finally his determination that had led him to push forward until now, even when in moments, it all felt pointless, even in moments when it all felt like he was simply a rat running around in circles whilst the cat played with it.

'Even if it's the last thing that I do… I'm going to fucking make sure that bastard regrets it… for targeting me… aswell as for targeting them.' Alan thought to himself as his mind wandered towards his first three friends that he had made after the system, wandered to the parking lot, to the car drive, to the lunch period that he had shared with them.

There were so little moments that he had shared with them, and yet they had such a large effect on him.

'They do say that in times of need, people bond over more easily, and considering how my entire life turned around after that one morning… maybe thats why I got attached so… so quickly. I wonder, maybe the drug effects ran out by now? I wonder if they're okay… I have to find some way to get them saved, to remove those damned effects off of them. I… I wanna save them.' Alan thought to himself as he slowly fisted his hands at his sides and threw the nutritional bar wrapper away as he slowly stood up from the ground and onto his feet.

Dusting his backside and pants quickly with a few brushes of his hands, he turned his head towards the alley that he had been fearing so much and started walking towards it.

'It's fine… I trained for this.' Alan thought as he pulled up the status menu, the blue holographic panel appeared before him, floating in the air in an instant.

Looking over at his status menu, he truly felt like he had no other choice but to go and try defeating the crimson slime and hoping that It would actually give more experience points, because at this point, he felt like he was making no progress, simply looking at the amount of silver coins that he had gathered, he felt a headache about to hit him.
He had killed over four hundred slimes, over one hundred encounters with three or more slimes at the same time, whilst sure, he had gotten used to it by now and the battles ended in a mere few seconds, they were still utterly exhausting mentally if not physically. Thankfully, every few hours, he would level up and thus would gain a refresh of his mind but even then it wasn't truly.
His body would restore itself, and the base capacities of his mind would too, in a way he would indeed be 'fresh' and ready to go another round, however the mind was an interesting part of a human, even if it felt like it could go on, sometimes It couldn't, the repetitive tasks would get too… boring, too long, too tiring to keep doing the same thing, over and over and over again.
'Damned it all… and mostly damned that handsome mother fucker.' Alan thought as his mind wandered to the face of what he had started to call the magician inside his own mind, he didn't exactly know if it was a magician or a wizard or what exactly it was, for all he knew, that thing could be a worm that got inside peoples brain or something, some kind of parasite, but that had been the name he had chosen for the moment.
Arriving before the alley, he closed his eyes for a brief moment, looking at the alley with dark eyes before slowing shaking his head, gripping his combat spear tighter and then slowly heading inside.
