Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad

Chapter 122 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 122

In their tradition, a priest must baptize children once they turn one year old. It was considered a sacred milestone, marking the child's official welcome into the faith, a symbolic step meant to bring spiritual protection and blessings.

Instead of going to the church, however, in their county, parents would invite the priest to their home to perform the baptism. It felt more personal and festive that way, surrounded by family and neighbors.

When the couple left the room, the annex area was already prepared with tables and chairs neatly arranged in rows, leaving enough space for people to move around comfortably. The food section and utensils were also set up and ready. The aroma of freshly cooked dishes filled the air, blending with the faint scent of flowers placed as decorations on each table.

Soon after, the second batch of guests arrived. They were Karlos's friends and their families, showing up almost all at once. Brandon, Andres, Domingo, Jerry, and their families came, some carrying gifts. Their laughter and chatter instantly brought life to the atmosphere.

Just as Jerry had promised, he didn't bring his younger brother. As for Domingo's parents, they were present as well. His mother even had a couple of plastic bags tucked into her pockets. She inspected the food prepared for the party and grew visibly pleased when she saw how plentiful it was and how delicious everything looked. Her face lit up with genuine satisfaction as she quietly planned which dishes she would take home later.

However, what truly shocked everyone was how magnificent the villa was, far beyond what they had imagined. The elegant white walls, the wide annex, and the neatly pruned garden gave off a strong sense of luxury.

"When you said you were living in a villa, I didn't expect something like this," Domingo said as he looked around. His mouth was slightly open in awe. This wasn't just rich, it was rich-rich.

"A friend invited me to live here," Karlos replied simply. He didn't explain further, offering only a faint smile to avoid drawing too much attention.

"Be honest with me. Are you sure you're not from a rich family?" Jerry asked. He spoke half-jokingly, but his eyes were filled with curiosity. He remembered the gossip about a sports car parked in front of Karlos's kubo, and how people in the neighborhood believed it belonged to his relatives. They had even seen two well-dressed men talking to Karlos, which became quite the topic back then.

"Do I look like a rich person to you?" Karlos chuckled, shaking his head.

"If we didn't know your story, we might think so. You have fair skin, you're tall, and you don't look poor at all," Andres said teasingly, raising an eyebrow.

"If I hadn't worked with you fishing, I might believe you're from a rich family too," Brandon added with a laugh, giving Karlos a friendly pat on the back.

The men continued chatting as more guests arrived, gradually filling the annex. Their conversation shifted from jokes to lighthearted stories. Maya firmly reminded Karlos that there would be no alcohol at the party. She crossed her arms and gave him a serious look. Today was for the children, not for the adults to drink and have fun. Her tone left no room for argument, and Karlos could only smile helplessly.

Meanwhile, the children played as they waited for the baptism to begin. Their giggles echoed throughout the annex as they chased each other and played with small toys. Some of them glanced longingly at the swimming pool, but none dared to go in. The clear blue water shimmered invitingly under the sunlight, yet they knew their parents would scold them if they caused trouble.

To them, the swimming pool felt more exciting than the sea. At least the pool looked elegant, clean, and calm. They had grown tired of swimming in the ocean.

No one dared to enter the main house. Everyone stayed within the annex, which had become the heart of the celebration. All the rooms were locked anyway, leaving only access to the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Even then, the guests remained careful and respectful, mindful of the beautiful home they were in.

The third group to arrive consisted of Engineer Montoya, Franco, and the others.

The fourth group was made up of Maya's college friends. Although adulthood had separated them and given each of them their own lives, they still considered one another friends. Maya occasionally visited them or sent letters to keep in touch.

The three women squealed as they spotted Maya and rushed over to hug her tightly.

"Maya!"

"Luz, Vin, Minda!"

Maya smiled warmly and hugged them back, feeling a wave of nostalgia. They were acting like playful young women again.

"The others couldn't attend because they're in other cities," one of them said apologetically.

"It's alright. I'm already happy that you're here," Maya replied sincerely.

They giggled and settled at a table, immediately diving into gossip. They talked about their former classmates and shared updates about their lives.

All of them had graduated with education degrees. Luz and Vin worked at private schools, while Minda had been hired as an English teacher at a public school. Overall, they had stable careers and were working in the fields they had studied.

"You know Laura? She went overseas and married a man from Burger country. I heard she struck it rich."

"Good for her," Maya replied without envy.

"Maya, you didn't tell us you were living in such a nice place. So tell me, did Karlos win the lottery or something?"

They knew about Karlos. Back in their final months of college, he had been quite a sight, the poor but handsome man who waited outside their school just to see someone.

"This villa isn't ours. We're just renting it," Maya explained. "Karlos has a good friend who let us stay here while our house is under construction."

She didn't elaborate further, especially about the fact that they weren't paying rent. It would have been too troublesome to explain.

"So Karlos has a rich friend?"

"Let's not talk about that. You already have money to build a house? I thought Karlos was just a fisherman?"

Maya sensed something behind Luz's words, but she only smiled and nodded.

"My husband has earned quite a lot these past few months," Maya replied calmly, once again keeping her explanation vague.

Luz fell silent, momentarily stunned. She wasn't sure whether Maya was telling the truth or not. The main reason Luz had come today was to see Maya's situation, driven by comparison.

Luz had always been smarter than Maya. She had better grades and believed her future held greater potential, at least in her own eyes. She attended today hoping to confirm that her life was better than Maya's and to seek validation for herself.

Chapter 123 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 123

Luz was shocked to see that Maya and her family were living in a huge villa. Her gaze traveled across the white walls, the wide garden, and the tall, polished fences that framed the property. The enticing scent of food drifting from the annex only added to her disbelief and envy. Thankfully, Maya explained that the villa was not their property, or else Luz would have been even more speechless.

"By the way, I heard that Janice is doing well in Maynila. Her job is in a high-class private school, one of those prestigious institutions, and she seems to be earning 50,000 pesos per month."

When Luz said that, Vin and Minda stiffened slightly. Their eyes flicked toward Maya, waiting for her reaction. The atmosphere briefly grew heavy. All of them looked at Maya, but the woman merely maintained her calm, graceful smile.

"That's great for her. I truly mean it."

"Are you really fine with giving her the job quota? It was yours to begin with."

Back then, their college had invited local and international companies and organizations to recruit employees in a competitive event. When Maya gave her presentation, one of the well-known private schools from Maynila offered her a quota.

In truth, that event was a project initiated by the mayor for election purposes, a political move. Almost every company or organization that participated didn't really care and treated it as a formality. They were mostly there to give face to the vice governor who attended the event.

"I'm happy for her," Maya said, with nothing more to explain.

"..."

Luz was left speechless. Even Vin and Minda exchanged looks, unable to comprehend Maya's selflessness. To them, it felt illogical. Giving away such an opportunity seemed foolish. Maya and Janice weren't even that close, yet Maya had handed over a job quota that allowed Janice to work at a private school and earn 50,000 pesos a month, a life-changing amount.

For an average worker, 50,000 pesos monthly was huge, enough to elevate one's social status. It was even beyond what most middle-class workers earned.

"Are you really sure it was worth it?" Luz couldn't help but ask. Her brows furrowed as she leaned forward, seeking clarity. She was Maya's friend, but she couldn't understand why Maya chose to be with Karlos instead of going to the capital and living what Luz considered a better life.

"Thank you for your concern, Luz, but I'm living a better life," Maya replied softly. Her words were gentle yet firm, filled with conviction. She smiled genuinely, without a hint of regret, not even for a second.

"Mama!"

Suddenly, Arabella called out, breaking the tension. Her small arms stretched forward as she squirmed in someone else's arms, her lips curling into a pout as tears threatened to fall. She was tired of being passed around by people she didn't recognize. She only knew her uncles and aunties, which were Andres, Joseph, Reina, and Penelope. The others were strangers, and she felt uncomfortable with them.

Iñigo was even worse. He was more sensitive and refused to let any stranger carry him at all. He clung tightly to Penelope's neck like a lifeline, his little fingers gripping her blouse as his eyes glared at unfamiliar faces.

Who are you?
Do I know you?
You changed my diaper?
You met me when I was a baby? I'm still a baby now, so why can't I remember you?

His scrutinizing gaze conveyed all of that without a single word. The adults around him laughed, finding his seriousness amusing. The boy's intense stare was both adorable and charming.

Although the event was lively and enjoyable, the twins preferred to stay close to familiar people.

Naturally, the first person they called for was their mother, their anchor, the one who was always there, giving them warmth and comfort.

"Your daughter misses you," Jerry's wife said with a smile as she handed Arabella to Maya. She carefully passed the little girl into her arms, and Maya thanked her.

"Mama!" Arabella cried out as she hugged Maya tightly in relief. Her tiny arms wrapped around her mother's neck, and her soft giggle melted everyone's hearts.

"Did you miss me?" Maya asked gently.

"Hehe." Arabella laughed in response.

Iñigo didn't like that his sister was cuddling with Maya without him. His small face scrunched into a frown, jealousy clearly written all over it. Even though he felt safe with Penelope, he still reached out and called for his mother.

"Ma! Mama!"

At that moment, Luz, Vin, and Minda witnessed how truly radiant Maya was. The gentle warmth in her eyes as she looked at her children seemed to glow. They couldn't explain it, but they could clearly see the fulfillment reflected in her gaze. The love she had for her children was unmistakable.

Maya showered the twins with kisses without restraint, making them giggle in delight. Their laughter filled the villa like a melody, pure, innocent, and full of joy. Naturally, the twins returned the affection, clumsily kissing Maya back.

Luz couldn't believe it. Maya was genuinely happy.

'I don't understand. She doesn't have a job, and she married a broke guy. Her husband is nothing but a poor fisherman. How can she smile like that?'

That glowing smile didn't match Luz's definition of success.

Salmon and bluefin tuna season might bring prosperity to Una Town, but that didn't mean everyone benefited. Luck still played a role. To Luz, fishermen were a low profession that could never bring real fortune. She believed Maya had thrown away her potential, yet she couldn't deny that the woman sitting before her looked truly content.

As for Vin and Minda, they instantly fell in love with the adorable twins and gently pinched their cheeks. Their soft skin and round faces made them irresistible, and the twins' laughter echoed once more.

"Such cute little babies. They got your eyes," Minda said with a warm smile.

Maya and the twins shared striking crimson-red eyes, unusual, slightly intimidating, yet undeniably beautiful. Those eyes shimmered like rubies, captivating and impossible to ignore.

Karlos had loved Maya's crimson eyes from the very beginning, and he was happy that their children had inherited them as well.

Chapter 124 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 124

When Maya heard that, she smiled lightly. She knew that Minda was praising her children's appearance and acknowledging their inherited charm. Although Maya was a little sad that her children didn't inherit their father's lovely ocean eyes that she had always admired, it didn't change how much she loved the twins.

Maya affectionately kissed them again, looking at their crimson eyes that sparkled vividly. Yeah, her children were going to grow up handsome and beautiful, with features that would surely stand out.

As Maya and her friends conversed, the last group of guests arrived. Their arrival caused a commotion, immediately drawing everyone's attention.

Just a few minutes earlier, Karlos's friends had been talking about rich people who visited the kubo in sports cars, speculating about their identities.

Now, the people they were talking about had arrived, and they were indeed driving sports cars, confirming some rumor earlier.

Two sports cars entered the villa, and Foster opened the gate for them. On top of that, two mini trucks followed, causing the crowd to widen their eyes in shock.

The drivers of the mini trucks opened the cargo and unloaded a large number of items. They had porters who helped carry cartons of toys for the twins and gifts for the guests. The gifts consisted of wine worth a few thousand pesos and a basket of fruits for each family.

It was a shocking event. The guests hadn't expected two sports cars and two mini trucks to show up, delivering tons of birthday gifts for the twins, along with take-home gifts for everyone else.

When the children saw the toys being brought out, they couldn't help but feel jealous. Their eyes followed the boxes longingly. They wished they would get a truckload of toys in their birthdays.

"Sir, where should we take these gifts?"

"Take the toys to the house. The wine bottles and fruits should go to the annex."

The drivers and porters worked efficiently.

"This… you brought a lot of stuff," Karlos said as he approached Larry and Roman, his voice filled with disbelief.

Larry laughed and hugged Karlos warmly.

"Of course I brought a lot of stuff. I'm the godfather, after all. Right, Roman?" Larry turned to Roman and grinned proudly.

The businessman nodded in agreement.

"He's right. In fact, I feel like these aren't enough. I wanted to give more."

"No, no, this is enough. You don't have to spend more," Karlos quickly cut him off, afraid that more trucks might show up.

The two rich men wore sunglasses as they walked toward the annex, standing out effortlessly.

The ordinary guests murmured among themselves, watching the two with curiosity. For Roman, today was an occasion the twins should celebrate happily. That was why he bought them so many toys without overthinking the cost. He didn't know what else to buy, so he simply bought a lot of toys. For some reason, he wanted to take this event seriously.

As for Larry, he was very happy because he didn't have to hide anymore like last time. He brought his sports car without restraint. When he heard from Roman that he would bring a truckload of gifts, Larry didn't want to lose out. The feud between the Araneto and the Lang family had reached its peak, with the Lang family losing. So far, four members of the Lang family had been found dead, floating in the sea, while some were still missing.

The Lang family had opened Pandora's box by trying to kill Larry. They should have been prepared for retaliation.

Larry and Roman sat at the table reserved for them.

"My brother couldn't attend today. He's very busy. But he brought gifts, the ones with golden wrappers are from him."

"Thank you, Larry," Karlos said.

Their entire interaction was witnessed by the guests, some of whom watched with curious gazes. Murmurs spread as people speculated about Karlos's relationship with these rich men.

"So where are the birthday celebrants?"

"They're with their mom," Karlos replied, pointing at Maya, who was seated with her college friends.

"They're growing well and healthy," Larry said, making Karlos smile proudly.

"Yeah, they really are," Karlos said as he looked at his children affectionately. He was happy that they were healthy and happy.

Many people watched them talk, and some even listened closely, unable to look away. The guests knew about Maya and her background, her family had a solid reputation in town. However, Karlos was different. He was a newcomer, and most people didn't know his story. Some believed he was from Maynila and returned to the province after failing college. Others said he had relatives in Evitac. Yet none of his relatives were present today.

Suddenly, Roman took off his sunglasses, which caused gasps among the guests.

"I knew it! Karlos is from a rich family! Look at them, they're brothers!"

Brandon's mother, Carmine, exclaimed in shock. She couldn't believe it. She was a well-known gossiper in the neighborhood and believed she knew everyone's story.

"My friends will be shocked when I tell them this juicy story."

"Mom, what are you talking about? This isn't something you should spread. We don't know the real story," Brandon reprimanded her, though he was also stunned. He was friends with Karlos and thought he knew him well.

"M-Maya, that guy… is he Karlos's older brother? If not for the age difference, I'd think they were twins. They look so similar," Luz stuttered. No wonder Karlos and Maya lived in a villa, his family was rich! Everything suddenly made sense to her.

"Him? That's Roman. He's just friends with my husband," Maya answered calmly.

Even though almost every guest came to the same conclusion, Maya, Karlos, and Roman shared a completely different opinion.

'Karlos and Roman look alike? Nope, I don't believe that. My husband is more handsome,' Maya thought.

At this point, no one could convince them otherwise, except for a DNA test, which would never happen because they had no intention of doing one.

Luz hid her cold gaze as she looked at Maya. She believed Maya was lying. It felt to her like Maya was hiding the fact that her husband came from a rich family.

'This bitch… no wonder she's not affected by Janice's salary. She doesn't need to be. She has a rich husband and doesn't have to work. She can relax all she wants while I struggle,' Luz gritted her teeth in jealousy.

She was just a simple elementary school teacher, earning a basic salary of only 9,000 pesos a month, barely enough to survive. If not for the incentives given to public workers, she might have needed to take another job just to get by.

Chapter 125 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 125

'Maya probably knew that Karlos was rich, that's why she married him. Tch, typical gold digger,' Luz thought bitterly as she crossed her arms, her jealousy twisting her thoughts.

Luz glanced at Karlos, who was talking to Roman and Larry, standing confidently among them. His calm posture and easy smile made him look even more confident than she remembered, as if wealth magnified his presence. She had to admit, Karlos was an attractive man. Back then, Luz had also had moments to talk to Karlos during casual encounters. If not for being poor, she might have fallen for him too. Too bad, Maya's scheme had won before Luz could even try, at least in her imagination.

Suddenly, Luz felt like attending this birthday party had been a mistake. Instead of bragging about her status as a teacher, she realized that her friend, who didn't have to work, had it better, a truth she hated acknowledging.

'All you do is rest in your house and play with the kids, yet your life is better? Life is truly unfair. Such a lazy woman, yet favored by destiny.' Her nails dug into her palms as she forced a smile, hiding her growing resentment.

For clarification, being a mother was a tough job, and also the most respectable one. Yet some people couldn't appreciate it because of shallow beliefs.

Once the priest arrived, the ceremony began. The chatter died down as everyone turned their attention to him respectfully.

The priest gave a short sermon, mostly about being good parents and caring for children, emphasizing responsibility. Then he baptized the twins, and the ceremony was completed just like that.

Arabella received new dolls while Iñigo held brand-new toy cars. Both were happy and excited.

Their laughter filled the air, the innocent sound of children blending with the murmur of the crowd. The church cameramen took pictures of the twins, then with their parents, then with the godparents. These pictures would be delivered within a week, already paid for by Karlos.

With the ceremony done, the guests quickly approached the food section and served themselves, forming lines. The air was soon filled with the aroma of freshly cooked dishes, such as fried chicken, adobo, and sweet desserts. Some picked lumpia and all kinds of meat dishes, with a small scoop of rice. The clinking of utensils and chatter of guests added to the festive atmosphere. At an event like this, one usually focused on the meat rather than the rice. For guests who didn't eat meat, vegetarian options were also available.

Contrary to Maya's concerns, Larry and Roman had no problem eating the food without pretense. In fact, they ate a lot with genuine enjoyment. Particularly the lumpia, they couldn't stop munching on it.

'It seems like rich people are people after all.' Maya chuckled to herself, shaking her head slightly. For some reason, she felt she would meet many wealthy people in the coming years, a strange intuition.

"Ma, me, me." Arabella tapped her mother's arm, asking to be fed.

"Oh, you want more? What do you like?" Maya asked gently as she looked down at her daughter.

"Dis." Arabella pointed at the chocolate cake. In her opinion, it was the most delicious food on the plate.

"Open your mouth, ahhh." Maya fed the little girl, though some bits of cake stained her cheeks, which Maya wiped later once she finished chewing. The little girl's giggle melted Maya's heart. She carefully cleaned her daughter's face with a napkin.

Maya then turned to Iñigo. The little boy wanted chicken adobo, and Maya fed him too. The boy nodded with satisfaction after a bite, his tiny hand gripping the edge of the table while the other held his toy car.

Maya saw her husband talking to the guests, making sure everyone was entertained and satisfied with the food. His eyes were bright as he moved from table to table, full of energy.

"Karlos, the fried chicken tastes amazing!"

"Thank you, Ma'am. Joseph, Foster, and I fried them," Karlos said to Domingo's mother, who was licking her fingers. Grease glistened on her fingers, but she didn't care in the slightest. It didn't matter if she had a missing tooth, she would eat and pack a lot of food. Her eyes darted to the remaining dishes, she didn't forget her plan to take some dishes back to home.

Karlos just laughed it off, he already had an idea of what Domingo's mother was thinking and didn't dwell on it.

There were only six adults and two children in the villa, so they couldn't finish the remaining food even if they stored it. Letting the guests pack some to bring home avoided waste.

With that, the event ended happily. Many guests left satisfied, smiles on their faces. Luz, Vin, and Minda also bid farewell to Maya and her two adorable children.

"... I am jealous of Maya. She seems happy," Minda admitted honestly as they walked to the tricycle station together.

"Do you think I'll find a man like Karlos?" Vin asked, hopeful that she would someday meet her destined one.

"Karlos has a calm demeanor and he's a gentleman. I can see that he deeply loves Maya and that he's hardworking. At this point, it's already a blessing if we can find someone who can truly love us wholeheartedly," Minda said realistically.

"Heh, didn't you see? It's obvious Maya chose Karlos because he's rich. Karlos and those rich guys seem related," Luz said, trying to fan the flames of jealousy. She was envious that Maya was doing well. Even though they didn't own the villa, their house under construction on the beach side meant they had a secure home. Unlike Luz, she still lived with her parents.

"Yeah, I also thought that. Karlos and that rich guy seem related. They are probably brothers, although that doesn't explain everything," Vin agreed. In fact, everyone at the party could see the resemblance between the two Alejandros.

"Even if she knew about it, that's her fortune. Even if there's calculation and scheming, I truly believe Maya and Karlos love each other," Minda said, casting a side-eye at Luz. She knew Luz was intentionally trying to stir trouble.

"It doesn't matter if she's a green tea or white lotus. We can judge her, but at the end of the day, her life is her own," Minda added, addressing Luz.

White Lotus = scheming woman who pretends to be innocent/pure.

Green Tea = scheming woman who pretends to be sweet and naive.

The important question was: Is Maya a scheming woman?

Chapter 126 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 126

The guests left in groups, leaving only Larry, Roman, Joseph and his family in the villa.

Larry and Roman talked to Karlos in a relaxed manner.

"If you need help, don't be afraid to contact us. We are friends," Larry assured him as he patted Karlos's shoulder.

"As for what happened to Claire, don't worry. I already handled it. She won't trouble you and your family anymore."

Roman glanced at Larry, his brow furrowing slightly with curiosity. He didn't know what they were talking about and decided he would ask Larry later.

"Thanks, Larry. I appreciate it," Karlos said sincerely. His voice carried genuine gratitude.

"Don't sympathize with a homewrecker. They don't deserve it," Larry added, his voice dropping with disdain. This made Roman raise an eyebrow and look at Karlos, waiting for an explanation.

"I'm innocent. I don't know her. I didn't even know she liked me," Karlos immediately explained. He raised both hands slightly in defense, his eyes wide with honesty.

'Why do I feel like I'm explaining myself to an older brother or something?' Karlos thought, a wry smile forming on his face.

Roman nodded, believing him. "Just like Larry said, contact us if you need help." His tone was calm, making Karlos feel reassured.

"Alright."

Karlos had no idea when their relationship had changed. Their interactions had become natural. As far as he remembered, they had only met a few times and weren't particularly close. Yet Larry and Roman had started treating him like a brother.

Even Roman was confused. This was the first time he felt close to a stranger so quickly. The fact that he attended a birthday party at all was already surprising. He wasn't the type to mingle with ordinary people, yet something about this family drew him in.

Suddenly, Arabella and Iñigo approached their father, their small footsteps pattering softly. They were holding their new toys, clearly happy about what had happened today. Their faces glowed with pure joy. Apparently, today being their birthday made it even more special. They wished every day could be their birthday so they could eat delicious food and receive toys.

"Papa!" Arabella hugged Karlos, her small arms wrapping around his knee. Her soft giggle melted his heart.

"Hm, greet your uncles."

Karlos spoke gently to the twins. Arabella looked at Larry and Roman. She recognized them and smiled brightly.

"Uncwe!" she said. Her childish voice was sweet, unpolished, yet sincere.

Surprisingly, Iñigo didn't feel any apprehension toward the two men. It seemed that after meeting them three times, he already considered them his uncles.

"Uncwe!" Iñigo said enthusiastically, his eyes sparkling as he proudly held up his new toy.

Larry nodded happily, and Roman did the same. Roman smiled faintly as he looked at the twins. For some reason, he felt happy being called uncle, even if the pronunciation was wrong. Their innocent energy softened his expression. It felt natural and right.

"Well then, see you next time," Larry and Roman said as they bid farewell. Larry returned to his duties as a police officer, while Roman headed back to Maynila to meet his family.

Karlos and his children waved at the departing sports cars. The sound of the engines faded into the distance, leaving behind a peaceful silence.

Inside the villa, Joseph and Penelope helped the maids arrange the gifts the twins received and organize the aftermath. They also helped store the remaining food and clean the annex.

Even though many guests had taken food and gifts home, there were still plenty of dishes left. The maids and the family would eat them over the next few days, with no one complaining. The aroma of food still lingered, a reminder of the celebration.

Once Joseph and Penelope finished helping, they bid farewell as well. Maya packed food, wine, and fruits for them to take home, and Foster drove them back. Maya reminded her brother not to drink too much wine.

With that, the party completely ended. The once lively villa was now quiet, resting after the celebration. Maya looked at the small mountain of toys placed inside an unused room.

"... This is a safety hazard. We can't let the children play with all of these toys. Some are quite small and could choke them," Maya said to Karlos before closing the door, thinking like a careful mother. If the children asked for toys, they would only be given safe toys to play with.

When the couple returned to the bedroom, they found the twins sleeping peacefully, hugging their new toys. Their little faces were adorable, innocent smiles free of worry.

Maya and Karlos lay beside them, holding each other's hands. Maya yawned, the exhaustion from waking up early finally catching up to her.

"Let's sleep," Karlos said softly.

"Okay."

They rested their heads, looking at the twins sleeping between them.

"Babe," Maya said.

"Hm?"

"I love you."

"I love you too," Karlos replied without hesitation. He truly loved his wife. He would die for her, kill for her, and give his heart to her. Heck, if they ever divorced, he would give her half of everything he owned, though he hoped that would never happen.

A warm smile spread across his face as he squeezed her hand gently.

"Babe, I'm horny. Let's fuck," Maya said, her playful tone paired with eyes glimmering with mischief. Watching her husband handle the party so well made her feel proud of marrying him. Naturally, she wanted to be with him.

"Alright."

Maya yelped as Karlos carried her toward the shower, her giggle echoing faintly as his arms lifted her effortlessly. They didn't end up taking a shower, they did another kind of business instead.

"S-Slow down, the kids might wake up," Maya said as she bit her lip. Her cheeks flushed pink, her voice trembling with excitement.

......
...

February. It had been a week since Roman returned to Maynila. He decided to stay longer this time after his grandfather announced a family meeting.

Roman looked at the tall buildings around him. The skyscrapers were truly gigantic, symbols of the capital's power. Maynila was vastly different from Una Town. Even Evitac City couldn't compare to its grandeur.

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 127

'Although I admit that the air here is bad, I feel like I'm inhaling smoke all day. At least in the province, the air smells nice and fresh.' Roman thought to himself. He let out a faint sigh. He admitted that he missed the sea breeze and the calm it brought him.

"Sir, we have arrived," the driver announced, and Roman stepped out of the car, adjusting his collar.

Roman had already met his parents and brothers over the past few days. Only his grandparents were the ones he had yet to see.

And today, their grandfather announced that all men in the family should show up at his mansion. No daughters had been born into the family for generations, so the older generation used the term men when referring to their offspring.

Roman took a step forward, looking at the huge mansion. Tall walls, a fountain in front of the entrance, and a garden surrounding the pathway. This was just one of their many properties in Maynila. They owned hotels, subdivisions, restaurants, resorts, and more scattered nationwide. This mansion was the first one his grandfather built and cherished the most, a symbol of the family's beginning and the old man's pride.

On the way in, Roman was greeted by a line of maids and butlers standing. They bowed politely, their uniforms crisp and formal. Their eyes never met his, they were trained servants of the family.

"Good morning, young master Roman. The family is waiting for you in the garden."

Roman nodded at the butler before going inside. His polished shoes clicked against the marble floor, echoing through the grand hallway.

When he reached the garden at the back of the mansion, he realized that he was the last one to arrive. As usual, the family was punctual, a habit ingrained and enforced by the older generations. Roman looked around. Only their grandfather was missing. The old man preferred to show up last, as if reminding everyone who truly commanded the family.

Well, showing up last was like main character energy or something.

"Dad."

"Hm."

Roman greeted his father, and Heneral Alejandro merely nodded at his second son. The brief exchange said enough. They had already met yesterday, and Heneral had been briefed on the situation in the Timog-Kanluran province. Overall, Heneral was satisfied with the business endeavors Roman had undertaken, especially their participation in the development project of Una Town. They had secured many profitable opportunities.

"Uncle."

Roman greeted his uncle.

"Roman, you've arrived. How's your time in Timog-Kanluran?"

"The province is beautiful. The blue ocean and green mountains, such natural scenery. The air is fresh, and you can't help but fall in love with the place," Roman answered with a nostalgic smile, making his uncle, Almirante Alejandro, chuckle.

"I already know that. We lived in the province during our childhood. We know exactly what you're talking about."

Roman kept smiling, though he felt embarrassed. He had forgotten about that fact. He recalled that his father and uncle grew up in Evitac City. They had probably experienced the same beauty of the sea and mountains when they were young.

Roman then looked at his older brother, Alfonso, and greeted him. Alfonso nodded in response and adjusted his eyeglasses calmly. With his beard, the difference between the two brothers was obvious. Roman's face was clean-shaven, and his eyes were far less guarded.

Then Roman turned to his younger brother.

Tonto Alejandro looked dead tired. His hair was messy, his eyes half-lidded, and a faint scent of alcohol clung to his clothes. Just like always, Tonto had stayed up all night partying recklessly with his friends and women.

'... Did he even take a shower?'

Roman inspected his younger brother more closely and felt that Tonto wasn't just drunk. His pupils were dilated, and his movements sluggish.

He might be high on drugs.

"Tonto, you drunk?" Roman asked quietly.

"Huh? Ah, yeah, that's right." Tonto realized someone was talking to him and scratched the back of his neck, forcing a weak grin.

Seeing his reaction, Heneral and Alfonso shook their heads in disappointment. The weight of their silent disapproval was heavy. They had their own share of indulgence, but there were lines they never dared to cross.

The first was drugs. The men of the family had no tolerance for addictive substances. Alcohol was acceptable, drugs were disgusting.

The second was romance. The men in the family were not cheaters by principle. Once they entered a relationship, they remained loyal. Though loyalty alone didn't guarantee a lasting relationship.

Roman himself had dated four women. His current girlfriend was a blonde actress who starred in telenovelas.

Tonto, however, was a notorious playboy, two-timer, perhaps even three-timer. It was a miracle he hadn't gotten anyone pregnant yet. He had always struggled with his lust.

Tonto yawned openly, not even bothering to cover his mouth.

"Tonto, you just finished college. I know you want to have fun, but partying every night is detrimental," Heneral said, fixing his youngest son with a cold, military gaze. Of all his sons, Tonto disappointed him the most. They had provided him with the best education and resources, yet he took everything for granted. He never took life seriously and treated everything like a game.

In fact, he barely passed college. The family had secretly bribed the university and professors just so Tonto could graduate. It was humiliating for Heneral that his son couldn't even earn his diploma without influence. He made sure the matter never leaked, silencing people with envelopes of cash.

"Y-Yes, Dad. I'll keep that in mind," Tonto replied, flinching as if the air itself had grown heavy.

"Sit straight."

"Yes."

Tonto straightened his back stiffly, like a soldier.

"Tell me, you're not on drugs, right?"

"Of course not, Dad. I always keep your words in me and follow them wholeheartedly," Tonto replied too quickly, too eagerly.

Even Almirante and the two cousins shook their heads at Tonto's behavior. The Alejandro family carried prestige and reputation, yet Tonto was the black sheep.

There was a time back in high school when Tonto stabbed a classmate in the eye. The family had covered it up, paying a hefty sum to erase the record.

Yeesh, Amazing they were able to pay their way out of that. Stabbing some one is the eye is fucked up, (If it's not during a life or death fight). Liking the story so far, just finished reading all the chapters. :)

Chapter 128 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 128

Of course, Roman didn't forget to greet his two cousins, Rodrigo and Sebastian, both upright and serious men who represented the better image of the Alejandro bloodline.

At the table, all seven members of the Alejandro family were present, gathered formally and consisting of two generations. There was no daughter in the family. The absence of women gave the atmosphere a certain sharpness.

The family members started talking about various topics, mainly business and politics as their core interests. Voices overlapped with words like "shares" and "governor." Tonto yawned once again as he found the meeting boring.

However, he knew the importance of this gathering. His grandfather was a dictator within the family and controlled everything. If Tonto dared to skip the meeting, even his father wouldn't be able to protect him from his grandfather's terror and authority.

Tonto had no intention of offending his grandfather, especially when inheritance was involved. He also had a trust fund from his grandfather that brought him millions every month.

As someone who only wanted to play around and didn't want to work, Tonto understood how important that inheritance and trust fund truly were, it was his lifeline to feeling alive and financially secure.

Even though attending this meeting went against his will, he was determined to stay and endure it. His eyes were unfocused as he silently prayed for the meeting to end. He just hoped that today's meeting would finish quickly, as his friend had invited him to a casino.

As if his prayer was answered, the main characters finally arrived.

Their grandfather, Caesar Alejandro, was carefully pushing the wheelchair of his wife, Lourdes Alejandro. The old couple approached the table, followed by maids and a nurse, ensuring they were well attended to.

Immediately, every man at the table stood up respectfully.

"Dad, let me help Mom," Almirante offered, knowing his parents were old. Even the other men expressed their concern.

However, Lourdes smiled at her eldest son. "Let your father push me."

With that, the men complied. Caesar was the patriarch of the family and commanded respect, but Lourdes was the heart of the family, and they loved her deeply. She was affectionate and a good mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She spoiled her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren without fail. Despite that, she was fair to everyone and never played favorites.

One important thing about Lourdes was that she was deeply in love with her husband, to the point of obsession. She enjoyed every moment of her wheelchair being pushed by Caesar.

Within the family, they were simply called Dad and Mom, or Grandpa and Grandma. However, outsiders usually referred to them as Don Caesar and Doña Lourdes, as they were a wealthy couple who were practically nobles by modern standards. Moreover, they owned vast lands, the Alejandro family was a dominant real estate giant.

Caesar nodded after confirming that everyone was present.

"Bring the tea and coffee," Caesar ordered, and the maids quickly moved to serve the beverages.

If this had been a decade ago, Caesar might have asked for alcohol, but he stopped drinking after being hospitalized a few years back. Since then, he had started taking better care of his health.

Lourdes smiled warmly as she asked her sons and grandsons about their lives while Caesar listened quietly. She also inquired about her great-grandchildren, who were still too young to attend the family meeting.

The men reassured her that they were all doing well and that the old couple didn't need to worry. The Alejandro conglomerate was on the right track, and their business empire continued to expand.

Once Lourdes was satisfied that her sons and grandsons were doing well, it was time for the patriarch to speak.

"Roman, I heard that you made a partnership with the Araneto family and even secured a huge share in the development project of Una Town."

"That's right, Grandpa. It's a massive project, and the government gave us incentives and tax refunds. On top of that, Una Town has great potential. I've been there many times, and the town has strong economic growth."

"Hm, you're doing well. I'm proud of you."

"Yes, Grandpa." Roman smiled sincerely. These were the words he had longed to hear. He once thought his father and grandfather had abandoned him in the province, but he slowly realized that they had given him a chance to expand the family business in the Timog-Kanluran province and help the family prosper further. It was an opportunity to prove himself.

"However, I must remind you, stay away from political conflicts. I know what's happening in Timog-Kanluran. The Araneto and Patong families are killing each other, and the situation is getting bloodier by the week."

It wasn't even a secret. Almost anyone who understood politics had an idea of what was happening between the two families.

"Don't ever do anything illegal that could land you in jail." Caesar's voice was low and heavy as his sharp gaze locked onto his grandson.

"I'll keep that in mind, Grandpa. I promise."

Caesar then questioned the men one by one about their lives and business matters. It appeared that the entire family business was doing well, as each of them proudly presented their achievements, eager for approval.

Caesar was satisfied.

Until his eyes landed on Tonto, who was trying to keep a low profile.

"Tonto, when are you going to start living seriously and stop wasting your years?"

"Grandpa, I am living seriously. I don't know what you're talking about. I'm fine… really."

"Do I look like I'm joking right now?" Caesar's tone was sharp, his brows deeply furrowed.

"Grandpa, I—"

"Don't even try to fool me. Your parents and grandmother may tolerate you, but I don't. I don't like what you're doing."

Caesar scrutinized his youngest grandson. Tonto had black hair, just like everyone else in the family. However, he didn't inherit his mother's blue eyes. Instead, Tonto had pink eyes. At first, the family was confused about where his eye color came from, but Caesar's father also had pink eyes. Because of that, Caesar didn't find it strange. Tonto had likely inherited it from his great-grandfather, a recessive trait finally expressing itself.

The more you describe Tonto, the more I'm thinking he and Karlos were switched at birth at the hospital.

Chapter 129 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 129

"If I ever find that you use drugs again, I will send you to jail myself. All you do is go to bars, drink alcohol, take drugs, and gamble in casinos for hours on end. You have nothing productive in your life, and it's leading you to destruction. I'm already disappointed that you barely passed college, and even more disappointed that you're taking the wrong path without considering the consequences. I will not force you to work in the family business, it's your choice whether you want to work or do something else instead, but I abhor vices without purpose."

"In the first place, I worked hard and built a company so that my sons, grandsons, and great-grandchildren would have a better life. Promise me that you will live a good life from now on and stop being a useless person."

"I—I promise, Grandpa!" Tonto might convince other people for a short time, but Caesar could see through his lies. The slight tremble in Tonto's voice only confirmed it. Still, Caesar decided to trust him, giving the boy one last chance. He wasn't expecting much from his youngest grandson, as usual. Tonto had been a disappointment since early childhood.

"I know you don't appreciate what I'm saying. You've been that kind of guy since childhood, stubborn and foolish. However, I'm concerned about you."

"And you," Caesar turned to Heneral, clearly disappointed in his second son, "it's because you're so busy with your job that your son grew up like this without proper guidance."

"Dad, that's not true. I'm hands-on with my kids, always, even when I'm tired or busy," Heneral answered with conviction, his shoulders stiffening under the tension.

"Then it's not enough."

Caesar looked at his two sons and five grandsons.

Almirante, the oldest son, carried himself with heavy responsibility and seriousness, taking the lead of the family business.

Heneral, the second son, was ambitious to the point of arranging marriages for his three sons to secure influence and power.

Rodrigo was the oldest grandson, respectful toward the elders.

Alfonso and Roman were twins. Alfonso, the second grandson, and Roman, the third grandson, shared the same face but had different temperaments.

Sebastian was the fourth grandson.

Tonto was the youngest, reckless and uncontrollable, a constant problem for the family.

Caesar had worked tirelessly to ensure his descendants would have a great life filled with comfort.

Back when they were still living in the province, Caesar felt that being a farmer wouldn't bring him success. He knew how tough and fruitless farming could be, even with all his effort. Life as a farmer was hell without reward.

So he decided to sell his land and take risks in Maynila to earn money for survival. He worked as a construction worker while Lourdes sold rice cakes in the street to support the family. At that time, Almirante was just seven years old, and Heneral was five, both still very young. Life was tough, but Caesar persevered for his family's sake.

He became a foreman and gradually saved enough money to start his own construction company. He then expanded the business slowly but steadily. Brick by brick, he built his business empire.

Fortunately, his two sons grew up well and helped with the business without complaint.

However, both Almirante and Heneral were eager to prove themselves in high society and sought prestige, always chasing nobility, old money, and social recognition. They even married women from political families.

That was something Caesar didn't approve of because he knew how dirty and dangerous politics could be. At first, Almirante and Heneral tried expanding their influence in government but realized it wasn't worth it after seeing corruption and betrayal.

Fortunately, they truly loved their wives, so the outcome wasn't bad, and their family remained stable. At least something good had balanced the risks.

Like Caesar, both Almirante and Heneral were deeply devoted to their wives. The Alejandro family's devotion ran deep. Once an Alejandro married, he put all his love into his wife.

Caesar stared at his two sons. He was proud of what they had achieved, but he knew they wanted more.

"All I want from all of you is to live a happy life and be healthy without stress. I worked hard so that you would have a better life. That was my biggest motivation."

Lourdes held Caesar's hand, which made the old man happy.

"I'm satisfied with what I achieved. I'm also proud of all of you. Almost all of you grew up to be respectable members of society."

When Caesar said that, the men couldn't help but feel that the old man might be near the end of his life, speaking his last words with seriousness.

"Grandpa, we will follow your words," Rodrigo said, worried that the old man might be overwhelmed with emotion.

Caesar nodded at his oldest grandson.

"Now that you understand, you should listen to me. I have something important to say that cannot be ignored."

Suddenly, everyone sniffed slightly, their eyes reddening. Their grandfather might croak at any moment.

The men became serious and listened carefully to Caesar.

"I believe I did my best to provide everything for you and to give you a strong foundation. You reached your status because of the things I started and the sacrifices I made."

"Of course. You're the Chairman of Alejandro Conglomerate. We appreciate all you did for us. Dad, thank you," Heneral said hoarsely, clenching his fists, thinking that his father was getting emotional because he might die soon.

"I've reached this status. Our family is one of the richest families in the country, worth billions of dollars. Even if I die, I'm happy knowing my family is secure."

"Dad!" Almirante cried out in alarm and concern.

"There's only one thing I regret the most... it's the fact that our family doesn't have a princess!" Caesar raised his voice and coldly stared at the men at the table with disappointment and frustration.

"All I see are a bunch of rough men who always prioritize work and fun! When will you give us a granddaughter or a great-granddaughter!?"

Lourdes nodded in agreement with her husband, her eyes soft but sad. The couple had been great parents, yet they had never had a chance to hold a little girl. It seemed the Alejandro family was cursed, or perhaps it was just the strength of the male genes.

When Caesar said that, the men flinched guiltily.

Chapter 130 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 130

Caesar recalled what had happened a few days ago. Back then, he and his friends went to a private lake to fish, a place reserved for old acquaintances. Being old and retired, they mostly spent their time relaxing and letting the younger generations do their work without interference.

They then started talking about their children, and naturally, Caesar was praised by his friends because most of the men in his family were outstanding and could handle their own lives without a problem.

Caesar felt proud and happy about that, his chin lifting slightly with satisfaction. He felt like all of his hard work over many decades had been worth it. At least his descendants had grown well and were respectable, both in public and in private.

He listened quietly as his friends shared problems about their own children. Their children were problematic, some were drug addicts, some had gambling addictions, some were playboys or promiscuous, some were cheaters, some were divorced, some had children with multiple partners. Each story was worse than the last. Overall, his family fared much better, except for one grandson who was tarnishing their image and ruining his mood. God knew from whom Tonto inherited his behavior.

Caesar admitted that every family had its own problems. Even though he and his friends were rich, problems never left people, no matter their status. Money made life easier, but it didn't erase chaos or human flaws.

"By the way, I want to invite you all to my great-granddaughter's birthday. She's turning two years old next week, and we will celebrate big."

An old man handed them each an envelope, smiling ear to ear. Inside was a birthday card and a picture of a little girl in a cute baby dress, with bright eyes and chubby cheeks.

The men at the lake congratulated him. For the wealthy, pampering and spoiling the youngest generations was normal.

When Caesar looked at the birthday card, he couldn't help but feel jealous. He sighed. His biggest regret in life was not having a daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter to spoil with affection. Their genes seemed coded to produce men. It was rare for a little girl to be born in the Alejandro lineage.

That small event made him bitter. Who didn't want a cute little girl in the family to dote on? Caesar was tired of boys, they were chaotic rascals and not pleasing to the eyes.

For the record, the Alejandro men were attractive, but Caesar had grown weary of them after decades.

Caesar's expression darkened, and he looked at the men at the table with pressure in his gaze. His eyes were sharp enough to make a few straighten their backs.

'It's all because of these smelly men!' he thought. He outright blamed his descendants.

"Rodrigo, when are you going to give us a great-granddaughter? Your grandma and I want to hold a little girl from the Alejandro lineage before we die. Don't you know how infuriating it is? This family doesn't have a princess, and yet we call ourselves the Alejandro empire. What a joke."

"Hm," Lourdes agreed with a small nod. Her friends had been bragging about their granddaughters and great-granddaughters, while all she could do was smile and endure it. It was suffocating because she couldn't join the conversation.

"Grandpa, that's too much. My wife just gave birth two years ago. We are thinking of taking it slow." Rodrigo raised his hands defensively. He might respect the elderly couple, but he loved his wife more.

"Yeah, and it's a boy." Caesar scoffed.

"Then how about you, Alfonso?"

"Grandpa, my son is still young. We don't want to have another child for a while." Alfonso scratched the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact.

"Tch!" Caesar clicked his tongue in annoyance. So far, only Rodrigo and Alfonso had married and had children, both sons.

Caesar then turned to Almirante and Heneral with no interest. These two sons of his were beyond hope, their wives were already in their forties, which was not a good age to be pregnant. He waved his hand dismissively, not bothering to lecture them, as it would be pointless.

So he could only place his trust and expectations in his grandsons who still had time.

Caesar glared at Roman, making it clear who was next to bear the weight of his frustration.

"When are you going to marry? You're dating an actress, right? When are you going to start a family and give us hope?"

Before Roman could answer, Heneral interjected.

"Dad, what are you saying? Roman is going to marry his fiancée. The actress is just a fling, nothing serious." Heneral had already arranged a partner for Roman.

Roman frowned in displeasure. He had no feelings for his fiancée, they were just friends, playing along with their parents to avoid trouble and pressure. He didn't like her romantically.

Caesar slammed his fists against the table, and the atmosphere turned cold in an instant.

"Who are you to decide whose woman Roman is going to marry on his behalf?"

"I'm his father. His fiancée comes from a wealthy family. Their family dominates the telecommunications industry, and their future is promising."

"Promising my ass! Is my family really that weak that we need to form an alliance with another family to survive?"

"Dad, we are strengthening our foundation for the future."

"Bullshit, you're just greedy and controlling."

"Alright, alright, let's not talk about it. Sebastian, what about you? When are you going to start a family and give us a lovely, great-granddaughter to spoil?" Lourdes stepped in, addressing their fourth grandson to ease the tension.

"My girlfriend and I broke up. She went to Burger Country to pursue higher education." Sebastian bitterly smiled, though without resentment.

"What? Your girlfriend dared to hurt your feelings? What university is she studying at? I'm going to talk to the Dean, perhaps they're interested in investment. In exchange, I want that woman out of the university immediately." Lourdes was livid. Whoever hurt her family deserved triple punishment.

"Don't, Grandma. We broke up peacefully, and I know we were not meant for each other. I just want her to live a good life and be happy, even without me." Sebastian smiled peacefully, accepting the outcome without regret.

Chapter 131 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 131

"So be it." Lourdes let out a long, weary breath filled with resignation. It seemed that even the fourth grandson wouldn't be bringing them a cute great-granddaughter anytime soon.

But knowing that the Alejandro family had extremely strong male genes, it might take a miracle, a once-in-a-lifetime fluke, for a little girl to be born into the family. It wasn't impossible, but it was definitely not easy to achieve.

Then, everyone looked at Tonto.

He was a well-known playboy who messed around recklessly, quite literally. Given his reputation and lifestyle, it wouldn't be surprising if he impregnated a woman out of wedlock.

"Tonto, before I ask, I want to be clear. If you impregnate a woman, you must marry her. An Alejandro is always responsible for his decisions, no matter the circumstances. It doesn't matter if it's a mistake. If you get a woman pregnant, you will marry her." Caesar issued a firm warning.

"I understand, Grandpa." Tonto smiled bitterly, clenching his fists slightly under the table.

In his eyes, this family was too controlling. That was precisely why Tonto practiced safe sex despite being horny all the time. He didn't want to impregnate a woman and lose his freedom, the one thing he valued above all else. He would rather remain single and sleep with many women throughout his lifetime without emotional ties or obligations. He had more than enough money to sustain that lazy dream and fuel his lifestyle.

Honestly, he couldn't understand his family's obsession with staying in a monogamous relationship. To him, it felt suffocating.

You had a lot of money, so why stay monogamous? Life was meant to be enjoyed without restraint.

'The more pussies, the better.' That was Tonto's belief, a conviction held by a man who had never once imagined settling down.

The old couple realized that their greatest regret would likely remain unfulfilled. They sighed in defeat. They understood that they were being unreasonable by forcing the men and their wives to have more children.

Everyone at the table knew the old couple was being outrageous, even if no one dared to say it out loud. Still, the men also secretly agreed, they wanted a little girl in the family too. Just like Caesar, they were tired of boys. Boys were rowdy, stubborn, and exhausting.

Especially Heneral and Almirante. The two of them were well aware of the family's circumstances. Even back in the province, in Evitac City, they had only a handful of female relatives.

They had already reached the peak of society, practically kings and princes. But something was missing. Spoiling boys was different from spoiling girls.

Heneral and Almirante looked at their sons, each silently expecting them to succeed where they themselves had failed.

Now, the third generation had to shoulder this burden, whether they liked it or not.

Rodrigo and Alfonso both felt that they would need to talk to their wives and convince them to try for another child. Just like the older generations, they were tired of seeing only boys in the family.

Their wives might even agree. After all, the idea was tempting. Who didn't want a daughter? Girls were demure, loving, caring, and adorable.

.........
......
...

"This... This is our home!"

Maya couldn't help but shed tears of happiness, her vision blurring as she stared at the house standing before her. It was amazing, beautiful in every way.

The color motif of the house was white and beige, clean and elegant. Karlos had no idea what beige actually was, but Maya did, and she loved the combination, finding it soothing and warm.

The house looked bright and inviting.

It had been six months since construction began, and now their home was finally complete.

Before entering, Engineer Montoya handed them the blueprints, plans, and perspective drawings of the house.

"Thank you, Montoya," Karlos said sincerely.

The fences were made of metal, as was the gate. The design was minimal, yet pleasing to the eye. They stepped through the gate and looked around.

Karlos wrapped an arm around Maya's waist and gently wiped her tears.

"Come on," he whispered softly.
"Let's see our house."

Before stepping into the house, they paused in the middle of the front yard, taking in the full view from a distance.

The house had an L-shaped layout, creating a wide and welcoming appearance. The shorter side of the "L" extended forward.

Directly in front of the house was the parking area with a shed, wide enough for two cars. The ground was finished with plain concrete, no design yet. The parking space led straight to the front door, making it easy to carry groceries and heavy items. It was also a good place for the twins to play.

On both the left and right sides of the house were narrow walkways, just wide enough for two people to walk side by side. Concrete slabs lined the paths. There was still no grass, only soil. These walkways extended all the way to the back of the house, to the place Maya was most excited about.

"The garden…" Maya whispered excitedly, her eyes sparkling as she peeked down the right-side walkway. "It really goes all the way through."

Karlos nodded. "Engineer Montoya followed everything we wanted. You can walk from either side, so once you start planting your flowers, you'll be able to see them from both angles."

At the back, visible from the side, was the start of their garden area. For now, it was just a clean, open space with freshly flattened soil. But in Maya's mind, she already saw flowers, herbs, and a small vegetable patch she planned to grow for family meals.

"We'll put the swing over there, and maybe a small kubo for outdoor coffee and drinks," Karlos added.

Maya sniffed, smiling through her tears. "It's perfect… even better than what I imagined."

Engineer Montoya approached with a satisfied smile, holding the remaining documents.

"You can start moving in anytime. The interior is fully finished, paint, tiles, ceiling, everything is ready for living. If you want additional cabinets or custom shelves, just let me know."

With trembling hands, Maya pushed open the front door.

Sunlight poured through the windows, reflecting off the beige-colored tiles and making the living room glow. The L-shaped design made the interior feel spacious and open.

"It's… ours," Maya whispered.

Karlos squeezed her hand. "Yeah. Our home."

They walked further inside together.

Chapter 132 New
Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 132

The living room was spacious, with the dining area to the left.

As they continued walking, Maya noticed the hallway stretching along the longer side of the L-shaped layout. This section of the house held three rooms: one master bedroom and two regular bedrooms, perfect for the twins.

The master bedroom was located at the farthest end for privacy, with its own attached bathroom. The second bathroom was located in the shared hallway, for the kids to use once they grew older or for unexpected guests.

At the center of the house was the kitchen, practical and open. It had built-in cabinets, still empty, and an open space that allowed Maya to cook while watching the kids in the living area. It connected naturally with the dining area without barriers.

The more they explored, the more Maya felt her heart swell. Every corner of the house reflected their hard work, dreams, and future. Her fingers trembled lightly as she traced the smooth painted wall.

"It's… perfect," she whispered once more, overwhelmed with emotion.

They had dreamt of having a house for years. Back when they got married, they basically had nothing. Karlos chopped bamboo and built a kubo with his own hands.

Karlos had been scared of the future, but he promised Maya that he would do his best to make her happy no matter the cost. One of his promises was that he would give her a nice house to live in, and now that promise stood around them, solid and real.

Even Karlos was emotional... He smiled and promised himself that he would drink some nice alcohol later to celebrate.

He couldn't believe that he had fulfilled that dream today. The couple inspected the house and were satisfied. The house was empty, which was understandable. They would buy appliances and other things to make the place lively. They exchanged smiles, already imagining where everything would go.

They went to the construction company east of the town and paid the remaining balance. The house cost 2.2 million pesos. It was expensive, but the couple knew it was worth it.

They then rented a sidecar tricycle to take them back to the villa.

By the way, there were two types of tricycles in their town. The first was a tricycle powered by a motorcycle. Its proper term was a sidecar with a roof, but people usually called it a tricycle out of habit.

The second was a tricycle powered by a bicycle, human-powered. It was slower, and the driver needed to spend more energy to travel. It was only good for short distances within neighborhoods.

The tricycle the couple rented was powered by a motorcycle. Once they reached the villa, they paid the driver fifty pesos for the ride.

They didn't bother ringing the doorbell and simply opened the gate, as it wasn't locked.

The kids weren't in the annex. They were probably in the living room or dining room, getting spoiled by the maids.

After Claire left a few months ago, the situation in the villa became much better. Maya was no longer worried and let the kids enjoy and explore the villa. Even the maids were very good to the twins, treating them kindly.

When they entered through the front door, they saw the twins sucking milk from their bottles. Mrs. Wanda was watching them drink with gusto.

"You guys are back," she said, smiling warmly at them.

"The kids didn't bother you, right?" Maya asked, brushing the twins' hair as they hugged her. They were still sucking their milk bottles, refusing to let go.

"The kids are so adorable. They didn't bother me at all," Mrs. Wanda said, shaking her head.

"So how was it?" Mrs. Wanda asked about the house.

"The house is finished, and it looks nice. We plan to air it out for a week before living there, to let the smell fade."

"I see." Mrs. Wanda smiled, but there was sadness in her eyes. The Alejandro family had been living in the villa for more than half a year, and she had grown used to their presence.

The villa had been lively because there were guests to entertain, and the twins were so cute that just looking at them melted hearts.

Once the family left, the villa would return to its usual boring state. Having the Alejandro family there had been a blessing.

Mrs. Wanda didn't want them to leave, but she understood their circumstances and respected their boundaries. It seemed it was time to bid farewell.

Karlos carried the twins to their room. They were happy to see their parents back, wrapping their arms around Karlos's neck with eager squeals.

"You didn't cry this time. I'm so proud of you," Maya said, tickling them playfully, which made the twins laugh.

They had figured out tricks to prevent the kids from crying: just stuff their mouths with food. When the couple left earlier, they had prepared milk bottles, soft food, and new toys to distract them. Because of that, the twins' attention wasn't on the couple, successfully diverted. It was only a question of how long this strategy would work.

"I feel like you love food and toys more than me, you bad children," Maya teased.

"Hehehe." The twins giggled and hugged her. Of course, they loved their mother the most without question. She was number one in their hearts, the person they spent the most time with, and the warmth of her embrace was their favorite comfort.

With nothing else to do, Maya turned on the television to watch a telenovela. The title of the show was Slap-soil Woman. It was a generic story about a poor woman meeting a rich man and falling in love. However, the rich man's family opposed their relationship and did everything they could to separate the couple.

It was generic, but it was always interesting and easy to follow. Especially in the early 2000s, people loved this kind of show, and Maya found herself enjoying it.

They didn't know that the leading lady of this telenovela was Roman's girlfriend, the blonde woman on the big yacht where Karlos and Roman had first met.
