  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

I have not been able to access spacebattles since late Saturday night. Is anyone else having problems, and if so, do you have any idea what's going on?

I could access it some 5-6 hours ago. But not now.

Yes.

Probably server troubles.

S'been down since 4 hours ago.

I do believe Kier might pay a little bit more attention now.

We need a dedicated server. Nothing more really needs to be said.

You know when people said things would change once Kier's lawsuit finished this wasn't what I thought would happen. :p

That ended. Xeno won i think.
Yeah Xeno won. I'd find the parts in SB which mentioned it but that's a bit hard right now.

For those unaware VBulletin was suing Kier over some code they said he stole from them.

What will happen to SB then?
Kier was supposed to start working on the lag problem since the mods and admins were unable to do anything without him.

I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for this that in no way involves Clockwork Horrors.

...
They've overrun the server room! aaaAAAAAA-

The lawsuit was about IP rights on some of the forum software, IIRC. No direct bearing on SB.

Kier's priority right now is xenforo 1.2, then spacebattles. Man has to eat...

In the meanwhile... what did SB's irc run on? Rizon or undernet? I remember #sbcreativewriting only...

same

Which means that right now would be the best time to either update my Quest or start a new one!

Okay?

Entire forum taken down for maybe one picture?

Not working for me.

Not even leaving the new tab page =/

Up, down. Up, down. Up, down. Up ... down.
It's like an electronic yo-yo, initiated by F5 key.

I don't know if this is true. But someone just said that the lag is from so many people visiting the site. Of course I asked a mod about it and they didn't know.

I manage to get on the forum just now.

I've kept an eye on the user stats on the front page, pretty much since SB changed over to Xenforo and I can tell you that the lag has nothing to do with the number of visitors. SB has pretty much the same number of viewers 24/7. Between 1000 and 1200. Was like that before the lag started and is still like that now.

So no, visitor count isn't causing the lag on SB.
