I wanted to check if the fic "Silence is Not Consent" was on here, but for some reason the search thought I was asking about "scienc is not comment". I double checked that it wasn't autocorrupt via copy paste, and searching for Silence and Consent individually worked normally.

I have no clue how or why this is happening. I'm using Chrome on iOS, just in case that is somehow magically the cause.

I just tried searching for Silence is Not Consent with and without quotations, both searches worked correctly. Try again, maybe the server derped out for a bit.

Interesting. Thanks, it seems I forgot to mention that I searched in titles only. Which is seems to be the flag that mangles the phrase, at least for me. The same words, no quotation marks, gave me normal results when not using the flag, but still gave me the comment version when I just wanted to see if there was a thread. It also removes capitalization, but I don't know if that's related or a separate process.

Interesting. I just searched titles only and got the same issue.

Silence is Not Consent no quotes, titles only checkmarked.

Original search term silenc is not comment had no results.
No results found.
Not only is the search wrong but what it says it searched for isn't consistent. It first says 'scienc' then it searched for 'silenc'

I'm using Chrome on Android so it might be a chrome thing? Can't test another browser right now.

Let's get a mod to look at this. I don't think there is a generic mod alert so random online mod, I summon you. @Megaolix

*Unamused look*

And what the hell do you want ME to do about it? Coding is and has always been admin-level stuff, not mod. Even if I can see there is an issue, I cannot do anything about it myself.

You at least know how to pass this on to an admin. When I looked at the staff online list it just showed 3 mods, so I picked one.
