Title taken from spacebattles thread.

The internet is certainly upset as it appears that manga publisher Shueisha is issuing a barrage of copyright strikes to any and all streamers and reviewers that are reviewing their manga. One YouTuber claimed that all of their reviews are being taken down due to copyright claims from Shueisha.

So far, the list of strikes are targeting the following series: One Piece, Bleach, Jujustu Kaisen, Haikyuu!!, Food Wars, Dr Stone, Saiki K, Demon Slayer), Death Note, Kuroko's Basketball, Boku no Hero Academia, Naruto, Boruto, Dragon Ball, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Black Clover.

Of course, this is just the list that's being given and many other titles not listed could also be targeted.

So yeah, if you got fanwork you liked on pixiv yet and it hasn't been taken down yet, GO SAVE IT NOW.

Even goddamn official artists are being hit.

EDIT: Turns out it was an hoax. Crisis averted!

And they think how is this going to help them get popularize their manga titles?
I'm assuming it's due to a bot (not you lol) targeting anything from their owned media, given how even official artists are getting copyright struck as well. They made the bot, hoped it'd work, and it's working in a way they really didn't intend.

The real question is, do they care if the automated bot continues on its path?

At this point I'm actually lowkey hoping that companies double down on this type of insane crackdown, which would only further erode their positions in the long run and accelerate the balkanization of media & pop culture... and thus encourage more original content.

Wonder how are they supposed to tell words of their creative makers when they can't even afford to localize most of their titles globally in good quality. It'll be a sad day when I see new talents squished before they could even bud merely because nobody can see their efforts.

Man, japaneses are a bunch of cunts about Copyrights

Even reviews... Dang

OH FUCK

Goddammit it all.

Is it going to hit the boorus? Don't hit the fucking boorus!

man, why are the japenese so stuck up about copyright? Really, if I remember well, Nintendo didn't allow gameplays of its games some years ago
Part of it is that stuff like anime, manga, and their gaming franchises have become something akin to cultural identity. Combined with them being insane sources of revenue and you got a combination of reasons as to why they wish to protect them so badly.

As a result, they've become increasingly protective of their intellectual property with them passing so many anti-piracy laws.

2021: The Sequel to 2020!

:D
Featuring more of the same, but with updated Roasters.
