As it stands a threads title is bold when there has been a new post you haven't read in it, or it turn normal again when the thread has had no activity for over a month.

Is it possible to make it an option in the 'Alert Preferences' setting page, so the title is bold not when anyone makes a comment but only when the thread creator makes a post.

I think people that only go to a story for the author's post would like it, as not to keep clicking threads that have active discussions that keep them on the first page and find nothing from the author.

Now I understand you can do this by watching a thread(which would assume more users use it than the recent page), but this is about how to make a bold thread title more informative and not relatively unhelpful as it stands.

As far as I know, alert preferences only affect threads you're watching anyways. (Well, and "you got tagged" type interactions.) So I'm not sure this would work?

I mostly use the "watched threads" page anyways.

I agree that it would be convenient to have a separate indicator for "unread posts by specifically the author", but I'm not sure what I think that would look like. (Maybe a different icon that shows up next to the thread title?)
