Well, haven't gotten a response from that guy on SB. If he does want to play, I guess he can just come down here for a bit.

This is intended to be a fairly fun game, of the Horror/Fantasy Genre, taking place in a setting loosely based off of various horror novels, Girl Genius, and a way for me to dabble in more traditional RP styles.

Anyone who wants to join in can, although I'll keep a limit of 7 Characters until I feel comfortable working with a larger group.

The system I intend to use is Big Eyes Small Mouth: 3rd Edition- I'm just getting familiar with it myself, but it looks fun.

I'd like the characters to be thematically appropriate, of course- But there's some room for justification available, if you're terribly attached to some concept or other.

Game will be starting on Mythic powerlevel, with potential to rise higher over time.

So... Go ahead and start building your characters, anyone who wants to play.

First one to state my interst here. And would you prefere more the "heroes and rescuers of maidens " or do you want frankensteins nephew and a werwolf in your party?

Tech level/Setting details? How horrific is the price of magic? This will effect character details. . .

Question how many Points do we get at Char Gen? And are we expected to work together?

Okay quick Question
1. Can we use Alternate Form + Alternate Identity with Enhanced Stats? To effectively pull a Batman?
2. Companion Y/N?
3. What is the Limits to the 'Secondary Abilities' Skill? Because I kinda want Perfect Memory + Scentless...
4. What is the Stat Min and Max? With 400 one could give each 10 or 12 no problem.

1- Alternate Form and Identity are fine, but within reason. Are you a werewolf, who shifts from man to monster under the light of the moon? Or a vampire, masquerading as a standard human? Batman is okay, but I'd like more for concept then just 'Batman'

2- Let me see the companion, and then I decide.

3- Secondary abilities have to fit the character.

4- You can have one Stat at up to 12, so long as it fits the character. The others are limited to 8.

Something to the effect of this, statwise. Just want to make sure you're okay with it.

Mad Science Homes (Name undecided)
Body: 5
Mind: 12 (He is a Homes so yeah.)
Soul: 6 (A sound soul dwells within a sound mind and a sound body)

that's 180 points out of my 400, leaving me with 220 for atubutes.
Good with you?

Since you're going for a scientist/private investigator type, yeah- Looks good.

Looks interesting.
Count me in, though I'll have to go through the rules first.

The character concept I'm thinking of right now is basically Frankenstein's Monster turned roving mercenary.
Not too sure about any details yet and I'll have to read more of the rules to figure out how to get this working.

Hmm. Thinking of playing someone with thrallherd style powers or a dark sorcerer type who has yet to become evil.

1. Actually I was planning more on Jekel and Hyde. When imbibing Chemical X he turns into a Brutish Caveman either for X Hours or until Chemical Y is introduced.

2. Well I say Companion but I think I might go for Telekintic Arms. And I had originally thought about a AI Companion.

3. Let me get back to a computer you set your Limits higher then I hoped.

Jekel/Hyde is an interesting idea. Looking forward to seeing your charsheet.

Also, since it was brought up in IRC- The cost modifier for skills is using the 'Historical Steampunk' modifier. Sorry I forgot to bring it up earlier, I forgot about it.

Also, Redon just found a spreadsheet that seems to do most of the work for you.

Have fun guys.

Look good? I know a snubnose is a bit more 1920s but it could be a viable weapon in Steam Punk. Maybe Shock Pistol?
EDIT: Added a skill, in occult so I could perhaps branch out in to magics later on.
EDIT: Mistake in point value, saved me a point. Also, went form snubnose to Single Action army.
Maybe invent the snubnose in game.

What? I've just been watching a lot of Jekyll. Also, alliteration always awesome. Aye?

Alliteration, as all art, assumes an awesome association.

It does not always assume adroitly.

A perfect point, probably profound, perhaps poignant?

Anyhow, now that's done, can you talk more about the setting?

As I said before- It's based loosely off of traditional fantasy and horror tropes, and very much inspired by Girl Genius and Dracula.

The 'setting' is a place that I'm calling the Old Kingdoms in my head for now- Enormous, sprawling forests and swamps broken up by small villages and castles, ruled by a widely diverse number of lesser kings who war and squabble among themselves like a bunch of jealous children who want each other's toys. Traders and travelers sail the sky on massive flying barges, and mercenaries join with army after army in search of fame and glory.

And during the night, a silvered moon hangs above as the cries of hunting beasts echoe through the trees.

So more medieval steampunk then Victorian or Edwardian?
