  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

I see that Ugolino has been banned. May I ask why, and for how long?

(Would have asked Ugolino himself/herself, but PMs not accepted - possibly because of the XF banned permissions. I've seen a few extremely aggressive posts from him/her today, which I'm assuming had something to do with this, but I didn't see any relevant mod posts declaring the ban. So I'm wondering.)

Well... Ugolino was actively harassing TanaNari via profile page posts after a 7 day temp thread ban. Which resulted in a 1 day temp ban from the forum.
I extended his vacation to a week, after looking into it myself, that's why he's still banned.

He was harassing two people in profile posts in an attempt to evade a threadban.
Ummmmmm.... are you sure that you guys only temp banned him? Because looking at his posts, his profile isn't marked as temp banned or suspended, but as out and out banned, plus trying to visit his profile page gives the exact same error message one gets if you try to visit the profile page of anouther perma banned user. All signs I'm looking at point to him being gone for good, unless you guys made a mistake.

Only difference between a temp and permaban is that the temp ban will end at the appointed time. Until then, the forum sees it as the same thing.

SV had to modify XenForo to make temp-banned members come up as "temp banned" or "suspended". QQ doesn't use that modification; the default is that any ban comes up as BANNED.

perhaps we need an explicit rule about asking people to act on your behalf in threads you are banned from.
That's not the sort of evasion Bii's talking about.

After getting threadbanned, Ugolino went to the profile pages of the people he'd been arguing with and continued spewing insults at them there. Among other things, he called TanaNari a "two-faced lying shitstain".

He failed at doxxing- 3 day ban. If he succeeded, it would have been permanent instead.
Ah. That explains why checking his recent posts didn't turn up anything. Mind linking me to the mod post?

Not a fan of doxxers, myself. The one time I've pushed for someone to be permabanned (from another forum) it was for that.
