Video Games General

Bought myself, and started playing Vintage Story. Got myself a mud hut, a pond, and a few basic flint tools, a fire pit, and some torches. Food is still an issue, but I got my pond with a few fish. The handbook is also a lifesaver, not gonna lie. Knapping is interesting, and I'm looking forward to forging metal.

Also, Jesus fucking Christ, are the nights dark.
 
Dunno quite why this has me giggling so hard... Atari gets in on Nintendo's retroactive patent nonsense and claims the rights to video games as a concept, citing Pong. Then goes after Nintendo. Shockedpikachuface.jpg.

Probably won't happen, and if it did Atari would probably take it too far, but it's a hilarious idea.

I did learn that Duck Hunt might be considered to have beaten Pong as the first electronic game, circa 1936. Which is interesting.

I played it, it's pretty fun. Also in addition to the standard "play the first chapter and use your save data for retail" mode, it also has a second mode that doesn't carry over to retail but lets you play around more with the mechanics and experiment with digimon types and stuff, which is pretty neat
 
I'd heard rumors and it looks like they really were doing a DQ 7 remake. For anyone who decides to play it (or just emulates the older versions :V) you're probably not going to like Maribel at first. She's spoiled and very tsun and 7 is a looong game so it takes a while for her to chill out.
