• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.

Our webhost is experiencing network problems at one of their facilities, affecting all services.

So, if the site gets laggy or not wanting to load, you know why. Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.

For some reason when I type Questionable Questing in a search engine it sends me to this site but it is in white and when I click anything it does nothing except tell me that the site is on 104.171.4.145 (which I am posting from) what is going on?

EDIT: Oh and when I click the logo for this site or hit the home button it sends me to the same white look that I mentiond earlier.

Search engines take a while to change over. The DNS changes have propagated, but perhaps not fully yet. They will be by this time tomorrow.

The white version is the current version. You can change the style in your Preferences, if you like. We have several to choose from.

Well when I type in that the Xenforo one is what I am seeing BUT I can't do anything unless I use the 104.171.4.145 in my search history.

And I do get alerts but I can't access them.

The DNS change may not have propagated to you yet. The 104.171.4.145 Xenforo forum is the correct one. Once DNS has gotten itself lined out, forum.questionablequesting.com will take you to the same place.

I am currently using Internet Explorer 8 would using Mozilla Firefox work better?

EDIT: just tried it nope still the same.

Eh, I'm not willing to commit right now to saying anything more than the server is back up.

I'm having problems checking the quests. Everytime I try to pass to another page it sends me back to the index.

Well, I was reading Alexander's High School DxD/Exalted quest, I was on page 77 and when I tried to go to page 78 it directed me to the Index instead. That's all.
Could you have misclicked something? Because I just tried replicating that, and I got to page 78 just fine.

I'm reading the first thread, not the third.

Also, the server went out again. Is this going to be happening often?
I tried replicating it. Did not happen for me.

Server Issue: Once we find out the cause and fix it no. According to theelgee is we think its host-side. So we are waiting for arnixe to let us know the cause so we can implement the fix.

You know, I remember that when you were arguing for the change that you assured us that it would not take much time.

Well, it did. And it had to be change at least twice after that until we arrived to this new version that has the server crash continuously, plus we don't get the former screen that showed the recent postings because apparently there is lag if we put them.

So far all this change has brought, in my opinion, is a whole lot of nothing new and a bunch of problems that the old site did'nt have.

If there was a vote then I would choose to return to the old site, but since there isn't I'm just going to ask if, besides waiting, something is being done to fix these problems.

*sigh*
First off: the move itself was relatively painless, and only put us down for a couple hours. I never lied nor did I make any promises in that way, other then basic assumptions which held true.

Second: the issue right now is a combination of host-side issues and PHP problems that are hogging resources way above and beyond they should be. Likely on some level being a configuration problem, which we and the host are attempting to solve. This is IT dude - expecting for perfection ain't happening and it's unrealistic, though I get why you are frustrated. We are running an instance that is far and beyond our needs, with similarly sized boards running on something comparable doing it just fine. So right now we are working on getting this fixed. And it will be.

At which point we gain access to features the old site lacked. It's true the SMF board was less wonky out of the box, but it was also a hell of a lot more limited. It's been less the a week still and we are working on fixing this. So ease off bro, until we get this under control. Steps are being taken, but you need to be patient until we get this problem settled.

Problem should hopefully be solved now, with luck (referring to lag). If not we still have a better idea of what caused it and thus are able to fix it. Well when aleth is awake again in ten hours.

Praise be @alethiophile!

I just got a second copy of all my trophies awarded.

Re-awarded, but double the points I should have.

Hmm.

Well, those trophies are all generic trophies from Xenforo's default installation. Don't pay any attention to them, because before any custom trophies are implemented, there will be a wipe of trophy points.

Sure, just pointed that out in case this re-awarding points to an issue with the database or something.
