Saw this several years ago: https://www.forbes.com/special-report/2013/what-a-billion-dollars-buys-you.html

I thought why not just talk about how lifestyles or things would change about you at every level of net worth. The interactive was made in 2013 but it really does give a good break down of everything rich people usually buy. These usually are:

  1. Houses
  2. Cars
  3. Boats
  4. Vacations
  5. Plane
  6. Property
  7. Sports Teams
  8. Charity or Giving
I thought why not have an interesting though on how you're life would change at each level of net worth (Assume USD):

  1. 1 Million
  2. 10 Million
  3. 100 Million
  4. 500 Million
  5. 1 Billion
  6. 10 Billion
I mean personally I would be more than happy living in the 100-500 Million category. You are basically filthy rich but you're not fully at the level where other people are really scrutinizing you and you can live either an anoymous lifestyle or a full blown reality show one. You still have freedom to choose how you live.

That kind of goes a way when you become a billionaire.

Still if we go with the breakdowns from the buying and the net worth what would you buy?

Nothing?

I don't exactly desire a big extravagant lifestyle. Even in the 1-million dollar bracket, assuming my current expenses and considering how much money I make in a month, I can fairly easily live to 100 years old without having to work a day in my life and have 200k left over.

Anything beyond that probably goes into sovereign bonds. Probably with the Swiss, since if they're defaulting, I have bigger problems coming than having no money, but diversifying never hurt anyone.

I think 100-500 Million is the sweetspot. You're rich enough to live the rest of your life in comfort but you're not really high profile in your area and country and no one is going to go out looking for you.
