  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

Why does SFW creative writing even exist?

Part question part suggestion:

Why does the SFW section even exist anymore? It's practically a ghost town, with most authors posting in the NSFW section regardless of sexual content simply to chase reader numbers despite no intent to ever write lewds.

Since there is no rule against it (and would be near impossible to enforce if there was), this just makes the SFW section more dead. It's a spiral of
No readers in SFW -> therefore most authors only post in nsfw -> therefore no stories in SFW -> therefore no readers in SFW -> repeat.

Suggestion A: aggregate SFW threads into the NSFW section, like SB has worm stories. Makes SFW stories accessible to everyone, but still grants them the 'exposure' of being shown in the more commonly visited section.

Suggestion b: just abolish the SFW section.
Cons: I can't think of why someone would be on here and not able to access NSFW but I assume there's one or two?

Other less optimal suggestions:

Suggestion c: Create and enforce a rule for keeping SFW and NSFW in their own sections going both ways.
Cons: would be rather unpopular with authors and difficult if not impossible to enforce. How would you even tell if it's just a plot before porn slow burn story. Authors might feel pressured to put a sex scene in their story just to qualify for the 'vaunted' NSFW section. Or throw a bitch fit and leave because "nobody reads SFW".

This can't be done until the XF2 upgrade is done. Has been suggested before.

There are the small few quests in SFW. Compared to nearly 10x that much in NSFW quest section.

Ultimately, I read stories cause they are good, not because they are lewd. It's just that this is the only forum I know of to do lewd-type stories. And you also get cases where some stories aren't sfw despite not having full lewds involved. Ultimately, it' a result of the forum. If we just removed the SFW section, we wouldn't even have anything to poke interest for non-users, just an empty page. And putting what SFW content exists in NSFW would clog it up anyway.

My suggestion would be a better website that has a number of recommended quests. Not perfect, but some voting every few months followed by a banner in the main page(Or it's own section) might help spread awareness of which quests and stories are good. Though that will probably still make people mad, cause it's the internet. If it's not 63, it's 6. Or 34/6.

You know how there's a rule in which if a SFW story got infected by the lewds a request could be made to the mods to shunted off to the NSFW section?

... well, there's not enough manpower to make that a standing policy for all stories, and automation of that probably isn't there yet. Something for the 2030s perhaps?

Yeah, the big one: newcomers visiting the site as guests, in the process of deciding whether not to create an account here.

Keeping the SFW sections out, allows such newcomers to witness the forum and its denizens in action. It allows them to intuit what the hidden parts of the forum look like. It allows them to see not just what QQ's rules are, but how the moderating staff enforce them in practice. It allows them to see that we don't act like Anon-kun, or a Youtube comments section, or one of the 'boorus. It allows them to see that unlike a great many porn sites, it isn't swamped in dodgy ads and riddled with viruses.

In short, it allows them to learn what they're getting into before they jump in - the importance of which cannot be understated, when it comes to joining a site that's primarily devoted to the generation and consumption of porn. Expect genuine sign-up rates to plummet if this is ever implemented.

Nsfw is Just flexible... you don't need to tip toe around blood, gore, and future seggs scrnes in case you change your mind
