It's pretty clearly not the remakes because Doomguy is a relatively normal guy rather than whatever magical thing he was in those, plus I'd've bet against it anyway purely because Zoat tends to be a grognard. If the movie you mention is the one I'm thinking of it's not that either, both because it just doesn't fit and also because that movie was dogshit and I can't imagine it being written about except to make fun of it.

Wait, it is the movie? From Wikipedia I now see there have been two, and the one I've seen is probably not the one you're using because there weren't real demons in it. Good to know that Doom: Annihilation is shit too, not that I would've expected otherwise from a video game movie.
 
Kudos to the guy that guessed right, its clearly NOT the movie, and since doom guy is still talking he its probably from the novelization of the first doom, anyone read those ancient books?
 
As much as Badass Normals have historically fared poorly against OL, that's the fuckmothering Doomguy. Let us hope they find no reason to come to blows.

If this is Doom Eternal's timeline, this seems to be before he ended up with the Sentinels. Originally, as I understand it, doomguy started out just fighting the demons, ends up in Hell, somehow ends up on Argent D'nur via Hell and THEN he gets infused with super 'I'ma fuck you up' powers. So this is before his ascension, before Argent D'nur, before everything.

If it was Doomslayer, aka an eldritch abomination of memes and plot armour, then OL might have difficulty. Doom Guy is… just a guy. An exceedingly well armed, phenomenally skilled and arguably 'peak human' guy. But still a guy and no threat to a Lantern that is paying attention.

I'm excited for this, I hope Paul gives him some awesome power ups.

This is neither the game timeline(s) nor the movie timeline, Flynn Taggert is the protagonist of the DOOM books; he starts out with the same backstory as our good friend B.J. Blazkowicz aka Doomguy, however their storylines diverge part-way through and Flynn is entirely unconnected to the rest of the DOOM series, save for a reference in Doom Eternal confirming that Flynn Taggert had been retconned.

Paul and co may very well be a blessing to poor Flynn here, as his fate is to ultimately get his mind copied and trapped in a simulation, reliving the events of DOOM and DOOM 2 over and over forever.

e: Also, for reference, the Doom Slayer is technically a different character from a different DOOM timeline again, but for all practical intents and purposes can be considered B.J. Blazkowicz with his name taken away because John Romero decided he wanted the Doom Slayer to be nameless to "increase immersion" as he put it. They are completely identical in every other respect save for the name.
