I recently began writing a ff16 fanfic and I need some advice on what power I should give the mc who is an si oc. He knows that he is in a final fantasy game but doesn't know which one as he died before the game was announced. I was initially going to go with Nen from hunter x hunter because I don't really see people using it in fanfics much. But at the same the time I want mc to be at least able to put up a good fight against the dominants and Eikons so I'm not sure anymore.

I also don't want to give him Leviathan or any other Eikon for that matter because I haven't played the dlc yet and it might come into play and because it seems a bit cliche in my opinion

That actually has some interesting potential, especially if he can draw copies of GF's from the Locals.

For another suggests, A Dragoon Spirit might work, since it basically manifests magic power armor. Not quite the same as FF16's protagonists, but might hold up.

I'm not quite familiar with Dragoon Spirits. What's it from?
 
Actually It would be better put the powers of Terra from ff 6 shes half eidolon or eikon have natural magic without the petrification and can get power ups from her bloodline
