I recently read a very basic Pokemon-in-Real-World type story, 精灵：我能看见系统提示, and I found that it didn't make me hate how "Chinese" it was. In fact, it was rather good, at least the first hundred chapters. A lot of reasonable explanations for things; ex. there's 100,000's of scientists and professors so they would know more than fans in the real world about most stuff... but not legendary stuff
