With This Ring (Young Justice SI) (Thread Fourteen)

Wow. That's the scariest thing in a while. Just manifesting himself out of a lantern projection. That's wild.

Wasn't expecting him to show up. That's a crazy twist.
conceptual being like him is quack

like you think about them and they have a direct line into your skull

We know lantern constructs can power runes. They were able to deduce the Violet sigil by tweaking Paul's best guess until it produced enough violet light to disrupt itself. Boss Smiley is far more compatible with Orange then Violet was.

Here's all the instances you've used the word "Smiler" I think?

One was the self-insert being wrong, several were him using it after being corrected by Boss Smiley, and one was in an informational post.

I thought it was a plot point about the SI's memory, but I guess it's not?

Though I doubt he's directly responsible. More like he's liking the result Ahri'ahns screwup.

...

Though Ahri'ahn recognized that symbol so he may be much more involved than I think.
Well, Delight, smiling face makes sense and Boss Smily is like Voldemort where he knows when people use his name

Originallly, he misremembered, but I think that he's been corrected by now?

Yeah but you don't double check the sun is still the sun when putting solar pannels on a satellite
If the sun is a living being with its own thoughts and will you absolutely do.

The Endless are supposed to be more fundamental than math.
Yes. That is exactly my point. The are supposed to be unchanging and eternal.

And that is demonstrably untrue; all the people who made the assumption that the Endless are unchanging and eternal are wrong.

You cannot properly fix a problem if you don't know what actually caused it in the first place.

Since no one knows what turned Delight into Delirium turning her back is basically impossible
You cannot properly fix a problem if you don't know what actually caused it in the first place.
This is Paul, he's going to improperly solve the problem, make things better for the short term and then things get worse when the missed details, hamfisted resolution and unintended consequences take effect.

Paul will get his Ideal world eventually after tearing the old one down a few times and a mountain range of bodies from the unintended victims of his good intentions.

Paul solved the issues of Climate change, but the casualties and population displacement from the solution are the same if not worse than if the climate disaster happened.
and so on and so fourth

Paul is Constantine with a better work ethic and moral compass and the same kind of disaster magnet.
Status Quo is god and Paul is the supreme heritic

Paul is Constantine with a better work ethic and moral compas
John has a moral compass. He just tries very hard to ignore it when he doesn't have the power to do things the moral way, and then he drinks to try to forget the ghosts. He hates himself a lot. There's a reason he let Gemma pull the trigger.

Oh, it's much harder, but if you really care, there is always the option to simply git gud. Rebuild the old state from scratch without detailed information on what it was like? Sure, that's possible.

And then the exact same problem happens again because you didn't solve the problem, you just treated the symptoms.

So a disturbing thought: is Boss Smiley a creature of Delirium like the Corinthian was for Dream?

@Mr Zoat has Constantine found 2 people to offload Order and Chaos onto yet?

Edit: I think the threads guess was this was going to be how we got Dove and his brother in the paragon timeline.

Mr. Zoat, I went over the old threads, and I'm curious - is this still happening? (Because Trigon apparently isn't showing up in WTR)

The Judgement of Azarath

Richard look at the assembled wizard in shock and horror as Rachel sobs into his shirt. Slowly, his mouth falls open as his left forearm moves around her shoulders and his right hand presses against the back of her head.

"How.. could you?" His eyes roam the crowd, as if searching for the slightest hint of a dissenting opinion. "Truly, it beggars belief that a society of allegedly enlightened mages and scholars would behave in such a callous fashion to anyone, let alone to their own mentor, to an innocent woman and to her…-" His eyes dip down to Rachel. "To a child." He takes a deep breath and then another as he tries to maintain his composure. "But a year ago I would have retaliated against such cruelty by destroying this place utterly, and you along with it. Even now, I am sorely tempted to demand a token sacrifice. Your new leader, the ones who struck the fatal blows…" He bows his head as tears like tar run down his checks. "No. No. It would help no one." He looks up, once more making eye contact with the entire crowd. "I never want to see any of you again. Grayven, Rachel, we're leaving."

Once more the shadows envelop us.

It will still happen, but not for a while.

My current guess is that Richard in this scenario is The Shade and not Robin.
Also the WTR TV Tropes page claims that Raven is planned to show up in Renegade and not Paragon. I don't see why that wouldn't still be accurate.
