Questionable Questing

First and most important question I have to ask. Is there a spell for ice? Cold? Preservation? Pocket Universe? Or any variation of what I just listed? Then how available is it? And how difficult or expensive is it to create? Because one of the most important inventions needed for long distance travel and trade is refrigeration.

You have that and all the sudden importing food more complicated than grains, alcohol, or livestock becomes possible. Think about it. Stuff like fruit, fish, vegetables, unless you're preserving it in salt or jars you can't move these items any further than a couple dozen miles using horses before they rot. Which means every single city in the world has to be only twenty miles from enough farms to sustain it.
Andy333

Refrigeration breaks all that. Suddenly cities can be in the middle of the desert, up on a mountain, in enemy territory as long as you have the logistics set up to supply it. Revolutionizes city building, how armies fight, and that's not even mention the effects it'll have on medicine and the ability to transport industrial products and chemicals as well.

There is most certainly a spell for cold. Honestly for a while. A long while.

Cold huh? How much fine control do they have over it? How expensive is it to cast or make? And can you control the area of effect?

I'll ask Jackal these questions. Also, a major part of politics is the Academies for sorcery have characters like Carggolix, you remember the Mind Flayer husband of Malora from Frozen Dreams? Wizards like them who took the ordered principles behind the Godstars magic and broke it down into the cosmic forces powering that.

Craggoliax comes from a long line of influential Godstar priests but while he still keeps to them, for magic he turns to making the divine energies controllable my man.

And from these acadmies is a offshoot of workers, traders, merchants, and mercs who side with Old God sorcerers and enchanters who are willing to contract to make money. Your guilds of magic.
These are troublesome to Lucan Star Eyes. Hamish hates the lack of self realization. He is a occultist because of the spiritual freedom it gives, not the cash.

Hurrik does have to admit to himself at least sometimes that he's speaking from a privileged position. lol. That most people don't have multiple of the most powerful and wealthy families in the kingdom to love and support him, and that most people have to work to survive. Which speaking of, you keeping the name Hurrik or changing it? I know you mentioned something about that.

They voted Seamous Gaollpi. Its a Quest. I got to go with the votes and Jackal is fine with it.

Now I don't want to say anything. They seem so excited about it. I don't want them to do what I'm doing and see Semen Gulp every time instead. lol

Reader's man. I haven't ever had any too weird suggestions. Knock on wood. But they do get some crazy ideas. Which back to the topic, if you have all these people running around taking the knowledge they gained from the school and then building their own mini laboratories out in the middle of the woods to further it, how are these hedge wizards making money for the supplies and equipment they'll need?
Bob is bob
Bob is bob
They don't have labs. These aren't schollars. They are a mix of low level hedge mages and higher potency magisters who are craftsmen, traders, and a few war mages. Many merchant families are having mages oathbind themselves to them to reinforcde the mages sorcery and connect them to a sub culture of coin.
