And before I forget, how would a mid-fantasy Groundhog-Loop setting like Mother of Learning (recently added to the Interactive WC, which I doubt you use anymore) work under your/Cherico/etc's rules? Things like Capturing someone who then gets erased and re-created at a spiritual level like MOL does, as an example, or the crazy nonsense at the end of Time Braid (the Naruto fanfic)?

So, the explanation I came up with to make the entire business model of The Company (That being to explain how specific people are a limited resources in the infinite Multiverse) work is that there's a 'Multiversal Limit' for clones of a particular person from a particular dimension, before their souls come out wrong, which means you need to capture 'essentially identical but slightly different' versions of them.
    Leecifer
    Leecifer
That in turn means that so as long as the number of that person out there remains the same, you're golden!
Before I crib any scenarios like Doomed Skies: how do you feel about Recursive Fanfiction, specifically how closely it follows your own plotlines?

Also, can we get some more 'Company Lore' posts in the Rants thread? Explanations for KoC/VV/the EXIT INTERVIEW faction would be nice, but also a glossary of terms like ROBBY since I don't recognize all of the euphemisms across all your different works?

Go for it! We set up 'The Company's as a kind of open-source fanfic setting, the Multiversal nature of the Company allowing authors to have a great deal of freedom, with the Caveat that anyone declaring how all of The Company works is just deluded, or lying.
So, I've been re-reading Draconian Remnant and, aside from realizing how many little plot hooks there are still left to resolve, I've found a deep appreciation for how well you write Torchwick. Given how little screen time he has in the show are you drawing from other forms of media to help depict him? Said another way, do you know of any other stories with torchwick like characters as I find myself craving more.
Hi Leecifer, I just wanted to say how much I've loved A Penumbral Path. I'm on my third read-through, and each time it's been a joy and a comfort to journey alongside Jorel and Anaïs. The story seems to grow with me, offering new reflections and deeper richness every time. I was wondering if you have any plans to continue it? Either way, thank you for sharing such a beautiful work.

I have plans, the issue is that Star Wars is pretty much a dead IP right now, and there's no general interest in it. One day I might come back to it,but that day is not today, nor will it likely be this year.
    Gaelic Hearths
Totally understandable. Your writing truly stands on its own, even beyond the IP, and I look forward to that day, whenever it may come. Until then, I'm grateful for what's already there.
Hey Lee, so, I know you've got LOADS of stories already but thinking over the list while at work I was wondering if you'd ever do a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles story. I see stories set in the various "main" numbered games often but I rarely see a Crystal Chronicles take.

Thanks for all of the stories you've already shared with us. I'm... still working my way through your backlog.

Probably not, because I have never played it, and I don't have enough time as is.
So your opinions on how well Worm is put together is well known, but I'm curious if you have read it's spiritual antithesis Astro City? Both focus on the daily lives of the super community more than the big battles, but while the message in Worm seems to be that things will always get worse in Astro City it was that while things can get bad for a time they can get better again.

Okay, then I'll just recommend it if you want to get into a limited series comic.

I love Astro City. I've been getting back into comics lately and Astro City still holds up amazingly well. It doesn't have a lot in common with Worm other than superheroes, though.

That's why I called it the spiritual antithesis. Worm has despair, Astro City always has the silver lining of hope. Though both deal with life outside the mask, and are more character driven than focusing on big fights like most comics. My fave storyline was the middle aged supervillan who did his time in prison and then started a failing business as a PI once he got out.
Had to break this into two posts. Second part of previous post.
    • Have you seen the YouTube channel "Overly Sarcastic Productions"? It's this neat channel that discusses all kinds of things like History to Literary Elements to Modern Media. I especially like their Detail Diatribes and their explanations of Myths.
Hey Leecifer, I just had two random questions that i keep on thinking of. They aren't really related to your stories but I was still curious.
    • Have you seen the show "Pantheon"? It's a great show about the concept of Uploaded Intelligence. I watched it about a month ago after Season 2 came out. While not a 10/10, the show was definitely at least like a 7/10.

I've read some waifu catalog fics and every now and then I see them mention Class A or Class E, I was wondering if you could maybe explain them?
Thoughts on Tokyo Ghoul? It probably isn't the kind of place a Lee would willingly go to, but I am curious what you think one would do there.

Also maybe create a thread for story discussion? That way you can threadmark stuff and don't have to answer the same questions because someone (read: myself) is to lazy to look and see if you have already answered somewhere.
Do you think you'd enjoy writing an Invincible universe story?
Feels like somewhere a person could do a lot of good with meta knowledge without making things trivial.

Maybe one day, but I've done enough superhero stuff I'll probably not.

Makes sense, thanks for the answer!
Do you have any stories that are completed or reaching completion?
Also is there any difference between stories in Multiversal Glimpses and those that got their own thread?

Technically Abaddon Born(e), found on FF.net, is 'completed', but it's really part 1 of 2. Part 2 will be started in a few years.

Glimpses is the Ideas thread, to see if anyone is interested in them, and, once they get commissioned on Ko-Fi, they get their own thread, except for DR, MHA, and ACE who get updated regularly because they're my main three.
    Sadi
I regularly check your profile just to see if AB 2 has started. Happy to see you still plan to continue that, as I can't wait to see where it's going after the whirlwind ending of the first.

Thanks for the great read, and will be starting it again today.
Out of curiosity, do you have a calendar for your planned release dates available anywhere?
    Leecifer
    Leecifer
I do not, as I've found that having a schedule like that makes me less productive, not more, as my inspiration sometimes comes in waves, so more gets done if I just post as I go.
    Leecifer
    Leecifer
If I made a schedule, I'd want to hit it consistently (as opposed to how I sometimes write a lot when the Muse hits), so I'd set it to my minimum level of productivity, which leads me to, in turn, slack off once I've hit that minimum.

If I've gotten something pre-written, like I do with new MG's, I normally shoot for Wednesdays and Saturdays, but that's different.
Would you ever do a DxD WC story? I think the WC powers would work with DxD's universe/magic, and you might be the best WC writer I've seen so I believe you could easily put something unique and interesting together.

Probably not, because I hate the Protag, but also for the same reason I'll probably never do a Walking Dead fic: I just think everyone's some flavor of asshole, and, from what I know, no one's worth jumping into that snakepit to save them from their canon fates (unlike, say, ARCANE).
    jjcoolaid
    jjcoolaid
I completely agree with hating the protag and I can't stand him, but I was thinking more along the lines of replacing him. And about the asshole thing, I can't really change your mind about that but despite how little my individual opinion is worth I'd still like to say I'd like to see it regardless, even with an AU element to make some characters more bearable.
Hey just in case you didn't know there's a guy reposting your draconian remnant story on fanfiction.net. They are using the username Throwaway1971. Dont know if its with your permission but I figured I'd reach out
Recently finished reading your work on ff, the worm cyoa. Cant wait for the next part, love your work on that story.
Random question, have you ever thought about doing a Transformer story line?
    Leecifer
    Leecifer
It'd either be incredibly on-rails, or require far too much original stuff to make work as a fanfic.
    Uncle Red Hood
    Uncle Red Hood
Simply asked 'cause I just watched a video that broke down Bayverse Transformer in a way that makes sense and found it kinda neat. If you ever have time to waste (Doubtful) I would suggest watching it. "Learning to love Michael Bay's Transformer" is the title.
I understand that your Dokishin Tensei story is part of your Multiverse Glimpses thread, but considering the length of the story, have you considered putting it a thread by itself yet?
Are any of your stories locked behind a paywall on Patreon or Subscribestar? If so, how much does it take a month to unlock everything?
    Leecifer
    Leecifer
No, nothing I have is locked behind a paywall, just early access to it is (as I dislike the practice). While I appreciate any support you want to give, if funds are short, just wait a few months, and you'll see everything that's there here on QQ, or, when I start doing Original Fiction again, over on RoyalRoad.
So I saw magical girls were put on to the waifu catalog heritage in the latest rendition. Now I can't help but wonder how you would flip that trope on its head and what IP you would use to do so. After seeing your rendition of Black Lagoon, I would be highly interested in seeing what you would do with that heritage in a MG.
hey dude have you seen interior Chinatown? it is really reminding me of LAUGHTER its so good background character in a TV universe trying to become more I love meta stuff like this really recommend it
Out of curiosity are the following books in your Lairs and Liches series named something like Caves & Crusaders and Dungeons & Dervishes? Because if so please don't copy Paolini and drop the naming scheme randomly on your last book.
