It feels like a lot of these web series tend to have the protagonist literally stare at their first newbie pack cheat reward thing (devil fruit, marrow washing pill, etc.) for half a chapter to a whole chapter. Like, yeah, it's basically them dragging it out to make chapter money, but that is like, you could take it right in front of them. As a villain, it'd be wrong not to take advantage of this trope

If you think about it, Jiraiya is incompetent. He has access to the old toad, and yet, he doesn't know anything about the history of the ninja world. He pursues world peace, but he doesn't know where the origin of chakra and conflict came from. So he's just an irresponsible, incompetent idealist, and if he wasn't the protagonist's teacher, he'd be a joke and a clown.

What's interesting is that in Honghuang setting, the Demonic Dao Ancestor Luohou, you know, opposite of the Dao Ancestor Hongjun, is most famous for his "Killing Spear" that can kill anything forever the moment it's used before it strikes, and I'm thinking did they copy this from Type Moon's E rank Luck mongrel missile dog, because this isn't in Chinese folklore
