I'm thinking with Naruto, when he has his first kid and he realizes that he doesn't want him/her to grow up to be a Ninja is when he starts to become obsessed with the idea of peaces. Basically Tsunade's nightmare of her kids getting killed, causes Naruto to do some reflecting and realize that as powerful as he is, he won't be here forever and eventually his kids and grand kids will be in danger unless he stops it.
