I hear you about dealing with science world building, how about this, you said its will power right? Is it directly manipulating energy to take certain shapes, kind of like Green lanterns, or is it just classic launching fire balls and other energy effects? Because technically those both count as projectile type weapons, if that's what your looking for.

Or if its channeling energy through something, like weapons or armor for example, maybe you could have it be where you can create different types of effects. That could work too for potential projectile weapons, and of coursers their bows, javelines, slings, spears, sky's the limit.

I know the Romans would from lines and all throw their Javelins at once before the started a melee, to help break up the enemies lines. I can only imagine how devastating that would be if they were all explosive or had some weird elemental effects.
