How much does the alt self feel? I mean I know he the ego or super ego basically, so all those darker impulses going up to the surface without restraint, but my question is if one of his harem mates was crying or upset how would it respond? How whole the alt side try to comfort her? Would it care? How much emotional range is it capable of?

Very little at the start. It would feel a response but be unsure how to deal with it. Cooking food would be its answer or getting a gift or something else materialistic. It's capable of feeling but is too animal brained. It might try cuddles as that is feral enough a response. You bring up a good point in not having it be pure dark urge

You brought up cuddling in your last post, and that could be a great character building moment. When the Dark Soul learns that cuddling and holding your lover is as fun as sex. Basically slowly realizing that love and lust are not the same thing.

Dark Souls are made of the Id. Everything is violence and lust. I don't ever particularly try to explain Incest. Now. I was really thinking having wet dreams or having the family act just a little bit closer than usual in the very beginning. Just add little hints that this family's a little off and the corruption is already their underneath the surface. Maybe they play wrestle a little too closely, or they'll sleep together in the same bed, or are really nonchalant about nudity.

Maybe a mixture of both? In the beginning their super hot, almost supernaturally so, and the mom is barely affected by aging at all, but still relatively possible. Its only after the Dark Souls starts to come out that they start going full bimbo mode and start getting curves and look's that are blatantly unrealistic.
