I want to avoid having characters having unique god per person and make it more lore based with different regional Gods to be invoked and summoned into them

How do demons work in this? Are they just negative emotions or things? Do they have cults that worship them or are they just scene as apart of the main gods? Like a reflection or another side of them?

Demons and gods are the same thing. Primal elemental raging forces of destruction and power that fought at the start of time and were given meaning by humans placing patterns on their conflicts as divine battles. Neither good nor evil, simply furious and violent and reveling in their nature

Huh that's cool, so they don't have a personality or a goal except the ones given to them by humans. So humans faith created them or at least gave them sentience?

They exist pre humanity but humans give them the greater concepts. They were just fire earth air water. But people made them so much more. Granted preistage and depth to their concepts with mystical ideas.

I do like the idea of the power of faith and how formerly lifeless beings where given meaning by humans. i don't know, its a cool way to include cosmic beings in a fictional universe and still make it to where humans are just as important as them.

Friedrich Nietzsche, the guy who really populerized Nihilism, funny enough was the exact oppisite of how he's portaryed nowadays. He relaized that in the modern world religion was going to stop being the focal point of people's lifes and that society was going to have a bit of a crisis of faith as they tried to find something to repalce it, and his big realization and life goal was to conivce people that it was okay.

That you don't need other people, religions, or great big ideas to find meaning in your life. You just need to find meaning in being yourself and that'll be enough. I don't know. This probably doesn't have anything to do with your story, but it's been something that's helped me through the years.

Well I mentioned how chi is powered by strong emotions, but if the person looses control over their emotions then it backfires and your chi fails. Basically their is two main schools of thought on that. The first, light chi, focuses on pure will power. On getting to the point where you have such perfect control over your emotions you don't let anything effect you.

There's a bunch of differnt sect's, school's, noble clans's all with a different philosophy on how to achieve this theortical perfection, but they all share stuff like rejecting anger or fear, heavy focus on mediation and rejecting temptations like wealth or sex. A lot of them are basically buddist monks, but again there's a lot of different schools with different rules on different ideas.

Like for example, one sec rejects meat because to them eating meat is decadent and cause unnecessary suffering to the animal. While another sec has a tradition of hunting and growing all their food, with their belief being by forcing you to kill your own food it teaches you the importance of it and how interconnected we are with nature.
