With Nolan also approaching Jason and offering him some support underneath the table, because Batman made it very clear no one else but him could talk about the Redhood situation.

So by the time Mark gets his powers, Jason is practically his best friend and someone that Nolan occasionally talks to and try's to help sort things out. Because for Nolan he knows the Bat families hurting over this and he wants to see it at least resolved at some point. With most of the other Justice League members quietly ignoring it all.

So Mark has been a bro through thick and thin. A admirable traits with problems later. And he's close to barbara and Cain. What if the cain girl when Mark goes viltrumite when she sees him freaks out because her training and chi powers are telling her he's a walking slaughterhouse.

Cass is secretly terrified of Mark, because she can see how monstrously strong he is and how much his eyes seem to be watching and planning. its why despite how nice he is, she tend to hide when ever he's around. Slowly transitioning into a game between the two of them as Mark try's to find her and she tries to sneak up on her.

Which is also a test. Because Cass can see Mark's instincts to kill her for scaring him, and how how he suppresses it. Proving he's actually a good guy. That's he actually just like her. Someone who's constantly repressing a part of themselves because of how evil it is.

Would this terror be new as before she just got this weird sense of both monstrous strength and killer instinct that was barley there. When he gets his powers his inner violence starts to tweek her. After the Flaxen invasion to the empathetic powers for those who have them Mark is a blaring red flag.

She'll definitely notice a change after the Flaxen invasion, but unlike everyone else it wouldn't surprise her. Mark's not any different, he's always had that darkness.

As for girls, unlike Mark they start to get into super heroing and prefer the rescue and protection bit and using words while Mark doesn't do a lot of hero work. He's preparing for the war and fighting the first scouts and spies and assassins.

I'm going to keep Amber around, since I think she matches Mark's best friend's role of being the outsider looking in. The normal view point reacting to the chaos of everything going on. Mark's gay friend is the civilian on the street. While Amber is the bright eyed recruit who's new to heroism and has starry eyes over Batman and Superman, slowly getting introduced to the politics's and what's behind the scenes.

And Zatana turned into demonic magican for Mark?

So she stays as a friend who later joins with Dick and Nolan in stopping Mark's conquest and takeover of the Viltrum empire

She's essential because not only is she a good excuse for exposition for some of the world building with some of the changes Omniman created and how the Justice League is structured, that more veteran Hero's like Mark would already know about. But also she'll give a more normal perspective to the idea's of invasions and war and the big reveals about Viltrum.
