Card game with Champion cards that level up over time as you play under different conditions fitting the playstyle of that champion and common and uncommon ally cards fighting with them
Alright, so is it a tiered leveling system where you can pick and choose different abilities and powers from a couple predetermined paths for each card, or is it like Pokemon where each upgrade is pretty predetermined?
Each champion has a set level up from normal to advanced and have conditions. Some need to be on the field and have the things happen while on the field to level up while others are like if you do 50 damage at all during the game that card will level up once it is played or when's its been on the field building up level up charge.
Alright so it's based on different conditions, you can engineer to set up based on other cards you put in your deck and maybe the buildings or effects of the board. Alright pretty cool. Any lore?
Runeterra lore which is. I don't have a summary to explain the Rune Wars or the ancient Ascended Empire or Pantheon. I have a vid you can watch for Volibear or Pantheon. Which you like?
Going to be honest, not as into card games. I like hearing you talk about it because you're very passionate about it, and hearing people talk about what they like is always fun, plus you have some fun ideas, but some random guy making a lore dump for a game I'm probably never going to check out isn't as fun. lol
Huh, that's kind of cool. I knew League was a multi billion dollar franchise, so the idea of them branching out and making card games along with cartoons and plushies makes sense, but still pretty interesting to see just how big it is that it can justify all these different business endeavors.
I know there a hero based game, and I was always curious how they balanced that many different characters from different nations and with different storylines while maintaining the core gameplay loop. It's the same problems Mortal Kombat and Overwatch has,
Where the characters are supposed to be fighting and killing each other, and yet if you actually permanently killed one off or upset the status quo you lose out on a highly marketable and beloved characters. So you're stuck in this limbo of nothing ever really changing, but having to pretend that the story or something is actually progressing in the background.
The game is disconnected from works like Arcane and Legends of Runeterra. As you'd have things like Volibear losing to a girl with a magic sniper when he is a primal god
Which reminds me that of all the hero shooters or hero games in general, TF2 is still the king in this. Not just character design and class balance, but by making the whole thing a joke, having lore reasons for why everyone keeps coming back to life, and repeatedly commenting on the futility of the whole thing and focusing on the interesting characters instead of a grandiose battle we never see.
But these different works, are they separate settings? Are they one big setting? How does this all work? And yeah SFM and TF2 practically built meme culture.
