I saw the Nosferatu. Don't know how I should feel about it. lol. On one hand I can't say it was a bad movie, because the acting, visuals, and just everything was very good. It was specifically set in the 1800's and there was period accurate accents, costumes, and lighting. Which some of the best scenes work so well because the only light is a torch or a candle.

Which all that is a shit ton of work, but at the same time. It was a very dark and depressing movie. With lost of death and I hate saying this, but rape. The director specifically said he wanted a movie that took romanticism out of vampires, and in this one blood sucking is not fun or sexy. Its gross, lots of burping and groans, and it looked very painful and very rapey.

So again, the director knew exactly what he was doing and I commend him for that. He had a vision and he executed it perfectly, completely uncaring about what people will think. The problem for me is that vision was very dark and sad.

If the vision is good at being dark and sad, it's unpleasant but good art. And I like the idea of going vampires are gross rapists. Vile but illuminating our prior perceptions

Yeah the vampire's main power was messing with people's heads in this one. Sure he was super strong and he had this connection with rats that let him start a plague and quarantine the city, thus trapping the MC's inside. But the big thing is that when he spoke, it sent the people around him into this weird trance where they slowly lose control over themselves and start going nuts.

Oh and another thing that was pretty cool, I mentioned this was a period accurate piece. Well Mr Nosferatu himself was either Turkish or Romanian and he looked it too. He had a big bear hat, this big handlebar mustache, and had a scimitar sword. Very subtle details they didn't call attention too but still pretty cool they included them.

But yeah they were definitely going for the date rape metaphor with that part. Lots of freakouts, lots of seizures. Not fun or sexy. And as for new stuff I've been getting into I've been really enjoying Snoot game and I Wani Hug that Gator.
