The cute dog is cute. He's a chestnut brown chihuahua who's actually surprisingly quiet. He's only yelped a couple times, but other than that he likes nibbling on your fingers and being held.

I just had him sitting in my lap napping for a solid half an hour. lol. Sorry it took me that long, my cousin called, the smut writer one, apparently she's going through a divorce.

Her Ex-husband, his dad's apparently dying of pancreatic cancer, and the shock of dealing with that caused him to evaluate his own life and is what pushed him to go through with the divorce. Apparently he had been unhappy for a year, felt distant and didn't like her parenting style. Plus she had taken a break from writing, after getting pregnant with their youngest, and wasn't making them money she used too.

What's really fucked up though for my cousin, is that she didn't get any warning. She asked him out on a date night yesterday since it had been awhile and he replied that he wanted a divorce, then went upstairs, packed his bags, and left to his parents house. Then mentioned later he had met someone, that he hadn't done anything with yet, but that it helped his decision.

So did she do anything wrong or is he just not voicing any of this until last minute?

Apparently she yells too much, and I mean I don't live with them so I who knows what the relationship is like behind closed doors, but still I think of all the way to do a divorce this is one of the worst ways to go about it. Like you said, he's very non confrontational so he's didn't saying anything until he had completely mentally checked out.

But this is Texas and he's the main breadwinner, so he's going to pay a lot of money in Child Support like 30% of all assets since they have three kids. It's going to take him a couple years to bounce back. Then of course not being able to see those three kids every day anymore, and instead only on weekends and Holidays. I mean I don't think he's a bad guy, but he's going to have a very rough time.

My bias is I hate yelling in principle but no talking about it and does he still want to see the kids?

And just with the way he started this whole process, he might've thought this was the least dramatic and easiest way. Just ripping the band aid off, but by denying any sort of conversation or argument to naturally occur it's going to make this a very bitter divorce. Because nobody's mentally prepared or ready for it. Or knows how the other will react under pressure.

He does want to see the kids, but like I mentioned before he is at the very least looking at other girls so I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to find some kind of rebound girl in the next couple of years and who knows how that'll affect everything.

Definitely talk about something else. lol. Sorry if I'm dumping all this on you, just kind of shocking really all the stuff going on with that side of the family. My uncle who's dealing with bladder cancer is that cousin's step dad.

Unfortunately it's kind of late. Not how I expected this evening to go. But what can you do? Probably go to bed soon, it's finally the weekend and with the new dog I'm not going to be doing much. Want to stay at home and make sure Blinkly gets settled in.
