The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
Yeah, that is because you are pulling from imgur. Imgur hasn't worked for QQ in over a year now. They changed things enough on their end that the image proxy no longer works. The solution is to use a different image host.
I will say that the appeals forum is mostly there so you can make your case, and as such, is much more in line with what we use for PMs (be civil, don't do illegal stuff), so at a high level we wouldn't smack you for appealing using Rule 8 content as part of your argument. Nuance of course is...
You can definitely appeal pretty much all moderator action, including your example of a threadlock. All accounts should have access to the Appeals forum, which is where you would make a thread and make your case.
Thread has been moved to NSFW CW Index as per your request.
This works fine as a way to ask for such a thing. Also, as riotous living mentioned, reporting a post in the thread and asking in the report also works.
So you know, the way it works is that you need to make a non-profile post (which you have), and then a mod needs to approve that post (which I have). At that point, every half hour or so, an automated system will apply the extra functionality to your account, so your posts no longer need...
So, in general we don't like links to posts from Whitehall as it is sorta bait for people to then bring those same topic on over to QQ. And from experience, that bait is more often than not taken. The way I've seen people still reference them is more in the abstract like "From the Culture War...
You will need to have a non-profile post approved, and then wait for ~30 minutes or so. We have a handy thread to post in just for that purpose: https://forum.questionablequesting.com/threads/introduction-thread-sup-all.6/
Just make a post in there, a mod will approve it when it comes up, and...
Using my modly powers, I will confirm that was the case (the post originally had WhiteWhiskey quoted in it, but that was since edited out).
Thanks for asking!
I don't really pay much attention to the SFW side of the house here at QQ, but as far as some good SFW reading elsewhere, here are some of my favorites: https://fiction.live/stories/Contractual-Obligation/KYdLejwrfNEsFXm6Q/home

So, the rule in question is Rule 7 (forum rules can be found here: https://forum.questionablequesting.com/threads/rules.1/ ). First, the thread necromancy rule only applies to posts in the Creative Writing and Quest subforums (and their NSFW counterparts). Now it says that any new post must be...
What I've noticed on desktop browser, is that if the alert button does not have the alert modal showing under it, clicking the alert button will have that modal show. If the modal IS showing, clicking on the alert button will take you to the alerts page.
One of the issues with imgur is that their image stuff does not play nicely with QQ's image proxy (which tries to pull the image directly, to then save and then serve the saved version). For general use, many users have moved to other image hosting sites.
You should be good now. As an anti-spam bot process, we lock down accounts that don't have an approved non-profile post from many functions (like changing username, or making posts that don't require mod approval). Every 30 min or so the system grants the missing permissions to those who have...
You actually can change your name on QQ. Go to your Account Details page (https://forum.questionablequesting.com/account/account-details), and you should be able to change it. There should be 'Change' link next to your username.
I've got another fanfic recommendation I thought you might enjoy: https://m.fanfiction.net/s/3224332/1/
"Counts of Blood" features Count von Count from Sesame Street visiting his old friend the Master (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer). At 30k words it is short, but it is good. Despite the...
