I had some major health flare ups happen that kept me away from this site for way longer than I'd like. Looking at some of my current threads from months ago, I've noticed that it says that any new posts after a certain point of inactivity can and will be treated as spam. With that in mind, should I start brand new threads since they might be autoflagged and get me in trouble, or am I good?
 
There's no autoflag, if you're creator of the thread you generally can just start posting.
 
So, the rule in question is Rule 7 (forum rules can be found here: https://forum.questionablequesting.com/threads/rules.1/ ). First, the thread necromancy rule only applies to posts in the Creative Writing and Quest subforums (and their NSFW counterparts). Now it says that any new post must be a significant contribution to the thread. The typical way we interpret that is that it has to be new content, not just rehashing or reacting to the old stuff.

As the thread creator, you get a TON more leeway as far as what counts or not. Unless it is something egregious like just posting "bump" or similar to push an inactive thread back to the top, pretty much anything you post will pass muster.

He's referring to the warning when posting in old threads, which is new with XF2 (and has been set at a month by QQ admins). You have to tick a box saying "I am aware that replying to this thread may be considered spam, but I still want to make a reply" for your post to go through.
