A Dream Given Form: A Babylon 5 Self Insert

Chapter 61: The Narnian Assist New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

Bester begrudgingly accepts our deal. He agrees to the terms and begins making plans to take out the current Psi-Corp administration. Once Psi-Corp is dealt with first, and that will be a HUGE socio-political shift on it's own---I will give Bester the means to stop Edgars Anti-Telepath plan, but not first without making sure Lise is safe. I could care less about Edgars himself or his staff. The man's a xenophobe, a racist, and has supported many campaigns to the detriment of humanity, and yeah I've made money off him, so I don't know if that makes me anything more than a hypocrite, but he's gotta go if all my plans are going to come to fruition. Lianna has go back to the Alexander as the Proxima ships have been recalled. Bester was partially correct on Clark's increased pogroms against Sheridan and the Alliance. There's rumors he intends on sending forces to attempt to finally take Proxima. It has...irked him...that it remains one of his few failures since the seizure of power last year. In fact I have put in a call through contacts to reach a certain someone to ask for their help a little earlier than usual. We could use her. I am sitting enjoying a cup of tea when my door chime goes off.

"Come."

In walks...G'Kar. I nearly drop the cup of tea but put it on the side table and stand to look at Citizen G'Kar.

"G'Kar...I..." I don't know what to say to the man. I should have stopped this too. I tried to keep Michael here, but he wouldn't listen....G'Kar silently with that deadly look from his single eye approaches me. I don't know what to expect but brace for the worst. I owe him at least that. Then to my surprise...he does to me what he does to Garibaldi. He hugs me.

"Mr. Youngggggg.....Mister....Younggggggg." He sing songs in that wonderful delivery Andreas had for the character and I have to do everything I can to not shit my pants.

"I-I d-don't understand." I manage to stammer

"That's the thing! Neither did I. I thought I did. I thought for the longest time that I knew what I wanted, but that was merely a lie. I have found a new purpose---the version of me when you first came aboard Babylon 5 has been transformed by the experiences that I have had, and I came here to thank you." G'Kar says

"I need to sit down." I mutter

"Please do."

I sit down and offer G'Kar some tea, he accepts and sits across from me. For the first time I look in his eye and indeed see...a changed man. There's no anger, no hatred in his eye...that I can see, instead...a great sense of contentment and---a passion.

"G'Kar...if I could have changed what was done to you I---" G'Kar waves me quiet with his hand

"That's just the thing, Adam...may I call you Adam?" he asks

"Nothing would make me more happier." I reply and he smiles

"I have been on a singular path this whole time and I never realized it until I was captured by the Centauri and forced to play---for Cartagia. I was angry of course at first, but---something changed. It could have been the lashes. The delirium that followed. I don't know...but I found my purpose. I know what I am supposed to do now in this universe, and I have you to thank for it. Through pain and sacrifice has come enlightenment."

"I don't know what to say G'Kar."

"You don't need to say anything Mr. Young. While on Centauri Prime, I also realized the great burden you have, the difficult choices you have had to make...such as with me. The decisions you yet have to make...if you need any one to talk to, I am at your service."

"Thank you G'Kar, coming from you, that means a lot. You mentioned that you have found your true purpose....I gather it is of a religious nature?" I ask

"My people would have me lead them, only three years ago there would not be anything more than I wanted than that, like Mollari among his people, but I realized that in order to avoid the mistakes of the past, we must...teach ourselves not to make them again. So yes, I have...chosen to...finish my book, and I will teach my people a better way, a new way."

"I wish you luck and I will help with whatever I can of course."

"There is a one subject that you could possibly help with." G'Kar says

"Anything."

"Na'Toth. My former assistant...I was given a false lead as you are probably aware, and haven't had the opportunity to--"

"She's currently incarcerated on Centauri Prime..." I reveal

"Right under my nose...or eye.." G'Kar mutters

I take a piece of paper and write down something and hand it to him.

"Absolutely not." he replies

"G'Kar, you need me to do this. Let me help."

"Sheridan and Delenn would kill me if anything were to happen to you. Centauri Prime--"

"Is a dangerous place right now, no one knows this more than I do. I--"

"I am aware of your Anla'Shok training Adam, it is most impressive of what you have accomplished thus far, but again I will not allow harm to befall you. I will handle this."

"You'll go to Londo?"

"He owes me yes."

"G'Kar one last thing...don't blame Mollari for this one. He was prohibited from ordering her release."

He just looks at me. Their new found friendship hasn't quite blossomed yet.

"Thank you for this. I will see you when I return."

"Wait...you're going now?"

"Na'Toth has waited long enough I think, don't you?" he says as he gets up and begins to leave...he then stops and comes back and hugs me. I hug him back now. This is a sincere hug. I watch as he leaves. Once he does my StellarCom channel beeps with an alert. I turn around and sit down at my now custom made desk, which is ten times better than the one provided me. I press a button and a very stern looking, blonde appears.

"Hello Number One." I greet

"I Know who you are, you've five minutes to make me not dismiss this call as a waste of my precious damn time."

"What I have to pitch you is going to take a little more than five minutes Number One." I HIGHLY restrain myself from using her real name, as this call is triple encrypted thanks to the computer program I now have running my little Bat Cave system here. She arches her eye brow.

"You've two minutes now smart ass. Make it quick."

I do.

Chapter 62: Tessa New

"So let me get this straight, Sheridan wants us to join the Resistance against Clark?" Number One says

"Yes. I know what you're thinking, what is in it for you guys? Well, you will have Captain Sheridan's personal assurances that Mars will be free, no longer under Earth Alliance control, if that what it's people wish. You'll also have the resources and support of our Resistance forces, including from Proxima. Number One...I know things are tough for you, and before you protest that I know nothing...I actually do know something of the struggle of the Mars Resistance. This is why I pitched Sheridan to get you on board earlier. We need each other."

"I don't know...there's an issue of trust..."

"I understand that. We can send liaisons to you from Babylon 5. You've already received aid from the Rangers, and that won't stop if you say no to this, but we're better with Mars in the fold than without. No one will step on your toes if that's an issue, and we can help you deal with a certain...ah...member of your group that has given you authority issues."

For the first time Tessa Holloran's face betrays her feelings. She knows I'm referring to Donovan. Who has been attempting to undermine her authority for months now in an attempt to cause a confidence crisis in her leadership and gain it for himself.

"So it's true about you...damn, I'd love to pick that brain of yours."

"Unfortunately that will have to wait until after we liberate the Alliance--including Mars---from President Clark's grip. I'd love to meet you in person as well, but I'm not allowed to go to Mars. Even in the accompaniment of my colleagues and with my Anla'Shok training."

"They trained you?" She asks getting even more curious

"Yes. Extensively without actually being official. So I'm not a Ranger but have enough training of a trainee."

"Impressive. I will need to talk this over with my people. Anything else? We're gonna have to cut this short..."

"I have a personal favor to ask you but it's time sensitive, you may refuse if you wish."

"What do you need?" she asks

"It's a...complicated issue, involving a person."

"You want us to get someone for you?"

"An extraction from what will shortly become a hostile situation. She doesn't deserve to be in that position in the first place."

"Ah a lady friend then..."

"It's not like that, I'm doing this on behalf a friend."

"Who, and it's gonna cost you big time."

"Price is not an issue...and um...it's Lise Hampton-Edgars." I offer finally

Tessa's eyes grow big and she kind of circles around irritated for a couple of minutes.

"William Edgars wife---that's uh---that's going to take some doing."

"I know, which is why you'll be given full Ranger support. This needs to be done as soon as I give the orders to do so."

Tessa's eyes flicker when she hears the word order.

"Oh, so you're giving us orders eh?"

"Sorry, force of habit now. You know what I mean."

"When can we expect to have to do this little...extraction?"

"Maybe in a month. I'm not sure yet."

"That's annoying as hell."

"Sorry, best I can do for notice. Like I said this will be time sensitive and that's all I can say about it for now. Will do you it? I will wire you funds. Half before, the other when the mission is completed and the subject is secured."

"You've got balls on you, I'll give you that. I will have to think about this. You said a month?"

"Give or take a few days yes."

"All right fine. Anything else?"

"That about covers it. Thank you Number One."

"Don't thank me yet, we've not agreed to anything. Mars out."

The screen goes blank and I sit back in my chair with a smile on my face. I just talked with Tessa Halloron. If Lianna never happened, I would have seriously considered attempting to---put that thought out of your head jackass and be content with what you have right now. I tap my link.

"Young to Sheridan."

"Sheridan, go."

"The hag on the dirty ball has been engaged. Will get back to us on our...request." I say in code

"Acknowledged. Good work Mr. Young."

"Aye sir."

I slump in my chair. I'm tired. I should actually go rest while I can.

Chapter 63: Counter Programming New
Warner Brothers Discovery Owns Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

Sheridan and Ivanova are talking about John's father in the War Room when I enter. It is now the end of March 2261. Things have calmed down again after the conclusion of the Shadow War. But as I've learned during my time here, that won't last long.

"You wanted to see me sir?"

"Mr. Young. Timely as always. Sit down."

"What's up?"

"I was wondering if you had any leads on my dad?" John asks

Damn.

"I can assure you that he and your mom will be fine."

"That's it? Not how? These are my parents we're talking about Adam." John presses

"I understand that John. I can't give you any details because I don't have any, I would if I could, I only know that they are both okay."

That much is true. I truly don't know where they are. JMS doesn't reveal anything except that his mom stayed with friends in Minnesota, while David eventually gets caught due to his dependency---

"What aren't you telling me Adam?"

I exhale.

"What Bester told us about them ramping up their hit campaign on you is true as I mentioned when he was here. But John---they attempt to use your parents---especially your dad---to lure you back and capture you."

Sheridan and Susan exchange glances. It's weird being in an empty War Room as I briefly look around and notice no one is here. That's gonna change real soon.

"Well, we always knew that was a possibility, I gather this is one of your fixed plots, why you were so hesitant to tell me?" he asks and I look down in shame

"Yes sir---but I've butterflied most of it with Garibaldi. He was used as part of the plan. Now that he no longer is under the influence of the Loyalists---there's no one to betray you."

Sheridan chuckles.

"If only that were true." he replies as he grasps his hands behind his back

"Sir?"

"I've made plenty of enemies over the years, even before this war, Mr. Young. Clark has just given them an excuse to act now. I trust you have a contingency plan if this still happens to bail me out?"

"I do sir."

Susan looks at me

"Oh, I don't suppose you'd like to share it with me?" she asks

"Are you available for dinner tonight?" I ask with a grin

"I think I can make it..."

Susan and Marcus have been growing closer since Lianna and I hooked up. Marcus hasn't said anything to me about it, and I didn't expect he would. But if they end up together no one in the universe would be happier about it than me.

"Good. We'll talk then. I'd like to keep this close to the chest for now." I quickly change the subject

"Any word about that ISN crew yet?" and the two of them both shake their head

"Supposed to arrive sometime today." Susan replies and I groan

"I take it you disagree with our decision allowing them to film here?" Sheridan asks

"It's part of Clark's propaganda, now I've done my part to mitigate things that happen in the original broadcast, but they're still going to do their best to edit things to portray us in a bad light."

Sheridan nods his head.

"I know, but it's important that the people back home get at least some kind of picture of how things are here. What we're trying to do...I don't suppose you have a better alternative in mind?" he asks

I look give Susan that look and she starts to shake her head.

"Do you two remember when I requested the power boost for the comm systems from Epilison III last year?"

"Yeah. I take it that wasn't just to increase our communications power..." Susan replies

"In part yes, but no I did have an ulterior motive."

I hop on the table and spread my arms to indicate the empty room in a theatrical fashion and Susan puts her hand to her forehead. Sheridan manages a smirk.

"The Voice of the Resistance!!" I exclaim

"The what?" Susan asks

"Our very own news broadcast, to counter ISN, anchored by the lovely and talented Susan Ivanova herself!"

"I love it." Sheridan says

"Oh no." Susan replies

"What do you mean oh no?" I say with a shit eating grin

"I don't want to do it." she says and I laugh

"Sir? This is technically your idea that I've borrowed, but it will serve two purposes. The first is to give a voice to the people. To see what is REALLY going on out here. Our hopes, dreams, and desires, etc. Susan is the perfect person to anchor, she exudes trust. The people will like that. The second purpose will of course be to have the War Room useful again. Everything is already set up and prepared thanks to me...we just need to do this."

"I like it Mr. Young. Sounds like something I would think of---inspired by World War II?" He asks and I point to him

"The very war sir!"

He turns to Susan.

"You'll do this, and you'll do it well." he says gently

"Yeah...it's not like I have much choice anyway. You're the Captain." as she walks out of the room

"Remember, dinner, my quarters, 19:00 hours!" I call after her and she waves back

"Yeah, yeah, see you then."

Sheridan looks at me

"You're looser around her now, I've noticed. Not as tense." and I continue to smile and sit back down in a chair

"Lianna changed everything John. I didn't expect it to, one of those rare variables that just happened, and I'm glad I did. I still care for Susan, that will never change, but yes my feelings for her have...been refocused."

"I'm glad that things have worked out for you in that regard. You're positive about my folks?" he asks still concerned

"Yes sir. If the betrayal happens it's going to be difficult, and something that I can't predict. A total wild card involved."

He nods.

"All right, thank you Mr. Young. You're dismissed."

"Just one last thing I wanted to run by you Captain." I say

"You've got two minutes." he says

"I'd like permission to put Lyta on retainer." I say and his expression changes

"For what purpose?"

"Sir, I owe her a lot. I've betrayed her trust by asking her to do something I swore I never would. She has sacrificed a GREAT DEAL for us. She has been taking odd jobs, but a lot of folks won't hire her out of fear of Psi-Corp fines. Having her on retainer---means she can keep her quarters, have a life outside of the Corps, while working for us still, and STILL being able to do the odd job here and there for others if she wants."

Sheridan sighs.

"All right. I trust you to know what you're doing." he answers and I beam and thank him before leaving

Now to do my best and avoid the ISN reporter, Dan Randall...and I think I know the place to just do that...

Chapter 64: Moving The Pieces Into Place New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit

The ISN crew are here for a couple of days. I make myself scarce as I work out in the gym. Dinner with Susan went great, our relationship is much more comfortable now that I am not pursuing her romantically. We are developing a good friendship. I tell her what my plan is to deal with Sheridan if he is captured.

"They put John in Fort Walters?" Susan intones almost shivering

Fort Walters. On Mars. Specifically, Solis Planum. Earth Force's nearly impenetrable maximum security facility. Only the nasty of the most nasty are sent there. It also happens to have a guard population of the most corrupt Earth Force officers in the Clark regime. They restructured the place for political prisoners and other, undesirables after the Ministry of Peace was established. It is now under the purview of Nightwatch with cooperation from Psi-Corp. Unofficially.

"Yeah. For several days. Garibaldi, Stephen, and Lyta break him out with aide from the Mars Resistance."

"I see why you would attempt to butterfly that...are you sure you have?" she asks

"I don't know. The main key was getting that Psi-Corp programming out of Garibaldi. That is what THEY wanted him to do, isolate all his friends, argue with John to the point of discontinuing their friendship, then when the time was right, they'd activate the programming and Garibaldi would lure John to Earth with false information regarding his parents, and Clark's forces arrest him and take him to Walters."

"I have no idea who might attempt that now...John's correct when he says he has enemies, but if there was a plant on B5 we would know about it, wouldn't we?"

"Perhaps. My personal guess, and it's just a guess, if this still happens, it will be someone with a connection to Babylon 5, but on the outside. I've been wracking my brain attempting to come up with possible culprits but don't have any."

At least none that I'm willing to voice concerns about.

"So your plan is to inform Hague if this happens and request...orbital support? You want to crash Fort Walters? Won't that alert them?"

"I thought of that so I scratched that idea, but the General needs to be informed if Sheridan is captured. If they decide to take him anywhere else BUT Fort Walters we're fucked royally."

That would truly be a game changer. If this happens any differently than in the show--we could lose John forever before the war even begins.

"We'll deal with it when it happens, this is very good by the way." Susan says of the Meatball Soup and salad I've prepared

"Thanks. I thought something a little different tonight. May I ask you a question of a personal nature?" I ask and that makes her arch her eye

"Sure."

The answer would have been no just even at the beginning of the year. We've progressed in our friendship.

"I uh, don't know how to bring this up so I'll---"

"You want to ask me about Marcus and I?" she responds bluntly

"Yeah...you ah know...how he feels?" I ask

"I've known for a long time Adam, as well as how you felt about me before Lianna came into the picture." she replies. She's got mad skills.

"Oh." I blush

"My personal business is my business, and no one else's. I know you're asking out of genuine...encouragement...but I'm not comfortable talking about any romantic prospects right now." she answers

Or like ever.

Some things don't change.

"Okay. I respect that. Let's change the subject then, I thought we'd talk about the VOICE OF THE RESISTANCE!" I exclaim with my old school news anchor voice

"I'd rather talk about my love life." she groans and I laugh

"Susan, I know you're uncomfortable with this but we need this. We need something against them. If you want I can go through the news and come up with a script for you that's comfortable to read. We can make the broadcasts short at first, say a half a hour, until you get comfortable and then we can increase them."

She sighs and agrees. A few days after the news crew leaves. I am called into Sheridan's office where Marcus and Stephen are already there.

"Gentlemen." I say

"Mr. Young. I've decided to send Stephen and Marcus ahead to Mars. The Hag on the Dirty Rock has agreed to receive them as part of our ongoing cooperation." I nod and he turns to the two of them.

"Communications silence after you make contact with the Resistance. You'll be on your own. Anything they need to know before they leave, Mr. Young?"

"A few things. Number One is in charge, but she's dealing with internal forces that don't agree with her approach, things are stressful, and can change at any moment. Be patient with her, also give her this."

I toss over Stephen a velvet pouch.

"Centuari...Adam..."

"I don't want to hear about it Stephen, I had it exchanged to Earth Force credits. Number One will know what it is for, and no you two don't need to know. You're not involved in this."

The two of them say their goodbyes and I turn to John.

"Is there anything else?" I ask

"You're going ahead with the Edgars operations then?" he asks

"Yes. Almost everything is set in place. I've tried my best to mitigate the collateral damage. I can't count on the variable of Bester's team."

"How'd he take the news about the virus?" Sheridan asks

Not so great.

"Not good. He accused me of withholding invaluable intelligence pertaining to the well being of his people---which made me laugh."

"Adam..."

"Well...the irony of the statement coming from him of all people..."

"Even so...it's not a good idea to provoke him in anyway. I'm still not comfortable in sanctioning the loss of life...Edgars..."

"Edgars is a monster sir. He was involved in things---that no one should be involved in. We're talking about beyond heavy black ops stuff. No known public photos, no interviews, no public appearances, and sir...he's been manipulating the Alliance for decades, and no one knew about it." I explain

"Is he behind Clark?" Sheridan asks

"No. The Shadows and Psi-Corp are Clark's backers as I mentioned before. Edgars was neutral on the matter, at best he considered it a problem that would eventually be removed by the political process. Edgars is kind of a shadow power broker, pardon the analogy. Has his fingers in many pies. His biggest project though is the anti-telepath virus. He put a good chunk of his massive fortune towards it. If it was distributed, it would wipe out the entirety of all known human telepaths, and could potentially affect Minbari and others as well."

"Still doesn't sit right with me. Your plan is dangerous Adam."

That's an understatement. If any thing is off---it would be a disaster of epic proportions. I did say I suck a Risk. This is going to be a test of my logistical planning.

"I know. As long as Lise is safe though...that is all that matters to me. I don't care about the rest."

"I assume that Number One will contact you once Lise is secured?"

"That's the plan yes. No communication means we've fucked up royally and Michael will kick my ass."

Seriously, maybe more than that.

"He's not going to be happy you did this without him, you know." Sheridan states the obvious

"I know, but it's better than the alternative was."

Yes. That is what I am justifying this as. My family and friends would be horrified that I planned all this. Show or not.

"For your sake, I hope your right. Dismissed."

"Aye sir."

Chapter 65: Black Ops Prep New

I forgot to tell them about Captain Jack, and John doesn't want us to use Stellar Com with them unless it is an absolutely emergency, I would think that someone set up by the Drakh to assassinate Tessa would be a great excuse, but maybe not. Za'Ha'Dum is still intact since no one visited it. Rangers occasionally patrol it but have reported no activity so if the Entire are using it, they're hiding their fleet well. Perhaps this bodes well for my plan for the Centauri, if they're still mainly using Za'Ha'Dum as their base of operations, that means they are not on Centauri Prime, and Shiv'Kala is isolated with maybe a small fleet on standby in the system somewhere. I haven't fully completed my plan, it will take years to execute properly and I will start to have to talk to the key players about it--but---my door chime goes off.

"Come."

To my surprise Londo Mollari walks into my quarters and has a look around.

"Ambassador, this is a surprise, to what do I owe the honor of your visit?"

"I have come to thank you once again, Mr. Young. It recently came to my attention that you..." he struggles to control his emotions. He's found out about Adira

"That you were responsible for safe guarding Adira Tyree, from certain people who would have killed her to use me, that alone you have my thanks, but I was wondering where she is?" he asks

I sit down and offer Londo, Braviri. I keep a small selection of both human and alien liquor in case I entertain guests.

"Braviri...you have fine taste Mr. Young." he accepts a glass

"The Lady Tyree I can assure you is in a safe place, where no harm will come to her. She's guarded for her own protection, but last report I had she was happy and thankful. As for seeing her...Ambassador..."

"Call me Londo. My friends call me Londo..." he says almost sadly---as he has almost no friends. I'm touched.

"It's still too dangerous Londo. You have enemies out there that you don't even know about, I don't want anything to happen to Adira because of that."

"What of Timov, is she not in similar danger as my wife?" he asks

"Of course but we both know Timov can take care of herself, and has protection that Adira would not have on Centauri Prime."

"Yessss. May I ask you a question, Mr. Young?" he asks

"Of course Londo."

"Why have you done this for me? You have...looked out for me despite the things I have done. I do not deserve such...aid." Londo asks

"I think I'm here Londo, to try and make this a better place. Not just Babylon 5, but the greater galaxy. We all make mistakes, I've made some even, despite having good intentions, I'll make more in the future. But I know what your destiny is Londo, and I promised myself if I ever had the opportunity to do so, I would relieve that from you as best I could."

"I see. You know of my dream then. Of G'Kar and I at each other's throats..."

"Yes."

"Then it comes true..."

"I can neither confirm or deny that Ambassador. All I know is that everyone's lives are theirs to shape as they please."

"I thank you from the bottom of my hearts Mr. Young for Adira. You will alert me when she's...able to be free once again?" he asks
I smile getting up.

"I think you'll know when that time comes Londo, but yes." I bow slightly

Londo puts up the number three.

"This is three times now that I owe you, yess. I know you will not accept any money, but I won't forget this."

"Just live your best life for me Londo, and continue to look out for Vir." I say winking at him and he laughs

A little while later I get another surprise visitor.

"Come."

It is Delenn.

"You know why I'm here?" she asks

"You're leaving for Minbar, to address your relationship with Sheridan to your clan, the Tenth Fane of Elleya."

"Yes. I came because..."

"You want to know if you're coming back."

She nods her head.

"You'll be back, and you and John's relationship will continue to grow stronger. I wish I could come with you, I'd love to see Minbar."

"You would not be accepted there..."

"At least not during the grilling session no."

"Grilling session..." Delenn frowns as she ponders the words

"Your ordeal in the Dreaming."

"Ah...."

I do not tell her about being a descendant of Valen. That is part of her self-discovery. We can talk about it if we have time when she comes back

"If I do not come back, I wanted to---thank you for everything." she says

"Your welcome Ambassador. The honor has been mine. Your friendship and mentorship has meant a great deal to me. But you'll be back. We'll have some interesting things to talk about as well." that makes her arch her eyebrows

The two of us bow to each other as I watch her leave, the bottom of her robes sweeping gracefully against the deck. I then sit down at my desk and turn on all my monitors to await confirmation of Bester's mission...

I sit down at my desk in front of my monitors and with the specialized ear piece given to me, listen in on what the operation. The plan is two fold. Bester's team is to storm the main laboratory facilities, and destroy what he has to, like in the episode proper this occurs in. He is not authorized to access any other part of the house. If he kills Edgars, Wade, and the like, fine, but the the deal is immediately off if anything he does harms Lise, or worse.

"This is Bravo Leader to Alpha Leader. We are ready to proceed sir."

"You have your orders, Bravo Leader. No mistakes."

"Understood sir."

I hear commands being relayed and both teams are in place.

"Alpha Leader, this is Gold Leader, we're absolutely clear on what our objective is?" I ask Bester

"Crystal, Gold Leader."

I then bring up Number One on Stellar Com.

"The Strike team is in place about to hit the compound. You're authorized to go. I don't know where she'll be, so you'll have to--"

"My people know their job." Tessa snaps back and I just nod

"Acknowledged."

A few minutes passes without any communication and my door suddenly opened, by force from the outside, I immediately get up and it's Michael. A very angry Michael Garibaldi.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" he asks with considerable restraint. I take out one of the ear buds.

"I am not surprised you found out about this, I'm trying to save Lise for you."

"By having her husband murdered?"

"Her husband is a monster Michael, you can explain it to her when you see her."

"You should have come to me damn it. You don't---" I put up a hand and replace the ear bud.

"Gold Leader, this is Alpha Leader, we have successfully completed the mission." Bester reports and I blink

"Already?"

"Yes."

"You stuck to the agreed upon target?"

"Of course. It's done."

"Get out of there..."

"We're already gone Gold Leader. Ceasing comm." and my audio cuts out

"Damn it." I say

"What?" Michael asks

"The first part of the mission is over. Bester's team successfully has destroyed the virus and the lab facilities."

"Adam if Lise is---"

Stellar Com pops back up with Tessa's face.

"We have the package Silver Steel. We're proceeding to Alpha Site." and the screen goes blank again

"Does that mean?"

"They have Lise, and William Edgars is dead." I say

"This was..."

"Something that needed to be done Michael. Yeah, I should have come to you, but time was not on our side. This is what they were using you for my friend. Bester wanted the information on the anti-telepath drug Edgar's was developing. Somehow they had moles within Edgars or something and found out about it. That is what he altered the original Psi-Corp programming for, you would act as his means on obtaining the information, so he could destroy the facility and save his people."

"Lise?"

"You're able to locate her with help from the Resistance, after Lyta confirms that you were set up by Bester and Psi-Corp."

"You really have...prevented me from experiencing all that..." He says starting to fully digest what I've done for him.

Tessa pops up on screen. Lise is standing unsure next to her in some kind of Mars safe house.

"It's done. As you can see Ms. Hampton-Edgars is well---"

"Lise..." Garibaldi intones into my mic

"Who are you?" Tessa asks of Garibaldi

"He's a friend. Thank you Number One. I'll wire your funds to you shortly, get out of there. You're sure that she's okay where you are?"

"It's a highly secure bunker, no one knows about except us. She'll have security. Unless you'd rather us take her with us...not sure if that will be any safer."

"Take her with you, we'll arrange pick up, and extra funds upon safe arrival."

"Acknowledged, if your friend is going to talk, he has a few minutes, then we're bailing."

"Thank you Number One."

Tessa just nods and leaves off screen.

"I'll let you two talk to each other, but you heard Number One, you don't have a long time."

I get up and leave my quarters. I start shaking. I put my hand against the bulk head, then use breathing exercises to calm myself down. It worked. Now I'll have to find out about the causalities. I tap my link.

"Young to Sheridan..."

"Sheridan, go."

"It's done sir. Both missions were a success. I think Michael is going to want to go get Lise himself."

"Well done Mr. Young...I told you he'd be pissed."

"Seeing Lise saved me from getting my arse tossed out an airlock. He's gonna press seeing Lise sir, I suggest we let him."

"Agreed. I'll talk to him when he comes to see me about it. Well done Adam."

"Thank you sir."

I take a couple of moments to myself, before heading back into my quarters. Lise is shaking, but she's been through a lot, she'll get through this. Hopefully, with Michael now at her side.

"I'm sorry, but we need to wrap this up...Ms. Hampton-Edgars, I apologize---"

"You have nothing to apologize for---Michael's explained everything to me. I hope to meet you when this is over."

"I look forward to it. You'll need to hurry. We'll arrange pick up, but it won't be for a few weeks I'm afraid."

"Screw that...I'm going to talk to Sheridan." Michael gets up and I smile, predictable.

"He's waiting for you."

Lise thanks me again and I cut the channel and slump back in my chair. Garibaldi turns around to thank me before he leaves.

"This was one of the most dangerous, stupidest, moronic things i've ever seen, but I realize why you did it, and you have my thanks. You wanna do something like this again, you come to me first? Understood? That's not an order. That's I'll knock you on your dumb ass if you don't!"

I nod and we both hug slightly and he takes off

It will be interesting to see how ISN covers what just happened....

Chapter 67: Damage Control New
Warner Brothers Discovery Owns Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

We've now just entered May 2261. Stephen and Marcus have arrived on Mars and begun working with Tessa who has accepted them, and by extension, our help. We've made good on our promise as well by providing limited funding, and continued Ranger assistance to the Resistance. The ISN propaganda piece on us airs and it's not as bad as it was shown on the show since all the Garibaldi stuff has been butterflied. It finishes with painting John as a alien sympathizer and traitor to his race. Thus, the true intent of the piece. It angers Sheridan naturally as it does in the episode as I begin to filter through news items.

The War Room is once more alive with activity as we've transformed it into The Voice of the Resistance broadcast studio. We've more processing power than ISN does right now, and can reach more people thanks to Draal's efforts, and a little help from Zathras. The techs fine tuned the equipment needed to broadcast. Ivanova is sitting in her chair in the newly installed anchor desk. We're actually looking pretty professional. I hand her over some papers.

"This is all the news I've pulled from various sectors that ISN has chosen not to focus on."

It was actually fun to be able to utilize my writing skills for once.

She looks down at the script and notes, then back up at me.

"You're not going to report on Edgars?"

I shrug.

"I'd prefer not to in this case. ISN will most likely blame us, which is fine. It was a black ops mission Susan. No need to clarify blame."

"Okay gotcha."

"Now remember, this is the first broadcast, we're going for thirty minutes live. Not sure if we'll get feedback or not, that's not really the point, but if you are comfortable we'll ratch it up to 60 minutes. You've got this Susan. Just be yourself and you'll be fine."

I wink heading off the platform and I sit down at the round table to watch the broadcast. A tech acting as floor director begins to count her down. She looks at me one more time, and I just nod. The lights in the studio dim and a spotlight shines on Ivanova, making her look like the radiant angel she is. We're now live. I absolutely hate the Voice of the Resistance logo, it looks cheap, which of course is the point. We're an underground op here. JMS' words make for a great script. No reason to change the opening...I sprinkled in stuff to reflect the changes I have made of course but if it ain't broke...

"This is Commander Susan Ivanova of Babylon 5, and this is the first official broadcast of the Voice of the Resistance. We're sending this signal out to every ship that wants to hear the truth. To our colleagues on Proxima III who have declared themselves the Government in Exile, to our freedom fighters on Mars, and Orion VII, and to Earth, which despite what you may have heard, is still our home, and still the one dream that we are as loyal now as we have ever been. Over the last three years, since President Clark took over after arranging the assassination of President Santiago, you have been hearing nothing but misinformation, propaganda, and outright lies. Now...we're gonna tell you the truth, and we're going to keep telling it. We'll keep telling it until they shut us down, or President Clark resigns and returns Earth to the hands of our people. You can kill us, bomb our colonies, destroy innocent civilians, but you can not kill the truth, and the truth is back in business."

I have tears in my eyes and refrain from jumping out and shouting. Claudia was such a natural. Underrated actress. Susan nails it and we jump into the broadcast. Susan is a natural at this despite her hesitation. After the final story is read, which was about something about Drazi shipping lanes, the lights go back up and the director yells cut. I rush over to the desk.

"You were absolutely fantastic!"

"I've got a bias audience." she replies standing up, ever the stoic

"Not at all. You were great. You nailed the opening, and treated the material with the seriousness it deserves. Fuck the loyalists and their propaganda. We've got you!"

Okay, settle down Adam, you're laying it on too thick. LOL.

"Thank you, Adam." she says almost blushing

Sheridan walks in.

"Congratulations to you both, especially you Susan. That was tremendous." he was watching from his office

Sheridan's link goes off before he can continue. It's Corwin.

"Sir, you may want to turn on ISN right now."

He orders one of the techs to switch on ISN. The liquid based view screen shifts and ISN live feed now displays their report.

"Two days ago, the Mars industrialist William Edgars, was found dead in his compound on Mars after deadly attacks were conducted by unknown terrorist forces. ISN sources indicate that rebel forces are responsible for the attack, which resulted in a dozen people being killed, including Edgars head of security---identified only as Wade, and several other staff members either caught in the crossfire or attempting to stop it. Edgars himself, was found dead by Mars Police, while his wife Lise Hampton-Edgars seems to have come out unscathed. Details on the specifics of the attack aren't clear, but Edgars main pharmaceutical lab was completely destroyed. The Board of Directors now will have to deal with this incredible loss, we've been informed that with Edgars dead---Hampton-Edgars will inherit the company. More on this as it develops."

I frown. Uh-oh.

"Turn it off." Sheridan orders and someone does so

"So the potential consequences of your attempt at playing spy are out there now. They may implicate Lise of arranging the murder of her husband, detaining my Security Chief who has gallivanted off to pick up his lady love, when I need him the most. At least they're blaming us as you expected. What are you going to do if Lise is implicated in Edgars murder?" Sheridan asks

"She won't be. Tessa found her in their panic room, terrified. Bester's team did his job precisely as we agreed upon, and Tessa kept the amount of extraction people she used extremely small. They wiped all the internal security cameras as well. If they interview her, and conduct tests, they'll find nothing. For all of his faults, Edgars loved Lise. Enough to protect her from his operations. He told her nothing and kept her in the dark about everything so she'd have..."

"Plausible deniability if anything like what happened---happened. You're damned lucky. I know I sanctioned this, but I shouldn't have. Garibaldi should have headed this. You're not to do anything like this again unless I or Garibaldi ask you to. Is that clear?" Sheridan orders

"Yes sir."

"Hopefully this won't blow up in our faces, least thing we need to deal with. All right. Great first broadcast, how are you feeling Susan?"

"I'm good. I thought it went okay...Adam was impressed."

"That's a good start. Starting out with the truth about Clark right away is a gamble, but the more people know, the better. All right. I'm heading back to CIC...hopefully nothing else decides to ruin today." He says gruffly

"That was decidedly less yelling than I expected." I say

"He's restraining himself, he's been on edge since Delenn left as you know."

"Yeah. This was not something that needed to contribute to that. I focused only about Lise, but not that anything would reflect on her negatively."

"That's the trouble with these sorts of things, not everything is taken into account. You're dipping into things since you've been here, you've never experienced before, only seen, and that's all and good, but experience goes a long way sometimes." she gets up and leaves leaving me to contemplate my actions.

Chapter 68: Threat Assessment Report May 2261 New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

To: Captain John J. Sheridan.
Commanding Officer/Military Governor: Babylon 5.
From: Adam Christopher Young, Civilian Consultant (Unofficial)
Threat Assessment Report

Thursday May 15, 2261.

As per request from Captain John J. Sheridan, I have been asked to compile and write a galactic threat assessment report, in an attempt to ascertain continued enemy threats post Shadow War, and as we enter into the final conflict of the Earth Civil War. This report would be considered ultra violet alpha level of clearance to read.

The Drakh Entire: Quite possibly the most dangerous external threat no one knows about. I should have informed you of their presence earlier than I did, I should have done a whole lot of things differently, but this isn't about mistakes. The Drakh worship the Shadows and what they stood for, being genetically manipulated by them eons ago. Reptilian in appearance, they have a tough exterior scale like skin, two prominent crests that bend around the base of their skull. Perhaps their most distinguishable feature is the specialized pouch they carry on the upper left side of their chest, used to bond and nourish with newborn...keepers. The Drakh were created to serve the Shadows, and both worship them as their God, but also consider themselves their "children". Now that the Shadows have left our realm, they feel like they have inherited the galaxy and must take up the great work after them as their natural successors.

The Drakh possess unknown degrees of telepathic and telekinetic ability, their telepathic abilities assist them in controlling the Keepers and their hosts. They are in turn able to see, and feel everything the "thrall" or host can. A keeper can not hold liquor. It is perhaps one of the few weaknesses, if any the keepers possess. The Drakh can also manipulate a thrall (host's) dream state or sense of reality. It is a limited ability, and not able to be used over long distances. They form as a Hive Mind collectively, when not, they have caste systems similar to the Minbari and other such races. Although not confirmed, the Drakh are operating out of the remains of Za'Ha'Dum since it has not self destructed/been destroyed like in the television series where I come from. Their fleet is most likely hidden, and therefore it is currently unknown how their strength, assume the worst though.

The Drakh also possess the ability to deploy a "Death Cloud" which is composed of extremely advanced nano-tech interlaced in a movable latticed superstructure. Only Vorlon technology can detect a Death Cloud---as we were able to so on White Star 2. The Death Clouds are able to drain heat energy, enabling them to shut down ships, including their jump gate engines that are within it's general vicinity. The main control centre is hidden deep inside the cloud, and can only be destroyed using beam technology such as high intensity lasers. Finding this centre though is extremely difficult. The Death Cloud also is capable of deploying biological weapons upon a target, and can infect a planet in seconds doing so. The nano virus immediately adapts to it's native species it is attacking, and then it is a matter of time before it is able to outright kill that species. There is currently no known cure for the nano-virus. Recommend extensive research by the Xenobiological Research Department when possible.

It is unknown how many planets throughout the galaxy the Drakh have embedded themselves on. Centauri Prime should be considered a possibility given it's connection to the Shadows. It is in it's infancy, but I have a plan to deal with the Drakh. We will discuss it upon completion of the Earth Civil War.

The Centuari Republic: The Centuari Republic are in a perilous place in their history. Coming out of the Narn and Shadow Wars, they possess aside from the Minbari, the biggest fleet in the galaxy, and are willing to use it should they feel provoked. It may not appear like it right now, but they are a declining species. This is why elements in the government, including Ambassador Mollari, are so desperate to reclaim their past glory. They can feel it in their bones and are desperate to cling to some fathom of power. The Shadows enabled them, however briefly to realize that power. The brief tyrannical reign of Emperor Cartagia, nearly ended in disaster for the Centauri, as the Vorlons targeted them in their purge, in spite of my warning, they escaped total destruction by their hairs on their chinny chin, chins. It was that close. The remaining old guard in the Centaurum yearn for conquest and glory, so will still be looking to take advantage of any unsuspecting species that have inferior defenses and are relatively nearby. Mollari's ascension and increased influenced will be able to somewhat deflect these...needs, but external forces have other plans for the Centauri. The Drakh will look to ensnare the Republic as revenge for the destruction of their God on the Island of Selini. Again I have plans to help the Centauri, but they are years away from being effective at all. We could dispatch Anla'Shok to deal with them, but it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack as the Drakh are extremely good at concealing themselves. This is one of the reasons why I've not revealed this to anyone yet, I don't know how to help the Centauri at this point. My plan is set for the future, as things stand now...they are on their own where this is concerned. Continued diplomatic overtures to the Centaurum are recommended but considering what I just revealed, I'm not sure what the point would be.

Drazi Freehold: You maybe asking yourself, why the Drazi are on here? While not a traditional threat---their impatience at becoming an ally of the greater interstellar community we are working to build, gets the better of their warrior mentality and they attempt to attack the Brakiri. Events progress where they participate in a joint attack against the Centurai Republic as well. This situation can be resolved early if we are able to assure them that no one will attack their borders. It is my guess that they were provoked into attacking, either by the Drakh, or elements within their own government. Aggressive diplomacy should resolve this before it gets out of control.

Earth Alliance: We are nearing the end game of this conflict with Earth. What began with the tragic assassination of President Luis Santiago on December 31, 2259, by William Morgan Clark, will end in the coming months. There has been little in the way of physical conflict with Earth, as we've entered into a sort of cold war state with them. With the Shadows now gone, Clark lost a powerful ally. With our plan enacted to remove the influence of Psi-Corp, that will further impair Clark as two of his most powerful allies will have been taken out of the picture. I'm unsure if the latter can be done within the short time frame the final battle will take place in. Clark's Administration in response to our victory over the Shadows, has increased it's Propaganda war against the resistance, primarily targeting Captain Sheridan. This has so far appeared in the form of recent ISN reports about Babylon 5, and will continued in increased increments over the next several months. Countering with the Voice of the Resistance is a start.

General Hague being alive has changed the game slightly in our advantage. Without him, we would have been in a worse position than we are now, with him though we have all the ships and fighters that have defected to his side which is nearing around 55 ships. The Loyalists still out number us at least two to one, including possessing the Advanced Destroyer Group which is currently six ships. We'll have to target and deal with those first, I recommend dispatching Susan in command of a White Star fleet to take care of that. President Clark will begin to get "itchy" sometime around October and November. General Hague---if he is ready---I recommend act as our front lines and early assault group. Ideally, we could target Mars first with Hague's group. Clark will want to focus on you, Captain, so we should take advantage of that. The General's forces can concentrate on the remaining colonies, while we engage the big boys. I'll leave the actual planning to you and the War Council. Given the alteration that Proxima is in our possession already, we should again target Orion VII first as they will have suffered through sanctions and blockades, then IO. However if we split our forces like I've suggested, we can talk about who takes what target as we march towards Earth.

One final thing...President Clark...I know there are some who wish to capture him. I'm honestly unsure how possible this is, he is secured at all times. Reports are that he is a recluse and spends all his time in his office. There's been some question about his mental state, denied of course by state officials, and those journalists brave enough to still ask about this are---dealt with by Nightwatch and the Ministry of Peace. I bring this up, because it is highly unlikely our forces will be able to arrest him, in the show, when he realizes it's over, he commits suicide and his final act is to turn Earth's orbital defenses against it's self. I am not sure how to stop this...nearly all the government opposing Clark are now on Promixa III with the Senate-In-Exile. We would need an insider who was willing to defect to change this outcome. I'm not even certain if sending Rangers would work. Unless there is override access externally, this will happen again. You're able to stop it---but it's a close call, too close for comfort, and I'd like to avoid this completely if possible.

The Narn Regime: One would not consider the Narn to be any kind of threat considering the savagery and pain they have just emerged from thanks to the Narn-Centauri War. However, the Kha'Ri have reformed as their government and begun the long road of rebuilding. Naturally, given what they've been through, they're not in a very diplomatic state of mind currently, and have revenge on their minds. G'Kar has attempted to mitigate some of this with his spiritual teachings, but the memories of those who suffered so much loss and witnessed the destruction of their cities are fueled with rage. They will want to take shots at the Centauri, this should be discouraged as much as possible. I do not know if we can avoid another such conflict between the two powers when there are dangerous external elements at work that are manipulating this in order to further galactic disruption. In order for what we are planning to work, the Drakh must be dealt with first. I suggest we address this immediately after the Earth Civil War is concluded at the earliest time possible. It would go a long way to stabilize the galaxy.

Psi-Corp: The Corps Is Mother. The Corps is Father. Psi-Corp has cultivated too much power. It's influence is greater than anyone of us---including myself---can comprehend. Originally, it was formed to help humans to learn how to control their powers, and oversight of them in general. At some point during it's early history, this began to change, and the organization we know today emerged from the benign ideology of those early days. Instead of peaceful coexistence between humans (mundanes) and telepaths, Psi-Corp changed it's ideology to a more aggressive stance. They weren't just training and teaching telepaths, they were preparing an army for the day when conflict between our two peoples would occur---the Telepath War. We have spoken briefly of this--and our pitch to Alfred Bester---is for the sole purpose of completely avoiding it. It was never depicted on television, and very little information was given about it---except that it was bloody. It is imperative that Bester succeed in his attempt to usurp control of the Corp from it's current leadership so that we may begin the process of searching for a world for the telepaths. Dissolving the Corp is one of the most critical things we may ever do post Civil War.

This concludes my threat assessment report. Will be happy to answer any questions or make addendums if required.

Chapter 69: The Harbingers of Doom New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only.

Delenn as predicted has returned from Minbar, successful in her defense of her relationship with Sheridan. The Grey Council remains broken, as the Minbari Civil War rages. So far the Religious Caste have been holding their own against the Warrior, but that will change soon. The last time of course something like this happened, was before the time of Valen. Cycles. History repeats itself in cycles. It would seem this is a constant in all the multiverse, and not limited to one single reality, and not just with humans. The rest of May unfolds into early June as summer approaches. Susan has done quite well with the Voice of the Resistance, even starting to like anchoring. She's impressed with my writing as well, which of course is a bee in my bonnet. Susan suggests that when this is all over, I write a book, which is an interesting thought I actually haven't had before? Would anyone actually read it?

Zack and Lyta have grown closer than in the series proper. They're constantly hanging out together. I'm not sure if anything will blossom...I gave Zack some advice, to not to try so hard and just be himself. Lyta suspects that I've been nudging them together so her guard has still been up. It's hard for her to get close to anyone, trust issues, naturally. I'm not sure what would have happened had Lianna not entered the picture. Speaking of her...our sessions have increased as preparations continue. Hague is getting antsy, but it's not quite time yet to engage. He wants to make the first move, I don't think it is a good idea yet.

"I understand waiting is not in his purview, but patience will continue to pay off for us. What did the General think of our tentative attack plan?" I ask her

"He was intrigued. He's agreed to act as the advanced group but is concerned that---Babylon 5 won't be able to take on the main group, at least not without using the White Star Fleet."

I shake my head.

"Sheridan wants to keep the White Stars out of the conflict. This is a human problem, and humans will resolve it. The only thing the White Star fleet will be used for is to attack the ADG."

"I read your report. We could engage them now, that you've revealed their location."

"It is absolutely imperative that you do not, Lianna. The element of surprise will be on our side...and I'd like to keep it that way."

"You look tired..." she says

"I AM tired. My sleeping cycle has improved recently thanks to things calming down but---" my link goes off and I tap it.

"Mr. Young, report to the War Room. We may have a situation." Sheridan says

"Aye sir. I'm on my way."

I shake my head to Lianna.

"Duty calls...I Love you."

"I love you too. We should talk when we get a chance in person. I've had some thoughts about our future." she says

"That's a helluva a thing to tease...but okay. When this is all over we'll talk. In person. Take care Major Kemmer."

"Take Care, Mr. Young."

Our sign off. I press a button and Stellar Com ends and I head out of my quarters and up to CIC, it's busy as all hell. Sheridan is standing in front of the main console looking at the view screen.

"Sir, what's going on?"

"As you know, Susan's been off engaging raiders...but upon completion of their mission her squad found something...she found something in hyperspace, we're having it towed back...

Oh hell no! Fuck. Not this. I completely forgot about Thirdspace...

"Sir...no. Shit. Disengage with object and return to the barn!"

"Mr. Young....what is it?"

"Sir...damn it...the artifact is an ancient Vorlon jump gate. It was built millions of years ago, thought to be a gateway to the Gods, but in reality it's a kind of prison to another dimension that posses an ultra violent race that threatened the Vorlons, they called them simply Harbingers. Think of the Jumpgate as the Phantom Zone projector from Superman, and what is on the other side the Phantom Zone. Bringing it to Babylon 5 is a colossal mistake. They're waiting for someone to make a mistake and free them. You barely defeat them in the show this is from....I do not want to engage them, not at all."

He looks at me for a moment. He can see the panic on my face. He's never seen that before...not even when we were facing the Shadows. Not even when I think about Shiv'Kala.

"How do we prevent them from escaping?" he asks

"You detonate a nuke from inside and barely survive."

"How do we destroy it without doing that?" he asks

"Well...it's dormant right now. As long as it continues to be so, we're fine. We could toss into a star or something..."

"Adam..." Sheridan half growls

"I'm partly serious. It was in hyperspace for a reason. It was never meant to be found. We could bomb it at a safe location. We could it tow it and use the White Star Fleet to destroy it, the Vorlon weapons should have an effect on it. It's up to you sir."

Sheridan orders the comm back up to talk to Susan.

"This is Babylon Control to Delta Leader, Susan..."

"Go ahead Babylon Control."

"Disengage current operations."

"Sir?"

"I've just been informed by Mr. Young, what we're towing in is a highly dangerous, and highly advanced prison. We're going to take it out."

"Sir? I don't understand."

"You don't have to Commander. Maintain your squad's position around the artifact. I don't want any sudden interlopers accidently spotting it and making this more complicated than it already is. I'll be rendezvousing at your position shortly."

"Aye sir."

"Babylon Control out."

"All right Mr. Young. I've made a decision. You're welcome to accompany me. You could use some more training time on the White Star."

I groan as I head after Sheridan out of CIC.

"Problem, Mr. Young?" he asks without seeing his face I can see him grinning

"None sir."

"That's what I Thought. Let's go get this done."

A small White Star fleet converges on the Starfuries location...and we see the massive Jumpgate.

"It looks like a ship..." Sheridan states as I stand at the weapon's console waiting for the orders.

"Aye sir. It was meant to be so that it could....I guess...travel? You can see the gate doors there..."

"White Star 2 to Delta Group Leader...Commander, get your team out of here."

"Aye sir. All right everyone you heard the boss, let's go." Ivanova orders

"This is gonna take a whole lot of fire power sir, likely we'll drain our weapons for a while."

"That's fine...as long as we get rid of this thing, they'll have the time to regenerate." Sheridan punches a button on his arm rest

"Sheridan to Attack Group. Lock all weapons on target and prepare to fire on my mark."

I Look at the console.

"All groups report ready sir...I think." I reply

"What are the chances this doesn't work?" he asks me

"I dunno. In the show you're only able to partially put a man sized hole in it's shields...without it's shields up---we should be able to blow it up. The armor is tough but not impenetrable."

"Let's do this then, Mr. Young...you may fire when ready." he orders

I exhale and my hands float along the Minbari console, I fire the Vorlon Discharge Beam (basically our main laser) along with our Neutron Lasers, the rest of the Fleet follows suit. It takes a few minutes but eventually the super structure of the jump gate begins to erode as we've managed to penetrate the armor.

"Come on, pour it on." Sheridan says and I unleash everything we have

"Sir the ship is breaking up...I suggest---"

"Move us to a safe location, Mr. Lennier."

"Aye sir."

The fleet begins to back off as a magnificent explosion happens and then...empty space.

"Mr. Lennier confirm the object is...destroyed." Sherdian orders

"Sensors are picking up debris from the blast sir. No unusual readings or signs of anything that remained intact."

Sheridan turns to me.

"You're damned sure that nothing is going to bite in the ass for this? This is over now?"

"Yes sir. The aliens could only emerge from the jumpgate. There was no other way from them to emerge from the other dimension."

Sheridan nods and orders us back to base. That's one giant pain in the ass taken care of now. Plus it was nice to get off the station, but I'd love just for once, go somewhere other than the White Star...

With the destruction of the Harbinger jumpgate...things have come down again. Garibaldi has returned from Mars with Lise in tow. I am able to meet her in Michael's quarters after Doctor Hobbs has checked her out. We're having dinner. Pasta, and salad, naturally, with garlic bread no less brought back from Mars. I haven't had Garlic bread in ages.

"I can't thank you enough for what you did for me, Mr. Young." Lise says formally

"Please call me Adam, and well...I need to apologize." I reply

"What for?" Lise asks

"Well...in my excitement to pull you out of that situation, I didn't really think about the possible consequences. They could pin things on you Ms. Hampton."

Garibaldi interrupts.

"You got lucky there, Adam. Mars police questioned Lise and checked the house records during the...attack...the security cameras match Lise's story. She went straight to the panic room, which was part of their response if anything ever happened to the compound. We were able to use the security tapes as her alibi. This is another reason why, NEXT time you do something like this, you come to me first."

"Don't be too hard on him Michael. If I'd known about the things William was involved in..." Lise says

"Almost no one was---Lise." It sounds weird using her first name but for whatever reason I feel like we've been friends together. We are developing a natural give and take, that is going to frustrate Michael in the future. These people have become my family now.

"He hid himself away from the galaxy at large as well as anyone. Used his resources to protect and isolate himself. Now that we've disrupted his operations---the galaxy has a chance to truly stand on it's own."

"Was he really involved in steering politics back home?" she asks

"If we take him at his value of what he said in the series....then yes. Men like that love to bluster, but in his case, yes I do believe he was part of a group that used their influence to manage political affairs on Earth. He mentions on the series that after Clark, their group was going to choose the next President and they would be answerable to them."

"Which means other members of this group need to be identified and dealt with." Garibaldi says

I nod. I wonder if JMS used the so-called Bilderberg Group as an inspiration for this shadow organization. Nothing is followed up with them in the series or books, so it may have been they were directly tied to Edgars himself and disbanded after he was taken out? I don't know. We'll have to conduct an investigation.

"How long will you stay on Babylon 5?" I ask

"Until things die down on Mars. I have inherited Edgars Industries, the Board won't be happy about this...if I go back now, they'll have me killed." Lise was always smart

"Michael..."

"I have some ideas on how to deal with the Board. You've done enough already." he says shutting me up

"Yes Chief."

"How is your daughter, Deborah?" I ask and Lise half smiles. It is a sad smile.

"Last I checked, she was still with Franz and his wife. They're okay. I haven't talked to her since the divorce. William offered to get joint custody...but..."

"You didn't want to rock the boat?" I offer and she nods. I put my cutlery down on my plate after finishing the Alfredo.

"Excellent as always Michael. Thank for you dinner, but I need to excuse myself..."

"You're busy?" Garibaldi asks and I laugh

"Yes. Voice of the Resistance business. Ivanova and I are working on a digital version to distribute across the fleet."

"I caught the first few episodes, you guys are doing a great job."

"Thank you Michael."

I get up and shake his hand, and Lise and I hug. They escort me to the door and I say good night. I was lying about the Voice of the Resistance, not about it going digital, but that is what I was excusing myself for. I have an appointment with someone. I head through Babylon 5, occasionally nodding at passersby. Almost everyone knows me now. I occasionally wonder what those thugs that attacked me when I first got here are doing now? I thought about looking for them, to help them, actually....but just never have gotten around to it. I reach my destination and press the door chime. The person I am meeting opens the door and offers for me to come in. I sit down in an arm chair.

"Thank you for agreeing to see me, Lyta."

"You sounded...concerned when you messaged me about it. What's up?"

"It's actually what's not up...my memory." I reply

"Oh. What about it?"

"I've been forgetting things over the last few months...really since I got here, that I shouldn't have. The Harbinger prison is the latest example."

"Shouldn't you have Doctor Hobbs do a mri or something?" Lyta asks

"I did, three days ago. It was negative. Stephen also has done regular check ups on me when I go in. Nothing out of the ordinary has come up in his tests either, but nevertheless I'm still forgetting things that I shouldn't, important things, and it concerns me."

"You want me to scan you?"

"Yes please." I reply

"Oh I don't know about that Adam, last time I touched your brain---"

We both nearly got TOSSED.

"I know...but I need to know if something is wrong or if anything---"

I suddenly feel a gentle push inside of my head. I can FEEL Lyta in there. Digging around. I've given her permission without doing so...and we have a short hand now, so---Adam stop talking she says in my head, and I'm silent while she's in there. She and I then jerk in our seats for a few seconds after she pulls away. I hold my hand up to my head...

"Well?" I press....

"It's like a zoo in there...so many things...that I still don't understand..." she says shaken

"What do you mean, being a reality hopper?"

"I-I think so. I've never seen or experienced anything like what I've seen in your head. It is much more than just being Swiss cheesed. It's like your....splintered across dimensions...."

What?

"Do you think it explains the gaps in memory?" I ask

"Possibly..."

"So there's nothing wrong with me...I'm just forgetting things naturally?"

"It would appear so. How long has it been since you...watched the show?" she asks still recovering, taking a swig of water.

"I dunno. A few years now. It used to be an annual event for me. But the last couple of years before I got here..."

"Have been hectic for you. I saw. That probably explains it then. Your memory gaps are based on nothing more than simply...not having watched the show in a while. It's remarkable what you have remembered though. You are obviously a huge...fan." she finishes and I blush

"That's an understatement. You...need or want anything?" I ask

"Yes. For you to stay out of my personal business." she says

"What?"

"I saw things in your head Adam, your plans within plans, you've nudged Zack and I together..."

"Oh. Lyta..."

"You know I'm not comfortable with...people."

"I know, but Zack is a good man, and you're comfortable with each other. I won't interfere any more..."

"Then don't." she snaps but it's a friendly snap

"I just want to see you happy." I say and she smiles

"That is genuine...you're one of the very few. I appreciate the intention. I Think I need to rest now...is that all you needed?"

"Yes."

I pull out a credit chit.

"I'd like to pay you since I know you've been low on funds." We have talked about having her on personal retainer, but she hasn't been comfortable taking my money

Lyta's eyes light up. It's a sensitive subject for her. She's been taking odd jobs here and there just to keep rent. I've meant to do this a while ago but things have been busy here.

"I would...like that yes." She goes and gets a small hand held device that looks like a payment terminal. I slid my chit into it and press a few buttons and it slides out after it completes the transaction. Her eyes go wide as she sees what I've given her. I put my chit back into pocket. My head is starting to hurt now from the scan.

"Holy...are you sure?" She asks

"I'd give more if I thought you'd---" she reaches around my neck and hugs me and I Return it

"Thank you, this should save my ass for the rest of the year."

"Your are very welcome, and Lyta...I may have a gig for you starting in the new year. It's in the early stages of planning so far, but don't get into anything permanent if you can help it."

"Okay. Thank you again."

We get up from our chairs.

"Thank you. I'll let you rest now, and I think I need to as well."

I see myself out as I reel from the brain scan. So nothing is immediately wrong with me, and I still haven't digested the fact that I am somehow travelling through realities. How many? When did this start, and why can't I retain memory of those other realities? I need a drink.

Chapter 71: Final Preparations New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

We are gathered in the War Room. The summer is nearly over, as August is about to turn over to September. The room is busy as war preparations are being made and discussed. Sheridan has been in here nearly 24/7. General Hague has agreed to act as the advanced attack group. His forces will be going for Orion VII, and IO Station, leaving Mars and Earth for Captain Sheridan's group. So far no one has attempted to lure Sheridan away from the station. He's grown more concerned about his parents despite my assurances that they would be all right. It's been a slight distraction for him. He may disregard my advice and decide to go after them if anything unusual comes up, which would be a most annoying diversion if it happened.

"Commander Ivanova will take a White Star Fleet and engage this so-called Advanced Destroyer Group hiding in Sector 300. Mr. Young...what can you tell us about them?" Sheridan asks taking me out of my dark thoughts...

"They are known simply as the Advanced Destroyer Group---Omega-Class ships. A hybrid of Shadow and human technology...the Shadow tech is of course what separates them from regular Omegas. The commander of the flag ship is Captain J. Thompson. The crews of all six ships are extremist Clark loyalists, specially selected for these ships because of their staunch loyalty to Clark. They posses both the latest Earth Force weaponry, combined with Shadow Beam Weapons, and possess Shadow armor in addition to regular Earth Force shields. A full White Star fleet should destroy the ships, although the battle won't be pleasant."

He turns to Ivanova.

"You'll go on ahead and engage them before we begin the campaign for Earth...I don't need to tell you what will happen if those things are unleashed on the Fleet, even six of them."

"I understand sir. We'll take them out." the two have a moment with each other

"General...I have requested that the League of Non-Aligned Worlds, along with the other races suspend their mutual defense treaties with the Earth Alliance, and they have agreed to do so."

"Good. It would be helpful to have had those White Stars of yours..." Hague says

Sheridan shakes his head.

"No. Humans started this, and humans will finish it. This is no one else's business but our own. The Advanced Destroyers are an exception given their Shadow Tech enhancements...but what we have is what we will finish this with. Have you had a chance to think about---what Mr. Young stated about the orbital defenses?"

The General shakes his head.

"Our only option with Aegis is that we'll have to take them out ourselves. The security system was designed so that the President could lock out the grid in case of an emergency...should it be somehow forcibly taken by an external force. Once the President has enacted his code...no one else has the ability to override it."

"That was foolish..." I say

"Perhaps. But no one anticipated the President being the one causing the emergency. I'm afraid we'll have no choice but to destroy the grid and rebuild it, John. I assume that is what he does in the episode, Mr. Young?"

"Yes sir."

"Any contact from your people on Mars yet?" Hague asks

"No. They were ordered to maintain radio silence, so we won't hear from them until Mars is secured. I am planning on sending them additional aid before we depart Babylon 5."

"Very well...anything to add Mr. Young?"

"Just one thing sir, President Clark in the episode already has Proxima III. It suffers greatly under his rule, what Orion VII is suffering through right now---he may before we're ready to launch, attempt to send a destroyer group to capture the system. I recommend being prepared for any such eventuality."

Hague smiles.

"Major Kemmer gives her regards, Adam, you have done well. When this is over, medals are going to be in order. All right then, gentlemen. To Victory!"

"To victory!" we exclaim as the comm goes blank

Sheridan turns to Garibaldi and myself. Michael unusually silent during the briefing. He looks at Michael.

"G'Kar has returned with Na'Toth. I've asked him and Lyta to go to Mars to join Stephen and Marcus. I want you with them."

"Anything specific?" he asks

"No. I am reminded though that you're supposed to be on Mars during this whole thing after betraying me, you help the Resistance, they could use your expertise in a multitude of areas. As well as your leadership and guidance."

Michael looks at me deadpan.

"I have you to thank for this. All right. I'll do it, on the condition though that I get to blow shit up." and I grin

"Permission granted, and encouraged. I know Lise is your priority right now, but Adam will be here to keep an eye on her."

Michael nods.

"I'd better get going."

John then looks to me.

"I know you're worried about me being betrayed still, and if that happens, it'll get dealt with. I have the upmost confidence that you and the others will arrange a rescue mission."

"You sent them ahead in anticipation of your capture?" I ask

"They know the location if it still happens, with a little more luck...hopefully they cut down on the torture time." he tries to joke to reassure me

"Sir...John..."

"Adam. Whatever happens, is going to happen. No matter how hard you try to change it. If it's meant to---it will happen. We will get through it. You have done more for us than I could have possibly imagine. As I said before I left for Za'Ha'Dum I can't thank you enough for all you've done. You've increased our chances of victory, and hopefully mitigated our losses."

"Thank you sir. I wish I was coming with you."

"Out of the question. You're safe here, I expect you to watch out for Lise, and Delenn."

"I will sir...and John..."

"Yes?"

"I'll see you when you're back."

He nods as he leaves. It is happening early. I can't decide if that's good or bad yet....

Chapter 72: No Surrender, No Retreat New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

Author's Note: I realize the White Star Fleet are used in the episodes proper. I've chosen not to use them in this, not fully at least. We'll see if it works out or not.

September 1st, 2261. As Sheridan says in his Captain's Log...Enough is Enough.

The White Star Fleet arrives as Susan departs for Sector 300. I'm terrified of what is expected to happen and that I won't be able to save her. Marcus is still on Mars as the final campaign there has begun, since I butterflied Proxima III. This means I won't be present to hear Susan's iconic line facing the ADG Captain. Sheridan and Ivanova just finished holding a session of the B5 Advisory Council with the League of Non-Aligned Worlds. For the price of the continued protection of the White Stars, each member had to have pledged a destroyer class ship to the protection of Babylon 5, since there won't be anything left here when everyone is gone. The League agrees having already severed their mutual defense pact with the Earth Alliance. They understand what Sheridan is about to do. Delenn is worried, I have attempted to assure that everything will be fine...but that nagging feeling over what might still happen to John is there. I've done everything I know that I can to prevent it...but you never know. Bester and his loyalists are planning on assaulting Psi-Corp. If this goes well...we'll be able to start Phase Three of the Plan after the conclusion of the war.

General Hague and his advanced group have departed Proxima III, leaving behind a small defense force consisting of their own Omega Destroyers. Once again I am slightly surprised that President Clark didn't send a force to attempt to occupy Proxima, but the intelligence suggests that he's become overly obsessed with Sheridan and has concentrated all of Earth Force that isn't blockading Orion VII to face Sheridan when he arrives. Maybe I'm wrong about them attempting to distract and capture John, maybe Clark just wants to blow him out of the stars instead? Lianna has remained behind on Proxima III to coordinate efforts. She most likely will receive a promotion and possibly will be reassigned when this is over. I wonder what she wants to talk about? I certainly have ideas about what I want to talk about with her.

The EA Agamemnon arrives to Babylon 5 and Captain James relinquishes temporary command of the ship to Captain Sheridan, with James acting as XO. The plan is that after Susan successfully engages and destroys the ADG, she is to rendezvous with Sheridan's attack group at Mars. General Hague's forces as well if successful at taking Orion VII and Io Station are to convene with the main fleet. Then our combined fleet, will engage General Lefcourt's remaining forces at Mars before heading to Earth. Sheridan and Hague planned out this in extreme detail, with notes from myself. I stare at the main galactic map. Delenn puts a hand on my shoulder.

"They will be all right." She says

"I hope so Delenn. There's something that I haven't said...because I'm still hoping like hell it won't happen."

"What is it?"

"During the battle with the Advanced Destroyer Group---Susan's White Star is severely damaged, she's injured badly, Marcus is there, and he rushes to bring her back to Babylon 5 and uses the Alien Healing Device to sacrifice himself to save her."

"In Valen's Name..." Delenn replies

"Exactly. Being here...I feel...stuck, Delenn. But I Know if I was there, it'd be useless, she's pinned through debris...Marcus barely is able to get her out, just his force of will manages it. I'm not as strong as he is. Here though...I'm just waiting for things to happen."

We're interrupted with as a message comes in from General Hague's forces.

"I'm sorry, sir, Ma'am, but General Hague's group have engaged the blockade at Orion VII."

"Tactical map on screen please, and put all groups currently engaged or otherwise on screen, including the White Star group in transit." I order

"Yes sir."

The massive screen dissolves from the galactic map to a tactical overlay of several battles. I can see the White Stars still in hyperspace heading towards their location at Sector 300. John's group still is in transit to Mars, while I see the engagement at Orion VII. The forces that would have been at Proxima III have been relocated to this minor colony world. They have suffered greatly at the hands of Clark. I see Blue icons indicating Earth Force ships. The EAS Pollux, Heracles, and Vesta are all present. There are only a dozen or so ships part of the blockade. The fighting lasts for a few hours as the ship---composed of young officers, and Captain's who have been field promoted during the course of the war---are no match for General Hague's more experienced group. The Alexander herself takes out about half the blockade as Orion VII is liberated.

"Sir, you might want to watch ISN on right now." the tech says

"Put it on split screen."

"Breaking news this hour as rebel forces under the combined command of former Earth Alliance Chief of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff, William Hague, and Babylon 5 commanding officer, Captain John J. Sheridan have launched an attack against Earth Alliance worlds. There are multiple reports of uprisings, and bombings on Mars, President Clark has dispatched a fleet to deal with these upbringings. More as it happens."

"Switch off ISN."

I wish I had a remote. I slump back in my chair again.

"It has most certainly begun. Now all we can do is wait."

Unexpectedly, Londo and G'Kar come in together. G'Kar of course sporting his new eye that Stephen installed before he left. G'Kar is initially cold towards Mollari still...what is this? I sit back up in my chair.

"Gentlemen, this is an unexpected surprise, what can we do for you?" I ask as even Delenn is surprised by the sight of them together. G'Kar responds

"The two of us have agreed upon an unprecedented historical agreement between our two peoples. We have chosen to declare mutual support between the Centauri Republic and Narn Regime for the Earth Resistance. I have already spoken the Ka'Rhi...they were less than enthused by this naturally, but have agreed at least tentatively to support this...initiative."

Londo amused picks up a few of my nuts sitting in a little dish I had brought at the table.

Delenn and I exchange shocked looks.

"You...you've done...what?" I can barely get the words out I'm so shocked, Londo starts laughing.

"To see the look on your face right now...has made this worth it. The Centaurum has also tentatively agreed to this as well. Both of us are ready to send ships if Sheridan needs them."

I sit back down. I need a drink. I'm going to become really emotional pretty soon. I need to calm down. Focus. This is...unbelievable. G'Kar refuses Londo's proposal in the show, he's still embittered and doesn't want anything to do him or the Centauri. Maybe sending him to get Na'Toth...changed all of that.

"I don't know what to say..." I say

"That much is evident." G'Kar replies

"I think what Adam is trying to say, is thank you. But...what...facilitated this...decision?" she asks

"Going to Centauri Prime to retrieve Na'Toth was an enlightening experience---but quite simply put, it is time to put the past behind us, if we are to truly heal, both of our peoples, are going to have to..."

"Have bygones be bygones?" I offer

"Perhaps not to that extent, but yes." Mollari says

"Hopefully this is the start of something new for both the Centauri and Narn."

"I hope so too..."

Will wonders never cease.

"Commander Ivanova's group have reached the Advanced Destroyers sir."

"If you'll two excuse me." I say as I return my attention to the viewer.

"We'd like to stay and watch with you."

"By all means."

I turn to the Tech...Ensign Molls or something like that.

"Ensign...can we patch in comms?"

"Yes sir stand by, there might be some slight lag though."

"Understood."

I should have thought of this sooner. The White Stars and the ADG are nearly about to engage, the Captain of the Destroyer Group has---

"This is Captain J. Thompson of the Advanced Destroyer Group to enemy vessels. We have you surrounded. You are ordered to surrender your vessels."

That is an insanely stupid thing to say when you have only six ships, don't care how advanced you think you are, against like 70 or so White Stars. The next voice I hear is Susan's.

"This is the White Star Fleet. Negative on surrender. We will not stand down." Claudia at her VERY best.

"Who is this?" he asks

Uh-oh. He's about to find out. Prepare to get TOSSED.

"Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova. Commander, Daughter of Sergei and Sophie Ivanova. I am the right hand of vengeance, and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth sweetheart. I am Death Incarnate, and the last living thing you will ever see. God sent me." she says her iconic line

I'm not really God, but thanks Susan. I smirk inwardly. Adam stop.

The White Stars fully engage the Destroyers.

Chapter 73: Pushing Back Against Fate New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

The Battle of Sector 300 commences as I see Susan's formation. She has the White Stars vulnerable on purpose, in order to tease the ADG into attacking first, drawing them inwards. How they thought this was going to be a swift victory for them beyond me. No, that's unfair. They think themselves invisible because they've been conditioned, and because of the Shadow technology. I know they don't have proper intelligence on the White Star Fleet---Earth still doesn't even really know what the White Star Fleet IS, but they know a little of what she's capable of. I decide to to interject myself which surprises Delenn, G'Kar, and Londo. I press a button now given me by one of the Minbari techs.

"This is Babylon Control to White Star 2, do you read, Commander?"

"What the hell are you doing on this line, Mr. Young, we're up to our ears in war!" Susan exclaims angrily

"I have been monitoring all the battles, Susan. You need to break up the White Star Fleet's formation. You're too cramped." I say calmly, like Spock.

"I'm following Captain Sheridan's strategy!" she bellows

"I'm not suggesting you don't. I'm suggesting you spread out the fleet. Susan, please. It could mean your very life." I plea

The resulting debris that catches White Star 2 I believe is because both combatants are fighting too close together and there's no space. Ironically.

"Fine. I'll adjust our formation accordingly, but you're to stay off this line. Understood?" she orders

"Aye sir." I reply begrudgingly...can't promise I won't.

G'Kar with a mischievous grin looks at me.

"That took some balls as you humans like to say, Mr. Young. Inviting the wrath of Commander Ivanova is reserved for only the bravest of souls."

"You're telling me...I can take Susan yelling at me for a few minutes if it saves her life."

An ass reaming for 20 minutes is better than seeing her injured and leading to Marcus's sacrifice. No one dies if I can help it.

"The White Star Fleet is breaking formation sir. Commander Ivanova has ordered groups to split apart and engage various ADG's." a tech points out and I see it on the layout

The screen is now split with a live feed showing the actual battle (like if I was the watching the episode), and the tactical overlay. I see White Star 2's icon as she engages the main flagship. It is a fierce fight that lasts nearly a hour but eventually the monstrous vessel is destroyed. A cheer goes up in the War Room from the peanut gallery. Just then another two ADG's blink out of existence as explosions fill the screen, the blinding light making me shield my vision.

"So far so good..." I Mutter

"I will go aboard a ship and join them just in case we are needed...still." Delenn leaves. John won't be happy about that but if it saves Susan's life...White Star 2 suddenly engages engines and veers towards the remaining ship joining White Star's 4 and 9 who have engaged the final ship. This is it. This is what I've been dreading, pleading, and nearly praying to avoid---

"All weapons, all batteries, fire. Keep pouring it on!" Susan orders as the three vessels converge together on the ship---and then---it happens---a massive explosion!

"White Star 2 back away from the debris...now...Susan! Watch Your Twelve! Watch your fucking twelve for all that is holy!!!"

Tears start to stream down my cheeks, as I expect the worse.

"Babylon Control to White Star 2...please respond, e-even...even if it is to chew my ass off. Susan...." I hold my breath for what seems like an eternity...

"This is Commander Ivanova, Babylon 5 Control. We're all right. Mission Accomplished. We're setting course to the rendezvous point...and Adam...thank you."

She realizes that I just saved her life. I watch on the monitor as the remaining White Stars reform and jump out of the system. I sit back in my chair and put my head down on the table and start to cry...she's okay. She's okay.

After a good five minutes of crying and G'Kar comforting me, I gently push him aside. I wasn't just crying because I saved Susan, I've saved Marcus now as well.

"I'm okay. Just releasing mounted up emotion..."

The truth is that it's been weeks since I had my episode, I'm extremely stressed, and over tired...I need to sleep when this is all over. I'm powering through this.

"I trust that Commander Ivanova....was seriously injured during that battle?" he asks

"Yes. But it's more than that...in order to save Susan---Marcus sacrifices himself by using the Alien Healing Device."

"You have saved both of them." Londo chimes in

"Y-yeah. We should recall Delenn back." G'Kar does so for me, he is after all a member of the War Council still so has authority to command here

"What's the status of the fighting?"

"Orion VII has been liberated with minimal losses. The entirety of our forces are now heading to the rendezvous point."

"General Lefcourt's forces will be waiting for them there. He possess 36 ships. The homebound fleet is still around 80. We outnumber them still. How many White Stars did we end up loosing in that battle with the fucking ADG's?" I rub my eyes

"25 sir. We have 75 White Star's left. The total composition of the fleet currently is around 110 ships."

Almost two to one odds. In the episode the fighting takes weeks, because Sheridan's forces are largely on their own despite out numbering them in there too. We didn't posses General Hague's experienced forces. This could be over in a couple of days. I have Zack check on Lise, he reports back.

"Ms. Hampton is okay, she's a little restless, and still a bit scared...the whole thing has been pretty overwhelming for her still. You want me to increase security on her?"

"No, not unless she requests it. I think for the most part she'll be fine here. Michael and the others will return in a few weeks...then they will figure out the business of handling Edgars' Industries."

Zack chuckles.

"What's on your mind Zack?"

"The Chief. I'm guessing that Ms. Hampton is going to ask Michael to help her run the company---I'm laughing, because it's the least thing in the entire galaxy he'd want to do."

I nod chuckling as well.

"Yeah...but they'll be together. They'll handle the Board of Directors. I suspect that means you'll be promoted."

His face blanches for a second.

"Wait...what?"

"You're his second. You haven't noticed your responsibilities increasing the last year or so? He's been quietly grooming you to take over."

Zack's eyes go all buggy. Jeff Conaway was an exceptional actor. Unfortunate about his demons, but then we all have our demons.

"You think Sheridan will approve it?" he asks

"Of course he will. There's no one else more qualified for the spot. You've done incredibly well Zack. You should be proud."

"If only Lyta saw it that way..." he replies and I put my hand on his shoulder

"Lyta...has been through a lot in her life Zack. Relationships of any kind---platonic or otherwise---are extremely hard for her. Extremely hard for any one sometimes frankly, but...give her time, just be yourself."

"You know something I don't?" he asks

"Just be patient with her, and be content with the friendship you have. The rest will take care of itself."

"Sir, we have breaking news from ISN!"

I press my little remote.

"ISN has just learned that an unknown strike force has begun bombing Psi-Corp Headquarters, here in Geneva. You can hear the---the---bombing from our studios, which of course are---"

The broadcast ceases. I exchange looks with Zack.

"Looks like Bester's people have started their attack." Allan says and I nod

"Sir, you've got an incoming communique from Captain Sheridan."

"Put him on the big screen, Ensign." It is good to see John in his old command chair on the Agamemnon

"You just saw the ISN report?" he asks

"Yes sir. Not sure why the ISN signal cut out but given the proximity of the attack...maybe they hit a transmitter array or something."

"Maybe. I want to thank you for helping Susan out there...that took some balls. You saved her life."

"Yes sir."

"Have you heard anything from dad?" he asks me

"Not yet sir. I'm still monitoring that. My sources have been negative, however as I said---"

"I know...everything works out in the end. I'd just like to know now---"

"General Lefcourt's forces are currently awaiting yours."

"I know...the General is a good man, but---"

"He's wrong in this John. Blind loyalty to a military force being governed by a fascist dictator---isn't loyalty. Solider or not. There comes a point in time where it has to be more than just---following orders."

"I know that too. You're sure of the mistakes he will make?"

"Aye. He should know your command tactics by now, but the ground force diversions on Mars will be exactly that. It will force him to make a decision on what to focus on, you or what's going on Mars. A good commander would have focused on the ground force diversions...." I smirk.

"Don't get cocky Adam. You have the benefit of unique hind sight here...but things can change as you know."

"Yes, Captain."

"Delenn?" he asks

"Ambassador Delenn is currently returning after departing for Sector 300---she's been immediately recalled though after I--"

"Butterflied whatever happened to Susan. Adam---at some point Delenn is going to want to come to Earth---let her."

"Aye sir. IF we are victorious---are we still doing the thing, we've planned?"

Announcing the creation of the Interstellar Alliance.

"Yes..."

"Oh! Captain...G'Kar and---"

"I Know, they just released their joint statement. A remarkable turn of events. Hopefully the start of something new...this makes things a whole lot more easier if we can get the Narn and Centauri on the same page for the first time in centuries."

I nod.

"All right. I have to go. Next time we talk...hopefully it'll be from Earth! We'll send the signal for you to join us."

"Aye sir. I'll be ready."

The Fleet continues onwards to Sol System.
