A Dream Given Form: A Babylon 5 Self Insert

Chapter 91: Sometimes Good Intentions Have Bad Consequences New
Warner Brothers Discovery Owns Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non Profit.

I sit in my quarters watching the "Bat Computer" as security attempts to attempts to hunt down Clemons. I now have five slaved monitors all together arranged in a curve, very much resembling as much as possible a Bat Computer or various interpretations of them over the decades. I could afford to have a Cray installed here---but this will do for now, especially since I'm probably not going to be on Babylon 5 after this year, but that's for another time. The resolution they have is baffling. Babylon 5 requires a massive upgrade, to match what all the new line Earth Force ships have, you'd think we'd have taken care of this, but wars tend to distract from things like equipment upgrades. Nevertheless I am as Big Brother Bats as I can be here in my little nest of activity. I sip my cola in my glass...Lianna will be here in a couple of days. I've been chomping at the bit to see her...I can't wait for Sheridan and Delenn to return as well as Delenn has my---wait a minute. Static replaces one of the monitors. Uh-oh.

"Young to Security Central?"

"Ztttzzzzz..." I tap my link again but get the same response. This is not good. I feel for my PPG which is in it's holster against my right hip where I normally keep it. The only good thing about wearing a suit. On my left side in a easily unflappable pouch is my Denn'Bok. I do my calming exercises as I attempt to---the door chime goes off. I exhale and turn around in my chair to face the door.

"Come."

Stepping into my quarters with that insufferable smirk, and looking like something out of a demented Tik'Tok video back home---is John Clemens.

"You know who I am."

It's a statement, not a question.

"Of course I do, Mr. Clemens. What can I do for you?" I ask

"You can come with me without any fuss. I've cut all comm to your quarters. Have security running around like chickens with their heads cut off."

Normally, I would choose a more lighter tone for this situation, but I can see how demented this guy is. There are a dime a dozen of them in the B5 universe, occasionally one slips through. I stand up fighting every urge in my body to pick up my PPG and blow this guy's head off.

"Okay. I'm not who the one you came here---"

"Shut the fuck up. I know who you are. I have monitoring communications since before I stepped onto this hunk of junk. I know exactly who you are, you freak, and you're going to pay for what you've done to me."

Uh. Okay. I attempt to pull out my PPG but with a swift kick of his leg he kicks it out of my hand and then takes my hand and brings me down to the deck in an arm bar. My training is like kid's karate compared to his. He pushes my face down hard onto the deck so my cheek and mouth are smooshed---i-into--the deck.

"What do you want?" I manage to ask and instead of an answer I get a hard THUD to the back of the head and everything goes black.

I wake up after receiving a thunderous blow to the head that makes me vomit blood, I see stars, possible concussion. My head is pounding. I can feel my legs, feet, and hands all bound in duck tape. I'm surprised he didn't tape my mouth shut either, that means he wants me to talk.

"W-why---"

"You know why! You are responsible for the death of the President! Sheridan may have commanded the dissident fleet, but you were the one responsible for planning the rebellion against us! You...cost...me...everything." he says the latter four words as coldly as I've heard any one speak words in my life and my head snaps to the left hard again as he belts me.

"I c---c---can't argue with that logic."

"What? You mocking me boy? Do you know what I could do to you?"

"I-I am aware, and I---COUGH---am not mocking you. You're right. I'm responsible for the death of Clark. I am NOT responsible for your actions at the prison though, that's all on you!"

This time he uses his boot and KICKS ME HARD and my chair flips over and I land hard on the deck. That's going to leave a mark. Come on Zack.

"Ugh...."

"What...nothing fancy to say? I've seen the vids on you. You like to talk."

"So you're gonna be the one t-that shuts me up?"

"I figure someone should. I've nothing to lose. You keep interfering in things that don't concern you. You're going to cause something to happen that you can't control, and it'll cost people lives."

I start laughing. Blood and mucus spitting out as I do.

"That's rich coming from you Clemens. You have no holy crusade, you're doing this for revenge. You were going to kill Sheridan. Let me tell you s-something...it doesn't matter if I die today, tomorrow, or twenty years from now, what you're trying to prevent will endure. I will tell you though, if you do kill me, you won't get out of here alive."

"Oh I have no intentions of leaving here alive. You or Sheridan, it doesn't really matter now. No one is going to bother us." I have another blow to the head from his boot

I wake up. Head dizzy now. Definitely a concussion. Not sure what grade. This is getting to be as bad as Neroon's beating, but he at least was more gentlemanly about it. I attempt to look around the best I can. I can't turn my neck at all. It's still against the deck. I'm laying on my left side, which is about to go numb. I'm dehydrated, which means we've been doing this for quite some time now, couldn't guess how for how long, maybe a day. I am regretting that glass of cola now. What the jackass doesn't know is that I've been slowly using a piece of glass I found on the deck to cut the duct tape. It's taking forever since it's so small. He's sitting across from me his front to me, and....and peeling an apple with his knife as the skin drops to the deck.

"You're awake."

"W-why am I still alive?"

"Because I like to see you squirm before I kill you."

"Is this...w-what you did to your prisoners, and the dissidents of B-Beta 7?" I ask coughing up blood again

It is nearly time to channel my inner Batman. I can feel my anger start to get the better of me now. This fucker is pissing me off.

"Oh I did far worse to those scum. It's true, I did come here to kill Sheridan, but you were ripe for the picking. Sloppy of your people to out you---you know how many people want you dead now?" he asks

"I can imagine."

Come on...come on. I need a way to goad him over here though too...just as my tape finally has cut.

"I can c-c-cut you a deal."

"What?"

That gets him to pause.

"I said that I can cut you a deal. Let me go and I'll see to you get off scott free."

He laughs.

"Not a chance in hell. I'm not an idiot."

"You know who I am, and what I can do---I can get you out of here."

"What you can do, is shut your mouth."

I gather what strength I have and call on my Ranger training. Everything I Have now...

"Why don't you come and make me." I GROWL in my best Batman voice

That does it. He strides over and that is when with all my might I SWING my left arm at him and KNOCK HIM OUT with a single blow, he thuds onto the deck. I exhale hard as the adrenaline rushes through my body. I then twist myself around so that my back is now finally on the deck, breathing carefully, and use my glass shard to cut part of the leg tape off---it takes more time than I expected. I don't have a lot of time. My gut tells me that he's going to be out for maybe a few hours. That punch wasn't that hard I gave him. I am able to then twist back around and push myself up off the deck and attempt to rip apart the duct tape around my feet but can't do it. I see a work bench over---we're in a room. It has my link, PPG, and Denn'Bok on it. I hop over to the table and pick up my link and double tap it to activate it.

"Young to S--Security."

"Allan here...holy hell Adam, where the hell have you been?"

"He's got me Zack. I don't know where are. My link's active now---use it to find my location. Probably somewhere in Brown. I underestimated him..."

"Are you all right?"

"No...not at all. I have him knocked out right now---b-but it took everything I have to do it. Hurry." I tap the link off and sit down on the bench and lean back. I feel myself...my face is puffy. My wrists bloody from the binding and cutting. I'm exhausted as well. I look at Clemens. I look over to where my PPG---the mother fucker kept it loaded-. Remember my PPG is coded to my DNA only, so it probably frustrated him he couldn't use it at all. --I pick it up and turn the safety off and point it directly at his head. I convince myself that if he moves a single inch before security arrives, I will blow his head off. I tap my link.

"Zack...I don't know if he's rigged the room or not. You might have to use gas to knock us both out, and disable whatever triggers he's set up."

"Acknowledged. We'll figure it out Adam, don't worry."

Sometime later I wake up in Medlab with a start, with Lillian gently reassuring me that everything is okay.

"W-what happened?"

"Mr. Allan and security found you. You'd passed out from exhaustion. Clemens is in the brig under high observation. We're awaiting a ship to deport him back to Earth."

I'm hooked up to an IV and see I've dermals wrapped around me.

"What's the damage doc?"

"Well...you took quite the beating, not as extensive as the one that Neroon delivered, but very close to it. You have a minor concussion, bruising. Most of the lacerations I've managed to heal. Seeing as how your foot surgery is in a couple of weeks---you've just invited yourself to an extended stay in Medlab."

I groan.

"I thought you enjoyed my company?"

"I did...but frankly not the food."

"Well...I think we are well prepped to operate on your foot now, but we'll let you fully heal first. The clone is fully grown. All the tests on it have passed. Stephen will be arriving sometime tomorrow, he's been informed of what happened. So have Sheridan and Delenn, and Captain Lochley. Everyone is concerned about you."

"Yeah...I'm concerned about me too. Lianna?"

"Ms. Kemmer will be arriving at the end of the week. No doubt you'll be hearing from her soon. You need to rest Adam, you were captured for two days."
That is something I figured. At least 48 hours.

"All right Doc. You got me. I'll enjoy sleeping for the next few. Where's Zack?"

"Filing his report on this. He's been here several times checking on you. I've given you something for the pain, if you need anything else, you know what to do."

I just nod and close my eyes. I can't help by see Clemens stupid smirk as I rage inside.

Chapter 92: One Ring To Rule Them All New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

It's been a week now since I was kidnapped and tortured by John Clemens. Thanks to 23rd century technology, I'm well on my way to healing. Everyone who was off Babylon 5 has now come on board, including Lianna, Sheridan, and Delenn who travelled together. Londo and G'Kar also are back. Garibaldi is on Mars still with Lise. Tessa is here as well as she was officially installed as the Head of Covert Intelligence, a far better choice than Michael ever was I think, she's only here for the ceremony, then will be heading back to Mars---she's offered to help with the transition from colony to independent state. Delenn arrives.

"You are healing from your ordeal."

"So they tell me. I'm being prepped for surgery tomorrow as well."

"You will do well. You could be in no better hands, and I include my people's healers in that statement."

Everyone respects Stephen. She reaches into her robe pockets and produces a beautiful ornate box. I smile immediately. I've been waiting for this.

"I have what you requested. I hope it is up to your expectations."

I take it and slowly open it---and I get emotional. The emerald and rubies gleam as they catch part of the room light above me. I take out the ring and examine it.

"The engraving on the inside of the ring is exactly as how you requested as well, in Minbari. It was...difficult to translate. What is it's meaning?"

I laugh.

"That's because it is Black-Elvish and not any real language, although I know some people from back home who might dispute this. It is from a 20th Century series of books, called Lord of the Rings. Ash nazg, thrakatuluk, burzum-ishi krimpatul. One Ring to Rule Them All, One Ring Find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness, BIND THEM." I Read in the voice of Ian McKellan as Gandalf.

"It sounds like a Prophecy."

"Kind of. In the books, the ring was forged by the Dark Elf---Sauron...he created Nine of Rings to trick the peoples of Middle Earth, and one ring---an uber-ring---to bind them all to him."

"You naturally adapted it to reflect the love you and Lianna share." Delenn says with a smile--realizing

"Yes...congratulations by the way. My gift to you and John is still in my quarters."

"We can wait to get it, thank you."

"Thank you for this. You're not going to read the inscription?" she asks

"Not in Minbari...One Ring to Show Our Love, One Ring to Bind Us, One Ring to Seal Our Love, and Forever Entwine Us. Cheesy I know."

"What does Cheese have to do with this?" she asks and I laugh

"Nothing at all. Thank you Delenn. This is gorgeous." I put it back into it's box and put it on the side table. Will have to put it somewhere Lianna can't see it. Delenn takes it.

"I will keep it secret, and safe."

I arch my eyebrows--- why you sly Minbari you....

"When will you be up and about?"

"I don't know. Both Lillian and Stephen have said that this will take a few weeks time to heal, then another few months to rehab from. That is should the clone limb find it's self compatible with my DNA, etc. Everything is looking like it will be."

"I see. I will let you rest now, and John will see you after the surgery, as you're aware he's quite busy."

I nod. I watch her go.

The next month I am prepped for surgery. I've asked to be "put under for the procedure" but that the recording be sent to my quarters afterwards. Don't really want to watch it during the procedure, but afterwards, a good beer and pizza will be fine! Lianna greets me before I am moved into the surgical ward.

"Are you okay?" she asks

"Yeah. I'm always business about surgery now. Have been since the last couple I've had. It's just a better way to think about it, get it done, and then worry about the recovery afterwards." I grasp her hand

"Thank you for being here, not exactly how we planned this, is it?"

"No. We'll talk when you're out of surgery. I Love you." she says

"I know." and we kiss once and I watch her leave, she'll probably stay and watch through the viewing gallery

Prep is finished and Stephen re-explains to me the procedure. He shows an animated graph on the screen.

"First we are going to completely remove your current foot. This part alone will take several hours, even with the advanced cutting tools we have today. Once we clean the wounds, we will then proceed to attach the clone foot. Our modelling has shown that it will accept the clone limb, then we will seal it back up. The entire procedure will probably take about ten hours."

"Sounds great. Let's get it done." I reply and Stephen starts barking orders. I am put under....

Super Short One. The last three chapters basically set up for Season Five!

Chapter 93: A New Foot New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

Authors Note: The Foot surgery arc is something that I carried over from the Star Trek SI. This is what Beverly would have done for SI Adam, had the assimilation into Locutus not occurred and the nanites regenerated the foot.

I wake up slowly, feeling slightly groggy as the brain fog from going under. My eyes flicker and I feel...a different kind of pain than usual. I gasp in shock. I hear a soothing, familiar voice.

"It's okay. I'm here..." It's Lianna.

"Hi." I say

"Hey there...welcome back."

"W--what time is it?" I ask?

Another deeper, but very familiar voice answers.

"It's 04:34 hours. You've been under a good fifteen hours. Stephen says everything went exactly according to plan. Can you feel your foot?" she asks

Wiggle your toes. First thing I am always asked.

Somehow...seeing John Sheridan is always a calming sight. I go to rotate my foot...a motion I've done a billion---trillion times---and...something is different. The two of them see me react to it.

"Adam?" Lianna asks

Tears start to streak down my cheeks. I feel for the first time---ever---muscle. I feel---a---heaviness that I can't fully describe yet. It feels---whole.

"I feel...muscle, and weight! It---it's---"

For the first time in my entire life with my right foot I feel a FULL foot.

"Take your time. Stephen said this would be incredibly emotional for you."

I am adjusting to the weight of it. For my entire life my right foot has been like...weird...light piece of skeletal thing that I've been forced to walk on. To describe it, it is like having your bone structure strike the floor without any kind of proper muscle support. I can't describe it properly, because I don't know how walking on a normal foot feels like for those that have them.

"I can feel...it's difficult to describe. It's like I'm whole again."

I see Dr. Harrison, who is also in charge of Med Lab 5, is the orthopedic surgeon. She's wearing her gray surgical outfit first as she comes over to check on me. Harrison is also played by Carrie Dorbo who portrayed Dureena Nafeel.

"Welcome back, Mr. Young. How are we doing?" she looks over my chart while a nurse looks over my monitoring equipment.

"I...am in pain, but it's not anything like I've ever felt before."

"Can you describe it?"

"Like a continuous---strong throbbing. Not like the usual sharp, stabbing pain after surgery."

"Interesting. We've given you a heavy dose of nerotonin and naproxen for the pain. We'll reduce this once you're able to manage the pain yourself."

"Thanks Doc. Where's Stephen?" I ask

"Dr. Franklin is handling the paperwork from the surgery. He'll be here later today. Do you need anything?"

"Some water or juice would be fine." Harrison turns to the nurse and asks him to bring me some juice

She turns to Lianna and the President.

"Mr. Young needs to rest soon. He'll be able to have more visitors a little later."

Lianna and Sheridan both comfort me as I watch them leave. I look down at my foot. It's wrapped in dermal bandages and I can see a stim pack on it.

It is January 15, 2262. Just over two weeks from Clemens attack on me, and about three days after my surgery. The pain has become manageable. Having the dermal bandages instead of a cast---has been great. I've been given a walker boot already as well and crutches to which I've started my rehab. I can hobble a bit. Walking with the new foot is a little weird...it will take some time to get use to but it seems to have---taken ahold---sort to speak. I've already been moved back to my quarters, Lianna is out getting us lunch when my door chime beeps.

"Come in."

Captain Elizabeth Lochley walks in and I stand back up to greet her.

"Feel free to sit, Mr. Young...I've been briefed on your surgery. My congratulations."

I lean the crutches on the side of the table.

"Thank you, and welcome aboard Captain. Not exactly the way I had planned on greeting you. Has Mr. Corwin shown you around?"

"For the most part yes. I arrived this morning as you probably are aware. The Acheron is one of the first Omega Destroyers cleared of Shadow Tech, thanks to Captain Ivanova and Ms. Alexander's efforts."

"What have you seen yet?"

"C-In-C, Security Central, the Zocalo...that's about it so far. I'm gathering that you've already butterflied a couple of things that were supposed to happen on my first day?"

I grin.

"Yes Captain. I didn't think you'd mind too much."

"Well...I hope for my sake, that you've not rendered B5 a boring assignment for me. " she replies deadpan

"Oh we're going to be in for some interesting times yet Ma'am." I reply

"You don't have to call me Ma'am, or Captain, Mr. Young. Elizabeth is just fine when I'm off duty."

"Which technically isn't now...this is a courtesy visit, of which I appreciate a great deal...Captain. Call me Adam though if we're being informal." I offer her to sit on the arm chair and she does so.

"I'm going to have to get to used to you...accepting the President's offer to command Babylon 5 is big enough---but working along side someone that knows me so well, is a little unnerving."

"Then you'll be happy to know...Elizabeth...that I actually don't know much about you. We're entering the part of the story where---development on characters was...lacking, and it became heavy on plot, and I've altered most of that part---so we're heading into a future that is unknown to me."

"You know enough about me though, you knew about Sheridan and I...you probably know other things as well."

"That I'll keep to myself."

"Thank you."

If Lianna hadn't come into the picture...Rao.

"You'll be happy to know that John Clemens is no longer on the station. He was taken into custody by the Acheron, I am sorry what he did to you."

"It wasn't your fault." I say ignoring the information

"We're not going to talk about the obvious elephant in the room?" she asks...direct and to the point. It took me a while to like Lochley in the show, I didn't at first, because of Susan...but now she's one of my favourite characters, and I'm going to enjoy working with her. I sigh though.

"I understand your reasons for not defecting, I don't agree with them, but I understand them." I say diplomatically

"So that's not going to be a problem between us?" she asks

No. I like Elizabeth even though I disagree with her on that aspect. I want this to work.

"I don't allow personal feelings or disagreements get in the way with working with someone." I reply

"That's good to hear. Then we'll have no problems."

"I don't think so."

"Then I shall leave you to rest. I look forward to working with you, I gather we have a great deal to discuss."

"We do...and I look forward to it as well. Welcome aboard." we shake hands and I watch her leave

My brain is filled with plans within plans.

Chapter 94: Put A Ring On It New
Warner Brothers Discovery Owns Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

Lianna and I are dining together at Fresh Air---Babylon 5's only five star restaurant. I've never been here before. Easily one of the most unique places on the station, as it is catered for all the species on it. I'm wearing a casual suit while Lianna looks stunning in a green dress that shows off her shoulders. We were seated personally by the owner---one Emmerson Briggs-Wallace, who is also the Xenochef. To be a five star Xenochef means you're in extremely rare company across the galaxy. Not only do you know how to cook for multiple species, but you know how to do so INCREDIBLY well. He fusses over us and I look slightly annoyed. Maybe this wasn't such a great place for not drawing attention to one's self, but he was thankfully called back to the kitchen and we were left alone in our private suite.

"What do you think?" I ask after pouring a glass of red wine

"It's lovely. First time for you too?" she asks

"Oh yes. This place costs an arm and a leg, most of the Zocalo actually I had to avoid due to it being too expensive for me. It was until really last year that I was able to explore it a little more to my liking."

"After you cashed out your first stock?"

"Yep. Cheers." we clink classes

"So what's the occasion? " she asks and I knew drawing this out wasn't going to work with her---she's too smart---and this might've been too obvious.

"Well...fine. I'll get right to it. I proposed on a whim, caught up in the spur of the moment after not seeing you for nearly a year...whatever it was. I have since taken the time to get you something I think you'll like---".

I get out of my chair and pull out the ornate velvet box from my pocket and get on one knee...which is kind of hard to do considering I'm still recovering from major clone limb surgery...Lianna's expression right now is worth it. I produce the ring from the box and ask her the question.

"Lianna Kemmer would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"

"Yes." she says for a second time and I finally stand up after she does and place the ring on her finger. The entire place applauds as we embrace and kiss. We then sit back down and acknowledge the crowd.

"It's absolutely gorgeous. I don't recognize the gems."

"That is because they are Minbari gems, the centre stone is a Minbari emerald called isil'zha...and it means the future. It is the same stone that is forged for all the Anla'Shok emblems the Rangers wear on their cloaks. The two rubies are meant to represent us. One for you, and one for me. The inscription in the inside..."

She takes it off to read..."

"Is in Minbari." she says dryly"

"Translates to One Ring To Show Our Love, One Ring to Bind Us, One Ring to Seal Our Love, and Forever Entwine Us." Lianna smiles

"From the Ring hymm. From Lord of the Rings...my favourite book."

"I thought you'd like it---also if you shimmer it in the light JUST so..." she does so

"It translates into English...how?"

I shake my head.

"I don't know. Some kind of Minbari technology that has to do with refracting light. I discovered that part after examining the ring once Delenn gave it back to me."

"It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you." we kiss again.

"So I had a thought..."

"You usually have several."

"Of where we might live...not right away since I know you've accepted Hague's offer to be his Chief of Staff, but after his term concludes, if he chooses not to run again...where are you thinking we might settle down?" I ask

Lianna's eyes light up even more. She's been waiting to have this talk with me.

"I actually don't know...obviously I'll be mostly on Geneva, while you're here and about---so if you've a pitch for me, I'm all ears."

Our first course arrive. Salads for both. Caesar Salad for me.

"I want to build us a home somewhere on Minbar. I know that would be kind of a drastic change for you---but---"

"No...I kind of like that idea. Go on."

"At first I was thinking in Tuzanor itself, but the city is growing exponentially--projected to eclipse even Yedor-- thanks to the influx of humans going there now, and seeing as how it will house the headquarters of the Alliance starting next year---it will be too busy, so I was thinking of purchasing a lot of land in Drogani, which is near the southern polar regions. It's out of the way. Tons of land. Smaller city---farm land, that kind of thing. Not quite off the grid, but we'd be in peace and able to raise a family if we wanted to. Everywhere on Minbar is easily connected by their monorail system, so we'd not be too cut off."

"I like it. I would have thought you would want to go to Mars after accepting Uncle Mike's offer?"

"I considered Mars...but the idea of being couped up in a dome doesn't really sit well for me after---it's gonna be almost four years on the station. I'd like to be out in the open if possible."

"I understand. You going to hire a designer?"

"I've asked Delenn to recommend me a few candidates yes, just in case you agreed."

"I can't wait to see this place when it's designed, and then finished."

"Me too."

"What's on your mind?" I ask

"Your war proposal actually."

"Oh."

"The President is going to put it before the Senate next week. There will be a vote on it. If it passes...you'll have the full support of the Earth Alliance...but Adam...we're not really in any condition to fight right now."

"I know. This will not be a conventional war---not even anything we may recognize as a war, a lot of cloak and dagger stuff. The Rangers have been discreetly monitoring Za'ha'Dum and have detected little activity there."

"That doesn't give us much."

"No. I know both President's Hague, and Sheridan are waiting for a clear cut plan from me, and once I come up with one that isn't just---kill Shiv'Kala, they'll have it. Our first order of business is to attempt to discovery where they are mainly operating from. My gut is still screaming at me---they're on Centauri Prime. I fear for Londo and our allies, but my heart is telling me their main fleet is still at Za'Ha'Dum."

"What I get out of that is that you want to flush them out of Za'Ha'Dum and hope that we catch the bulk of their forces while they attempt to flee, assuming of course they are still at Za'Ha'Dum."

"That's part of it. I just don't know."

"Do you think Shiv'Kala is aware of you?"

"Almost a certainty he is now, but we'll know for sure later in the year."

"How?"

I haven't told her about my plan to use Londo as bait. I'm still struggling with it.

"Let's just say I am going to allow them to do something, I really do not want them to do, and leave it at that for now."

"Okay. Have you heard anything about your friend, Lennier?"

"No, and I don't expect to. Right now he's in the solitary phase of Ranger training. No outside contact. Once he is elevated to assignment status, he will be able to make calls, if he so wishes."

"I see. Lochley seems nice..."

That's a weird segue.

"Yes. Are you familiar with her?"

"Only by reputation. I am surprised that you didn't arrange to get her to defect."

"I knew she wouldn't. As much as I disagree with folks like Lefcourt and Lochley's stance. It's not really something I want to debate. I know that I can trust Lochley. I know somewhat who she develops into later on."

"I see..."

"Why do you bring her up?" I ask curious

"No particular reason."

Lianna almost never has "no particular reason" for bringing up subjects. Hmmm. We continue on with our meal and enjoy each other's company. It is almost time to get back to work.

Chapter 95: War Plans New
Warner Brothers Discovery. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

March 3, 2262. Mars has officially been made an independent state. The Provisional Government officially dissolves itself and proclaims a new Mars Senate, with it's first General Elections to be held later in September. A special referendum will be held in late April to vote on a new name as well. The Earth Senate has also--in a very narrow majority, and in a monumental decision, passed the so-called Telepath World Act, making my plan official. Bester has chosen his crew and IPX has prepared a small fleet for them. They won't just be going world to world, they'll be going across the known galaxy looking for something, Bester has been named Project Director of course. Psi-Corp is slowly being dismantled. It hasn't been decided yet what to do with Telepaths in general, since it is generally thought the majority of them will want to go to whatever world is found for them. It is likely that the replacement organization from "Crusade" doesn't happen at all.

Two weeks ago---the Earth Senate passed the vote to support the upcoming Drakh War. President Hague has promised what Earth Force ships are left, it is likely though we won't need them until much later. I am sitting in the War Room. It is strange to see Captain Lochley in this room. I always expected Susan to still be here, I guess I'm a little shocked with her decision to leave. I still am agonizing over the decision I've made with Londo, also I need to be careful with including him with any pre-war plans. Anything he is told, will eventually be absorbed by the Keeper, but he also has a right to be here as a member of the ISA Advisory Board. Tessa is present on comm as Head of Covert Intelligence. Sheridan, Delenn, Dr. Franklin, Zack, Corwin as the new Exec, G'Kar are all present. Sindell is on comm from Tuzanor representing the Anla'shok.

"Thank you all for coming. All of you know why I've asked you here. For the last several months--perhaps going back to when the Shadows left with the Vorlons, there has been a silent dark power gathering to fill their absence. They are called the Drakh, and they have a single purpose, revenge. Revenge against those races who they feel are responsible for getting rid of their masters. Humans. Minbari, and the Centauri."

"Why is Mollari not here?" G'Kar asks

I look at Sheridan and Delenn, they can see the conflict and pain this decision has caused me. They nod.

"G'Kar, what I'm about to tell you can never get back to Londo, for any reason. Any chance at victory we have---depends on it."

"Yes, of course...but I don't understand." I get up and start pacing.

"The fact of the matter is that I don't know how to beat the Drakh. They do not fight conventional wars. They were maybe were created by the Shadows, but they do not think or fight like them. They prefer...cloak and dagger stuff." I say as I pass Tessa's chair.

"In order to accomplish this, they themselves---produce creatures called Keepers, which they use to control hosts." I let that linger so everyone can get it. G'Kar does

"You're going to use Londo as bait..." G'Kar says astonished---diabolical I know. Believe me...I'm struggling at the coldness of the plan. I sigh.

"I'm sorry G'Kar. It is the only way that I know a hundred percent that we will have any kind of connection to Shiv'Kala, the Drakh's operational commander. I have struggled for years to come up with another plan. Any other plan, but have come up with nothing. I do not intend to allow anything to happen to Londo...but this is the only way we can for sure at least know where Shiv'Kala is."

"He will be operating from Centauri Prime?" Tessa asks

"Yes. Things changed when we pitched---when I pitched---Bester the plan to find a new homeworld. In the show---after Sheridan dies on Zha'Ha'Dum, he demands---begs Susan, Delenn, and Lyta to take him there, to search for possible Shadow Tech to rescue Carolyn Sanderson---but they only end up triggering the planet's self destruct sequence instead and the Drakh flee. Needing a new world to operate from---they go somewhere where their masters were welcomed---a place where they could hide in plain sight and plot their revenge..."

"Centauri Prime." G'Kar answers

"Centauri Prime...where the Shadows planted themselves on the Island of Selini, of which later on was blown up by one Londo Mollari in hopes of purging all Shadow influence from his world in a desperate attempt to save it."

"Not knowing that he set a chain of events that would be potentially worse and cost him his very soul." Delenn says looking at Sheridan who has a look of realization on his face.

"Then what I saw in that future...that was Londo being controlled?" Sheridan asks in shock

"If that's what you indeed saw. Londo as Emperor of the Centauri Republic---the capital in flames, most of the planet scorched?"

"Yes." he said still shook

"Then in that future...my plan fails. Time is a tricky thing. It could mean a great many things, I'd rather not reflect on those."

"He mentioned...David...Delenn and I's son. Delenn...when I was with Delenn in the cell...she mentioned David was safe."

I look at Delenn's reaction, so John told her about his experience. But not me...interesting.

"I promise you both that any child you have---will be protected. I vow to you both."

They both nod and grasp hold of each other.

"So yes....Londo is made an unwilling pawn of the Drakh, for a very long time before anyone finds out. It is Vir and Michael who eventually rescue him, in a combined raid. None of you knew, so there is no need to feel guilty. We kill Shiv'Kala all of this ends. That is why we need to find out as much about where he is as possible, and Londo is key to doing that. It is possible---however not likely that Shiv'Kala will choose someone else, now that they could be aware of me, but it really doesn't matter. Shiv'Kala is the head of the snake---take it out and they're completely ineffective."

"Won't there be another to take it's place?" Lochley asks

"That's an excellent question Captain. I can't give you an answer, because I don't know. I'll be perfectly honest with all of you now. This doesn't leave this room. We are for the first time since I Arrived are entering into a blind spot for me. Due to the changes I've made, and where we are in the timeline---I don't know as much as I have in the last couple of years. We're entering into largely uncharted waters. Which means---Tessa." I stop behind Halloran

"I'm going to be relying a whole lot on Covert Intelligence in conjunction with the Anla'Shok over the next few weeks and months to gather all we can about the Drakh." she and Sindell both nod. I then stand in front of Sheridan and Delenn.

"Mr. President, as you know I've never asked for anything from any of you since I've been here. I'm about to now. I am requesting permission to finally leave the station."

Everyone gets startled at that and starts talking. I shake my head.

"It's not open for debate. In order for us to achieve victory, and peace...to do the work of the Alliance, I need to be able to roam. I know I was just attacked a few weeks ago---I know I'm still pretty green despite of the training I've received. I will be careful. I won't always---be alone either. But I need the freedom to leave."

Sheridan sighs.

"It's time to fly the coop huh?" Sheridan asks and I nod

"All right. I'm not the commander of Babylon 5 any more, you're a big boy. You're wearing big boy pants right now....but be careful Adam. If we lose you---"

"You'll still find a way to win. I'm just as expendable as anyone else"

"No you are not." Delenn says and I smile and nod at her

"Excuse me..." Lochley says and I turn to face Elizabeth

"Yes, Captain?" I say

"President Sheridan may no longer be commander of Babylon 5, but I am, and I've read up on your original security pact. It is technically under the purview of the commanding officer of Babylon 5 to release you from any security obligations we may have towards you. You leave---on your own accord---those become invalid effectively the moment you step off the station."

"Elizabeth---" Sheridan states but I hold up my hand and smile facing Lochley now

"It's all right Mr. President. Captain Lochley I hereby discharge you and Babylon 5 from further commitments to my personal security should I choose to depart the station of my own accord."

"Now that is taken care of---" Lochley begins tossing Sheridan an annoyed look

"You of course have my full support, along with any of the stations resources I can allocate to you---and if anything should happen to you--we will do our best to help."

I nod in return. Lochley sits back down. I nearly chuckle at the look on John's face. He thought that was going to be more--aggressive, but Elizabeth and I are on great terms. That was just official business.

"What about Draal? The Great Machine? Could we not ask him to find Shiv'Kala?" Delenn asks and I immediately shake my head

"Absolutely not. I had that idea as well early on and immediately dismissed it. The Drakh are partial telepaths. If they were to learn about Epsilon III---"

"It would be a disaster of epic proportions." She says and I nod

"When the time is right...and if you all agree, I think we should attempt to flush out the Drakh from Za'Ha'Dum. To do that though, we still need to actually confirm they ARE on Za'Ha'Dum, and we're not ready to do that yet. I'd like to use the Victory Class Destroyers when then they are ready."

"The Victory is nearly completed, she should be ready for test runs later this year. Doing all of this early---was a wise suggestion." Sheridan says and I nod. The Excalibur won't be ready until at least the end of next year still.

"So G'Kar, do you understand now why Londo can't be told any of this?"

"Yes."

"I know it will be hard for all of us, he will pester us, and be annoyed that we're excluding him---but there's no other choice."

With that we close the session and everyone goes their separate ways for the rest of the day.

Chapter 96: Raiders New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

April 4, 2262. The Interstellar Alliance announces it's first full offensive objective, an all out purging of all known Raider Groups.

"For decades, ever since the end of the Earth-Minbari War, these factions have feasted on the unfortunate and unprotected. At times the Earth Alliance, and her allies, have dealt with them, but eventually they regroup, and relaunch their attacks against these innocent worlds. In the past---they've been aided by all kinds of external forces. That also stops. It is my honor and privilege to announce, with the unanimous approval of the ISA Council, and full support of the ISA Advisory Board, that the Interstellar Alliance has chosen to step up and launch a historic counter attack to these groups. This is my message to all Raider factions operating within Alliance space, you are now on notice. We will be gathering the greatest force the galaxy has ever seen against these vicious, savage, criminals, and they will be dealt with once and for all. We will target their bases. We will cut off their funding, and we will most importantly, terminate their ability to continue to operate against our allies. Raider forces---consider yourself warned. No where will be safe for you. You will be routed out and dealt with. Together we will end this threat to freedom and prosperity once and for all, thank you." Sheridan ends his announcement written by me!

It was my idea. For decades the Raiders have prospered in war time. Aided by enemy forces attempting to hire them to bolster their own armies as space mercs, or just to incite incidents so they may be clean of any direct trace back to them. The Drakh attempt to use them as a deception to distract the Alliance. The Shadows did this as well thanks to Mr. Morden's contacts within the various factions. I stand in the War Room to brief everyone. Captain Ivanova is sitting in her command chair on the EAS Titans, with Marcus at her side---acting as her First Officer as well now, something she insisted. As an Alliance member---all force ships will have the ability to name non military members as their Exec as the desire of their commanding officers. General Lefcourt is also on the viewscreen, as are multiple Captain's. The map of the galaxy is light up on the opposite side of the room as well as a tactical map showing key locations of where the Raiders like to operate. Tessa has gone back to Mars now and is also watching on comms.

"My idea is simple ladies and gentlemen. We use the sheer resources of the Insterstellar Alliance to conduct the greatest, and largest cooperative operations against these...leeches the galaxy has ever seen. For intelligence---Covert Intelligence, combined with the Anla'Shok. We dig DEEP. Shake these rats out of their holes, and expose them. The dark places, the backward planets. They like to retreat to Grid 471 By 18 when the heat is on them. We CUT off that resource from them. White Stars and Destroyers blockade that sector. We begin diplomatic relations with League worlds that we may have neglected in the past, or not paid too much attention to. Get their help on board so we can use their past experience against the Raiders. There's a reason why they keep coming back to attack these people. We cut that off. We disrupt the black market enough that we cut THAT off from them. An all out, encompassing, operation on all fronts to completely SMOTHER them to the point where eventually---they will have no choice but to directly confront us militarily, and then---" I look at Lochley...

"We wipe them out if it comes to that. Arrest who we can. For the first time...politics, economics, and military concepts working together in order to eliminate an enemy from doing larger, more harmful damage. We end this, once and for all."

Garibaldi who has been also listening from Mars pipes in.

"This is all well and good Adam, but what if they just do what they always do, wait and rebuild? This will have been a colossal waste of time and resources."

Ever the pessimist is my friend, even more than I am. Lochley surprises me by answering for me. Elizabeth was the first one to support this plan.

"That is why---Mr. Garibaldi we make sure that this time---IS the last time. We hit them with everything we have. A complete and utter decimation of their entire operation."

General Lefcourt looks at Sheridan.

"You sure we are capable of what Mr. Young has proposed? This isn't the first time someone has suggested something like this. What's different this time, Mr. President."

Sheridan smiles as he looks at me.

"Two things are different this time, General. Number One...there has never been an interstellar force working at a high cooperative level, with a singular objective before now. With the addition of the former League Worlds, we now have the capability to have all those worlds---work WITH us directly, as part of the Alliance mandate, and secondly---we have as always our ace in the hole, Mr. Young still knows a few things the Raiders don't know. Like the aforementioned Grid. This will work General."

"All right, President Hague supports this initiate. Whatever you need, is yours Mr. Young" Lefcourt says

"Thank you sir. I appreciate that. Captain Ivanova, what is the status of the Omegas?"

"Almost all back online now Adam. We have a couple remaining ships left to purge, then Lyta will be making her way back to B5. They should be ready once this commences."

"Good work to all of you." she nods both Lefcorurt and Ivanova vanish as their screens go blank

"This is just the beginning of how to deal with the enemy. We cut off whatever allies they may attempt to court---we isolate them as much as possible." I say to the others here

"What can we expect as a response to this from them?" Delenn asks

"For now...nothing. As I said---they do not wage war conventionally as we do. They will for as long as possible continue to work in the shadows. We'll leave Za'Ha'Dum alone at first, what the others don't know---is that this is just the opening salvo of the Drakh War. They will attempt to sow distrust amongst our allies in the League. We need to be on top of this and help them deal with their issues, even if we don't think they're important enough, or petty---we must deal with them. The Drakh thrive when they think the bigger powers are ignoring the smaller ones. We help them---that cuts off another arm the Drakh don't have."

"You're planning on isolating them?" Tessa asks realizing the boldness of my plan

"Without them knowing it. Tessa...you are going to have the most difficult job out of all us. You're going to have to look out for people--maybe even in Covert Intelligence that you've picked---that have Keepers. I have said that all Keepers can not be killed, unless their creators are---but there are more Drakh active than just Shiv'Kala. That'll be your job to figure that out. You'll have to coordinate with all the member worlds own intelligence communities on this. I'm talking with Stephen about creating a possible device that will help in detecting a Keeper on a host."

"You are? How...I thought getting smashed was the only known way?" she asks dryly

"Exactly. That's all I will say for now on the subject. Good luck." she nods and her screen ends

I turn to Michael next on comm.

"Old Friend, I will need you to scour your old black market contacts and scurry them out. As much as you can."

"I can do that. The Board has made a request to meet you in person Adam...and soon. They're extremely annoyed that Lise and I appointed you." He grins

I glance over to Lochley and Sheridan and look back at Michael.

"How's next week sound? I get my walker boot off. I have some down time coming up. I can make the trip over to Mars. Always wanted to see the place."

"I'm sure it'll disappoint you like it does everyone else when they first come here. You hear the news? The Name Dune is on the final three names for the planet. So is Ares."

"I saw that the other day. I look forward to seeing you and Lise again."

"Garibaldi out." his screen goes blank

I turn to Lochley

"We'll need whatever fighters Babylon 5 has at some point...although I think they can best be served as B5's defense. There is a chance there will be a couple of groups who attempt to attack the station. As we discussed---they may retaliate against us, we need to be prepared to handle that if it happens."

"We will be." she says and excuses herself as I watch her leave....absolutely magnificent. Adam stop.

"Well...that went extremely well. Your first big op. How do you feel?" Sheridan asks

"I am admittedly giddy about it. The adrenaline rush alone is incredible."

He nods his head understanding

"It's what will fuel you through this. If this works, it'll be a blow to the Drakh, and they will know for sure that we are coming for them."

"Yeah. It'll be interesting to see how they DO react..."

I return my gaze back to the map as Sheridan and Delenn leave me be.

Chapter 97: The Red Planet New
Warner Brothers Discovery Owns Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

I am on Mars. The Red Planet. Ares. Partially terraformed over the last two hundred or so years since the original colonists along with IPX drilling crews began reshaping the land scape to make it...suitable for human life. I say partially because at some point funding stopped and so did any kind of further land mass development on the planet. This Mars actually reminds me of "Total Recall" than anything. It is dirty, gritty, and dismal. Michael wasn't kidding when he joked that he hoped it didn't disappoint me. This is after decades of neglect, violence, and destruction. Repairs are underway from the bombings during the Battle of Mars. We purposefully only hit military bases to distract from what we were attempting to do with the main fleet, and also to give the Resistance an opportunity to fully seize control of Mars Dome One---which is where I am now.

The Translink tube stops at the main Mars station and I get off and present my ID card to the security at customs. They do a double take as they recognize me.

"Mr. Young. Sir...Mr. Garibaldi is waiting for you at Edgars. There's a car waiting to take you."

I nod as he gives me back my card and waves over another security guard and gives her instructions to take me directly to the Edgar's building. I have heard that most planetary security was provided by private Edgar's people. Now I'm sure most of them are former resistance now, hand picked by Tess and Michael to attempt to enforce what little law they have currently. Still signs of celebration around the place as banners, and ribbons are scattered across various streets. Walking has become somewhat normal again, I'm still astonished that I can feel muscle and bone in my foot. There's little pain, still just recovery pain. Stephen said that would last for another few weeks before it goes away for good. The security escort takes us to another building that I immediately recognize as Edgar's Industries because it has the huge logo slapped on it. It is strange being here physically, can't describe it properly.

"People in the building have been informed of your arrival sir, there'll be someone waiting for you in the lobby."

"Thank you." i reply as the car pulls up right to the entrance and I get out and head into the main doors. I pass through them and am greeted by someone from Edgars who offers to take me to the main floor, and I accept. It is weird being inside here---again I can't put it to words. I am escorted to the main office floor and shown in where I see Michael Garibaldi with a stogie sitting in an oversized leather chair, looking happier than I can ever remember seeing him.

"Adam! You made it. Thank you Travis." he acknowledges the escort who nods. Michael gets up and we exchange a hug as I put my bag down. I'm feeling jet lag now. I sit in the other big oversized leather chair.

"I have indeed made it...Michael...I'm exhausted...this had better be good." I say

"Oh, it will be. You'll like the new board members. You were of course right about the old ones. Had myself a time blackmailing them....and you weren't kidding about Tessa having dirt, she was the perfect choice to head Covert Intelligence."

"Why does the Board want to see me?" I ask

"They're mostly curious. They also want to know why we appointed you in the first place, someone who has no prior business experience, or degree--they also probably want to know if they can manipulate you at all." Michael is positively gleeful

"I see."

"So how are things?! How's the foot?" he looks down and I Can't help but smile

"For the first time in my entire life, I'm not in constant pain. At first in the immediate aftermath of the surgery and recovery, sure....tons of it...but it's subsided now that I've actually learned how to use it. It's also been incredibly emotional." I reply

"I can imagine...Lianna?"

"Is busy in her new job...but doing great. We've discussed somethings. Nothing major---Michael I need a favor."

"Shoot...just not in the back." Michael jokes and my eyes go wide---he really is happy. I couldn't be more happy for him.

"Lianna inquired about Elizabeth Lochley the other day, in a most unusual way---out of the blue---which for her is extremely rare, as she's blunt with everything she says."

"What are you concerned about?" he asks

"Nothing really, I'm just curious what they're connection is. If any."

"You could just ask your fiancée you know." He says and I sigh

"I know...okay. Sure. I don't know what I was thinking. So are the Board---here?"

"They are. We can recall them and introduce you in a few minutes if you'd like."

"I would." I nod

Michael presses a button on his desk.

"Madeline, can you gather the Board members please, tell them if any complain, that Mr. Young is here."

"Yes sir."

Together we head out of the office and down the hallway to the end where a huge room is. It is the room from the episode where Michael deals with the Board of Directors. I stand beside Garibaldi while the members of the Board shuffle into the room, one by one. They're all the replacement members Michael selected from "Objects At Rest".

"Ladies and Gentlemen, as you requested, straight from Babylon 5, and with a short fuse due to exhaustion and jet lag---our newest appointee to your illustrious group, I present Adam Christopher Young." I nod

"Greetings. It has come to my attention that you requested this meeting, I'm flattered. First of all I will allay any concerns you may have. I have no designs on anyone's job, or to step on toes. I agreed to this as a favor to Mr. Garibaldi. Depending on the vote---I will vote with whatever the Board's consensus is on any given matter. I share Michael and Lise's new vision for this company, and I am not here to babysit anyone. I expect you to all do your jobs, whatever those maybe entail , and I promise you---if you've concerns about lack of experience, which I'm sure most of us have anyways given how we were all hired---I will do the work to familiarize myself what needs to be done. I am not a threat, I am ally. Harm me or mine, and I WILL become a threat to you. You don't want that. Trust me."

"So with that out of the way...does Mr. Young's appointment to the Board, agree with all of you?" They all reply positively

"You're all dismissed. Thank you for coming." they all nod at me as they shuffle past

"Was that really necessary? I could have done this from Babylon 5."

"From the Bat Cave? Uh-uh. They needed to see you assert your authority from the beginning, and more importantly, clarify what your relationship with them will be. You did both. So---dinner? You must be starving. Lise is cooking a roast."

"I'd actually love that...and then sleep."

"Of course. The guest room's been made up."

"It's good to see you Michael. I mean that."

"It's good to see you too, Adam."

Chapter 98: The Red Planet Conclusion New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only.

Authors' Note: SUPER SHORT chapter. Plot heavy stuff coming up next.

Mars. The Red Planet. I still can't believe that I'm here. The Edgars Building naturally possesses the finest of everything---especially after Garibaldi has begun to upgrade it. I was warned not to go out exploring on the streets yet. Mars is still infested with crime, so much so that the reason for the extra security IS to protect the population. I can only imagine what it was like while the fighting was going on. This is something that the various governments, local and federal will have to deal with once they settle everything from being declared independent. This means my plan to explore is tossed out the window. I'm trapped at Edgars. The humor of it is not lost on me, trapped on B5, first time I go out anywhere---it's too dangerous. Trapped on Mars.

Lise is a charming woman. Has formed a quiet strength due to all of her experiences. I can see why Michael loves her so much. She's also incredibly funny, but Michael is the better cook out of the two of them, but not by a long shot. Her daughter---not Mary---she is yet to arrive--but her daughter with Franz---Francesca...is also staying with them now and is a delightful little girl. We watch Bugs Bunny and play Minecraft on Michael's supercomputer. Which reminds me, now that I'm a Edgars Board Member. I can afford to have a Cray sent to Babylon 5. Really create the Bat Cave now. I also can afford and have for some time now---upgraded quarters. I've been overpaying rent to compensate for having my quarters basically be free for the first year or so. I may have to consider this and annoy Elizabeth.

The Mars Senate is busy finalizing the legal part of being Independent. There will be elections held to elect the first President of Mars later in the year. The three names finalized for the planet are Dune, Ares, and Krakoa---the latter a nod to the X-Men comics of my time. I am hearing they are also considering calling themselves the Mars Confederation---but that will be decided much later, there's no rush for any of this to happen. We're off season for baseball right now, which is a shame, because I'd love to have gone to Mars Stadium over in New Vegas for a baseball game. It's Feb still so catchers and pitchers don't report for another couple of weeks yet.

Eventually though I am getting restless not being able to do anything here. I already came to do what I was requested for, it's so surreal that I am now a Board member of the biggest corporation in the galaxy---which is only going to get bigger under Michael's vision and my ideas! After I accepted their offer back in December, I sold the shares I had in the other corporations and made a pretty penny again. Having gone most of my life without having much money, and now having a CONSIDERABLE amount of it---enough to buy my own personal fleet if I so desired I'm told by my accountant---it's incredibly strange. I wish this happened back home! I head to Michael's office and tell him I'm leaving.

"This has been fun, but I'm bored, frustrated that I can't go anywhere, so I'm going back to B5."

"I'm surprised you didn't tell me this sooner. I understand. Thank you for coming. Lise packed you up some of her bread pudding you love so much, she and Francesca will be upset you're leaving."

"I'll be around I'm sure. Just so much to do and so much to see potentially, oh and that favor I asked about? Don't bother. I'll just ask Elizabeth or Lianna themselves."

"Good. Snooping around your significant other's personal business isn't a good idea. Trust me. I know."

Garibaldi comes around from behind his desk and gives me a great bear hug.

"You be careful you here? As Marcus would say---"

"Mind my surroundings!" we both say as Lise pops into the office

"What's going on?" she asks carrying a big Tupperware container

"Adam is leaving us." Michael says

"I have to get back to the station. Work needs to be done, and I can't do it here cooped up. Thank you for everything." she and I hug

"You'll be missed, Franny will be upset." Lise said handing me the container , Michael maybe the better cook, but not in deserts.

"I'll be back. I'm glad that I was able to get to know her. You have a good kid there, Lise, and a good partner." I look over at Michael

"Be safe, and your welcome at any time." I nod and give my thanks

I pack my belongings and a car takes me to the TransLink station and I nod to the escort. Mars. Desert Planet. The future is now yours to control. I hope you do great things.

Chapter 99: The Very Long Night... New
Warner Brothers Discovery own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

It is now June 2262 as we enter the summer months. The Raider project has gone mostly according to plan. It is amazing what you can accomplish when everyone is on the same page. Cooperation is a hell of a thing. Six months into this initiative and we've managed to already take out three of their major operating centers, and completely dismantle their operations involving the Drazi---of which the Freehold have been immensely grateful for and begun sharing their intelligence with us for the first time. Bester and the Telepath Expedition have begun their quest. There are a small fleet of ten IPX explorer class ships, with two Earth Alliance escort ships, and a White Star---on lone from the Alliance as a gesture of good will from us. The White Star has orders to shadow the group---and only intervene if there are any issues that should arise.

I've since relocated to VIP Quarters in Red 3. The most spacious quarters on the station---approximately double the size of senior officers quarters. I arrange with the Quartermaster for all new custom furniture which he bitches and complains about having to move.

"You know how much work all of this is going to cost...let alone the time? I mean there was perfectly great furniture already in THERE!"

"I'll compensate your employees for their time and effort. I'm already paying the techs for the installation of the Cray, this is no matter."

"I still can't believe you managed to convince Captain Lochley to allow you to have a freakin' Cray in your quarters!"

"Why not? I already had four state of the art monitors slaved together to an over worked drive. This was the next logical step, and it's not like I'm draining station power or anything."

"At least you don't think you are..."

"Look Phil...can I call you Phil? I feel like we've dealt with one another long enough to be on a first name basis."

"Sure..."

"I know this is going to be a lot of work, and take a lot of time---not to mention the fact that I am going to have to wait for all this stuff to arrive in the first place. So tell you what..."

I punch in a series of numbers in my little credit device and hand it over to him. His eyes bulge.

"Will this cover your hardship?"

"A thousand credits!! Are you serious?" he claims

"Deadly. That should take care of your entire department...and then some."

"It will. I'll take care of this personally for you." he exclaims

"Thanks Phil. I appreciate that."

My link beeps. I tap it.

"Young here go."

"Adam...you might want to come to MedLab. Asap." Lillian says

"What's happened?" I ask

"It's Ambassador Mollari..."

"I'm on my way."

The Very Long Night...

I make haste for MedLab which is actually not that far from my quarters now that I'm in Red Sector, but since I'm in Blue Sector right now it takes me about ten minutes to get there and Lochey, Allen, and Vir are all there outside the surgical theatre watching Franklin try to save Londo's life.

"How long has he been in there?" I ask

"Shortly after Dr. Hobbs called you..." Lochley

"He's been poisoned!!" Vir exclaims and I try not to grin

"We've been going over the shipment to see if there is---" Zack starts

"You need to tell us who did this to him!" Vir shouts hysterically

I wave them all off and fight from outright laughing. Lochley notices my expression.

"All right, calm down everyone."

"Calm down! Londo is in there fighting for his life, someone may have attempted to assassinate him and you want me to calm down!" Vir is hysterical

"Vir...it's not an assassination attempt. Zack, call off your investigation, there's no need for it." I reply trying to get some control of the situation

"What are you talking about? The Bravari's clearly been poisoned!" Vir insists

"Vir...he's had a heart attack. A massive one." I say very gently as if almost talking to a child.

"He's...what..." Vir reacts stunned

"Londo's had a massive cardiac arrest, specifically, his left. Because of how well it is protected in the Centauri chest cavity it is hard to operate on." I explain

Elizabeth looks slightly impressed

"I didn't know you knew Centauri physiology?" she asks

"I don't really...but I know the episode, and that's Stephen's diagnoses. Look...Vir...there's nothing you can do right now. Stephen will do everything he can for him, this is up to Londo now."

"It's mental?" Lochley asks

"Yeah. It's a crisis of character sort to speak. Londo has to want to come back to us."

"He does right? In the episode?" Vir asks

"Yes, he does." I reply

"Sheridan and Delenn have been informed. They'll be here shortly. They've been knee deep in Raider reports. Thank you Mr. Young." Lochley excuses herself and so does Zack as he goes to call off his investigation. I stand with Vir.

"It's strange. This happens in Jan in the show...what's Londo been dealing with lately?" I ask Vir

"Everything. He's been dealing with e-e-everything. Finalizing the treaty with the Narns, taking on the Prime Minister's responsibilities now that Vrini is sick. He's also been worried about Adira..." he turns to me and I frown

"I know. I promise that She is safe...but they can't be reunited until after the war with the Drakh is over."

"Why?" presses Vir and I exhale...as I pull up a nearby stool and offer one to Vir---he shakes his head

"Vir...can I trust you?" I ask with already knowing that I can

"What do you mean?" he asks as I stare at Stephen and his team working away at Londo. Oh Londo. You silly bastard.

"Vir...Londo is in incredible danger, and I don't mean from this."

"He has many enemies as you know, Mr. Young."

I make a decision.

"Vir...I've come to a decision and I need your absolute word that you won't tell or warn Londo of this. I give you my word though when the time is right---we will help Londo."

I see Vir's hesitation---I understand it. He's insanely loyal to Londo despite everything he has done. Why wouldn't he? Londo plucked him out of obscurity and elevated him.

"I don't know..." he replies

"Vir. I don't take this lightly. I wish it didn't have to be this way, I've racked my brain to come with alternatives---but there are none."

"What are you going to do?"

"Londo is going to be possessed by something called a Drakh Keeper. The Drakh want revenge for the role Londo played in destroying the Shadows. They're behind what has happened to the Prime Minister, and are waiting to do the same for Londo." I reveal and wait Vir's reaction

"You're using him as bait?" he finally asks getting angry again...this time at me.

"It's the only way. I need to be absolutely clear with you on this, nothing of what we talk about can get back to Londo---otherwise they will find out, and we're all cooked. Do you understand this Vir? This might be the single biggest secret you've ever been told in your career, and I know that's saying a lot."

"Yes."

"There is a plan that will be executed when the time is right, that's unfortunately in the future---but I hope it won't be too long. I know that you can do this Vir. It will be hard. Londo will push you away when this happens, you must allow him to do this...he's protecting you, as I was by not telling you anything---but we're going to need you to pull this off so I might as well tell you now. I'm gambling here Vir, with literally everything."

"The burden you have---I never really realized." Vir stammers

"It's okay. No one does, until stuff like this happens." I stand up and turn to face him

"I promise you...I give you my word that he will survive this, and that he will survive what is yet to come. He is after all LONDO FUCKING MOLLARI" I do a big exaggerated gesture and it gets Vir to laugh

"NOTHING must get to him." I repeat again

"I understand. You have my word now."

I put my hand on Vir's shoulder and the two of us watch as Stephen fights to save Londo's life.

Chapter 100: A Suit of Armor New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non Profit.

Author's Note: We're nearing the end now in the final stretch run. I hope you guys enjoy how this ends. We've only a few chapters left to go.

"You wish us to build you what?" Delenn asks confused

"A suit of armor." I reply in between eating handfuls of honey roasted peanuts

"Like what that Earth Force officer had?" an even confused Sheridan asks

I sit in their quarters and shake my head and produce from the inside of my jacket pocket a set of schematics. Their faces contort in a hilarious double frown.

"Absolutely not." Sheridan states

"I've done the research. The Minbari have the technology to replicate this tech. Especially with the remaining Vorlon technology they have in their possession, the AI capabilities of the suit would be tremendous. Beyond anything Stark could've come up with. There are no laws against this either, John. I've read up on that too."

Sheridan gets up and starts pacing around. He does that when someone irritates him or makes him angry. He often does this during conversations with me now.

"First of all...you're not a rated pilot at all. Secondly that thing would be a walking arms length list of interstellar weapons violations. Why the hell do you even need one? You're a lot of things Adam, respectfully, but a solider---and I hate to agree with Mr. Bester on anything---you aren't."

"I'll train on a Starfury, the weapon's this would possess---would be well within convention, and I need one because Mr. President, I'm mainly responsible for the two wars we're currently engaged in fighting. I may not be a solider, but I'm no coward either, and you yourself said---I'm a target now---well--this would give me protection from our enemies and any I personally have---that I don't know about yet." I reply

Delenn looks at John...she's coming around. He glances at her and says.

"Absolutely not. Don't encourage him." He says

"John..."

"No."

"Mister President. I will train with the best qualified Starfury pilot on the station---I looked that up---and tho and behold---it's our new Captain. It'll give the two of us a chance to bond further---which I know YOU want to have happen---and it'll get me over my fear of being in an even smaller tin can in space."

"What about the weapons systems? It'll be more than just ordering your AI unit to channel power through whatever God forsaken thing the Worker Caste comes up with?" Sheridan asks

"I'll train...on Tuzanor if that is what it takes. I haven't asked you for much John, I'm asking for this. A Suit of armor. That's all it is."

"A Goddamned walking time bomb...with an overambitious comic book nerd." Sheridan says

"Touche."

Sheridan looks at Delenn with their look and finally asks.

"Can Durlan and the Warrior Caste actually produce this...monstrosity?"

"They would have to examine the schematics. If there's any real science behind it...they will find the real world equivalent of it. They will look at it as a challenge."

"All right. How long?"

"A few months at most...it's hard to tell looking at these...crude designs." Delenn states

That'd hurt Tony, and probably the Marvel artist who drew these.

"Fine. But you talk to Elizabeth about this training asap and if she grounds you---the deal is off. Understood?"

"Yes. Mr. President."

Inside Captain Lochley's office---formerly Captain Sheridan and Commander Sinclair's office---I sit across from Elizabeth Lochley who is going over the latest Raider reports. It is looking good.

"You want me to what?" she asks over a cup of coffee

"Certify me as a Starfury pilot. President Sheridan has given his authorization."

"He what? This is a joke right? He's ribbing me? Getting me back for something?" She asks

"Not at all. You're to put me through basic Starfury certification training, the same as any Earth Force Pilot gets, if I flunk out---I don't get what I asked for."

"What did you ask for? It must've been something if you are willing to put yourself through this---you hate the prospect of being in a Fury." she has read my psyche profile

"I'd rather not reveal that right now. Let's just get me through this first and then I'll tell you what it's for." I say

"This is going to take weeks out of my schedule, all my down time." she grumbles

"I'll make it up to you."

"I don't see how you could possibly do that Mr. Young. All right fine. We'll start tomorrow morning at 09:00 don't be late---or else that'd be demerit number one."

"Understood sir."

"Is that all?" she asks and I nod

Chapter 101: Past and Present New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

July 2262. Londo recovers from his hearts attack and despite Stephen ordering a complete stress free recovery, the Centarum in their infinite wisdom has chosen to recall him back to Centurai Prime in order to prepare him for the transition of power after Virini has passed away. Londo will become Regent of the Centauri Republic, then at the end of the year will Ascend the Throne of the Centuari Republic as Emperor Mollari II...yes...at some point in the planet's past---one of his ancestors was made Emperor, a historical fact that Londo rarely allows any one to forget about. It is also this ancestral link that even lets his House continue to be in the line of succession. I'm watching "Superman: The Movie" on my Cray Computer monitor when I'm suddenly interrupted.

"Come in." I say and Londo--looking slightly haggard---but no less regal in his Imperial Purple---enters.

"Ambassador---"

"Please...we are far past trivialities such as titles...call me Londo in private. You have earned it." for a Centauri noble to insist you call him by his informal name---even in private---is considered a high honor.

"To what do I owe the honor of your visit...Londo, and do you care for any refreshments?"

"Anything that I want...I can not have at the moment, as you know...thank you Adam. May I sit?" he asks and I nod as he settles himself into my comfy chair

"Why am I here...indeed." Londo asks as he pauses to observe the room and smiles

"You have done well for yourself Mr. Young, since you first mysteriously graced ourselves with your presence, yesss?"

"Thanks in part to your generous gifts....Londo. I haven't forgotten what you've done for me."

"That is exactly why I am here, because I have not forgotten what you have done for me--Vir tells me that you were with him, watching over me while I was...having my mid-life crisis..." he jokes

"Yes."

"I thank you for that---Vir is why I am here---Adam. As you know, I've been recalled to homeworld, Virini is sick---dying. They are preparing for me. I have been aware for some time that---you and the others have been keeping secrets from me on the Council..."

I knew he would figure it out.

"Londo---I" he waves his hand in a dismissive gesture

"Bah! Do not apologize to me. After the things I have done, and no doubt will continue to do---we are all allowed our secrets, eh? No...I do not care why you have kept things from me, knowing you now as I do---it is likely because I do something extremely stupid as Emperor---and you and the others will have to stop me?" he inquires and I put on my best poker face

"I thought as much." he replies and sighs and slumps back in the chair, and then sits back up and looks me in the eyes

"I am here for Vir---I would have one final request from you---that you look over him in my absence. He has grown a great deal in the last two years...killing Cartarsia has....changed him...I worry about him...promise me you will do this?" he asks

"You have my word that I will look after Vir, Londo." I reply

He's extremely important to the future of this galaxy, and to rescuing you---you silly bastard.

"Thank you...Timov?" he asks

"Will become Empress of course---and can take care of herself---especially from you---but if you wish her protected, I will make sure of it."

"Thank you...Adira?"

"You will see her when things are deemed safe for her...how that is determined---is up to to you Londo."

He nods sadly. He reaches into his jacket pocket and takes out a hefty looking velvet pouch and tosses it onto my desk....a good toss!

"In the pouch is one thousand Ducats. My final gift to you. I am aware you are on the Board of Directors of Edgars-Garibaldi---congratulations---but I insist you accept it. You have earned it and much more. If things were different...I would appoint you to the Royal Court---but I know you wouldn't come---and things are not different." he gets up

"You have my eternal thanks for what you have done for me and Vir---I will not forget it."

"This is goodbye then Londo?"

"What is the expression you like to say? It is Good Journey." he bows his head and I return the gesture

"Good Journey Ambassador Mollari." I say formally out of respect---he slightly nods in acknowledgement of the respect. I watch him leave. It has begun.

Later on in the month I spin around in the stations Aerotrim Gyroscope. I'm not surrreeeeeeeeee the speeeeed that I am goinnnnnnnggggggg innnnnnnnnnnnn but tthiiissssssssssss issssssss the firsttttttttttt timeeeeeeeeee I haventttttttttttttttttttttt thrown upppppppppp in ittttttttttt in a montthhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. It starts to slow down as Elizabeth monitors my vitals.

"That was good."

My breathing is hard....

"You're not in this fucking thing...."

"When you've reached your strength level you'll be able to control it yourself. "

"I don't understand why this is necessary. The Starfury's structural integrity makes none of this training... necessary." I state

"Lianna asked me to put you through this. She wants you to experience the full pilot training experience...and you still need to learn to withstand the G-Force."

"Lianna....that's the second time you've brought her up---" the machine stops and I'm unstrapped. My balance is starting to restore earlier now. That's good from the first two or three times I was in this thing.

"What---is your relationship with her if you don't mind me asking?" I say through recovery breaths

"Lianna and I were assigned briefly together to coordinate security at a Earth Force High Command conference on Ganymede. This---really sure be her story to tell you, but what the hell---we got close---and had a brief---relationship together." she smiles a shit eating grin at me

I look at her blank faced. She's been waiting to get me back for knowing about her and Sheridan.

"Y-you and Lianna?"

"For about two weeks yeah. I was a Lt-Commander at the time. She was making her way through the ranks quickly and the Joint-Chiefs were noticing it. The Conference was how she got put on Presidential duty eventually."

My head starts to whirl...thing about all kinds of...things....before I finally throw up and pass out.

Chapter 102: Fleshing Out Lochley New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

Much later on after I've recovered I am sitting on Elizabeth's couch in her quarters. She pours me a drink of orange juice. A habit she picked up from her time being married to Sheridan. This woman is more mysterious than I gave her credit for.

"So...let me understand this clearly. You and Lianna were co-chair of a Earth Force Joint-Chiefs Conference on Ganymede---or wherever for two weeks back when you were a Lieutenant-Commander in between assignments, and she was being fast tracked for Presidential security?"

"That's right. We spent so much time together that it just---happened." Lochley shrugs as she sits down across from me

I take a sip of the orange juice. Nothing beats fresh. Nothing. I can understand why this is a thing with the high ranking officers. Even Stephen has fresh juice in his office from multiple races.

"We were working together literally 24/7 together. I handled the logistics and general administrative issues, while Lianna oversaw security. This is how she got the attention of the higher ups who recommended her for Presidential detail. The election was coming up shorty after and the rest is history."

"You stayed in contact after that?" I ask

"Of course. We knew it was just going to be a fling, but we also genuinely enjoyed each other's company and became friends. Why are you acting weird about this? You've shown yourself to be opened minded about things."

I laugh.

"It's not that I'm weird about that---I applaud it actually---I'm just a bit taken aback. Lianna has said nothing about this to me."

"The two of you frankly haven't spent that much time together---in a relative sense, and what should've been a normal vacation for you became anything but after the Keeper suspicion, so I'm not surprised. I'm glad to know that you don't know EVERYTHING about me." she jokes

I suddenly have a new found respect and admiration for Elizabeth that I didn't before. She's just not this one dimensional character we saw briefly on our television screens decades ago any more. I feel like I can trust her now...I wasn't so sure about that before this little reveal.

"You are a woman of mystery, Captain."

"Elizabeth...we're off duty now, Adam."

I lean back in my chair. Trying to let months of tension and stress out. I've not really talked to her yet about what she thinks of my...plan.

"I have something I need your opinion on, and I need you to be honest with me."

"Of course."

"What do you think about the proposed plan for the Drakh so far? Everything that I've outlined?"

Elizabeth exhales, gives me a brief hard look, takes another sip of her orange juice then replies.

"I think it is both bold and reckless. Having us deal with the Raiders was extremely inspired, I'll grant you that. There have been pushes for us to be more aggressive with them for decades, but no one at the Joint-Chiefs has had the will power to directly deal with them. Throwing the entire might of the Alliance against them to burrow them out and then strangle them was a good idea. Cutting off an arm for the Drakh. The reckless part I have an issue with is using Ambassador Mollari as bait to keep tabs on this...Shiv'Kala. You've explained it to us ad nauseum why this needs to happen, but it doesn't mean I like or agree with it."

"There's literally no other way Elizabeth. At least this way---"

"I hate to interrupt you Adam, but you're assuming things. The fact of the matter is that we don't possess any concrete intelligence on the existence or current operational status of Shiv'Kala or the greater Drakh Entire in general. Both the Rangers and Covert Intelligence despite their aggressive attempts, have failed to confirm activity on Centuari Prime or at Za'Ha'Dum. I understand you're basing your information on what you've seen from the show---but you've butterflied enough now that the Drakh may have decided on a different approach, or even use a different person as their point man. Have you considered those things?"

"I have considered that....and dismissed it." I reply

"Why?" she counters

"Because Londo Mollari is about to become the Emperor of the Centauri Republic. The Drakh have been slowly manipulating and awaiting this since the moment Londo pushed the button on the nukes that blew up the Shadows on Selini...I have absolutely no doubt that they are on Centauri Prime, at least a small portion of them."

"Then we need to flush them out into the open." Elizabeth demands her military hat kicking in strong here

I shake my head

"Not yet. Londo...can be saved Elizabeth. The key is to find and KILL Shiv'Kala. I have made this clear before. If we strike too early---we risk blowing our entire operation against them and forcing them to hide deeper---where we might never find them. Londo is the key, as is Vir."

"Cotto? Why?" she asks incredulously---she doesn't respect Vir yet. She will in time

"Vir is going to be the one to kill Shiv'Kala." I say coldly

It is then that Elizabeth suddenly sees me in a new light.

"You do have a plan." she realizes

"Oh yes. I realize that it's flawed, but I'm not doing this wily nilly. This is the long game we're playing here. A dangerous game that has a high risk factor for those involved in it, especially and including myself. This will take a few years---but ultimately MUST result in the death of Shiv'Kala."

"This is why you want the suit of armor. You don't just want it for protection...you want to be out there on the mission that liberates the Centauri." she says with respect

"Yes."

"Normally I'd want to kill the monster myself, but it is Vir's destiny to do it...I want to be there though when the strike team infiltrates the Palace. We will slowly create a false sense of security for Shiv'Kala. Convince him that his plans are working against us, then when we're ready---which I hope is in a couple of years---rather than the ten it takes in the books---we will execute our trap and ensnare him."

"Devious."

"Thank you."

"Does Lianna know this side of you?" she asks

"She's seen it once or twice now yes. She's partly responsible for honing it."

Elizabeth nods.

"We're going to skip the rest of the basic training and get you into a Starfury." she suddenly says

"WHAT?!"

"You were right about the zero g training...I was just fucking around with you---Lianna asked me to do it. You're quite correct about the structural integrity, having the cockpit in the centre of the fighter allows for minimal zero g force when doing high velocity maneuvers. We'll start when I'm off shift at 18:00 hours."

"Understood."

Chapter 103: The Salvation of Centuari Prime New
Warner Brothers Discovery Own Babylon 5. For Entertainment Purposes Only. Non-Profit.

"Positively, absolutely NOT! The answer is no." Sheridan says as he starts pacing again

"John...this can work...we're not going to have another opportunity to do this for at least a decade."

"Then we'll wait for a decade! I'm not going to give permission for something so reckless."

"We'll save Londo, and end the war in one fell swoop." I insist

"You're assuming that will be the result of this action." Delenn replies

"You're taking his side?" I ask

"You are not ready for this kind of op Adam." Delenn says

"I've not been ready for any of this with all respect Delenn. This can work." I insist

"What if it doesn't? You're asking me to allow you to waltz in to the Emperor's throne room with an untested, unproven piece of highly volatile weapon...to confront an unknown, un-predictable, highly dangerous enemy." Sheridan argues

"I'm asking you to allow me to kill Shiv'Kala and save Londo's life...along with your future child's." I reply

"This vase...you said it contains a Keeper meant for...our son...in the future I saw---his name was David." he stops in front of Delenn and the two take each others hands

"That's right. David Sheridan II, after your father. The Keeper is from Shiv'Kala's birthing cache as well. It causes no end of drama for you both, and is hard on David as well. He tries bravely to fight it but can't and runs away for a while. Killing Shiv'Kala will kill the gestating Keeper in the vase, and prevent Londo from getting his. He might already have one now---it is imperative that we act now. This has nothing to do with me."

"What made you change your mind about this all of a sudden?" Sheridan asks

I sigh in the chair.

"I should have come up with this sooner. I knew the two of you would be invited---given what I have butterflied---I began to feel guilty that I haven't suggested that I go there. He will be waiting for Londo in the throne room---or Londo's chamber...we can do this John."

"You are asking for a dozen of the best trained Anla'Shok, our best Security, and G'Kar and Garibaldi?"

"Yes."

"Why not Vir, I thought it was destiny to kill Shiv'Kala?" Sheridan asks

"It was. I shouldn't have put this burden on him. He's still dealing with having indirectly killed Emperor Cartagia...this should be me. All of this has been my plan from the start, there's one more thing too."

"No." Sheridan doesn't hesitate with his answer

"Elizabeth has suggested this." I say and that gets his attention

"What?" he prompts

"We strike at Za'Ha'Dum...but it has too be a coordinated attack. The White Star Fleet needs to wait until after I give the confirm order that Shiv'Kala is dead. There will be other operatives they have on other worlds...but if we cut off the snake's head AND take away their nest..."

"Elizabeth suggested this?"

"Yes."

Sheridan exhales.

"You really want to do this? What of the Centauri?"

"They will thank us, especially you for liberating them from monsters that they had no idea were secretly controlling them this whole time. We will be able to accelerate the end of a war that hasn't begun yet."

"You really think it will work?"

"Yes." I say only half convinced this time

"Do it." Sheridan says

August 15. 2262. It is a grand ceremony as the Interstellar Alliance Fleet does flybys over the planet, and the White Stars roar over the capital building of the Republic capital. There is no battle this time as my butterflying has prevented the Drazi/Narn conflict with the Centauri. The disruption of the Raiders operations has put a wrench into the Drakh's operation they were not expecting. There is a great deal of pomp and circumstance as we see Londo's holographic image projected across the capital much like Skeletor from the MOTU film. This is a much different speech than the one he made in the series. A speech about hope, about strengthening alliances, and bringing back light from the darkness. It is a stirring speech. It is time as I put on the piece of hard ware for the first time. Sindell gave it to me personally and I see the red and gold plating light up as it activates to my DNA. Only I can use this device, I personally requested this safeguard. The rest of the suit is going to take time, and will be redundant now---but this was ready and I wasn't going to pass it it up. I march quickly with G'Kar and Garibaldi at my side as we catch Londo. I raise my left arm and point it at the shadow creature lurking by the curtains.

"It's over Shiv'Kala." I say as the device arms itself with a twining noise....Garibaldi arms his PPG as it makes his noise and the Rangers drop out of the top of the roof.

Londo stammers....

"I had nothing---to-to doo--

"It's all right Londo. It's over now." I say

"You! No--you'll" shrieks Shiv'Kala

I make a motion with my arm and a burst of powerful energy projects from the palm of the gauntlet and strikes at the Drakh clan leader. The others follow suit with their weapons. I then watch as my hunch was correct and we see Londo struggle---I wave off G'Kar and Garibaldi...

"No wait..." I say

We watch in horrific fascination as the Keeper reveals itself and unleashes a nearly unbearable scream...in realization that it's master has been killed. It lurches off as it untwists itself from it's host and attempts to flee on the ground....

"NOW!" I order as I blast it with a repulsor blast as do the others. It vaporizes immediately on impact.

"Londo---the Vase you're going to give to Sheridan--where is it?" I demand

"Over there...on the side table." he gasps

"Hit it." I order and Garibaldi blasts the vase and we see the baby keeper---it reacts suddenly and that's when I fire another pulse at it and it vaporizes. A ranger steps from the corpse of Shiv'Kala...

"He's gone sir."

I tap my link.

"Now Mister President." I give the signal

"Acknowledged. Will report when the operation has concluded. How is Londo?" he asks

"Will tell you after I ask him, sir." I reply

"Understood. Sheridan out."

I lower the Iron Man gauntlet and walk over to Londo---by now Centauri Royal Guards have burst into the room wondering what the hell is going on. Michael is reassuring them that everything is okay.

"Londo...your majesty---are you okay?" I ask

He slowly adjusts his jacket and gathers himself and then looks up at me with---gratitude.

"You never have to address me as your majesty for as long as you live, Mr. Young." he says and I nearly start crying

"Londo...I'm so so sorry---it was the only way---but I realized it was the wrong way---there was---" he puts up his hand as he heads to sit on the throne

"Bah! You do not need to apologize to me, I now realize that you have saved my life for the third time--and this time I demand that you be rewarded properly for it...but before all that---you have my eternal gratitude and thanks, I suspect you have saved me from decades of misery and bad choices---and I'm not sure that I deserve---" he stops himself as he gets emotional.

"Londooooooooooo!!!" we all hear suddenly Timov's shrill voice echo's in the hallways

"LONDOOOOOOO!!!!"

Timov, now the Empress of the Centauri Republic bursts into the room, demanding to see her husband. Followed by Vir.

"What's happened? What's going on?" she demands

"Mr. Young, my dear wife, has saved our people from being plunged into eternal darkness--as well as---unfortunately for you---my life." Londo chuckles

Timov approaches me and gives me that stern look of hers. Jane Carr. Played the role to perfection. She then does something I wasn't expecting. She hugs me.

"Thank you." she whispers into my ear and I hug her back

"You killed him?" Vir asks

"I did. I spared you from what should have been my duty to do."

The Link goes off

"Young here go."

"It's done. Za'Ha'Dum has been destroyed---your haunch was correct. We're in pursuit of a bulk of what appears to be Drakh forces. The Alliance fleet will chase them until we get them." Sheridan states

"Understood. There other operatives will go deep underground now. It'll be nearly impossible to find them."

"We'll do that too. You've done good work today Adam. I'm impressed."

"Thank you sir...you and Delenn should come see Londo."

"We're on all way."

It's over...the nightmare is over as I go sit down in a corner and rest my head in my gauntlet covered hand...
