Especially as canonically apophis thought he was gonna go and fight all the other system lords and then they resolved that by carter blowing up a sun which apophis somehow survived and thus I legitimately expected him to come back in the following season.YEAH! The fight is on!
Stargate suffered from the syndrome of keeping a villain alive WAY past its expiration date. Much like the show Heroes with Silar.
They should have resolved the Apophis conflict maybe in the second or third season and then moved on to bigger galactic politics showing how unprepared they were and just plain plot armor lucky they got.
If only we could have gotten Farscape's props and animatronics for SG 1 insteadYeah. So much lost potential in using the Goauld better. What with all the pantheons they had, they should have used that to do the same as the Tokra. While Ra and the Egyptian theme Goauld were supreme at the moment, there was an uneasy peace with all the others since they could have allied together to dethrone Ra.
But no, we got generic Goaulds galore.
Another thing they could have used was the worship system of later Ori. Much like them, the Goauld had been worshipped by millions and millions for millenia, that should had given them some minor, for not being Ascended, "divine" powers.
Bah. I keep getting away with day dreams.
And aliens. There wasnt a single good looking alien species outside the Goauld and Unas. Th Asgard sucked so much.
OOF. That has all the hallmarks of not being fun at all.
Saqarra was one of Apep's throne worlds (This is Ra and Apophis's father, and the Supreme System Lord before Ra), the most obvious importance of it, is that it houses the Great Library which is itself built on an ancient outpost housing an Alteran / ANubis style mother ship that the library was built on top of. Its got naquadah, and trinium its relatively wealthy planet, but the library itself is also accorded neutral ground under the system lords, Apophis taking control of it after Ra died was a massive status symbol even though he didn't really do anything with the library or its retinue of goa'uld scientists before Sokar came and kicked Apophis's ass later.OOF. That has all the hallmarks of not being fun at all.
On the Oskyld side of things, I have to admit to being pretty ignorant concerning stargate, is he aiming to grab Saqaara have more shipyards and is therefore great to grab because more shipyards mean more ships built and maintained equals more dakka, does it have a good amount of natural strategic resources (read: naquadah), or is it simply because it's the most built up planet in area near his borders and so is something of a natural hub? Or is there another thing I'm missing because I haven't seen the show?
When Carter actually gets face to face enough that Jolinar's memories resurface to be like 'oh' coupled with the, thats fully replicated gate builder technology not just knock offs there of.Man, when are they going to finally learn that he is not Sokar?
Its specifically Zhukov who wants to, as unlike in canon Russian SG 1 survives here so he'll be back as will Marchenko when Disclosure opens up for the Commonwealth countries getting SG teams (Canada, UK, Australia, specifically)of course it is the Russians that want to attack the first alien thing they've seen that didn't try to kill them.
This one (which is the chapter before the one you just posted) is missing a threadmark.
