Are quote marks supposed to work in search?

I seem to remember quotation marks working in search to search for an exact phrase, but at the moment they're simply being ignored when I search.

What's going on here?

EDIT: The plot thickens. It works for "genocide is just another game" (i.e. it gets the posts that have that sentence, but not every other post with those words in it, whereas searching without the quotes does get all of those), but "I never asked for this" gets all sorts of other stuff that doesn't actually contain that sentence.
