• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • An addendum to Rule 3 regarding fan-translated works of things such as Web Novels has been made. Please see here for details.
  • The issue with logging in with email addresses has been resolved.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

I've been getting 502 Bad Gateway's quite a few times today when I try and open QQ.

I don't know if this related or not but sometimes (also today) it looks as if the site isn't fully loaded.

Yep, I have a better than 50% chance of getting a bad gateway on any web request...

Tried logging in ~two minutes ago, got 502 bad gateway thrown on my face. It's cleared again since obviously, but why is it a thing in the first place?

Server crashed a few days ago and it caused a bunch of bugs, they've mostly but not entirely been since squashed.

I've also been having intermittent problems connecting to the forum. But I noticed that I was able to connect just fine when on mobile data, the problems were only present when on my WiFi.

I've changed my settings to use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS, and it seems to be working now.

I'm not sure if this will stay stable, or if it's related to the same issues you guys are having. But the timing of these issues for me does line up.

I think 502w might have been related to the DNS being misconfigured on the QQ server and the backend having to catch up with a lot of unsent mail and undownloaded images.

The partial loading might also have been related if the nginx didn't have the bandwidth or if the static content like css and js for xenforo is served by the PHP code itself.

Try speedest and check if QQ is up via https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/

If you are on windows you can also clear the local DNS cache by using ipconfig /flushdns but it sounds like your problem is more related to your ISP having issues.

Haven't seen any problems since the DNS misconfig got fixed, myself.
