I know, right?Oh my, this could be very interesting. I am looking forward to where you take this. I've always loved nanotech and I'm tickled pink that you are actually taking a realistic approach to this rather than just being magic goo.
I dunno, puddings can run pretty quickly when they want to.His movement as an amorphous blob of nanites was somewhere between that of a slug and an angry bowl of pudding, so he certainly wasn't going to win any races
If you don't mind spoilers:Oh? Battletech game huh, then you have a chance to go for the Argo as your ship, including that one unmanned SLDF base somewhere over thereabouts.
The marauders get suicidal contracts for their size lol. I wouldnt want those contracts at all if i was a merc. The player can handle it because its designed to let them triumph, but the sheer attrition and firepower youd be up against is far beyond what a merc company would consider acceptable. If you don't mind spoilers:
This story is going to be happening parallel to the games (and altering their course slightly), including some minor grumbling that Markham's Marauders are getting all the really juicy contracts thanks to their "in" with Lady Kamea.
Yeah but he's also Human... technically... yeah he's fucked.Hmm, now I'm wondering how he handles jumps. Wasn't there an issue with AI going insane?

Did some digging... closest I could find was that the Caspar Drone Warships needed to have their AIs offline during jump to avoid them going berserk. But that was the only class of AI that seemed to apply to -- the BlackWasp drone ASFs didn't have that issue for example.Hmm, now I'm wondering how he handles jumps. Ah... I was thinking less about an instant game over caused by the only viable method of travel and more along the lines of the SI seeing something while mid jump that is otherwise disturbing for computer minds.Keeping in mind that I like my Scooby-Doo type stories and I need to consciously remind myself to add enough conflict into my stories, I can tell you right off the bat that it will not simply be a Bad End upon hyperspace. You'll have to wait and see what the results are.
I think humans also see somethings that is disturbing. But for for organic minds the jump is over before it can be processed. An AI on the other hand has all the time in world to obsess over the sensor logs.Ah...
