• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

Can I get a Rule 1 clarification?

I am sure it would help immensely if you summarized why you think they are the same. Without enough sleep I was mightily confused why you picked out both a post from seven years ago as well as a thread from ten years ago.
Anyway, I don't think either case is that terrible even if I do think both would receive a warning if a moderator was around and it got reported.

Unless you are implying the unwarned commenter has some connection that saves him from getting warned I don't think there is much of a functional difference. Maybe there was further context in terms of more or less reports or in thread, but tbh I wouldn't care too much about either case seeing as it is a rant thread and thus should have a bit more expression freedom.
It wasn't more than a mild warning anyway, so it might come down to who judged each case, if they even both got reported and not checked by a mod already in the thread anyway...

Ah, ziggy. Ziggy, ziggy, ziggy. After two days, I was starting to think you were less determined to throw yourself upon your own landmine than I expected, and yet here we are. With you continuing to pointlessly pursue your cost-sunk crusade, now dragging it out into the open. Spam reporting didn't do the trick. Ranting in the PM about your own Rants subforum ban, that you received for spam reporting didn't do the trick. What makes you think this will be different? When I directly told you that pushing farther would only result in you getting hit harder?

Well, your choice. This seems like the kind of thing that we'll want to decide as a group how hard of a smack we should hit you with, so...

To everybody who might be confused: we take harassment of other users very seriously. Take that, and the bit above, and make of it what you will.

@ziggy, you have been warned multiple times to drop this issue. Instead, you decided to drag it out into the public forum. We are not addressing this further, and ignoring staff warnings will get you a week off the site.

For the benefit of public readers, this post is a continuation of a dispute that the OP has been pursuing continually in reports and PMs, despite warnings otherwise. This post on its own is not in violation of the rules.
