You know, come the reveal of her actual power I'm just waiting for some of the less butthurt E88 grunts to go "it's not like she was subtle about it, naming herself after the memetic god of liars, shapeshifters and bullshit magic".

You know I've been kind of surprised there hadn't been some name confusion between Low Key and Loki made by people who only went by the way the name was said. It's the kind of thing I as a hard of hearing (Politically Deaf) person tend to notice with narratives like this which rely on punny names. I keep expecting people to trip over them and so far it doesn't seem to have happened.

I wonder how long they will take to figure out she played miss militia. They'll probably slap a Social Thinker rating on her now.

Also I'm pretty sure they know she got raped in the alley. But now they're gonna be hella confused whether she's actually an emotional wreck or whether she already got over it.

Actually did she get over it? I get she's gone all Exalted now, and I guess Cannon Taylor with the Warlord mindset will also probably get over it right?

Second the Aegis fight should be interesting, given Taylor has his power plus more he was pretty much doomed from the start.

Aegis doesn't really have a way to fight a giant wolf in the first place, so he's probably only supposed to catch up to her stay out of her range while chucking foam at her.

Though given there was a second flash of light, the Purity loyalty might have come into play already.

The Low Key - Loki pun is intentional.

This fic constantly shifts in my estimation from "so bad it's good" to "well played, very well played".

The fact Taylor escaped so fast, while still keeping her options open (she was going to be and might still be considered for Ward membership) is nothing short of crazy and very in line with Taylor's current goals of aquiring more powers while being "lowkey". And the misunderstandings continue to be epic.

Also the fact her help all but ensured that the empire didn't fall so easily must be grating Coil very much. Not to mention Taylor now as all the excuses she needs to see the rest of the empire rooster in action.

My one nitpick is the lack of action and appearance on Danny's part. We all know he isn't really relevant to this fic, he is barely mentioned, but his abscence from the narrative is what truly clinches it to me of how much of a psycho Taylor is in the process of becoming. Exalted indeed.

Something to note is that even in the lack of nazis dialogue in this latest chapters Taylor's internal monologue is still colored by her interactions with them which shows more of her actual weakness continuing to be from a lack of healthy social interaction more than anything. But good luck getting her to stop interacting with gangs and villain capes for her sweet sweet charms.

And clockblocker is gonna be even more of a laughting stock now that he knows Lowkey was sandbagging so much.

But enough about all the current narrative points. The real question is going to be if "Levi" is gonna showup and if Lowkey is going to be able to continue to be lowkey. Also will Taylor's actions actually cause enough of a butterfly's effect to change an Endbringer battle ?

Cmon Lisa was the only person she really would have cared about unconditionally, but she kinda fucked it up this time. (I think Coil tortured info out of her, although it will be interesting to see if she only revealed Low Key persona and protected other secrets. I actually think even she doesn't know if she could protect those secrets under torture.)

Now Taylor isn't going to trust anyone without Loyalty flashing for her power. The moment Taylor is done with the Empire she's probably gonna either screw them over or fake her own death and disappear.

I am aware. However except for Rune--once!--no one seems to have tripped over the name. It's a bit unusual. I mean sure, the PHO account helps get the name correct a little bit but not everyone on Earth Bet is on PHO or a cape geek. It would seem to me to be much more likely to see more of Loki than Low Key than we do. That's all I'm saying.

Taylor's POV likely wouldn't pick up on it in casual conversation, other people are usually competent enough to do their research. Actually showing people doing said research would occupy narrative space, which would be against the author's style.

I actually expected Taylor to be content sitting pretty and absorbing more Protectorate/Wards powers, but I suppose she'd think of this also being a chance to get E88 powers she couldn't before and the latter option has ACTION, which parahumans are biased towards.

You're telling me that no further arrests have been made?"
Pffffftttttt. The PRT continues to be a joke, as usual.

Say it with me now, "Taylor is an Exalted"
Thanks for stepping up to defend Sociopaths.

They dont deserve to be tarred with the same brush as exalted like Taylor dear.

There is unfortunately a certain mindset that simply cannot handle complexity, cannot bear to see actual shades of grey in the world.
99% of the population is too stupid to understand any kind of complexity and you know it.

So, what power did she get from MM?
The power to make a knife appear from nowhere obviously :V

Probably solar weapon creation. Glorious solar saber I think?

I'm surprised she didn't VEE herself for an extra dot of Performance. That s rank result had me thinking she was gonna mention having done that.
She should have, that performance was way outside of her usual skill set.

But shes been doing nothing but psycopathically lie and manipulate people since she exalted. Training XP maybe?

I lick my lips, considering how to put things. "Low Key - Taylor - is an emotional wreck," I say, trying to maintain an even tone. "She spent most of the time crying. When her father arrived, she hid her face and refused to speak with him at all."
It was exhausting, but you're a tiny bit proud of your performance back there.
With nothing else to do for the time being, you cry yourself to sleep. There is a camera in your room, after all.
Well that's a couple more data points.

"No!" Clockblocker shouts. "She can't do that! That's bullshit!"
"Her wolf can't fly," Clockblocker insists sullenly. "There's no way. No one sandbags that hard. I cornered her, and she didn't fly away. She engaged in hand-to-hand combat with me rather than fly away. Me! Clockblocker!"

"She won," Armsmaster notes.
Ha! Memed on by Armsmaster.

As they meet, there's another flash of light.

The Solar Knife went snicker-snack!
and now unbanned, with Aegis' hand,
She went galumphing back.

Never played Exalted, so not a clue if its actually a charm, but I'm guessing she got something to either give her an initiative bonus, or something against ambushes (Because Militia is always armed/prepared, and Tay didn't want to be armed.)

Wonder how Dauntless will take the news of Low key having a sunblade. (Because on one hand it shows restraint, even during her frenzied stabbing spree/distraction she didn't pull out her Knoife. On the otherhand, the Empires Roof diving Psycho bitch has a Knoife.)

Also curious how Aisha will take that Taylors great escape hampered Grue's rescue.

the Empires Roof diving Psycho bitch
Wouldn't it be funny if the legend of "RDPB of Brockton Bay" became a thing in-universe? As in, she'd be the most infamous villain in the city, with THAT'S being her PHO-given moniker.

Also, I think Aisha may be trapped at the Rig now. Depending on how stubborn and competent the PRT is, she may be trapped until the shield comes down at Leviathan's attack.

I'm pretty sure she got Nightmare Fugue Vigilance. She was trying to not get a weapon-based power, and Miss Militia is a Noctis cape, so that would qualify I think. I forget what one kW means, but since it was 2, and this charm is essence 2, it makes sense to me at least. Would mean more time available for activities, but would reduce her ability to gain Willpower from sleep.

Also consider Taylor's stunt made PRT erect the stranger protocols. :V

I am surprised that no one so far, not in chapter or outside, has pointed out that the stranger breaking Taylor out obviously would also give her the knife.

Also also. Thinking about it. Taylor totally is Loki. Shapeshifter, crafts magical things, plays tricks on unsuspcting heroic individuals. Gets into the weirdest of shit, like that desert adventure, or being memed on by Simurg. And also solves problems when called on, if in sometimes a monkey's paws way. Like :V Dragon Taylor teamup also involved Simmy. But you never can know with Loki.

But as your informal history lessons with the rank and file have made clear, the America she believes in is all madey-uppy.
I mean, it was the "land of the free" only if you were a rich white male landowner. So this is honestly not wrong. Today it's the land of the free if you're a rich white male politician or billionaire.

The America Miss Militia believes in is just a concept that never existed in the real world. Gotta love propaganda so effective it's still going 2 centuries later.

The Jewish cabal forcing immigration reform in the 60s is obviously wrong. They didn't have the money to bribe and lobby for forcible immigration reform. They were busy building their space laser.

Obviously /s

How sure of that are you, in a setting where the Nazis have heart-felt debates about the merits of socialism?

How do you know there wasn't an alliance of money and influence and [insert nefarious race/species] that connived to overthrow the old order? Perhaps that's what made this particular world a viable target for the Space Whales, the fact that it was already fractured and in conflict.

Was reading a fic where taylor is pretending to be marquises daughter and has non-manton limited bone control, she was at a meeting with he Elite and they are talking about having tried to expand to teh bay before but unable to deal with the local groups and they brought up an interesting point.

There is no way the more retarded and indoctrinated elements of the empire don't think the Elite is secretly run by jews. Its a collection of thinkers and tinkers from media and business that went off to make a mastermind style influence and control group focused on business dealings called "The Elite". That's every nazis wet dream of an organization for confirming their biases, and members of the Empire are generally deluded enough to buy into any conspiracy theory that fits their biases (See taylors little rant about immigration in the 60s and how the empire grunts see it)

Hell one of their main leaders (Uppercrust) is an older sick man that sells powerful tech to the government in exchange of his criminal dealings being ignored, they are also mainly originated in california around the areas of Hollywood and the Silicon valley.

All morality, reason, and capability for rational thought aside, why the hell hasn't the Empire used the Elite as a propaganda piece?

Got a link to that story?

Wait a minute.

Once you're naked there's a mandatory shower, followed by a brief but unpleasant interlude featuring a female PRT officer and two sets of disposable latex gloves. Satisfied that you're free of contraband, they give you ill-fitting underwear and a festive orange jumpsuit (and socks, but no shoes) before they go on to draw blood and take fingerprints.

Another gesture from Colin, and the view switches to a camera outside the cell. A foam turret is deploying from the ceiling as Low Key runs down the corridor. It doesn't look like she's going to make it, but just as it's about to fire on her she dives forward, literally jumping out of her clothes. She scrambles away while the turret covers the bright orange jumpsuit in foam. I shake my head in grudging admiration, while Colin mutters something about targeting algorithms. She's past the turret and into the stairwell before it can reorient on her.

Did Taylor just ride off on Bubble's wearing nothing but a pair of socks, and not in the fun way?
