### Synopsis

In the remote mountain village of Ye Jia Village, the traditional Ghost Festival in 1998 is marked by eerie rituals and unsettling events. On this fateful night, Ye Da Bao ventures into the village's ancestral cemetery under a full moon to fulfill a dangerous promise. He digs up the grave of his second sister-in-law, who died tragically in childbirth, separating her from her newborn. With a solemn vow, he reunites the baby's corpse with its mother, invoking a chilling supernatural response.

A month later, Ye Da Gong, the head of the Ye family, faces an inexplicable illness afflicting his young grandson, Shao Yang. Despite numerous hospital visits, no diagnosis is found, leading the family to suspect a malevolent supernatural cause. Desperate for a cure, Ye Da Gong's son, Ye Bing, returns with a dubious Taoist priest from the city, hoping to save the boy from the mysterious illness.

The story intertwines ancient curses, village superstitions, and the relentless quest for answers in a haunting tale of family loyalty, dark rituals, and the unseen forces that bind the living and the dead.
