Two people sit in a office building, one laying on the couch fumbling with a rubix cube and another at the front desk typing away at a laptop.

They notice a woman walk in "You two are the Paranormal Hunters right?"
"Yeah."
"I would like to ask you for some assistance. Our home has been making strange noises at night and furniture has been knocked all across. It's been going for weeks now. My husband was gravely injured just yesterday in his sleep. I've tried calling the police but they've had no luck."
"What's the payment?"
"1,000$ or anything else you request as I was told from your middle man."
"Hear that Lucy? We gotta job to do."

The girl places the cube down. "Can we get cake after?"
"That's the plan. Get dressed, okay?"
"Yay!" She runs upstairs and trips up the stairs.

The two sit in the back of a car. "So we need to wait until…?"
"2 am."

He turns his head to The Girl. "Hear that Lucy? We're having a sleepover."
"What's a sleepover again?"
"You get to stay up past bedtime."
"Really?!" Her face lights up only to go down suddenly. "But what about your bedtime stories?"
The man digs through his coat. He pulls out a newspaper. "Let's see… How about the tale on how… actually I don't want to spoil it for you."
"Aw man…"

They arrive at a Large Mansion. "Talk about fancy, where's the source?"
"In our basement."
"Classic."

The three walk in and down to a large storage unit. "We'll be sitting here for the night I suppose. I recommend you get out the house for when the time comes." He sits down with Lucy following.
"Alright. Please do your best."

The two sit in the basement. The man pulls out his laptop. "Lucy, What movie do you want to watch?" He looks to her still trying to work the rubix cube.
"I wanna watch the one with the cool car robots!"
"Alright, come over here."

The two huddle by the laptop as hours pass.

Lucy yawns. "I'm sleepy."
"You gotta stay up for a little longer okay?"
"Okay…" Her eyes half close as she talks half awake, her body emitting a faint light. "Luke?"
"Yeah Lucy?"
"Daddy's coming home soon right? He said he had a big meeting in the underworld didn't he?""
"He did."
"And Mommy…?"
"Maybe one day she'll come with him…"
"Mmmn."

They see something emerge from the shadows. A demon stares at them and breathes heavily. Luke hugs her sister. He begins a lullaby as Lucy falls asleep. He stands up and steps back as more demons appear and he finishes the Lullaby.

Lucy stands up, her aura radiating. She shoves her hand into her bag and pulls out a synthesizer. She begins playing on it, ice jutting up from the floor and impaling each demon. Multiple come in from behind with scythes, the two jumping up and Lucy slamming down with the synthesizer smashing it to pieces. The shards turn to Ice and stab into other demons before reforming the synthesizer into her hands. They hear a shriek from outside. Luke begins walking up the stairs. "I'll go take a look."
"Make it 1,000 and a Pizza! I haven't ate anything good the past week!" She grins as she summons a flock of parakeets.
"I cooked you pasta yesterday." He closes the door.
"That's Different!" They launch at the Demons and explode on impact.

Luke steps outside, he sees a massive Demon holding a car with the woman inside. He throws a rock at it. It turns around and sees Luke reading a newspaper. "Wind." The car is knocked out the Demons hand as a gust of wind gently places the car down. "Ignite." The demon is lit on fire and begins to melt. It attempts to punch at Luke. He looks to the wordsearch on the newspaper "Reflect." He crosses it out. A barrier envelops Luke as the force of the punch is sent back at the Demon. It launches into the air as it turns to ash in the sky. He wraps up the newspaper and shoves it in his coat. "Are you alright?"
The woman steps out. "Yes… Thank you."
"Oh yeah, the deal's changed. $1,000 and a Pizza."
"...what…?"
"You heard us."
"A-Alright then."

Luke walks back inside and looks at Lucy sitting on the floor without the energy enveloping her. "I'm hungry…" She whines out.
"I got the Pizza deal."
"Yay! I found the insigma too." She jumps up.
"It's Insignia."

The two look at a summoning symbol etched into the wall. Luke takes out his newspaper. "This is a old symbol. Dad probably sealed something like this ages ago… So why is it reawakened…?"
"Daddy's been here?"
"Who knows." Luke clears his throat and begins speaking in an unknown tongue. The symbol vanishes.

The two step outside. The woman hands them $1,030. "Thank you for your time, but I'm afraid we still need a ride home."
"Oh yes, absolutely."
Luke and Lucy sit in the car together. Lucy falls asleep in her brother's lap.

The two sit in the office building. Lucy lays while pressing on her instrument making random noises. "I'm hungry."
"What do you want? Pizza or Cake?"
"Can we get both?"
"No we can't."
"But I want Both!"
"You can't have both in one day Lucy." She pouts as tears form. "You know that doesn't work on me. Think about if dad saw you like this."
"...Cake…"
Luke stands up. "Let's go then."

The two walk into a restaurant.
Lucy sits down in a Corner Booth as Luke walks up to the front. "You a new worker?" A lady turns around.
"Yeah."
Luke pulls out a card. "I'm a friend of your boss. I'm sure you've heard of us." The waitress looks at the card. "There's usually something special in that fridge, green plaid cloth, can't miss it."
"...? Sorry, I've never heard of you sir. And I was told that was for a special guest."
"I want you to look to your left." She looks at a photo on the wall next to Lucy. A Photo of the two fighting a hoard of demons just outside the restaurant.

"We're the Special Guests."

Luke sits down with Lucy as he places a chocolate fudge cake at the table and hands Lucy a large spoon. He slices himself 1/8th of the cake and hands the rest to Lucy.

Mission 1 New
The two sit in the office. "I'm bored…" Luke pulls out a pair of keys and begins jingling them. Lucy's attention instantly gets grabbed.
"It is strange. This week has been too quiet. Normally we get at least one deal a week"
"What's our name again?"
"... Our brand doesn't have a name does it… let's see…"

He thinks back to a previous client ("You two are the Paranormal Hunters right?")

Lucy chimes in on his thought "The super cool awesome guys."
"No."
"The Devil Hunters?"
"No, Too vague."

The two see a man in a suit and tie walk in. "If it isn't our good friend Arthur. How've you been."
"How's your business? Had to go on a trip but I got a job for you two."

"Arthur! You bring any snacks?"
"Knock yourself out." He goes through his briefcase and throws a large swirly lollipop at Lucy. "Cute kid."

"Cute is one way to put it."
"Come on she's your sister isn't she?"
"She is. Our families pride and joy even if she struggles up here." He taps on his head. The two share a chuckle as Lucy looks to them confused.

Arthur hands a set of documents to Luke. He looks through the photos, purple streaks of energy and flames with demons in the sky burning. "Your business has probably been lacking thanks to this. Any demon spawns have been cut off instantly by some Maniac playing rap music. Granted this is a no pay job, just an investigation."
"When was her last appearance?"
"By the docs at midnight. She's shown up fighting sea demons each night."
"Guess we'll be intercepting her fun then. Hear that Lucy? We got a job to do."

She bites into the lollipop. She starts to tear up "...owkay"
"Did you bite your tongue?"
"Ye…"
"I told you not to bite down so hard." Luke walks to the fridge and pulls out an ice packet.
"Sowwy."
Luke and Lucy walk to the docs in the dead of night. They faintly hear music. A purple flash runs past them and makes a Doppler Effect. It stops standing atop a building "Who are you two?"

"The Comet Twins. Devil Hunters." "She looks so cool!"
"Oh no I'm so scared! You got a problem with me?"
"You've caused thousands in property damage. We aren't the cops but we can't let that go." "Her music is so loud…"
"Make me." She appears behind Lucy with the tip of her sword on her ear. Lucy freezes "Just kidding. That'd be too easy of a kill. I want to have some fun!" She steps away.

Lucy begins to tear up. "She's scary." She clings to her brother.
"... Damn you're just a kid huh?" Her weapon lowers as it transforms into a speaker.
"Lucy… Stay back." Luke pulls out his newspaper and steps in front of Lucy.
"Hey I ain't here to beat up a child." Multiple demons spawn around the three. "I'm just here for these guys. Names Apollya."
"...Luke" They prepare a lunge at the hoard. Apollya flicks her fingers outwards as slashes, mincing the wave in one motion. She transforms her speaker into a greatsword. Luke turns to her She jumps up and slashes a Demon appearing by Luke. The two stand staring at each other. Apollya pulls out a Deagle as Luke pulls an assault rifle from under his coat. They begin to fire at Demons by Lucy.
"Quite the arsenal, color me impressed."
"Do you know where the seal to this spawn is?"
"I don't know and don't care."

Luke dashes to Lucy. "I can fight too!"
"Not now." Lucy pouts at the response.

Apollya begins to fist fight multiple demons, her music emitting from her speaker getting louder with each punch. She begins to shred music on her greatsword, the music bursting out as a shockwave.

They notice an explosion by a storage unit.

They run in, a large centaur with a flowing sword of water, and an insignia behind it. Luke pulls out his newspaper as Apollya appears standing on the blade. "Oh man I would say this feels refreshing but it's swamp water." She jumps on its head before cracking up the music. She dodges multiple demons as she dances across the head. She leaps up, her blade transforms into a katana. Her body transforms into a Devil. She slashes directly downwards, the centaur cut clean in half without a trace of blood.
Luke looks at her as the body falls. "(A Devil Trigger?!)"

She de-transforms.

Luke seals the insignia.

Apollya looks to Lucy and back to Luke "Hey she's a demon too right?"
"If she is?"
"How bout I go at her?"
"No."
"Come on, she said she wanted to fight."
"Against Demons, not another person."
"You're not going to let her fight? You're a bad father." Luke gets visibly angered at the remark. Apollya begins jumping away.
"HEY!"
They both take a step forward only to stop.

"Can we got home now?"
Luke sighs "Yeah."

They sit in the office a day later. They hear a knock.

"It's Arthur. Open up I know you're both in there."

Luke slowly creaks the door open. "Not today."

They hear another voice. "Too Bad!" Apollya kicks the door open sending Luke flying. Lucy juts up, grabbing Luke and moving him away

"Calm down." She pulls out a large box. "I brought Pizza." The two stand hesitantly. "Listen, I say we got off on the wrong foot. Let's all sit down and talk with monocles while sipping tea." She places it on the desk and grabs a slice. "This guy told me a bit about you. Children of Akuma?"
"..."
"My father was a demon who worked under Akuma. He was his right hand man. He started a family too, just like what you got. I have a mother and dad not too far from here."
"And your dad hasn't said anything about your absences?"
"He said someone needs to clean up the rouges."

Luke looks to Arthur "Why is she here?"

Lucy looks to Luke "Can I have a slice?" Luke walks to the Pizza and hesitantly moves to grab a slice.

Apollya pulls out her Desert Eagle to his head. Everyone freezes in shock. She puts it back. "Nah I'm fucking with you."

Lucy shouts. "THAT'S NOT FUNNY!"
"Your faces are priceless, pretty funny to me."

Luke grabs the slice and tosses it to Lucy.

"She wants to work with you."

"Listen, I get my hands dirty, you seal demons. It'd be perfect. All I ask is If I could crash by your place."
"What about your parents?"
"They're a bore. Love 'em, but a bore. This place seems funner, and empty as hell." She begins looking around.
"We'll think about it once you stop with the property damage and stop putting guns to peoples heads."
"Deal." She leaves the room

Arthur looks at the two. "I still got a jo-
"NO!!!!!!!!" Lucy shoos him away.
"Fine. No need to be so loud about it." Arthur walks out.

Lucy hugs her brother. "She's scary."
"I know."

Mission 2 New
The two look at their client.
"There have been demons spawning. They haven't attacked anyone yet but I've seen them on the cameras during closing."

"Lucy what should the pay be?" Luke looks at Lucy making noises on her Synthesizer.
"Bunny Stories!"
"Mind if we take some books… maybe indefinitely."

"That's fine."

Luke looks through books inside a library. "... Peek-a-Boo With Fluffy Bunny. This'll be good to add to the collection." He pockets it and begins walking further through the library. He walks to another section. "(Would it be fantasy?)".

He finds a book, the tale of Akuma. He looks to the back-cover, an insignia. "Someone's placing these demon spawns… but who?" He seals the book and places it back.

He hears something behind himself, a demon with a sword poking his side. He jumps back. The demon opens his mouth. It's shot in the head by a rifle. Luke walks away. The mission passed by without issue.

He sits with Lucy. Luke leans back in his chair "...I need something to get around this place faster. It takes too long to get to the library by foot."
"A Motorcycle!"
"...maybe… but I don't know where I'd get one"

Luke sits in the office spinning in his chair. "No bites for the whole week…"
"Did you rename the shop?"
"Yeah. We're officially the Comet Hunters."
"Can I spin in the chair?"
"Sure."

Lucy begins spinning in the Chair. "Weeeee!"
Luke sits at the side, typing away at his laptop. "...How much is a motorcy-… $10,000?!"
"?"
"There's no way we could afford that…" He hunches over with his hands over his head.
"Aw…" Lucy stops spinning. The two sit in silence. "I thought you said everything was cheap?"
"I did…"
"How much do we get? I wanna know."

"Well…
Our average payout for a day is $1,000, a week if we're unlucky…
$155 for electricity
$54 for water
$45 for the landline
$300 on groceries…"
"Isn't that every month? When you get sad over the mail."
"Yes but we also need to take out money for property damage if there's any." Luke gets up. "I'll be out for today, hold down the shop while I'm gone. There's pizza in the fridge."
"Okay!"

Luke walks out.

He stands inside a Library. Dead silence fills the air. He finds the book, the Tale of Akuma.

He leans by the shelf and reads.

Long ago, in ancient times, a demon rebelled against his own kind for the sake of the human race. With his staff, he shut the portal to the demonic realm and sealed the evil entities off from the human world. He was soon trapped, protecting the human world. He left his stories for us to hear. Across Generations these words have been kept and while some believe they have lost meaning and are nothing more than a fairy tale, many devoted to him have kept his spirit alive. I made this book to tell his tales lost to time and to keep his legend alive for others to read, either to seek knowledge or if they're bored. -Marcel Ania

Okay here's the TL;DR version for people who skim through books instead of actually reading them. I know what you are, you won't even read past page 5. Prior to his rebellion, Akuma was said to be the most powerful demon sorcerer and served his Dark Emperor, the name being unknown. For the sake of this book let's call him Ice. At some point the human and demon worlds became linked, he saw the tyranny and injustice the Ice caused and rebelled, fighting to save humanity. Akuma defeated Ice, sealing him away, and what was left of the Dark Emperor's armies retreated back into the demon world. His activities over the next thousand years are shrouded in legend, though it is understood that for a time after defeating Ice, he lived amongst humans before eventually vanishing. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Luke puts the book in his coat, he notices someone next to him. "Hello, you're Luke right?"
"Yes. You're the client from a few days ago."
"Yes, I just wanted to say you don't need to hide taking any books, you're free to take as many as you wish. After all, you saved this place."
"Thank you."
"So what are you reading?"
"I noticed this book had a demon insignia on it. It was the book of Akuma and I figured I should take a closer look at it."
"You're interested in those tales?"
"Yes."
"How come?"
"Well as a Devil Hunter I feel it is my responsibility to understand these types of stories for future hunts."
"I see. Well, enjoy reading."
"I will."

He continues his read as he walks on the street.

Akuma, while his story may be one of defiance from his own kind, wasn't the first, he was a very unoriginal demon. The first was The Legendary Dark Knight Sparda. In a comparison of their powers even Akuma said he would stand no chance.

"The Legendary Dark Knight Sparda? I've never heard of that before… Guess I need to find another book for him."

He also vanished from the Human world if you were wondering.

He opens the door to his office as he puts the book in his pocket. He looks up seeing Apollya sitting in the chair and Lucy eating pizza. "What are you doing here? And get out of that chair."
She gets out and taps her finger on documents on the table. "Here." Luke picks up the documents. "Can't seal any of these places but it's closed off now. I'm sure you know what I'm asking."
"Alright. Come on Lucy."

She bolts up.

The three stand in a road tunnel closed off. They walk inside, soaked in blood. "You fought demons here?"
"No, I had a chat with them and told them to leave."

They look to an insignia. "It's strange. These are always placed in such odd locations. Say Apollya, have you ever heard of the Dark Knight Sparda?"
"Him?" They notice a demon appear behind them, swiftly shot in the head by a deagle. "That's an old fairy tale. Why?"
"Does your father know him?"
"Nope. I don't think he's ever said a lick about him. I'll ask him though, why?"
"I've honestly never heard about him until now."
"Damn, you call yourself hunters and don't even bother learning about demons? You're stupid."

They hear someone behind them "The Dark Knight Sparda?" They turn around, a man with long white hair covering his eyes and a large grin plastered on his face wearing a red jacket without a shirt. "Now I don't want to make this harder than it should be but…" He pulls out a pair of dual pistols and points them at Apollya and Lucy. "Leave."

Luke and Apollya step up. "Who are you?"
"Me?"

He appears behind Apollya and shoots her in the back multiple times before any of them can turn around. She falls to the floor. The man summons a Sword and stabs down into her chest before pulling out a shotgun and blowing her back out. Her body begins regenerating. "You… BASTARD!" She enters her devil trigger and slashes the man's arm off. He grabs her by the neck with the other and forcefully pulls her sword out her hand before turning to Luke with his newspaper out, he slashes it in half before stabbing the hilt into Apollya.

"Come on. You're not a fighter. You're a librarian."

Luke turns to Lucy frozen in horror. "LUCY RUN!"
She nods before turning around and running.

Apollya grabs her sword and jumps away with Luke. The two pull out their guns, Apollya appearing behind the man as the two unleash their firearms.

"ROYAL GUARD!" He covers both his hands in red energy as the bullets fall to the ground on contact. "TRICKSTER!" He warps behind Apollya with Magic. "GUNSLINGER!" Apollya turns around to see the man holding a bazooka in his hand. He fires a large beam of energy down the tunnel. "TRICKSTER!" He elbows Luke across the face before slamming him into the wall with his missing hand as a demon one. Luke stabs the man in the heart with a hatchet. "… clever." He pulls out his blade as small red daggers stab into Luke, pinning him to the wall. "You know, I see what you're capable of, but only when you're hiding behind paper. Otherwise this is just pathetic." Apollya begins cranking her music up.

The man spreads his arms out. "Names Dante. Devil Hunter." He pulls out a purple electric guitar. "And if you want to have a music battle then let's Rock!" He plays notes on it, the two clashing with Dante soon overpowering.

Luke breaks free as Apollya is sent flying in his direction. He catches her. "Throw me!"
Luke throws her up, her feet press into the ceiling as charges her strength upside down. She dashes to Dante, slashing through him and cutting the tunnel in half directly down the center.

Dante freezes before falling on one knee. He breaths heavily as a wound gashes down his chest. "You're good." His body begins to dissipate into shadow. He fades away.

The two look to what's left. Apollya exits her Trigger. Luke looks to the rocket launcher. He picks it up. They hear a voice down the tunnel. "Hey I didn't say you'd get anything from this!" They hear a loud guitar riff as the Tunnel fills with electricity. Both of them fall to the floor. Dante walks in and grabs their bodies, tossing them out the tunnel, their bodies tumbling into a Car with Arthur inside.

He leans against the car "I think you're forgetting someone, don't want to leave a child on the streets do you?" Arthur presses on the gas and moves as fast as he can away. Dante crosses his arms. "Well at least one of them is ready."

Luke sits in the car covering his wounds as Lucy hugs him tightly while crying.
"So he attempts to blow me up with a shotgun and all YOU have are a few cuts?"
"I think he knew how much we could withstand. His attacks never punctured me and the only time it did it didn't go far. It felt like he binded me to the wall instead of stabbing straight through my arms. Meanwhile you can regenerate so he brutally shot you. He didn't even bother touching Lucy… He outclassed us in every way and knows us inside out from the looks of it."
"Alright. You, Me, Lucy. We're going to start training."
"We're injure-"
"Don't be a dumbass, you're going to let him humiliate you? I know I'm not. Come on. That newspaper is garbage, especially if I can get torn to shreds like that." Lucy grabs the halves and crumples it in her hands. She opens them to a repaired paper. "The point still stands."

Mission 3 New
A man walks into a bar in the dead of night, rain pouring off of him, a large long case on his back. He confidently walks to the front, everyone around him staring. He sits down and looks at the bartender. He gives a smile "Hello! How's your business goin?"
The bartender looks at him before going to a shelf. "The Usual?"
"You know it!"
"Are you going to pay this time?"
"You know I would if I could!"
"Wipe that damn smile off your face. You haven't paid for squat since a month ago."
"Well you see…"
"And yet you just keep coming… Over and Over every night. You keep saying you'z busy but I don't see it!"
"If you need me to-"
"HOW'Z BOUT YOU GET THE FUCK OUTA HEAR TILL YOU PAY UP!" The bartender throws a glass past him.

Luke opens the door to the bar, his hands covered in bandages. He catches the glass in his hand as he looks around. He closes the door. He walks to the front and sits by the Man. "How about I offer you a drink?"
"No thank you, I should take my leave."
"I insist."
"...Very well."
"What do you normally order?"
"It's a special drink
Rim the glass with lime and sea salt and fill the glass with ice.
Half a Ounce of Tequila, Blue curacao, Gin, Rum, Simple syrup, Lime juice
And fourth of an ounce of Everclear 190 and Kirsch."
"Sounds a bit dangerous don't you think? Oh well, you heard him."

The bartender begins fuming as he walks away mumbling swears.

Luke sits by the man. "Gotta Name?"
"Mars."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Luke."
"Pleasure to meet you Luke."

Luke begins to swirl a leftover glass of ice "So… You ever heard of demons around these parts? Heard this place was a prime spot. They love to hide in the dark."
"Demons? I've seen a few. Why?"
"What do you use to run?"
"Run? Ha! I face them head on!"
"Oh?"
"Those toothpicks don't stand a chance against me!" He pats his large chest.
"..." Luke glances at him with a side eye.

The bartender comes back with the glass. "18 Bucks."
Luke slides some money on the counter. "How do you fight back?"
"I could ask the same to you. You're quite the small man." He begins to chug the glass.
"Are you sure you aren't just the big one?"
"HA! Maybe so!" He begins a large laugh as he slams the glass down. "How about you get a drink?"
"I don't do alcohol. I heard demons pry on the people that get wasted."
"Really? I've been drunken for hours and I've never been hurt ONCE!"
"Impressive."
"So why are you really here? You clearly have something to say."
"... There have been… stories… about a Drunken Behemoth setting alleyways on fire. I've been told he sits out by bars and drinks his heart out before wreaking havoc."
"Sounds weird…" Mars looks away. He gets up. "Thank you for the drink but I'll be leaving now."
Luke gets up. "I'll escort you to where you need to go. Shouldn't let a drunk man go out on his lonesome."
"I appreciate it but I would be able to go home myself."
"I insist."
"… a strange request. Very Well. Let us depart."

The two walk out the bar, Mars leading the way. They hear a shriek nearby. Mars runs towards it, Luke trailing behind. A demon stands in front of a woman. It turns around as it feels a stone hit its back. It looks to Mars and runs towards him. The drunken man's hand begins to be engulfed in fire. He punches into the demon's chest, the flames bursting out. Luke looks at him in shock. Mars walks to the woman. "Are you alright Miss?"
"Yes… Thank you."
"There is no need to thank me. You should go home, it's dangerous at night." He helps her up.

The woman runs off. Mars turns to Luke. "Now, where were we?" He gives a large smile.
"...Continue leading the way." They notice other demons drop down.
"Can you defend yourself?"
"I can."
"Good." Mars grabs a demon by the head, slamming one into another and spinning both at a third. He slams his case into a demon, the items fling out, a Blood Red Trident and a M1918. He holds the trident with both hands as he grips the gun by his teeth. He swings, lighting his trident's tips in flames and cuts through all the demons effortlessly in only a minute.
"(...His physical prowess is shocking, even if he is a half-demon none of them would ever have enough strength to pull this off…)"

He looks to Luke as he packs his items. "Let us continue." They walk to an apartment. "Thank you kind sir, but this is my stop."
Luke begins walking away. "Alright, have a good night."
Mars stops as he looks to the building "...On second thought. Care to join me for a little while longer?"
"... One moment then." Luke pulls out an old, worse-for-wear flip-phone.

Lucy lays in bed pouting. She hears the ring of their desk phone. She bursts out of bed and picks up. "Hello, Comet Twins here! We not open right now but-"
"Hey Lucy."
"YOU SAID YOU WERE GUNNA READ ME MY-"
"I know. Please just wait a bit longer, okay."
"HMPH!" She slams the phone down shut.

They look at an apartment room, a bed, small kitchen, tv, couch, and bottles of alcohol everywhere. "Please take a seat wherever you like."
Luke pushes bottles off the sofa and sits. He looks at the still drunken man hurdling onto the bed. "So, what do you do for a living?"
"... I am… under certain circumstances and unable to get a job."
"...Certain Circumstances?"
"It is too much to get into… What about you?"
"... Devil Hunters."
"I see… Must be quite a line of work."
"Yeah… If only we had more people to take the work off…" He purposefully leans back and looks up to the dingy ceiling. "You want to join?"
"Me? I'm afraid I-
"Your living environments not the best… From how the fridge is half-broken and all the bottles… You couldn't pay the bartender. I can assume you run low on cash…"
"What is with all the harsh criticism? Is this how you treat a host?"
"No. But to you I'm making an exception." He stands up. "You do a mission, a day's worth of work if and when we get it. It's Usually a grand at least. It'd be all yours."
Mars looks away hesitantly. "Fine."

The two shake hands.

Luke walks out. "See you later." He flicks a card to Mars. He catches it and looks at the Number and Address.

A demon stands, looking to a pile of corpses and blood towered 10 feet above him. He looks through the infrastructure of hell badly damaged. "And what do we have here?" He swings his cane, the bodies disintegrating instantly in a flash of blue. A human drops down and lands its feet, cloaked in rags and hiding its face.
"Who are you?"
"I'm the one asking questions. Tell me why you killed all those demons?"
"I do not need to say." It pulls out a scythe of white energy "Are you going to try and kill me too?"
He flicks his cane as the Scythe shatters into shards of energy. The shards change color as they bind the Demon in Rags.
"I told you, you answer to me."
"Why should I?"
"Because I am the ruler of hell. Now tell me before I slice you in half with your own weapon." He flexes his energy, the already cracked structure around them begins to fall.

The human stands silently. "If you are the ruler then why do you let demons out to that other world?"
"What my job is isn't for the ones who escape, it's for the ones who cause trouble in my domain. You've been killing here for a Long time I assume and that's a issue."
"Because one of them tried to kill me."
"Tell me, Why is that?"
"I do not know."
"It's cause you look like a human."
"A human?"
"Don't be dense. Every demon knows what a human is."
"I do not."
"Were you Born yesterday?"
"I do not remember my creation." It breaks out and extends its hands, attempting to slash at the Demon King. He slams his cane down as a barrier surrounds him. It grabs the barrier as a white stream of energy absorbs it. The demon kicks it away and points its cane, encasing its lower half in ice. A gust of wind flies up, taking off the hood. A girl with messy damaged long white hair in a wolf cut and radiant pink eyes, dried blood stains her blank expression.
"Quite the interesting ability you have. Tell me, Did you enjoy killing all those demons?"
She remakes her scythe and binds it to her flesh, shattering the ice. "To take their power is something I enjoy." She swings at the demon, each attack parried with end of the cane.
"Well since you already look like a human how about you go to their world? You can absorb as many demons as you want and I won't bat a eye."

She stops attacking and jumps back. "...?"
"You'll become a Devil Hunter. If you see any demons in the human world you can kill them and take them. You can take as many as you want and add them to your power. That is what you're after right?"
"I am not after anything."
"Every demon has a carnal desire. You are no different. You just said you enjoy taking their power."
"I take it because they keep coming stronger and stronger. It is only a afterthought that it feels the way it does. The feeling and reason are not combined."
"Then what are you after?"
"I do not know."
"A demon without a purpose huh? Then allow me to give you one."
"Why should I let you decide for me?"
"Because If I let you stay here you'll keep piling bodies. You must understand that I am quite the busy man." A large portal grows underneath them as the two reappear standing atop a large building in the dead of night. The girl looks to the demon, now in a different appearance. The man walks to the edge of the building, Long black spiked hair with frosted blue tips and wearing a black leather longcoat, his right eye pierced shut. He walks with the cane in his hand. "What? You've really never seen a human before?"
"But you are a demon, why do you look so different now?"
"You think I can walk around as a demon? You have a lot to learn."
"Why should I-
"Stop questioning me for three seconds and listen." He steps off as the other does the same. They begin to walk down the street. "Humans and Demons do not have the greatest relationship. Demons kill Humans and Humans run from demons, but there are a few that fight for the sake of the defenseless. They are called Devil Hunters. They protect those who cannot protect themselves." They notice a Alleyway suddenly burst into fire before quickly being extinguished. They look to it and see Mars standing alone.

He turns to them. "Who are you?"
The man steps up and blocks the Girl with his cane. "Just a few demons, don't mind us. We were wondering something, why are you killing demons?"
"Why? Did you know them?" He looks to the nonexistent aftermath.
"Nah, demons don't know each other. I just want to know."
"Well I normally do it to protect the innocent, in this case however I suppose it could be training."
"Don't you already have enough muscle?"
"It is not about my muscle, it is about having strength for stronger and stronger foes."
"I see. Thank you for your time."

The two walk away. "There's a Library not too far from here, It's down this street, take a left, go forward about 20 buildings and take a right and you'll see it."
"What?"
"You can go there and learn up." He taps his cane on her shoulder, her rags change to a full outfit, Now wearing a white double-breasted trench coat fastened by four buttons on the left side. She has a black belt with a large buckle around his waist, slightly baggy white pants, and white boots with furry blue liners. A pink scarf wraps around her neck. "A little gift so you fit in better. And Don't try anything stupid." A portal suddenly forms under him as he vanishes.

She begins to walk in silence. She walks to the entrance of the library. She walks to the door. She looks to the handle and turns it, locked. She walks to a nearby window and shatters it jumping through. She begins to walk through the library. She suddenly stops. "(I cannot see in the dark like this…)" She jumps back out through the window and starts to walk. She stands aimlessly as she looks up at the night sky, pitch darkness meeting her eyes. "This is certainly a better view than the other world."

She continues to walk, nothing in sight.

She looks to the sun rising, people beginning to roam the streets. She passes by them quietly walking back to the library and looking at a note on the door. Closed due to Break In investigation.

"I said don't try anything stupid!" A cane suddenly swings down from above her head, she grabs it before it can make contact as it is pulled out of her reach. The demon grabs a piece of glass pointing out of her shoulder and pulls it out, the wound and cloth regenerating and rematerializing. "Follow me." The demon turns around and starts walking, the girl following after him.

Light rain starts to fall down the streets. They walk into a diner and sit down next to a Photo of the Comet Twins. "So how does the Human world look?"
"Better than the other world."
"Good, have you learned anything?"
"I was going to but the library was closed."

A waitress walks up to them. "Hello, what would you two like to order?"
"Waffles for Two."
"Anything Else"
"A Coffee With Whipped Cream, In a cup to go."
"Got it."
The Waitress walks away.

The man checks his wallet. The two receive their food. "My children used to love the waffles at this place. Granted they've moved onto other sweets."
The girl grabs her fork, cutting in and stabbing down. She puts it into her mouth and chews. "... It is too sweet."
"Maybe so, can't waste perfectly good food though."
"I can."
"Come on, someone puts food for you then you've gotta respect it."
"I am not even hungry." Her stomach growls. The man looks to her in silence. "It is still too sweet." The two continue eating. They pay and leave.

They stand outside an office building. "Go somewhere else. I have something to attend to." The man pulls out a key from his pocket as the woman walks away. He begins shoving the key and failing to open the door, cursing under his breath. He slams his shoulder, unlodging something.

He sees Apollya and Lucy sitting by the office desk eating pizza.
Lucy's eyes widen. "Daddy!"
Apollya almost falls out of the main chair. "WHAT?!"

Akuma laughs. "You know me?" He places the coffee down at the table.
She gains her balance "What's the ruler of the underworld doing here?"
"I'm here to drop off some coffee, take a look around… nothing much…" He turns around and walks away.

"..."
"... My dad's so cool!"

Akuma looks to where the woman was, gone. "...Quite the Runaway huh?" He jumps up and looks down from the rooftops, seeing the Girl stabbing a demon into a wall by the alleyway. She grabs it by the face and begins to disintegrate it, the body turning to energy and flowing through her fingers into her body. She stands as she desummons her scythe. He drops down. "I didn't mean for you to go and piss off in a alleyway!" He looks to her with a angered expression.
"You said you would not have a problem with this."
"Start killing on your own time. If you're going to act like this then-"

Footsteps echo behind them. "What are you doing here?"
Akuma turns around seeing Luke holding a book in his hands. "No warm welcome for your father?"
"I don't have a father."
"What If I was your mother?"
"I lost my mother years ago."
Akuma's face grows bitter and annoyed. "I didn't even do anything. Where's this grudge from?"
"I don't hold a grudge. Maybe I'm just in my rebellious phase."
"You're 22."
"23."
"One year off, My memory is bad. Lived for thousands of years"
"How old is Lucy?"
"18"
"But you got that right. Who's that?" Luke points to the Girl.
"I'll tell you later. We're in a little bit of a rush."
"For what?"
"Oh you know… things…"
"... Fine."

Luke walks away as the Two do the same.

Luke looks at the cup on the office desk. "...I don't even drink coffee..."
