My computer's peripherals are getting pretty damn old and are gonna need to be changed soon. However, I don't know much about that stuff.

SO, I'm here to ask for help. Sound system, monitor and mouse are the things that are dying on me (the keyboard is still good, thankfully), anyone could advise me on what replacement to buy that won't die on me in less than a year (my current mouse's scrolling wheel began to malfunction in a mere 6 months) while not costing an arm and a leg, please ?

Depends on what you have available in your country/city and how much dust they're exposed to in the case of keyboard and mouse and monitor screen.

Where I live, which is in Central America, Manhattan peripherals have worked very well with me, though i need bigger-sized mouses due to hand size. So, a Klipxtreme mouse that fit my hands, Manhattan keyboard, and I still own a good set of Genius sound speakers I bought back in 2000.

As for monitors? Samsung's LCD monitors from late 2010's should work properly if cared for with battery backup systems to avoid them burning out as well as protect your desktop rig. I still own one, alongside a Westinghouse LED TV/Monitor I bought back in 2016 and was already discontinued by then.

This said, the more 'smart' the monitor/tv, the more frail it'll be. Seek out LCD screens instead if feasible. If not, battery backup systems to avoid them burning out from brown noise in the electric supply.

It all comes down to brands, as I've not seen Genius products here in a long time, instead there being some Chinese generic stuff available.

If push comes to shove, invest in a wire extension female/male to have a connection to at least use headphones and monitor the volume via system operation plus headphones volume control. I also prefer Klipextreme ones as they've lasted me since 2016 as well.
