Crawling through grass, bushes and vines is a blonde-haired boy dressed like an explorer, with a brown bag at his side, he's dressed in tan shorts, brown boots, a vest with a lot of pockets and a red watch on his wrist. Behind him crawls his best friend Heracross, complaining about how he wants to be in front.

"Relax buddy, we're almost there." The dark-haired boy named Don said, tumbling out of the wooden tunnel to see the inside of the tree.

"Woah" He said looking around. Inside the tree was an entirely separate ecosystem.

It was like a separate world trapped inside the tree. On the outside it looked big, but it was wider on the inside, by a lot. The thick walls of the tree surrounded the entire area, making the mini world exist surrounded by light brown walls.

Vines and moss adorned the circular wooden walls, and from them sprouted more trees, this time berry trees. The berry trees grew sidewards out of the wooden walls and massive vives hung down from the top, where many Pokémon made homes. Some of them were on the vine while others carved out chucks of the vine to nest inside of.

The subtle smell of fresh berries and fallen leaves tickled Don's nose. The air was fresh and felt like a blessing to breathe.

A massive layer of leaves covered the floor he was standing on, several piles of leaves stacked up high. Sunlight filtered in from the top of the tree, rays shining down onto the floor.

A lake in the middle that was big enough for all the Pokémon. The water was crystal clear and had some leaves that gently floated on top. The bottom of the lake had glittered with items, from rocks and gems to jewellery and coins. All of it makes the lake glow enchantingly.

Enjoying the water were a group of Lotad's floating around a Lombre that was lying on its back in the middle. At the edge, a Ludicolo was talking to a couple of Sawsbuck. Deerling's were running around the lake's edge just enjoying life.

Butterfree and Beedrill were flying around, and their pre-evolutions were visible everywhere. He saw a few Bulbasaur and Smoliv's running around under the watch of a Venusaur. The Venonats and Venomoths seemed to have claimed their own area, near where the Victreebel was looking over its own young. To his right, he saw a Wurmple fight a Ledyba for the last Pecha berry on a tree.

A few Beautifly, Dustox and Venomoth prancing through the sky with some of the Butterfree and surprisingly passive Beedrill.

"Heracross!"

"Eevee"

They looked around, with Don taking in the sight of an entire Pokémon ecosystem existing inside a tree.

It didn't take long for Eevee to get bored jumping into a pile of leaves and roll around in it, attracting the attention of a few Bulbasaur's and Bellsprouts that jumped in with it playing around.

Don and Heracross let out a chuckle seeing this, before Heracross started looking around and Don took out a notebook and started writing various notes about the environment while taking pictures. Heracross looked out for any Pokémon, not appreciating their presence, looking out for any threats, even in this peaceful setting.

Hearing a large swoop, they saw a massive Butterfree fly down towards them. She was bright pink with red eyes, its wings glowed pink and green, making an intricate pattern. It made Don wonder what purpose the pattern served. Why do some Pokémon have patterns on their wings? He'd have to ask Grandpa.

"Butterfree!"

"WOW!" Don exclaimed, his eyes shining bright and a giant smile stretched across his face. "That's one huge Butterfree."

Heracross put its arms behind his head, chilling out next to the excited Don, but a sharp gleam entered its eyes.

The Butterfree landed and Don measured she was at least three times as tall as him, and just her wingspan was humongous. Don took a calming breath. It's the boss of this area. He has to make a good first impression.

"Hi, I'm Don. We found a hole in a tree and crawled through it. We ended up here, and this place is wonderful!" He said, twirling around gesturing to everything. The Butterfree made a joyful cry, glad someone likes their home. On the inside, Don was cheering. He nailed it.

"Can I ask, how did all this happen?" Don asked, gesturing to, well, everything.

The Butterfree sat and put Don in her lap, patting his head while shaking her own.

"Is it because you can't say-" getting another head shake he continued "Ah, so you don't know either." He got a head bop then. This place must've been around for a while then.

Don then asked the Giant Pokémon various yes or no questions, writing the answers in his Murkrow notepad, before asking to take pictures with the Butterfree.

Carefully getting the shots, Don made sure to get multiple angles, hoping to figure out just how the Butterfree got so big. Was it a king gene? Was the Butterfree an alpha? He's seen an Alpha Butterfree, and this one was bigger.

An Alpha with a king gene? Or was there something about this unique environment?

Don, Heracross, Eevee and a bunch of other Pokémon had a photoshoot, taking everything from timer group photos to selfies. Of course, this ended up as a game of who can do the silliest face. They spent an hour there under the watch of the elder Pokémon playing with Pokémon.

Don will forever question his ability in rock, paper, scissors after a Bellsprout beat him ten times in a row.

Or maybe she was cheating? Somehow.

Eventually, Don's curiosity about what the higher levels were like got the better of him. Trying to find the vine with the least houses to climb and hopefully not annoy anyone on the way.

Apparently, his intentions were too obvious. He felt a pat on his head, making him turn around, looking up at the giant Butterfree, who offered her back to climb. Instead of climbing, he was flying on the back of a Butterfree. A wide smile broke out on his face, and he couldn't hide the joy in his eyes, making some of the older Pokémon laugh.

"Butter Butterfree"

Eevee climbed to Don's shoulder and cheered. Don and Heracross climbed on top of the giant Butterfree's back. It was silky smooth, surprising Don with how it looked more shiny and glistening the closer he was.

With one flap, they were taking off into the air of the tree world. The nests grew wider and wider the higher up the vines they went. The berry trees also got bigger and so did the berries.

Looking at the largest nest they've seen so far, he saw a Ledian twice the size of a human wave at them. Don waved back, unaware of the smile full of joy and wonder. The Ledian let out a laugh, smiling back. He went and grabbed an oran berry twice as big as it into its home.

They rose higher, going quicker, but slow enough that Don could make out all the details of the vine nests and trees. Making a mental note to write all this down.

Heracross was behind him to make sure Don or Eevee didn't fall off while looking at something.

They finally reached the top of the tree, completely covered by giant and small leaves, forming a protective dome over the tree world. Yet sunlight still made it through, illuminating the entire place with no problems.

Landing inside the nest of the Butterfree, inside were all kinds of shiny stones and interesting plants. The vine's hollowed out insides were spacious, even for Butterfree. The floor was solid and the walls smooth decorated with things Butterfree found, some of them inside tree world, some of them outside.

But what took the centre of attention were the eggs that Butterfree went to lie over. They weren't any different from other Pokémon eggs, meaning whatever made Butterfree so big didn't pass on to her children.

"You're gonna be a Mom!" Don said excitedly sitting beside Butterfree as Eevee jumped off him to land on Butterfree's head.

"Butterfree!!" She exclaimed, getting a laugh from Eevee who started chatting with her.

"Eevee vee."

"Butterfree."

Heracross sat down and looked at the side where some mushed berries sat, taking a berry big enough that he could probably live in. He started mashing it, making food for the newborns. Butterfree gave him a happy chirp that made Heracross feel great inside.

They sat there and talked to Butterfree for an hour, until they heard a cracking sound. Butterfree stood up and grabbed her eggs, forgetting everything else. Eevee jumped from her back onto Don, staring at the event.

Don and Eevee stood transfixed. They'd never seen a Pokémon hatch before. The eggs cracked little pieces falling to the floor as tiny little heads of Caterpie popped out clamouring towards their mom. Butterfree started crying, snuggling close to her young, keeping them in her embrace.

It made Don almost choke up, seeing Butterfree being such a loving mom. He felt like crying himself.

Heracross grabbed one of the giant leaves and put the mash berry on it, picking it up and heading towards the crying mother.

Butterfree waddled to the berry mush, letting the Caterpie eat their fill. Heracross laughed, seeing how much mush he made and how little the Caterpie ate.

Butterfree held the full Caterpie close, seeing them fall asleep in her arms. She cried again. The tears just wouldn't stop pouring out. Don, Heracross and Eevee went in close, hugging the new mother, who wrapped her wings around them before returning the hug.

After a while Butterfree tilted her head up away from the newborns and walked forwards offering them her back again. Climbing on them, they quickly found themselves gliding towards the ground.

"BUTTERFREE!" she called out, getting the attention of all the Pokémon that crowed around them. The giant Ledian came down, everyone moving out of the way, letting it land beside them.

When Don and his Pokémon climbed off, joining the rest of the Pokémon watching the babies. But it was about time they left.

"Hey Butterfree, congratulations, you're going to be the best mom ever."

"Heracross Hera" he said, nodding at his words.

"Eevee" she cheered

Butterfree's wing bent and curved to rub their heads. "Butterfree free" she thanked them.

"But it's about time we go home. We'll come visit again soon, okay?" Don said part of him wanting to stay.

"Butterfree" she nodded, a little sad, but understanding.

The Pokémon around them parted, letting them leave and go towards the entrance they climbed from. Looking back, he could see some of the Pokémon bring down giant berries and start dancing, turning the entire event into a party.

With a chuckle, Don and Pokémon crawled through the tree tunnel, going back to town with new information to look at and study for Don's eventual goal of being a Pokémon Professor. One who can go all over the world and see all the unique places Pokémon live.

Because Don's true goal is to figure out everything the world has to offer.

These days have always filled Samuel Oak with a dose of excitement and tiredness at the same time. He looks at the picture of his family on his desk, Him and his grandkids. Of the three in the picture, only two of them lived with him. Today he gets to see his grandson, one that takes after him. He also has to see his ex-wife.

The thought of her still makes him feel love and grief in his heart. Two war heroes fighting not only in their homeland, but across all the regions, an unstoppable duo. Those were his glory days, but also the time he hated the most. Peace was welcomed for his weary mind.

It was what came after that he could truly say he loved starting a family. That was the best time in Samuel's life. He would do anything if he could get his children back.

The best he could do now is to be there for his grandkids, give them all they need and don't neglect them. Help Gary with his dream of being champion, help Daisy with her goal of becoming a world renowned Co-ordinator and help Don with his dream of being a Professor.

It made him chuckle. His kids weren't ambitious in the slightest, but his grandkids want to be the best of the best.

"Gary! Daisy! You ready" he shouted out. Hearing the loud footsteps of his grandkids rushing around upstairs.

"GIVE IT!"

He saw Gary rush down the stairs, his Eevee by his side smirking mischievously. Gary's spiky head was still never changing to this day, dressed in his favourite purple shirt and sprinting with a black headband with a blue gem surrounded by clear white crystal in his hand.

Before he could get any further ribbons wrapped around his legs and torso, Gary tossed the headband, his Eevee grabbing it midair.

Only that was a trap, a Sylveon jumped down from the second floor landing on the Eevee pinning it to the ground. Daisy rushed down, stepping on Gary and getting her headband.

"Gary what the f-"

"Ahem!"

"Fudge? Err, uh, what do you even want with this?" Daisy said, looking down at her brother, dressed in a yellow dress she picked out while shopping with her grandmother. Clutching the expensive gift she got for her 10th birthday and wore ever since.

Gary gave her a sly smile, looking over at the old man. "Hey grandpa, I brought her down," he said with a wide smile, seeing the look of realisation on Daisy's face.

"What!"

"Great, we're all here. Let's go," Samuel said, clapping his hands together, his Alakazam showing up next to him.

"Wait! I still need to-" Daisy didn't get to finish before they teleported, right in front of the door of a large house with more than enough room for the three people that live there.

Alakazam neatened them out, everyone standing, clothes all straight. Truly the best household, Pokémon, in his opinion.

"Ahhhhhhhhh"

"Hahahahaha"

Unfortunately, all he heard were screams and cackles of laughter coming from the house. Gary let out a laugh, hearing them while Daisy tried to elbow him to shut up.

Opening the door, he's greeted by the sight of his grandson, Don, screaming for his life while half sunk into the floor in the jaws of a Gengar that was trying to eat him. On the couch sat a cackling old woman, who was laughing at the spectacle.

Dammit Agatha.

Truly the best household, Pokémon, in his opinion.
That sounds kinda wrong but I couldn't point it out exactly.
Other than that cool start. There are surprisingly few pokemon story's that 'simply' seems to celebrate the wonders of both pokemon and people in the Pokemonvers. Hope for more
