I would like to know from just a general discussion what people think would happen if the Genesis trees and the ra-seru were to appear in the fallout earth sometimes around fallout 3 to New Vegas timeline.

I'm curious what people would think about how the factions and world would react.

I'm going on the assumption that the trees would purify radiation but I would love to hear what others think

I'll post what ChatGPT put but community ideas are way better.

That's a fantastic crossover concept. Let's break it down using lore from The Legend of Legaia and the Fallout universe.
🌳 What Genesis Trees Actually Do
In The Legend of Legaia, Genesis Trees:
Purify and stabilize the environment
Dispel the Mist (a corruptive, mutagenic force)
Restore ecosystems
Allow Ra-Seru to exist safely without going berserk
The Mist:
Mutates life
Drives creatures insane
Corrupts ecosystems
Sound familiar?
That's extremely close to what radiation + FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) do in Fallout.
☢️ Could Genesis Trees Cleanse Fallout Radiation?
Short Answer:
Yes — but not instantly, and not completely without adaptation.
Why It Would Probably Work:
Radiation behaves like a supernatural toxin
Genesis Trees purify metaphysical corruption.
Fallout radiation isn't just background rads — it causes grotesque mutation similar to Mist corruption.
The Trees have restored dead forests and poisoned land before.
They restore ecological balance
Fallout's biggest issue isn't just radiation — it's ecological collapse.
Genesis Trees actively rebuild healthy biospheres.
Ra-Seru amplify their power
If bonded to humans (like Vault Dwellers or Wastelanders), Ra-Seru could:
Actively cleanse hot zones
Protect settlements
Possibly neutralize radiation storms
🚫 What Might Not Work
1. FEV Is More Complex Than Mist
FEV isn't just corruption — it rewrites DNA intentionally.
The Trees might:
Purify uncontrolled mutations (like feral ghouls)
But struggle with stable FEV species (Super Mutants, intelligent ghouls)
They might see them as:
"Adapted life" rather than corruption
Meaning Super Mutants might remain, but no longer mutate further.
2. Nuclear Fallout Is Planet-Wide
In Legaia, there were dozens of Genesis Trees.
In Fallout? You'd likely need:
Hundreds planted across the U.S.
Major ones near:
The Glowing Sea
The Capital Wasteland
The Divide
Without enough coverage, you'd just create safe green zones surrounded by wasteland.
🌱 What Would Happen Over 50–100 Years?
If enough Trees were planted:
Radiation levels would steadily drop
Crops could grow without heavy mutation
Water sources would stabilize
Radstorms might weaken
New forests would form around Tree zones
Animal mutations would decrease
Fallout would slowly shift from:
Grimdark nuclear ruin
to
Strange but livable post-apocalyptic world
More like post-recovery Earth than endless decay.
🔥 Political Consequences
This is where it gets fun.
The Brotherhood of Steel
They'd either:
Try to control the Trees as advanced biotech
Or destroy them if they can't understand them
The Enclave
Would attempt to weaponize Ra-Seru.
NCR / Minutemen
Would guard Tree sites as sacred ecological restoration hubs.
🧬 The Big Twist
If the Trees treat radiation like Mist…
They might also:
Calm feral ghouls
Reverse extreme radiation sickness
Possibly even slowly restore some ghoul tissue
That would fundamentally change Fallout society.
Final Verdict
Yes — Genesis Trees could absolutely begin cleansing the Fallout wasteland.
But:
It would take decades.
It wouldn't instantly erase FEV.
It would create safe ecological sanctuaries first.
The world would slowly transition toward recovery rather than permanent ruin.
