Pretty sure this is "Forging Ahead" by Cliffc999, but the unfortunate reason you can't remember the rest is because the story ends at that point. Forging Ahead

It's got the girl in high school, she develops genius, makes the terraforming effort with the asteroid, joins the spaceship as communication, and then gets the BattleTech stuff right before the end. The only difference is she has the Celestial Forge instead of Inspired Inventor, but all the plot beats are the same, right down to the shadow conspiracy.
 
There's a story I read here that has been stuck in my head for a few hours that I haven't been able to find.

The plot was that some mysterious force gave powers to everyone on the planet, turning them into fantasy races like elves and giving them rpg classes. The protagonist was turned into a dark elf and had a dead wife and one of his love interests was a bunny femboy. I think there was also a brother involved. Any help is appreciated.

The fanfic I'm looking for is a waifu catalog fanfic that starts in equestia girls (the human version of mlp ftienship is magic) and the protagonist's choices for his powers are futuristic and cybernetic themed (let's say a cyberpunk style but not exactly cyberpunk) In fact, I remember that they are going to mlp ftienship is magi to fight with the ponny versions of the waifus. trying to find two percy Jackson stories
first one is that Percy was betrayed and with outside help was turneed into a monster and went back in time one chapter for it was showing the events of the past effecting the present.
the second one was that Percy Jackson was the son of Eros the primordial who got captured by Artemis brought to the other Olympians and was forcibly made the God of Affairs by Zeus
cant remember much about them beyond that or their names.
 
Trying to find a story that I'm starting to think was on QQ, but not certain. I tried Google and other story sites and came up with nada. Shouldn't be NSFW (no sexual content), although there are lots of mentions of suicide/self harm.

It's based in My Little Pony world, but the first chapter is all about a ROB trying to force the main character into an Ieskai adventure, and the main character declining the adventure, resorting to suicide - repeatedly. Their cycle of reincarnation was "gain awareness, commit suicide in record time, get isekai'ed by ROB, repeat" to the point of absurd comedy. Eventually, they stop the cycle as a My Little Pony pony, snapping out of it when they realise were about to commit suicide in front of their new body's child, whose original owner did in fact succeed in hanging themselves and got the MC's soul inserted/revived.

From there on it's mostly comedy/slice of life with the main character habitually prepping for suicide and then stopping, and trying to be a proper mother.

Hi all,

I remember reading this HP Hermione-critical fic about 2 years ago and I really want to reread it.

Anyway, it was set in first year during a Quidditch game, the Hogwarts staff battle Quirrel and defeat him, killing him in the process. Voldemort's spirit escaped and targeted Hermione since she wasn't at the game, and used her to steal the Philosopher's Stone/Ravenclaw's Diadem, which killed her in the process. I don't remember what happened after that.

Any help would be appreciated!
 
There was a Ben 10 story, with "Ben" drinking the Humanity Fuck Yeah essence. I remembered the first chapter showed "Ben" and Gwen sparred in a karate class. He fought the mercenaries Vilgax sent with relative ease. He even gave the hover skate Tetrax gave him to Gwen because he's already had Omnitrix. Its more of a snippet, I think. But I can't remember who wrote it. So... help?

I'm looking for a fanfic about how to train your dragon. What I remember most is that at one point Hiccup was captured by the Romans and they wanted him to teach them how to tame dragons, he escapes with the help of Astreed and the others, in addition to receiving help from the slaves. In his escape and accession to Rome they sing the Cinsajo song (the one from the Hunger Games) I think it was from fanfiction, because at that time I only read fanfics from that page.

Hi, I'm looking for a specific fanfiction that was on Fanfiction.net or Questionable Questing as far as I remember, it was either it's own story or on a snippet thread.

It was a crossover including FATE, Highschool DXD and maybe harry potter, where the main character (either an Oc or Si) runs a magic school, Shiro and Rin become students while Sona and Rias already are.

The main character explains the differences between classes of power and begins to ascend to, I think, Ultimate class.

The first world was either evegalion or naruto

Other worlds was legend of Zelda, frozen, warhammer, HP, masseffect, sao, and finally after when he's trying to break free of constantly helping the Mc and being torn away leaving the Mc supposedly more broken all the world's combine into a mega anime crossover world where everyone has there memories sealed and there all diffrent tropes/charecters,

And the Mc has to free there memories to fix the world's

I'm looking for what I think was a web comic I saw many years ago.
It had somebody shooting a pistol at a super-heroine who just shrugged off the bullets similar to George Reeve's Superman while she made a snide comment about it being a waste of ammunition since she's bullet proof.
Then the shooter throws the empty gun at her, and she gets knocked over and makes a comment of "Gah! You've found my weakness! A thrown empty gun" while the guy looks shocked that it worked.
Then the final panel has her get up and mock him about how stupid it was to think throwing the gun would have any effect after she shrugged off the bullets and she was just making fun of him by taking a dive.

I can't recall where I saw it, but I'd like to find the link.

I am looking for a short story that may have been original fiction, and might have been posted to Usenet, or an author's web page (as was common in the '90s before Fanfiction.net and Livejournal, or at least before it started being trendy to post prose fiction to Livejournal) decades ago. Or it could be newer than I recall and posted somewhere else like fictionpress.
I'm honestly not sure where I saw it.

In it a school adopts a camera system and an AI computer to monitor for bullying and end the "he said/she said" situations along with getting all those attention seeking liars who make up stories to get other good students in trouble on camera so they can be debased of their lies. Also to have proof of the troublemakers who keep antagonizing good students.

Except that the "wrong" students keep getting flagged by the AI for punishment. Sports stars, and students who get good grades in class with no disciplinary records but lots of false accusations against them are being flagged for tormenting the "attention seeking liars" who had previously been punished for making false accusations. Worse, not one of those liars are caught out in a lie. Instead the cameras are showing videos to support their version of events, while the ones with witnesses backing them up as being innocent are showing to be bullying or harassing the people in question, and the witnesses either helped block, corral or isolate the victim, while people who claimed to have seen nothing were clearly there watching the incident.
Including a nerd known to like to work with computers who has constantly been making up stories about harassment since he started, but never has any witnesses willing to testify and the people he complains about always have a witness or two (usually the same witnesses) to say the nerd started everything while they were minding their own business.
So the guy accuses the nerd of hacking the system and somehow doctoring the cameras to show the people who have had scores of "false" accusations engaging in harassment of the "attention seeking liars", rather than admit there is a bullying situation and the victims were NOT lying.

Does this story sound familiar to anyone? Eventually it comes out the computers and cameras were not tampered with, and it was virtually impossible to doctor the videos the way the guy was accusing him of, and the principal who refused to see reality got fired.
I'm not sure when I read it, other than it was quite some time ago, it might have only been a decade, but something tells me it was late '90s or early 2000's.
I'd kind of like to find it again, but I can't recall what it was called or even where or when I read it. Just that a system was put in place in a school, but the "wrong" students were being caught bullying, so they accused a computer nerd of tampering with the system rather than admit the "attention seeking liars" were telling the truth all along and that the "model students" were the problem.
I read something in a Worm fic with Taylor giving video proof and it makes me want to read it again where a camera system is installed and the bullies start getting caught where previously the school had been denying that it was even happening and calling the victims "attention seeking liars" who "keep making false accusations so they can play the victim", only for the school to be like "wait a minute, the wrong students are being flagged. "

Just saw a common problem in another weakish fic which reminded me of an old idea.
There are tons of fics where the protagonist gets into Narutoverse (not sure how much this is the case with other fandoms) and immediately starts demonsrtating (at least to readers) how much is he/she Independent and not liking traditional clans with all their Too Rigid ways. The only fic I can remember where the heroine saw them as actual people with their own merits - and had them help her in return - is Iryonin Kasa of some 5-10 years back. But even therein, she's partially an outsider.
On the other hand, there are actually lots of people out there - among LARPers, kendo practitioners and those enamored of Japanese culture, e.g. - who do like those traditional ways (even if the traditions are actually from Tokugawa age, or even from 20th century... ;) ).
So - did anyone see fics where an isekai protagonist in Narutoverse or similar actually likes old clans and their ways? Or is anybody interested in writing some such? (Not sure if requests for future projects should go here...) Bonus points if the protagonist really hates Kishimoto &Co for being postmodernists. ;)

Dreaming of Sunshine. The SI genuinely loves her new family (the Nara clan) and adopts their ways wholeheartedly. She admittedly recognises and dislikes the way the entire village system is a social and propaganda machine for turning out loyal child soldiers, but a) she doesn't blame her family in particular and b) rather than declaring her Independence, she decides the best way to fix things is to help and support Ninja Jesus (i.e. Naruto) when he starts reforming the continent with the power of Friendship. (The start of the fic predates Boruto, so the SI expects him to actually succeed.)

Note that DoS does have a fairly heavy Stations of the Canon issue early on. If you have a problem with that, try to hang on up to the Sasuke Retrieval arc, because things get more original after that (and by the start of the Canon Timeskip, things are entirely original and the Stations have been thoroughly butterflied).

Trying to find 2 Harry Potter fics I read probably 15+ years ago on FF.net. In both cases, all I remember is a single scene/plot point, which I hope someone else will recognise.

#1:
  • A particular newsperson (I don't think it was Skeeter; maybe the editor of the Daily Prophet?) had been bad-mouthing one of Harry's female friends (I think it was Ginny? But he wasn't dating her?)
  • Suddenly they make a complete 180 and prints a retraction
  • When questioned, Harry reveals he sent the newsperson a letter. Nominally, the letter was an impassioned plea for the guy to reconsider his stance in the name of common decency and Harry's status as a hero who has often faced Voldemort "at the end of my wand"...
  • ... however, specific phrases of the letter were italicised, and if you read just the italicised parts, the letter was an explicit threat telling the guy to repent or else face his doom "at the end of my wand".
    • I specifically remember the phrase "at the end of my wand" or maybe "at the tip of my wand" was used in the threat.

#2:
  • One of Harry's friends - I think it might have been Luna - sent him a homemade cake by owl while she's at home over Christmas holidays when he was staying at Hogwarts
  • After she returns to Hogwarts, they open the package together, to find the cake discoloured, collapsing, and emitting foul odours
  • It is revealed that the whole thing was a sting operation to test if they could trust their mail, and plainly they cannot
  • Luna mentions that she had added an indicator potion to the cake while baking it to detect subtle tampering; Harry replies that he's pretty sure that multiple people intercepted and tampered with the package while it was on its way, and that the combination of various poisons, love potions, and curses would probably have made it blatantly obvious something was wrong even without the indicator
 
Sooo i was searching for a fic where there was some edgy Percy jackson, where he was able to recruit Campe because of some fuckery with Nyx(?) being involved in his birth.

Also i was looking for one how to train your dragon fic where dragons went extinct and humanity lived in submarines in a post apocalyptic ice age, where hippo was a "geneticist" or training to something similar in case you know of it
