Kinda just barely escaped getting towed, don't dare go too far because if I manage to rustle up any money I need to put it in the gas tank.

The heat was murderous today, no respite, only warm water to drink.
Prayed for rain, dark clouds, heat remained, no rain.

Panhandled, got looked through like I was invisible. Didn't depress me any further, maybe I've hit the limit? No results this time. Probably because I smell bad from all the sweating.

Hunger came back. Hurt real bad for awhile. Gone again.

Got a text, phone service will be cut no later than Tuesday. Possibly before.

Tow truck rolled up, driver was annoyed that I started my car and drove away before he could do anything.

AC was on while driving away. It felt soooo good. It was a serious effort to turn the car off after parking

Are there no food assistance or homelessness programs in your area? Because my impression is that situations like you're in are what they're built for. Even just a food bank or soup kitchen would stop you from literally starving to death.

Also, at the moment you seem to be mostly parked up, but you've mentioned highways and rest stops before; do you have a destination in mind, just travelling, or were you sticking to the same general area?

I'm in the middle of nowhere sleep deprivation led me to choose a bad route and now I'm just kinda stuck. No services or assistance out here.

Otherwise I had been fleeing a very bad time.

Okay, thanks to a donation to my PayPal I was able to get gas and cover my insurance (it's hard to panhandle during a thunderstorm).

Then I bummed a cigarette.

Haven't had one in a while.

Nicotine is a drug y'all, I am fucked up off one cigarette.

I'd think it was laced except I saw him open the pack.

Just damn.

Oh. True. Though, for your phone plan, you should try negotiating a lower-cost plan at this stage. There are even options that can provide for those with little money. Government-backed ones.

I'll assume you've already looked into charities like SalvationArmy, and read things like this for tips. In case you haven't read that specific guide, this seems relevant to your developing context:

I actually do have a number through google for when I'm on wifi only, like right now (McDonalds parking lot).

The biggest pinch is that the number of my cell is the security for unemployment which I am already brutally struggling with.

Hate to say it, but I think I have to go back to Pensacola.
I mean, I feel like I'd rather die, but I already failed my serious attempt at suicide and I kinda know the territory there.

I never thought I'd be in a situation where I would rather have cancer, but here we are.

I might get lucky I still have a bit of a cough after all those antibiotics and shit. Maybe all those years I spent smoking have caught up with me.

Either way I have gas in the tank so I'll see if it's enough.

Here's an issue: I'm sleep deprived. I can't drive long distances in one go.

I'm taking this trip the same way you eat an elephant; one bite at a time.
Not big bites either, at least not big compared to the distance needing to be covered.

Trying to grow a beard. Still shaving my scalp and neck, but leaving the rest.

Not sure how it's gonna look, most of my beard is white, just like my remaining hair is, but hell, why not?

Give it a couple of weeks to grow in and see what I end up with.

Also, this free wifi is not letting me access literotica. Very annoying.

I'll soon start the nightly routine of trying to sleep. We'll see how that goes.

Depending on how persistent or severe said brain fog is, the answer might be sleep, caffeine, water, going to a doctor to get a CT/MRI scan of your head, or making an appointment with a psychologist/psychiatrist to get proper medication.

I am not. I would have rather more options if I were.

Nor do I have children or a drug addiction.

Besides, I might not make it. <shrug> I was stranded for a bit recently, so I know it's possible.

EDIT; talked to unemployment, as usual they were vague as shit and committed to nothing. I have yet to get a single red cent from them.

Also, used an actual pay phone for the first time in 30+ years, so… novelty

Growing a beard is kinda annoying. Especially when most of it is white with scattered brown. Looks like hell right now, but it's something to concentrate on that isn't the dire pile of shit my life is right now.

Got four and a half hours of sleep last night. New record for recent times.

Free Wi-Fi hunting is ass. Truck stops don't have it, it's apparently another way to suck money out of truckers. Paid Wi-Fi only

McDonald's and Starbucks are the most consistent providers.

Still can't stay on the highway for long stretches, no hallucinations though I just get exhausted super fast.

Goddamn do I need a shower.

Also a burrito.
