General Fic Discussion & Idea Thread

Sooo....

Since I got some good ideas and had a little time to plan out the first arc, I've started a thread over on SB for Counter Projection.

Here's a link: Counter Projection [MK 1412/Det. Conan]

Feel free to click and read the first three chapters, the last of which isn't on FF.net 'cause I'm kinda pissed off at them right now...<grumble>...so, yeah. Just thought I'd let ya'll know.

i have found a story thats as good as worm (in my opinion) so im posting a link to it here to see if others agree i hope to see many new storys (because as great as this story is it is semi new so i cant find mutch of anything)

Overlord

:-/ The writing quality is grating. The blurb is full of grammatical errors, and the body, while technically proficient, was obviously translated with excessive literalism.

It's... Okay. But a lot of it turned me off, though it's possible it was the lack luster translation that contributed a bit too. The premise is interesting, and it is part of a trope that I like, the Mistaken for Badass masquerade, though the protag is that powerful such a subgenre is mostly about trying to hide the truth. What disappoints me is how little conflict there is, even on the social side which is where it's supposed to be in this kind of story. The MC is so powerful that nothing short of the minions he brought with him can challenge him but said minions are absolutely loyal (the one time one does it's mind control and after that nothing else is a challenge). Attempts to hide his identity are never really at risk, trying to be a hero doesn't cause any interesting comedy or drama. Trying to hide his human nature from his minions also doesn't produce drama as he quickly becomes extremely amoral and is willing to kill innocent people to further his goals, and after the first couple chapters he doesn't even dwell on the implications of that.

It probably was meant to be funnier but the blandness of the writing kills that too, some think it's the translation process but honestly seeing what I have with manga and anime based on recent post 2010 LNs I think it's just the source material.

Dumb idea:
Danmachi + Dungeon Meshi = Danmeshi, or "Is it Wrong to Pick Up Breakfast In A Dungeon?"

Some dumb familia with the ambition to go as far as they can in as little time as they can decides to cut down on backtracking time by meeting standards of total self sufficiency in the dungeon. This includes living off of food gathered in the dungeon in the form of monsters.
Otherwise pretty vague.

Question, can I post a concept idea for a story here?

Well, it is more a prologue(/introduction you give to a publisher) than anything. Should I post it here or should I rather create a thread for it? I don't plan on posting more chapters any time soon so I was wondering.

Being the utter noob that I am, I am not even entirely sure what a worm-fic is, and am rather cautious about finding out.
I've got a couple of fic ideas I've been sitting on that I haven't done anything with lately, so here they are. None of them feature worms, I promise.

The first is a Supernatural AU where things have diverged wildly from the very beginning. Consumed with grief after his girlfriend is eaten by a fire portal in the ceiling, Sam Winchester attempts to overcome his emotional scars by doggedly pursuing his father, alongside his brother Dean. For a few years, all is good. But then, Sam Winchester falls in love with a girl he meets on one of their smalltown adventures, and guess what? Fire portal in the ceiling. Again. Now utterly distraught, and near his mental breaking point, Sam immediately departs from his brother's quest and catches a bus back to the east coast.

Skip forward 6 months, and Sam is in a dive bar in NYC, having failed out of his papers at Stanford. At first he seems downtrodden, but his innocent puppydog eyes attract the pity of a girl at the bar, and they go back to her place. Over the next few months, Sam seems to rebuild his life around her, and they fall madly in love with eachother. At which point, Fire Portal In The Ceiling. AGAIN.

But this time, Sam knew it was coming. See, in the 6 months since returning to the East Coast, Sam had found that any woman he showed remotely any affection for would inevitably be eaten by a fire portal in the ceiling, so long as he could get her in bed. The curse was generational, passing down to the second son of the family in each instance. Several uncles and great uncles of Sam's had committed suicide; this was why.

Nevertheless, whilst Dean was able to to have his women not eaten by fire portals inconveniently located by ceilings, his second son ( and if he didn't intend to have a second son, fate intervened) would suffer the same fate that Sam did now. Except Sam, driven insane by the compounded grief, and the harsh reality that he could never truly fall in love, now had ulterior motives.

The woman Sam slept with from the dive bar that night was actually a lawyer that the mafia had commissioned Sam to take out. She would be the first of many. Using his unique power to have whatever woman he was currently in love with be eaten by a fire portal in the ceiling, Sam became the perfect arsonist. There was never a trace of the body, nor any sign the fire was anything but accidental. Sam had already been taught how to falsify identification, and soon he was one of the most efficient assassins on the market.

But now, Dean is catching on to a spate of housefires with suspiciously portal-shaped burn marks on the ceiling. And so the game of cat and mouse between brothers begins...

Ok, so I didn't actually watch Supernatural past Season 1 episode 12. But I enjoyed entertaining the notion of a Black Widower in the form of Sam Winchester who romanced women both rich and famous so that they are inevitably consumed by a fire portal in the ceiling. I didn't get to the point in the show where the fire portal in the ceiling was explained, but presumably there would be some demon on the other side of it who would be simultaneously confused and annoyed that he was being used as corpse disposal in an assassination scheme.

CottonD Worm fics are fanfics about an internet web-novel called Worm that is very popular in the fanfiction community at this time.

Well, some speculation by Shadowjack in his "Shadowjack watches Sailor Moon" threads on rpg.net gave me some ideas about a Sailor Moon/NGE crossover. Basically the Senshi saved a lot of people in the Second Impact but vanished afterwards. It's 2015 and Shinji arrives to Tokyo-3 called by his father. Misato arrives to collect him, but she had another passenger, NERV Head of Logistics, Usagi Tsukino.

What would stop them from just obliterating the angels personally? I could see it as more believable and interesting if they could no longer transform. Say they refuse Crystal Tokyo, stopping the apocalypse that lead to it by sacrificing their powers.

It's sort of what I had in mind. But that haven't stopped them from trying to help. Mamoru is a doctor, Rei is the Priestess of the only Shinto temple in Tokyo-3, Ami is a doctor in NERV Germany, Makoto is one of Misato Lieutenants and don't really have much on the others.

Then what about the other Senshi all over the universe or the Alien races that the Senshi have presumably contact with by now?

Sailor Galaxia would so screw over anything that NERV or the Angels try.

It would actually be interesting if the Sailor Senshi didn't interfere simply because the Angels aren't evil. They just want to live. They have no interest in desroying the universe or killing all of mankind, it is just the only method by which they can survive also exterminates all life on earth. (Though to be honest, we don't know that for sure, Third Impact Angel style would likely be different than Giant Naked Rei Style and it would also be different depending on whether the Angel tried to fuse with Adam or Lilith. It would likely be quite bad.)

Maybe.... I dunno they are trying to move mankind to the moon? Contact some allies to get mankind to move away, but that takes time and in the meantime they want to Keep mankind alive?

Good points all around. My post was more in the spirit of brainstorming than a real outline, because at the moment, the crossover is no more than half a page of scribbled plot points and notes, and I still have Ancient Moon to work on.

Thinking of writing a fic about the Elven Galactic Wars, the event that forms the basis for my quest "Legend of Galactic Madoka" later on and underlined the darkness of my previous quest.
  • 6000 years before the start of PMMM, two nations fight an ever escalating conflict. These nations are the Galactic Federation and the People's Union of Galactic Republic.
  • The war has gone on for 400 years with no end in sight. Great victories are never acted upon, rotting away, an eternal stalemate causing the war to eek on and on.
  • This culminates in
the Puella Magi who becomes Itzli and the destruction of the entire galactic elven civilization.

Side Story #030, Ship Profile #002 & #003 - Irrelevant Little Details, "Supernova, Gravity"

Proportionality. Proportionality.

This was the mantra that Ciel Bleuneige repeated in her head as she sought to justify why she did not tell Mr Peacock and Madoka of the existence of two other additional blueprints, namely the Supernova-class battleship and Gravity-class carriers. They did not need such destructive weapons in order to preserve the human species from the threat she her self sensed dwelling in the stars. Her elven sense told her that the Egg-Hatcher was at work, cleaving millions of souls somewhere in that sea of stars. Where souls were cleaved, that meant that contracts were being formed. As seen in the downfall of her species, where there were contracts, there was technological advancement. She could tell that the Egg-Hatcher was forming them in the thousands, far beyond the rate it did with ancient human societies. This was why she told them of Aurora and Centripetal. She could feel the massive amounts of contracts being formed.

However, she could not tell them of the Supernova and the the Gravity. In the Union-Federation War, they had brought disproportionate death destruction in the galaxy, the destruction that caused her to cry and beg from the Egg-Hatcher.

---

Seated on the bridge, Fleet Admiral Villeneuve of the 8th Fleet and head of the People's Union of Galactic Republic Navy, gave his firing order.

"Fire!"

---

Within 6 hours, the 4th Fleet of the Galactic Federation had been practically destroyed. The main cause of their destruction, however, was not the sheer volume of fire. Had it been sheer volume, the Federation fleet might've been able to retreat.

It was sheer volume of fire, combined with the superior communications capability onboard the Supernova-class flagship. The Union fleet used the flagship as a hub for communications and the onboard supercomputers had calculated a firing solution that instantaneously decapitated the Federation's 4th Fleet. The 4th Fleet's screen of escort ships was destroyed by focused battleship and destroyer fire from the Union's 8th Fleet. Then, after that, a combined wing of bombers and fighters spaceplanes from a Gravity-class carrier launched within less than one hour, penetrating through the 4th's mediocre protective screen. The Federation's battleship Liberty, having an overspecialised anti-ship arsenal, was quickly downed, having no plane cover. This was only the beginning of the disaster at Serenity Starzone. Taking advantage of the 4th's decapitation, the second part of the firing solution was put into effect. The Union fleet, bolstered by the destruction of the Liberty, quickly prepared to fire again. This time, the flanks of the the 4th were targeted. Controlled and unending fire decimated the flanks of the 4th into rubble, blocking a sideways retreat. The next step of the plan was to have a flanking force of roughly 8000 Blue Sky destroyers encircle the 4th from below the galactic plane, unnerving the remaining junior officers of the 4th, who were confused and intimidated by a three-dimensional battle of encirclement. The rear-bottom of the 4th was bled to death by a galactic-scale rain of Parthian shots, reduced to another wall of rubble. What remained of the 4th was then pinned down by the fighter-bomber wing, entombed by their comrades' shipwrecks from left, right and behind. Soon enough, the full force of the 8th Union Fleet and its Blue Sky detachment and the plane wing advanced from front and bottom, the fight wing retarding the retreat of what remained through constant harassment. The only way they could retreat was through the top. However, that retreat was slowed through constant, unending fighter-bomber attack. After liquidating the Federation center, the overwhelming numbers of the Union's 8th hunted the routing elements of the 4th down, leaving no survivors of those who had the foresight to escape the encirclement. Only a double digit amount of the Federation's 4th managed to be calm enough to send a surrender beacon. Thus was the Battle at Serenity Starzone, which ultimately led to a victory disease that ruined the Union's subsequent invasion and perpetuated the war for another decade.

People's Union of Galactic Republics Supernova-class Battleship.
Length: 245 metres.
Width: 60 metres
Height: 60 metres.
Crew: Around 715 for standard, 845 for flagship.
Armament: One small weapon slot. One medium-size weapon slot. 3x large weapon slots.
Engine: 1x Elven nuclear FTL engines
Special features: Zettabit-Speed Communications Router (ZSCR), Spacerender Zettabit firing computer.

The premier battleship of the People's Union of Galactic Republics, superseding the Aurora-class, It could be said that the Supernova-class was the known height of Union elven engineering. Size was irrelevant, as was aesthetics. A 'giant ugly stick', the interior and exterior pretty much summed up the Union's sense of high culture, that is, none. Stark and utilitarian it served its purpose and served it well.

Generally, a senior officer fortunate to have one of these as their flagship armed their Supernova-class battleship with three high-powered laser guns, one medium-powered laser gun meant for destroying escort ships and one battery of highly accurate anti-plane guns that relied on its firing computer to predict the flight paths of the planes. At the Battle of Serenity Starzone, Fleet Admiral Villeneuve instead relied on a loadout of three large neutron guns, one medium neutron gun and one small pulsing laser gun, the neutron guns having a wide spread and therefore targeting multiple enemy crews, to inflict as many personnel casualties as possible. Of course, like other modular weapons systems mounted on other Union warships, they could also be equipped with nuclear torpedo launchers or a plasma-thrower for the more pyromaniacal of officers.

The main highlight of the Supernova-class over the previous Aurora-class is not the armament, however. It is the two pieces of hardware on it, the Zettabit-Speed Communications Router and the Spacerender firing computer. A fleet networked with the ZSCR had firing patterns perfected to near-Planck time. In this, it was equivalent to adding 5 Aurora-class battleships to a fleet. The Spacerender firing computer that was standard on all Supernova-class battleships coordinated with the ZSCR in order to practically shape a battlefield with firepower alone. It turned pathetic admirals into average admirals, average ones to great ones and great ones to master ones by its mere presence. It could determine at what point an enemy fleet was likely to retreat, which firing solution was best at inflicting casualties, delaying an enemy fleet or trapping it and then from these facts, calculate the perfect firing solution, denying futile attempts at retreat and in general costing the Galactic Federation significant resources and victories.

It's one weakness was its singular engine, which was a strange inversion of Union engineering. This one compromise of reliability meant that a failure of the engine meant that the risk of becoming a sitting duck relative to other ships was really high. However, even that trade-off had a purpose, to reduce nuclear fuel consumption. A twin engine for such a powerful ship would've meant a ridiculous amount of nuclear fuel consumption.

People's Union of Galactic Republics Gravity-class Carrier
Length: 297 metres.
Width: 130 metres
Height: 30 metres.
Crew: Around 1771
Armament: 2 small weapon slots
Engine: 2x Elven nuclear FTL engines, 1 dedicated nuclear catapult engine
Special features: Spacecraft super-catapult

A 'giant ugly rectangle' to complement the Supernova's 'giant ugly stick', plain and simple aesthetics told to the Galactic Federation fleet that "I am here to kill you and I'm so eager to do it I didn't even dress up."

The two small weapon slots were generally equipped with anti-plane missiles. However, there was one case where the admiral equipped her flag carrier with pulse lasers, charging straight under a Federation fleet while sending out her full carrier wing, using the small guns to destroy a Federation battleship. Predictably, she died, although the sheer insanity of it managed to cause a Federation retreat despite the death of leadership.

Like all carriers, space or naval, what mattered was not the guns or missiles on it, but rather the carrier air wing. One carrier could carry 60 spacecraft. There were two ways in which the carriers were loaded out. The first was to fill it up with the Micrometeroid fighter. This configuration was generally used by admirals that preferred a focus on guns and missiles for a classical fleet-to-fleet battle. The second required two carriers. It involved having one carrier full of Comet superiority fighters and another Asteroid bombers that would combine their wings together to create one 120-plane wing of fighters and bombers which mutually supported each other. Bombers would destroy anti-plane armament on ships and proceed to bomb ships to oblivion, while fighters would work to defeat any fighters if there were any and join the bombers in the case in which there weren't fighters in downing enemy ships.

The feature that distinguished the Gravity-class from the Centripetal-class was that the Gravity class possessed a dedicated engine for the plane launch catapult. Enough to power a small destroyer, the catapult's engine possessed enough power to launch a fighter at near-light-speed. The wide interior launching deck, equipped with 6 launching tubes only made dealing with a Gravity-class attack worse for the Federation. Even with an average crew, it could send out 60 planes within 30 seconds.

With its gigantic complement however, supply lines with Gravity-class carriers were highly vulnerable, necessitating escorts from an admiral's own fleet. In certain instances where there was a long voyage, hygiene and armour integrity was often at risk, with jettisoning the content of the septic tanks becoming necessary at times, posing a risk of dirty, smelly elven-origin micrometeoroids wearing away at the armour of ships in its wake.

Side Story #031, Ship Profiles #004 & #005, Plane Profile #001 - On the other Hand, "Aurora, Centripetal"
---

For all of her uneasiness in withholding from Mr Peacock and Madoka information about the Supernova-class and the Gravity-class, she was still willing to reveal the existence of the Aurora-class battleship, the Centripetal-class and the Micrometeoroid. In this, it could be said that she was hypocritical in her quasi-pacifism. Hardware alone does not determine the outcome of a war. The more advanced firing computers and networking of the Aurora-class, in actuality, meant very little when it was taken into account that they were a new generation that had not fully replaced Aurora-class and thus were not as numerous. In this regard, it was comparable to the Third Reich's situation involving the StG-44, for while the StG-44 was beginning to replace the K98 rifle and was in many regards superior to it, the majority of the damage done to Europe by the Third Reich's infantry was not from the StG-44, but rather the K98. In war, hardware alone does not decide the course of the entire war. While it would be somewhat far-fetched to say that a spearman could defeat a tank, the fact that one soldier has an assault rifle over his oppositions' numerous bolt-action rifles does not necessitate the victory of that one soldier. Thus was the theatre of war that the Aurora-class found itself in.

Indeed, in the Battle of Bastion Starzone, a battle which would destroy a Galactic Federation counteroffensive against the People's Union of Galactic Republics, the fact was, the Federation's brand new class of battleships, the Eleutheric-class, equipped with a reverse-engineered supercomputer captured from an Aurora, meant very little when on the other side of the battle, the era's greatest officer, Fleet Admiral Brightstar led the Union's 13th Fleet. In this particular phase of the war, the amount of officer skill on the Union side had met a miserable low due to political interference. In the disastrous previous Battle of Lux, which had seen the Union's supply lines overextended in an invasion of the Galactic Federation, exposing it to hit-and-run degradation by the Federation Fleet, around more than half of the Supernova-class battleships had been destroyed due to a carefully designed strategy of divide-and-conquer and passive resistance which severely depleted the Union's logistics. The Union Navy had been pushed out of the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way, the part the Federation called its home.

In the defence of Bastion Starzone which naturally ensued as a result of the Union's officer staff's stupidity, the opposing Federation commanding officer, knowing that the Federation at the time was in a state of political gridlock and that therefore the unity of the Federation government was in shambles, ascertain that his continued survival was instrumental to the survival of the Federation itself. The Federation admiral knew that Brightstar knew this. Thus, the Federation officer had decided to utilise himself and his flagship, the lead ship of the Eleutheric-class equipped with state-of-the-art armour and armament.

In hindsight, he overthought this.

The Battle of Bastion Starzone was best summed up as this:
  • The Federation Admiral set himself up as bait, arranging 12 screens of ships, each equipped with at least a Eleutheric-class flagship to bleed Brightstar's fleet to death.
  • Admiral Brightstar did not make the anticipated forceful breakthrough, deducing that it was a trap.
  • Brightstar ordered all Aurora-class battleships to make repeated use of their weak, but very long range fixed Sniper Decapitation Gun, targeting the escorts of each Eleutheric. Brightstar then ordered focused fire from all of the Auroras on each carrier.
  • Brightstar sent Micrometeoroid multirole fighters from Centripetal-carriers to destroy the Eleutheric-class battleships.
  • By the sixth screen, Brightstar ordered a full blitzkrieg with his now-superior forces, breaking through to the lead Eleutheric-class and concentrating fire to kill the Federation Admiral.
  • The Battle of Bastion Starzone, which took 10 days, ended with a moderate Union victory, putting the Union-Federation war back into another stalemate.
Unfortunately, the Union itself soon lost Admiral Brightstar as he was shot in the leg by a Puella Magi cult terrorist, causing him to bleed out and die.

People's Union of Galactic Republics Aurora-class Battleship
Length: 235 metres.
Width: 55 metres
Height: 62 metres.
Crew: 821
Armament: 2x large weapon slots. 2x medium weapon slots. 1x fixed Sniper Decapitation Gun
Engine: 2x Elven nuclear FTL engines
Special features: Sniper Decapitation Gun

Compared to its successor, the Aurora-class was shorter, narrower and higher. It was a "big ugly, thin stick" in appearance, similar to other union ships.

Its armament consisted of two large weapon slots, two medium weapon slots and a fixed Sniper Decapitation Gun. The standard loadout for a very plain admiral was the standard high-power anti-ship lasers for all of them. At the Battle of Bastion Starzone, Admiral Brightstar had his own Aurora-class equipped with less powerful, but faster-recharging and faster-firing anti-ship lasers which his crew skillfully targeted the weak spots of the Federation ships with. The lack of a small weapon slot meant that it was poor in close-range combat and anti-plane combat.

More reliable, but more fuel-consuming than its successor class, the Aurora-class possessed twin engines. However, this made for a high fuel consumption, meaning that the Aurora-class required moderately high logistical support to function at its full potential. For this reason, victories involving the Aurora-class tended to be in People's Union of Galactic Republics space.

The single greatest highlight of the Aurora-class was its Sniper Decapitation Gun. Its name was two-thirds true. It was meant for attacking an enemy at very long range and it was a gun. However, unless around 10 Aurora-class battleships focused their fire on an enemy battleship or carrier, little damage could be expected. For a patient admiral however, an Aurora-class could savage most the escort vessels of capital ships.

It required significant amounts of infrastructure to both build and maintain. At maximum capacity, assuming other ships were also being produced, around 5 could be finished in a short amount of time on a fledgling colony world in a state of total war production.

---

People's Union of Galactic Republics Centripetal-class Carrier
Length: 218 metres.
Width: 57 metres
Height: 45 metres.
Crew: 674
Armament: 2x small weapon slots
Engine: 2x Elven nuclear FTL engines
Special features: Direct-engine catapult.

A modestly-powerful weapon under the command of a competent admiral, the Centripetal-class carrier was the mainstay of the Union Navy. Capable of a loadout of 60x spacecraft per carrier, its plain nature belied its dangerous ability to completely ruin a heroic enemy's day. With its catapult directly connected to its engines, the only way the Gravity-class surpassed the Centripetal-class was through its faster catapult. In capacity they were practically the same.

Generally, a Centripetal carrier was armed with anti-plane missiles to make any prospective cheeky enemies, in the terms of the pilot officers, "good", that is, dead.

You know, I have recently had a very strange idea pop up in my head. It just seems so out there, but it's just stuck in my brain because I know it has so much potential to be good and/or hilarious, but so much potential to go wrong.

The idea: Somehow, I get SI'd into Frozen. I just go to sleep one day, and wake up within the castle of Arendale on a table or something. Of course, I don't immediately understand what the hell just happened, or where exactly I am.

Highlights include:
  • Starting off greatly, by groggily yelling at Anna to stop singing while still half-asleep.
  • Realizing where I am when I am introduced to Elsa, whom I then manage to call an 'Ice witch" when the realization hits me. (oh yeah... Elsa. Ice witch. I know where I am now!)
  • Talking to Hans about stuff, and generally trying to befriend a prince.
  • Generally trying my best not to have the plot happen, to an undetermined amount of success.
Then the fun part comes in. After around a few days to a week of mucking about, I go back home. And somehow ROB decided to have some fun, because a few characters come back with me.

I don't know exactly how things would go there, but a major part of me at least wants to introduce Hans to CK2. That just sounds so right to me.

i had an idea for a saints row IV fic but i know i don't have the skill to pull it off so i'm puting it up as a challange

So one of the things that i'm sure allot of people have scratched their heads at is Earth being blown up now i know the reason is so we were forced to be in the sandbox because the saints need to sabotage the ship from the inside out due to not having the numbers for a stand up fight but story-wise the reason for earth being destroyed is the boss escaped simulation 13(steelport) due to either not believing the threat or completely forgetting about it.

so the idea is after going to friendly fire just after arriving in modern steelport the boss tells Kinzie to focus on figuring out how to stop the zin from blowing up the earth and quietly rescue the rest of the saints instead of helping the boss in fact going as far to say not to keep a connection to the bosses simulation so she can't be tracked from it because the boss is planing on keeping zinyak focused on simulation 13 while Kinzie and the rest of the saints figure out what to do and doesn't want them to be tracked down because of a com signal the end result? the boss is practically alone until the saints are ready for the end boss fight and only knows that they can actually buy stuff from stores with the weird diamond shaped things that stuff they kill drops.

but yeah that's the basic idea here are the recommendations:
  • This story can start anywhere in the first part the game but it must start before the boss escapes stealport (due to it actually being part of the challenge).
  • The boss is a created character so do what you feel comfortable with just remember if you do go into a backstory they have to be in stillwater for the first game at around 16-19 years old.
  • do not just give the boss powers via kinzie saying"oh hey boss by the way see those blue floating balls yeah go pick them up" have the boss experiment for them be organic in this with curiosity and such.
optional:
  • the boss actually knows how to hack just not on the level of Kinzie and Matt.
  • Kinzie giving the boss a basic security program(homies) that can use pistols and might survive a bullet or 2 their real job is to give the boss some time to sleep .
please pm me if you take up this challenge because i'm interested in seeing how this would go

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but i am looking for sites similar to QQ (or at least content wise)
I am familiar with the following sites:
  • Anonkun.com
  • Literotica.com
  • Asstr.org
  • Storiesonline.net
  • adult-fanfiction.org
Does anyone have any recommendations for me ?

So, I've been thinking about Legend of Korra. Season 3, to be specific.

Here, we have an airbender who unlocks the secret of flight. But hold on, you might say, airbenders can already fly. And you'd be right. Yes, airbenders fly, by making wind and then riding the wind. That is how airbenders fly. But this airbender isn't doing that. He isn't doing that at all. He isn't flying with airbending. So if he's not airbending, what the heck is he doing?

The other three elements all have a next level. Fire to lightning. Earth to metal. Water to blood. But, apparently, not air. The next, more advanced form of bending was never given a name... but it was right there in front of us the whole time; the writers of LoK slipped it in right under our noses.

This airbender who unlocks this new secret, has his epiphany in a moment of loss. All along, the clues talk of letting go of all things, of becoming empty, of seeking nothingness.

What is he doing if he's not airbending? He is voidbending.

Fire to lightning. Earth to metal. Water to blood. Air to void.

Because he's not flying by moving the air like an airbender. He's flying without moving the air at all, floating like a balloon, moving through the air without disturbing it at all. Thinning the air to create a pressure differential. Not moving the air to create a temporary vacuum, but simply increasing emptiness. Bending void at it.

But wait. Where have we seen this before? What else, in this universe, flies through the air without wind. Holy crap the flying bison are natural voidbenders and have been the whole time!

So, yeah, do you think this makes sense? Do you think the writers really were sneaking voidbending in there and that was the intended next level of airbending all along? Or do you think they had something else in mind for the next level of airbending and this is just what it is and I'm reading too much into it? I mean, I suppose you can make an argument for voidbending being more like icebending or whatever, and the real second level is something else entirely, but nothing else quite fits, IMO.

I had an idea for a Stargate/Jojo cross.

SG always tries to look into what kind of alien presence they can detect on Earth and they try to get the artifacts to the base for further research. The most recent case was an Arrow. As Daniel Jackson is examining it he is startled by Jack and cuts himself with it.

Of course, the Goa'uld will hear that someone more dangerous has joined the SG-1 and they up their game in response...

Hey, so this anime, Trinity Seven, does not seem to have any fanfiction stories on the web, probably because it is terrible. But I think that it could be ripe for a AU rewrite.

Perhaps a version in which the magic system actually makes sense. The whole Thema thing is rather... stupid, all things considered. Then again, very few magic systems actually are appealing to me, but I still don't think it is good. Maybe because the anime is not good at explaining things?

Also, cliche OP protagonist who, in spite of trying to have a personality, ends up as a worse version of Issei Hyoudou. Probably will have to change that.

If nothing else, it has a really awesome theme song. Seven Doors, man.

Is anybody interested in the possibility of this kind of story?

I like stories about fairies - particularly the ones that draw on the themes of old folklore. Does anyone know of some good stories - whether original or fanfics - about people being stolen away by the Fair Folk? Both long and short stuff is good.

Anyone got a work with a goth girl protag?

Id love some Game of Thrones crossovers with Warcraft/World of Warcraft.

Some idle thoughts on the subject would be Stormwind or Ironforge appearing in Westeros. Or a large contingent of Worgen during the War of Five Kings feeding the fuel of the Northmen being able to turn into wolves in battle.

Premise: A sizeable group of halflings (Dungeons and Dragons/Pathfinder hobbits, basically) are flung from their native realm to Equestria. Two good-aligned groups from wildly differing cultures and backgrounds must now get to know each other and learn to get along effectively. (Though given their good natures it is probable that basic friendship and such would be very, very easy, and only trickier things like "acceptable use of force against aggression", would be troublesome. Also, halflings might find it disquieting that other than maybe insects there aren't any animals at all; everything is at least a magical beast)

How I'm imagining it came about: The Bellflower Network has freed an absolutely unprecedented number of halfling slaves with the help of a few azatas and agathions. Their former owners, absolutely furious, turn to Asmodius to bring them back and kill those responsible. The groups have a massive fight near a planar rift to the Maelstrom. The energies of the rift, the devils, and the celestials interact in unusual ways and part of the group (probably a few hundred) of slaves and rescuers are throne into Equestria. Probably near Ponyville since it's the best developed part of the entire planet.

One of the conclusions they'd probably draw: Pinkie Pie is fey-blooded and rather like a gnome.

Playing with a few common fic ideas and my own mind. I came up with this.

Evil never gives up! (Naruto/OverlordGame with Elements of DK-like games)

Naruto returns from six years studying Evil and training to destroy the Empire of Fire after escaping imprisonment. However, the previous Overlord's stuff was mostly destroyed and so he must build up his forces. All he has is a newly constructed Tower Heart, Gnarl with a few minions, the Brown Minion Hive, his training and extensive knowledge of Evil. Also the world has gone to the dogs, with monsters, wannabe warlords and other nasties lurking about waiting to pick you off. As the saying goes, Evil always finds a way and Naruto wasn't one to give up.

Basically taking the whole Evil Konoha/Naruto Banishment (or in this case imprisonment) and having fun with it.

Mechanics (if Quest)
Dungeon Building
Minion Creation and Control
Research (Room, Chakra, Items)
Forging Items (Weapons, Armor, Tools)
Choices revolving around Pragmatic, Domination or Destruction
and of course Mistress Options (Like you or Hate you)

Example (Taking over a Land)
First Naruto will establish a Dungeon as a base of operations. Lair, Pen and Vault are automatically made. (cause I am nice like that)
From there, he can build up his dungeon. Naruto knows: Library for Research, Training hall for Stronger Creatures, Black Smith for Forging. Rest have to be unlocked. (Room sizes help affect the room.)
Or take missions within that Land. (Standard Overlord Fare)
While on missions and after taking over Lands, you have a choice. Pragmatic allows you Efficiency but no Evil Cred. Domination lessens the Efficiency but gives you Evil Cred. Destruction gives you greater Evil Cred but no Efficiency.
This also helps affect your Relationship with the Mistress(es). After all, she will be more affectionate if you didn't destroy her former home. Or perhaps, same if you did.
Enemies will try to destroy your Dungeon. You can protect it with minions, creatures, yourself and other things you have at your disposal.

Example (Dark Citadel)
Naruto's Home Base where he builds up his Power Base. Dungeons help with certain parts.
Like Research and Forging. Libraries and Black Smiths, provide bonuses.
Research comes in four forms. (Creature, Chakra, Items and Rooms)
Forging allows you better gear as well as special items.
Since the other Hives are destroyed, you must rebuild them. However, you are no longer bound to the the normal four.

Using D100 for rolls.

So I spent the evening last night listening to music from Repo! The Genetic Opera and I ended up having a dream where Shilo ended up trained to be some sort of surgeon/repoman/ninja and there was political intrigue and a lot of esoteric little secret-society type stuff. She was basically an assassin, except Nathan was alive and training her. Also everything was cleaner and Geneco wasn't a huge thing everywhere even though Shilo was still famous from the Genetic Opera where Mag died. Pretty sure Amber Sweet had taken over Geneco in this universe and was using it with some amount of competence.

I've got the inklings of an AU fic. If anyone is interested in a badass!Shilo and a mentor!Nathan fic, I might cultivate this further. Gonna try to write a proof-of-concept type thing later.
