Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

I think we may have found a modern Imperial Stormtrooper Vader would actually consider competent.

Vader: Why does that lucky bastard in the Myto Sector get all the good ones?

Imperial Officer: ........Lord Vader, I'm standing right here.

Vader: I know what I said.

If this is the standard for the Stormtrooper corp in the Myto sector, one has to wonder how competent the Navy personnel are going to be. With newly designed ships from the Minda shipyards reducing the amount of waste space onboard and increasing the coverage of the guns. Could be one of the most competent navies after Endor.

Damn, what kinda of training bonuses is Las's academies giving to his PDF to impress a mandalorian?
The Mindan PDF or Militia are trained and lead by "retired" Clone Trooper Veterans so all of them meets the standards set for troopers of the SWTOR era, while pretty much everywhere else except a few academies goes for bare minimum or core world Judicials standards which aren't bad but it ain't good either.

High chance of Moff Mola's other system having the same standards for their PDF as he probably transferred some of the Clone trainers over there.

And it's an even higher chance of our dear Moff making all the personnel in charge of the basic training in the new Academies retired Clone Troopers veterans, alongside veteran Stormtroopers for the best results when it comes to the future Myto sector armed forces.

A telescopic sight? On an E11? I thought those were the blaster equivalent of carbines/smgs meant more for urban combat?

No sights I'm afraid - the stock portion of a rifle rests on the shoulder and stabilizes recoil spread… through I doubt that matters all that much with plasma casters ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyhow: telescopic stocks allow for adjustment to rest the carbine comfortably instead of any way it fits. AFAIK a world of difference for something so minor in the grand scheme of the Empire.

Opening up his personal PDA, an unmarked one, he checked HAVEN operative numbers in that subsector. They had a few, and he quickly assigned one to investigate. He didn't trust the normal Imperial investigators.
Ah look at him, maneuvering around stand Imperial protocols. He is learning.
Thorne had been an ISB agent for nearly a decade, and he'd never had a colleague who truly cared about, well, anything that wasn't advancement. They'd capture rebels and smile at the prospect of advancement. But not at the capture of terrorists.
Truly says a lot about the ISB and how "effective" their propaganda is at creating patriots.
But when Thorne and Darna saw the recordings of recently freed slaves, she smiled. It was a small thing, but it had been more genuine than any expression he'd ever seen on a colleague's face.

And that scared him. Because Thorne liked to think he cared. He was entirely devoted to the Empire and its Emperor, of course. It was simply that many within the system were ineffective, bumbling fools, corrupting the vision of the New Order!
Someone: Expresses genuine emotion

ISB agent: "What is going on with your face and voice?"
But did he care? Has he ever truly cared? He didn't know, and that scared him. How could he call himself a true Imperial if he'd never cared for its people?
Poor guy drank the kool aid while everyone else was drinking wine.
While on the train, he noticed multiple people watching the candidate videos from the night before. It helped that candidates only got to campaign on Imperial holo-sites, being given a set amount of equal time. No posters, advertisements or more. Just videos on individual topics, weekly debates, that kind of thing. If nothing else, it made choosing a candidate easier.

Finally, he made it to the voting center, and groaned in frustration. The place was packed, with lines stretching out the door. He knew the governor insisted on voting being done in person, to avoid slicers manipulating things, but that didn't mean it wasn't annoying.
Republic politicians screech in horror at one of their greatest fears: an active and engaged voter base
Yet, in the back of his skull he knew something was wrong. He'd heard that the number of Stormtroopers was increasing galaxy wide. The propaganda said it was an 'influx of patriots!' but was it? Or were standards dropping?
Eventually, the turrets were brought down, having killed none and only injuring a single trooper. The Arven and the others poured into the breached walls, LECA's already ahead of them, shoulder mounted blasters tearing apart all they could see.
If anything, I am pretty sure standards for Myto Stormtroopers are improving.

What does the empire do with Mandalorian iron? Also, did anyone salvage the death stars? The rare materials alone should be worth it. Do Mandalorians adopt children in their new living space? It would allow them to grow pretty fast in a decade or two.

Being fair, it's not all that rare for those actually producing and spreading the propaganda to not actually believe in it. Easier to invent shit from whole cloth, in direct opposition to what they see and do, when they know they are being disingenuous lying sacks of shit, instead of having to engage massive rationalization, double think, and so forth.
